CSS Firefox fix

Hi, I have downloaded a joomla template and customized this. I have a problem with fire fox.
Any suggestions on how to fix the firefox as the logo and banner are out of place
http://www.curioustesting.com/
thanks

1.  You have this above the doctype (Cary already suggested one, but I see another).  Renove those 2 lines.
<em></em>
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
I don't have time to take the code into DW, but this may be causing the centering:
<div align="center" class="main_bg">
Remove the "center" and see what happens.

  • Css position:fixed works on mozilla 21/IE10 but not in chrome ?

    Hello guys,
         I want to stick in position  a rectangle or photo while scrolling browser.
    I am using    sym.$("Rectangle3").css({"position":"fixed"});
    This works fine in Mozilla and IE10 but not in chrome (Version 27.0.1453.116 m)
    Anyone to help please?
    Thanks in advance.

    Antony,
    I will defer to what Sarah said.
    In the future if you needed to add browser prefixes to correct differences which happen for a number of things like transform or shapes, etc..
    Or course this will not correct a bug which I was not aware of in this particular case.
    Here is how to add browser prefixes:
    In this case to make an ellipse a circle because chrome did not recognize the ellipse. I added Opera prefix to show you the syntax.
    sym.$('Ellipse').css({
              '-webkit-border-radius': '50%',
              '-o-border-radius': '50%',
              'border-radius': '50%',
              'width': '35px',
              'height': '35px'
    Sometime the syntax is a little different. Just google the css to make sure.
    Here is another example for a Star Wars intro where I added browser prefixes for Explorer (-ms-), Chrome (-webkit-), and Firefox(-moz-).
    The code can be combined but I did not this time for this sample.
    Sample files here:
    https://www.box.com/s/bdu5c4lq67fkfy7blfhc
    // FF
    sym.$('gradient').css('background', '-moz-linear-gradient(top, rgba(0,0,0,1) 0%, transparent 100%)');
    sym.$('container').css('-moz-transform-origin', '50% 100%');
    sym.$('container').css('-moz-transform', 'perspective(250px) rotateX(25deg)');
    // Chrome and others
    sym.$('gradient').css('background', '-webkit-linear-gradient(top, rgba(0,0,0,1) 0%, transparent 100%)');
    sym.$('container').css('-webkit-transform-origin', '50% 100%');
    sym.$('container').css('-webkit-transform', 'perspective(250px) rotateX(25deg)');
    // Internet Explorer
    sym.$('gradient').css('background', '-ms-linear-gradient(top, rgba(0,0,0,1) 0%, transparent 100%)');

  • IE7 CSS Scroll fix?

    Hi,

    If you don't have a good reason to use XHTML, use HTML 4.01
    Strict - or
    Transitional. Don't use XHTML to keep up with a fad or
    anything.
    File->Convert->(pick a doctype)
    You still need to provide valid HTML for the given DOCTYPE
    before even
    thinking about browser differences. Invalid code can send
    browsers into
    Quirks mode where they will render content in unpredictable
    ways.
    One simple example on that page is the use of the menu
    element, an old
    HTML 3.2 struct that was deprecated in HTML 4.0 (1998), and
    is obsolete
    in HTML 4.01 Strict (1999) and in any version of XHTML.
    You also have 18 open <li> tags and only 15 closing
    </li> tags. I have
    no idea how different browsers will deal with that.
    > Thanks for the links!
    Use them to help you create valid code.
    > Any thoughts on a hack to eliminate the scroll in IE7?
    I am not well versed in IE hacks. I find it easier to write
    code that
    works across all browsers. It doesn't make sense to me to try
    any hacks
    BEFORE fixing my code.
    Again, fix all the code before trying to deal with browser
    differences.
    You will likely find that once the code is valid, most
    browser
    differences disappear.

    the reason it won't expand nicely with Ctrl + is because you
    are using
    Absolute links ( layers )
    and it's inside a frame ?

  • I can no longer log into my online banking website and have tried all of the suggested Firefox fixes apart from resetting Firefox, any other suggestions?

    When I try to enter my customer number to log into my online banking website, an error message reads:
    This form has been re-submitted. Re-enter your customer number and submit only once.
    When I called the bank to find out if they could help they said it was a browser issue and suggested I should use IE or Chrome (No thanks!).
    I have gone through all of the Firefox suggested troubleshooting fixes including deleting the cookie files. I have not yet tried resetting Firefox as I was hoping for a simpler solution before taking this step.
    Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

    If it works in Safe Mode and in normal mode with all extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) disabled then try to find which extension is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
    Close and restart Firefox after each change via "Firefox > Exit" (Windows: Firefox/File > Exit; Mac: Firefox > Quit Firefox; Linux: Firefox/File > Quit)

  • CSS Centered & Fixed Width Layout

    I'm trying to use CSS for building a new layout and do so without resorting to the old methods, like using tables. But I can't even get past a very basic thing using Dreamweaver CS5.5. I want the page layout to be a fixed width yet centered in the browser window instead of stuck to the left. Lots of web sites do this (even Adobe's main site).
    In the past I would just create a parent table and simply give it a center alignment then build everything else inside of it. Easy. Unless I'm overlooking something obvious there appears to be no way at all to apply the same sort of alignment property to a DIV-based container. Dreamweaver provides lots and lots of other formatting options, but page alignment for that DIV object isn't there.
    If I could just get the first big overall DIV centered on the page where I want it I think I could use absolute positioning on the DIVs inside of it.
    I've searched around for examples on how to code CSS to make this work, but haven't been able to simply cut and paste the code into Dreamweaver to make it happen. I need to learn how to do this correctly using Dreamweaver's own CSS property dialog boxes.

    If I could just get the first big overall DIV centered on the page where I want it I think I could use absolute positioning on the DIVs inside of it.
    OMG no.  You don't want to use absolute positioning at all, until you understand CSS positioning fully.

  • Help with CSS & Firefox

    Could anyone help with the query below. I posted this last
    friday but never
    got a reply. The original message that i posted is also

    Thanks for your reply.
    I've changed my code as you suggested & now the content
    div is coming about
    half way down the page- so were getting somewhere. There are
    floated
    elements so I have added the 'clearthefloats' div. There are
    no absolutely
    positioned elements, but I tried making the content div
    position:relative
    anyway but it had no effect.
    I also added some text into the 'clearthefloats' div so i
    could see where it
    was on the page & it is halfway down the page itself,
    even though it is
    below the other elements in the page.
    Thanks,

    Yes I have tried setting the height. It should wrap round the
    whole page
    content not just the graphic. I tried setting the height till
    it looked
    right in firefox but then in ie there was about 150px extra
    at the bottom.
    (this was on another page which is a lot longer). Plus if i
    set the height
    to be right on the homepage, the other pages will be wrong. I
    would have to
    use seperate style sheets, or give the div's different id's.
    Surely there is a way to get the div that all the contents
    are in, to simply
    wrap round them.

  • CSS IE Fix?

    I am learning CSS and overall understanding most of it (though i know questions are coming and they will be posted here => ) As I read and learn I read make sure this or this is done so IE will display it correctly.
    However, I also know that many pages have stylesheets strictly to deal with IE fixes. Where can I find these fixes so that I can learn to implement them into my site design?
    Thanks!

    Position is Everything details the various IE bugs and how to avoid them:
    http://www.positioniseverything.net/explorer.html
    Don't spend a lot of time on IE hacks.  A 3px jog here or a dropped float there won't make a huge difference in the usability of your web pages.  For what it's worth, I almost never create separate style sheets for IE.  If needed, I use a couple of well-chosen conditional comments in the markup.  The less customization you do for inferior browsers, the better your life will be.

  • Css layout fix

    I suspect it is imbalanced div tags that is causing the layout issue the following webpage is experiencing.
    http://www.canchair.com/
    While the ph.416.787.1709 etc information is listed to the right of the "quickship!" image, it is really supposed to be on the next line - to be seen right before the "| email:" information.
    Any clues on how to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated!

    A yellow tag in design view indicates that tag is unbalanced (missing the corresponding <div> or </div>)
    Unfortunately, the majority of errors will not be correctable in design view, you will need to follow the instructions/hints the validator gives you and go line by lin in the source view in order to clear the problems out.
    The good part is, many errors could be casued by a cascading issue due to your unbalanced div tag.

  • Firefox fixes; Netscape and IE, too

    I've updated a collect of patches that help improve the
    initial load and reloading of WebHelp, and correcti the display and
    behavior of the toolbar and minibar (also called the navigation
    bar). Mostly they help Firefox and Netscape. They also solve one or
    two problems in Internet Explorer.
    Except for the last patch below, I previously posted these in
    the forum, and Peter Grainge picked up several for his excellent RH
    troubleshooting site. I'm not repeating the earlier ones here, but
    will be happy to send a summary Word doc to anyone who sends me a
    private message.
    Adobe did make some housekeeping code changes in RH 6, but
    (as of the trial version) none of those suggested here except one
    for whtbar.js, as explained in the summary.
    The usual disclaimer: It works for me but I can't guarantee
    your results. Back up everything. Experiment on a small project or
    a minimized copy of the working project. I haven't tested these in
    RH 6, but a quick look at files in the trial version didn't find
    any likely problems. If you test them in RH 6, please report back
    either here or in a private message.
