Ctrl-C in Forms 4.5 applications

Mostly, it's possible to copy (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) values from one place to another, in case of writeable or read-only field.
Unfortunately, in some Forms modules this doesn't work.
Ctrl-C seems to make a change in the current field, so we get message like FRM-40602 or FRM-40200 in case of read-only fields.
Is it possible to enable or disable copy/paste functionality in Oracle Forms 4.5 modules or applications?
Why does it work in some modules and in others do not?
Thanks in advance

  • How deploy 6i Forms Fmx trought Application Server 10g

    Hello every one,
    Situation :
In my company, we have a software developed by a team using Oracle Forms 6i, the application is connected te Oracle 9i Database and every thing works well.
    Problem :
I was able to upgrade the database from 9i to 10g. But my question : is it possible to deploy all the Forms (fmx 6i version) on Application Server 10g. I want to use the 3-tiers architecture.
Take note that i have not the fmb source files. Just the FMX (about 40 files)
If yes, can you explain also how to proceed (tools to install on Application Server) and how to setup the connection between the 3 tiers throught a LOCAL NETWORK.
    Regards
    Kira

You will at least need to recompile all those *.fmb to *.fmx in the version of the App server you will be using.
We have a forms6 c/s application we are migrating to forms 11g and it almost that easy (except for changes in how you launch reports).
The application server is setup alot like the client/server side of forms is, it needs a tnsnames.ora that points to the database and it needs to know where you will be storing the forms and report. Looks for any *.fmx and that will be the default location.

  • View application pages - view forms views and application pages. enumerate lists

view application pages - view forms views and application pages. enumerate lists, if we disable this permission in sharepoint then user gets blocked from getting into application pages which is good. But now I have few list view web parts on a page and user
is not able to see those reports based on view. It shows working on it. As soon as I enable view application pages permission it works.
I need a permission level -view forms views only.

    Hi Amit,
SharePoint has a feature called “ViewFormPagesLockDown” at site collection scope. After enabling the feature, all groups / users not having the “View Application Pages” permission will not be able to navigate to pages like “_layouts/viewlsts.aspx”
    or “pages/forms/allitems.aspx”.
So, for your issue, please disable the ViewFormPagesLockDown feature via PowerShell command:
    $lockdownFeature = get-spfeature viewformpageslockdown
disable-spfeature $lockdownFeature -url [the URL of your site]

    Hi Nalani500 ,
Yes, you can print the response in a PDF by following the steps suggested below.
    1) Go to the response file
    2) Select the response you want to print
    3) Click on Save as PDF button and it would save the selected response in PDF format.

  • Pdf forms and web applications

    Hi all,
Can anyone help me regarding the feasibility of using PDF forms in web application such as simple html forms?
As a part of the web application written in php, we have large html forms for collecting data.
pdf reports must be generated based on data entered in forms.
So, 1 filled in form = 1 pdf report. Generating large pdf files from scratch with php script is not fun, and I'd like to figure out if there is some way to use pdf forms created in Adobe LifeCycle as html forms.
So, we would like to publish pdf forms created in LifeCycle as a part of web application, where users fill in this form and in some way we pass form data to php script (upon form submit) for saving it in database and load data back to pdf form once user decides to edit it.
Once form is filled in completely we'd like to print it (and maybe save as separate pdf file containing all filled data).
Please advice, is there any solution for doing something like this, or maybe some other suggestions about simple pdf generation & forms handling in case described above?
Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Yours is not a feature request. It is a question about the functionality of the Livecycle Designer product. Please repost in that forum.

  • URGENT: Converting Forms 4.5 application to 9i

    Dear Friends,
There are a few things I want to know. I have a project to convert a Forms 4.5 application to Oracle 9i Forms.
Can you please guide me on the magnitude of change required. What is the major difference between 4.5 and 9i? Will i have to do entire recoding or the coding of 4.5 will be compatible with 9i?
Are there any other possibilities for converting 4.5 application to a 3-tier application?
Any help, guidance or leads will be very helpful, as it is very urgent.
    TIA
    Naveen

    Naveen,
A few points to answer your questions.
Yes You can WEB deploy Forms 6i on WEB. And Forms 6i was the last version of Forms which supports Character Mode.
The most important thing to remember about Forms Character mode is it wont support mouse and since all your operations are using key board, this is the primary concern while migrating from character to GUI/WEB.
let me give you an example..
I have three items each having key next item triggers.
In Character I cannot directly navigate from item 1 to 3 since I have only keys. But If I use the same application with GUI then you must remember that using a mouse to navigate from item 1 to item3 and the in between trigger ( of item 2 ) wont fire. This may not be a desirable behaviour ( since character apps are written with UNIX in mind ).And your problem starts here. You have to have a way of handling mouse navigation. I can give several examples. But 99% of the character apps that I have seen is written purely with character in mind and hence this will indeed be a major issue.
The second major issue is plcaements of your fields and appearance. You have to add Visual Atributes and Property classes. And let me assure you doing all this manually is a big pain and it will cost you a lot in terms of time and money.
Oracle does provide a upgrade utility , but this does nothing much than giving you a GUI Form with out taking care of the functionality.
So it is a hard bargain. There are corporations which have automated tools to do this. If you ensure that you interacvt with them properly you can get a good application in GUI/WEB. It will save you time but will cost you money.
    So choose yourself .
V2 style triggers are no more supported. This basically contains many outdated builtins. So it is more or less a recoding effort if you have V2.
And with regard to 9i , Apart from that it wont support character and C/S there are no other issues. There is no reason why you cant use your 6i form with 9i.
    Good Luck
    Vij

  • How can know which user accessing specific form in ERP application

    Hi,
In our organization we have ERP application that is developed based on Orace forms and reports 10g.
My question is how can i know which user accessing specific form in ERP application based on their login.
    Please do the needful.
    Regards,
    M. Satish

What I infer from your statements now, significantly different from your OP, is that you do not have any logging mechanism and now want to introduce logging with minimum effort.
If that is the case you can add the logging code in your Menu(s), before the CALL_FORM/NEW_FORM. Fewer object(s) to modify, but roughly the same lines of code get added.

  • Exposing a Form-Driven Web Application within a Portlet

    Hi All,
    I'm having a bit of a problem exposing a form-driven Web-Application within a portlet window.
The web-application I'm working with utilizes the Oracle XSQL servlet and is basically a collection of .XSQL pages which are formatted using .XSL stylesheets that produce output HTML for the client.
The application contains hyperlinks for navigation, but is largely Form driven.
The application has already been deployed into an Oracle Application Server 10g container as a J2EE object(.ear file), and is fully functional and accessible over the web.
In order to expose this application thru a Portlet window I utilized the Url-based provider services that come with the Oracle PDK. This allowed me to set up a simple URL-based provider for the site without any coding whatsoever. I also included inline rendering declarations to force the application response to be rendered within the Portlet window.
This setup works fine when only hyperlinks are used to navigate thru the application, however, Forms do not appear to work with this setup. Everytime a form is submitted, the data is posted to the Portlet which fails to pass it thru to the underlying web application. Instead the Action="somepage.xsql" parameter is appended to the URL of the Portal itself thus returning a "page not found",etc... error.
After much OTN searching I have found that the PDK 10.1.2 URL services package does not support Forms for inline rendering. Thus this solution comes close but falls short of what I need.
I was wondering if anyone can point me to a solution that would:
    1) allow me to display the entire web application within a Portlet window (app only outputs HTML & some client-side javascript, but takes POST requests to the XSQL Servlet)
    2) without modifying it's current Form-driven interface, or any of the application's underlying code for that matter,
    3) and without having to resort to java coding the Portlet interface.
The URL-Based Provider setup is almost perfect, I just need to find a way to allow forms to pass thru to the underlying application so that it's response can be rendered correctly.
    Current Setup:
Oracle Application Server (Portal & Wireless) 10.1.2g
    J2EE with OC4J_containers.
    Oracle XSQL Servlet (ver 10)
    Windows 2000 OS

I tried that, the default "Base URL" provides the "Display Option" attribute but only gives me these 2 options:
    - Full browse window link
    - New browser window link
I have also tried other items that use "Base URL" (Simple URL, UrlItem, URL) and are all the same thing. The only items I could find (relevant to this need) and provide the option "Item displayed in page area" were:
    - "Page link" item
    - "External Application" portlet
I even created a fresh Instant Portal to recreate the defaults and add the URL item again, but nothing :(

  • Report name LOV in Submit request form in Oracle Applications

One of my client have a requirement to make modification in List of Values of Report Name on Submit Request form in Oracle Applications.
Currently or by default it displays the reports order by Applications name, but the requirement is that It should display reports Order by Report Name instead of Applications Name.
Any one have idea how to customized the form, can it is possible through custom.pll or any other method.
    THanks in Advance
    Muhammad Ali

The Report Submission screen is FNDRSRUN. The LOV for the concurrent program name is based on the PROGLOVDEF record group, which has the "order by a.application_name, p.user_concurrent_program_name" order by clause.
As far as I know, you cannot modify the query for a "static" record group (defined in the form) at run time, so I can't see that you could do anything with the CUSTOM.pll.
However, you could create a customised version of the form (same name) with a different order by on the record group, but then you have to reapply the customisation every time the form is patched (or you lose the customisation).
You can create a custom copy of the form (different name) and then update all of the functions that call the standard form to call your custom form, but there are lots of functions that call this standard form and you have the problem with patches overwriting the customised function anyway.

    Thanks all!

    Posting from another thread :-
    http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/76916/2/
    i have resolved the problem
    the solution is to :
-download jacob.jar and jacob.dll and frmwebutil.jar all directories (com and jini), you put them into the both directories ORACLE_HOME/forms/java and ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil.
-download webutil.pll and webutil.olb package , copy all files into ORACLE_HOME/forms/java and ORACLE_HOME/forms/webutil.
-create a new user webutil on your data base and create the package webutil_db using script create_webutil_db.sql
after that you compile again webutil.pll and you forms.
all this steps are described in this document:

The Error Message 'Application descriptor file cannot be parsed' shows when compiling (Ctrl + Enter) Adobe AIR for Android applications on Flash Professional CS5.5
This is happening for most of the pupils and staff at our school and they are unable to complete their work.
This also happens on a fresh copy of windows and CS5.5 without any updates and also with all latest updates.
I have tried it on 32-bit and 64-bit CS5, Windows, Air and Java with the same error every time.
There are a small minority of users where this works fine for them with no issue.
I have tried re-setting user profiles.
I have tried a local admin and domain admin account with the same issue
I have noticed however that if the file is moved to the shared area it will compile. If it is on their documents area it will not compile. The users have full control in both locations. This is fine for staff but we are unable to give full control or modify access to the shared area for the pupil's
I have been through the online support section and it directed me to phone Adobe Customer care who informed me that all support has been discontinued for CS5, CS5.5 and CS6 and they will only support creative cloud.
Any ideas what to try next? There is no other information about this error and I cannot work out what is causing it.

I have tried and  able to package an apk using your XML file.Could you please make sure your XML file starting from line 1 and coloumn 0.Any space will results in the error (Application Descriptor file cannot be parsed)
