CUP 5.3: Mass approver update for roles

Hello all,
Is there any way to do mass approvers update for roles in CUP? For instance mass change ApproverA to ApproverB for all roles. Or add ApproberC to all roles in process "Basis"?

That's actually quite easy to do:
- go to roles / serach
- do an empty search
- export
- open the excel file and do a search/replace on the approver
- save the excel file
- upload the excel file with overwrite option turned on

Hi Avantika,
The mass approval functionality can be implemented for simple workflow items which have decisions to complete the work item. (User Decision Type)
In SAP Business Workflow, user can define a task as a decision task by assigning DECISION as the underlying business object type. The task definition allows user to create two or more decision options to complete the task.
The idea is to simply create a custom view/subview for the UWL item and configure it according to your needs.

Approval Task for role assignment

Hello again,
is there any manual for approval tasks with the SAP Provisioning Framework? There is a task group called Request new business role, but if I use this, the approver approves the request, but the status of the role assignment is "in process"and never changed to "OK".
I only found these manuals:

- Implementing role approvals
But both documents didn't show an end-to-end role-request-and-approval workflow.

the web-enabled task "Request New Business Role" and the including approval task are only examples.
To create own approval processes for your projects you have to understand how approval tasks and pending values work.

Approval Process for Role in OIM

Experts,
When a role is approved for a user in OIM, can we stop the user without getting assigned to the role immediately.
We would like this scenario, user requests for role, the role owner approves it in OIM and then the role assignment happens in OIA.(or)
User requests for the role, the approval workflow sends the request to OIA for approval from role owner , once approved it can be assigned in OIA and then automatically reflected in OIM as well.
Which option is more feasible...and recommended?

Approval process code will be initiated in OIM and approving happens in OIA. Once approved, the role can as well be assigned in OIA. This can update OIM automatically by assigning the user with the requested role.
(Or)
Approval process code will be initiated in OIM, approving also happens in OIM, the role also gets assigned in OIM and an OIA updates this change accordingly.
Which one would be recommended?

WSUS - Approving Updates For Group Of Computers

When you approve the updates, you choose which group. After my test group has run with the updates for a few days with no problems, I just approve for all computers.

First of all...I'm new to WSUS. My question...if you have a computer group for Test computers and approve a list of updates for them, is there an easy way to approve the same group of updates for another group of computers once the updates have been tested?
I have a GPO setup that I will apply to all computers and I have a GPO just for IT computers that I will use to test updates. Is that the correct way to do it?

Mass changes / updates for the external saprouter

Hi
My Client just changed the external saprouter and all access to OSS is now out of date.
This includes all information stored for my Client on the SAP portal.
I know that this can be updated manually in all systems, but I am not sure if this can be done on mass via SAP Solution Manager???
Any suggestions please?

AC CUP 5.3 - Error approving a portal role request

Followed instructions to configure portal provisioning in CUP in our sandbox environment but when approving a test request, I am getting the following error message:
Error provisioning your request, Request no: 10327 error occurred in the provisioning systems, error details :
GRC_PORTAL-TEST001-USER CREATE-malformedRequest **
GRC_PORTAL-customError
TEST001 is the userid of the requester
Has anyone encountered this error while tyring to get the CUP portal provisioning to work?

Hi Jane,
I have seen similar messages but not that one.
Have a look in the System Log (Config tab --> Monitoring) and see if that gives any further information about the source of the error message.

UWL: Mass Approval functionality is not shown

Hi Gurus,
I have done the required config to call my ABAP webdynpro leave approval screen when a workitem is clicked in UWL and its working fine.
Now I want to have a mass approval functionality for the leave approval screen. I have added the below Item types and Views in UWL.STANDARD.XML file and uploaded it to the system with high priority and then refreshed cache. When I login to the system and access the UWL, the MASS Approval functionality is not show. Do I have to do any other steps apart from this. Please let me know how to resolve the issue.

Is Mass Approval possible for Approval apps in Fiori ?
I see we have Mass Action field in Scenario definition . If i check it, how can we enable Mass approval in Fiori ?

Mass approval is not released in UI side.
Users can use quick approval by side sliding in tablet.
From business process point of view, mass approval is not a best practice.
When user do mass approval, approves never check details and it means blind approval.
If it is the case, workflow engine can set approval based on business rules and send workitems which really need to be checked. It reduce workload for managers.

Any one of you know how can I configure the UWL with "Approve" and "Reject" column for ESS-Leave Request mass approval?
For example, the manager can perform the mass approval by clicking the "Approve" check box and click "submit" button from the UWL instead of approve one by one....

I have question about WSUS on windows server 2008 r2 sp1.
I need to get list of approved MSU for specified target group only for windows server 2008 r2 sp1, but I don't know whole syntax.
I can get list of approved updates for w2k8r2sp1:

Is there some reason you're not just using the native console reporting to do this?
Testing for 'R2' in the title will not guarantee getting all of the applicable updates, you need to query by Product Category to get all of them.
From my quick research, it appears that GetUpdates() does not return target group information, just a flag state on whether the update has been approved, or not. I don't have a working PS WSUS instance available to me at the moment, but my guess would be
that GetUpdateApprovals() (or something like it) is what you'll need to use to filter by Target Group.

The apple approved updates for an iPad 1 max out at 5.1.1. If you find a way to put iOS6 or 7 on there you'll be jailbraking it, which means Apple washes their hands of your device.
unfortunately, software moves faster than hardware. You will likely find, if you manage to hack your device and put 6 or 7 on it that you'll end up with a non functioning brick. Apple doesn't put iOS6 on the iPad one because the one simply lacks the power to run the newer operating system.

GRAC AC 10 CUP E-Mail Notification for Role Owner to approve

I have my CUP working in such a way that role owners are able to go to their Inbox in UI>My Home . However I would like to send E-mail into their Inbox . Right now we are getting the e-mail only at the end of the request when the request is completed.
What should be configured in MSMP ? Following notification events defined for Process ID Access Request Approval Workflow
Notification Event : END_OF_REQUEST Template ID : GRAC_AR_SUBMIT Recipient ID: Requestor
For the stage Config ID GRAC_ROLEOWNER notification settings are :
Not .Event : NEW_WORK_ITEM Template ID : GRAC_AR_NEW_WORK_ITEM Recipient ID : Current Approvers .
What else do I have to do .

Hi,
You will need to make sure that the submission and new work item notifications are activated in MSMP at the various stages and also make sure that the approvers are marked for both approval and notification at the agent assignments.
I would also check to make sure that their emaill addresses are maintained correctly in the GRC system (the data sources will not pick up the approver email addresses automatically).

CUP - Initiator for roles not requiring approval (i.e. auto provisioned)

We recently upgraded to GRC 5.3, SP10 and started noticing that using CUP, for roles that should be automatically provisioned (i.e. no approval required), it is taking between 3 minutes 45 seconds to 5 minutes for the request to be successfully submitted and automatically approved with provisioning. I was wondering if anyone is experiencing simlar system performance
Our set-up for auto provisioned role requests is as follows:
1. Created initiator INI_NO_APPROVE using role for attribute
2. Created stage STG_NO_STAGE with Approver Determinator = No Stage
3. Created path definition PATH_NO_APPROVE with number of stages =2 and initiator = INI_NO_APPROVE

As per SAP's recommendation - we applied note:1423983 in all target provisioningn systems and this resolved the issue.
