Currency Symbol for each amount

Hello People,
I have to include currency symbol infront of each amount in my web dynpro application display.
Example, there is an amount in USD, currency symbol for USD must be published there and
if there is an amount in EUR, currency symbol for EUR must be published there and so on...
Can someone help to know me how can I do that?
Thanks,
Megha

Hi Megha,
If you are going to store the symbols as graphic/icons  I would store them in the mimes folder and then reference the the mime name in your custom table. So two fields in your table, currency and mime name.
I think you might find that if using a Unicode system that you can just type the symbol into the table - e.g. $ £ ₧ u20AC rather than having to use any graphics. I suppose it depends on how many symbols you need.
Again - I'm not aware of anything SAP standard that does this.
Good luck,
Chris

  • Different format template for each amount column?

    Greetings.
    Is it possible to assign diffrent format template for each amount column in Excel workbooks?
    I'll explain a bit more specific.
    Suppose there's a BW report to Excel as below.
          column1   column2   column3
    row1 111,111   222,222   333,333
    row2 111,111   222,222   333,333
    row3 111,111   222,222   333,333
    All columns are amounts, so the assigned format templates are all 'SAPBEXstdData'.  Here, the needs is that each column have the format of their own, such as 'Centered, large font size, bold, red color, etc'.
    I found out in SAP help portal that I can create workbook templates which include custom format templates, such as OurColumn1Template.  I also found I can use the workbook templates when opening BW queries.  But it doesn't seem possible to automatically specify format template OurColumn1Template is for column1 when creating a new Excel report from BW query or refreshing a query from a Excel report.
    How I can control which format template is assigned for which column? No way?
    By the way, we are on BW3.5.
    Thank you,
    T.Yamagiwa

    Oh my, I found out! It's easy, in a sense.
    We use MS Office 2003, so in the first place we need to change security setting about macro, by the SAP note below.
    Note 574596 - BEXAnalyzer SAPBEXOnRefresh is missing on Office XP
    https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/~form/handler?_APP=01100107900000000342&_EVENT=REDIR&_NNUM=574596&_NLANG=E
    Now that we've got SAPBEXOnRefresh module in a newly created Excel workbook, the rest we need to do is copy the SAPBEXOnRefresh module to the existing workbook, then code the module, like below.  (this is only doing left-justification)
    Sub SAPBEXonRefresh(queryID As String, resultArea As Range)
        Columns("I:I").Select
        With Selection
            .HorizontalAlignment = xlLeft
        End With
    End Sub
    I should have search the forum more carefully...hope somebody will find this post kind of useful in the future.

  • Incorrect currency rate for LC2 Amount

    Experts,
    I am experiencing a scenario where the currency rate for LC2 does not correspond to the one assigned in exchange rate table (TCURR) and would need your advise.
    The following data is maintained in transaction OB22:
    LC= Company code currency
    Local Currency2 = USD (Group currency - type 30)
    Local Currency 3= EUR (Index based currency u2013 type 50)
    Exchange rate type for LC, LC2 and LC3 currencies= M
    Source currency for LC, LC2 and LC3 currencies = 1 "Translation taking transaction currency as basis"
    TrsDte typ for LC, LC2 currency and LC3 = 3 "Translation date"
    There is no reference currency involved. Calculation with inverted currency is allowed
    Exchange rates are maintained for exchange rate type M and valid until 31.01.2011.
    SEK=> GBP
    USD=> GBP
    EUR =>GBP
    Posting date, Document date and Translation date for the posted document are all 28.01.2011.
    For LC and LC3 currency conversion is correct i.e. it picks rate for exchange rate type M from TCURR, but for LC2 (Group currency) system chooses a different exchange rate that I cannot derive
    I can add that the document is a MIRO posting, but the currency in PO/MIRO is equal to the one for Exchange rate type M in TCURR for SEK=> GBP, which is correct. I have also checked the assignment of currency type to material ledger type and it is set to use currency types from FI and to correspond to the currency types from CO.
    Can someone please explain to me how and why SAP has come to calculate an exchange rate for my LC2 amount that differs from what it should be considering settings in OB22 and rates in TCURR?
    All tips are welcome!
    Kind regards,
    Linda

    Srikanth,
    Yes, exactly it is the rate upon 28.01.2011that  should be relevant for the actual document.
    Exchange rate has not entered manually in document header by interface nor by user. Interface only feed document amount and currency i.e. no rates.
    Standard quotation in table TCURN for GBP=>USD is:"1" Direct quotation valid from 01.01.1800
    Standard quotation in table TCURN for "Blank"=>GBP is:"2" Indirect quotation valid from 01.01.1800
    Translation ratio for currency pair GBP => USD for exch rate type M is 1:1, valid from 01.01.1800,  alt ERT=blank.
    Translation ratio for currency pair USD=> GBP for exch rate type M is 1:1, valid from 01.01.1800,  alt ERT=blank.
    Translation ratio for currency pair USD=> GBP for exch rate type M is 1:1, valid from 31.10.2010,  alt ERT=blank.
    Maintained exchange rate valid for the period 31.12.2010 - 30.01.2011 for exchange rate type M is 1 USD= 0.64114 GBP
    Amounts in document are
    Doc. Curr. Amount= 187.44 GBP
    LC2 Amount= 281.16 USD
    Rate used for LC2 Amount in document equals 1 USD = 0.6667 GBP
    Correct LC2 Amount with rate 1 USD= 0.64114 GBP should be 292,35 USD.
    Kind regards,
    Linda

    There are (at least) two potential issues:
    1. The NLS_LANG settings of the client who has stored the data in the database was wrong and therefore the data in the database is not stored correctly.
    2. The NLS_LANG setting of your client that you're using to retrieve the data has the wrong NLS_LANG setting. Therefore an incorrect or no conversion is performed from server to client.
    What client are you using? Probably Windows?
    You can retrieve your current NLS_LANG setting by using the following command in SQL*Plus:
    @[%NLS_LANG%]This will show you something like:
    Unable to open file "[GERMAN_GERMANY.WE8MSWIN1252]"which shows you within the square brackets the current client NLS_LANG setting which is probably coming from the registry under Windows. It's only rarely defined as environment variable which would take precedence over the registry setting if defined.

  • Currency Conversion for historical Amount

    Hello Experts,
    Can some one help me to find a solution for my reporting requirement.
    As part of GL reporting, I have a report which shows accumulated balance for given fiscal year/period. If the currency is in USD,I have no issues. When the currency is in non USD(Ex: EUR) I need to convert it into USD at BW side.
    Here is the example:
    User Enters: Fiscal Year/Period : 2007003
    Accumulated Balance for particular GL account might be 300 EUR.
    But actual posting might be happened in 2006012.
    While converting it to USD it should take the 2006012 exchage rate from TCURR and convert it.
    I have created a RRC1 object and used it in Query but it is using 2007003 exchange rate.
    Please help me to solve this problem.
    Thanks,
    Bobby

    Hi,
    make your currency conversion type time dependent that is the the exchange rates should be picked based on the date when the G/L account was posted.
    Go to transaction RRC1 chose your exchange rate type and in the time ref. tab give key date as the posting date it will pick the exchange rate as the date when the doc was posted.
    Hope it clears
    Thanks

  • Displaying one currency symbol per page on groups

    I have a report that displays data at grouped levels only.  I need to display the currency symbol only once per page on certain fields.  While this works on the detail section, it's not working on the group header/footer sections.  Does any one know how to limit the currency symbol to one per page on a grouped field?  Thanks.

    Hoperfully this will make my problem a little more clear:
    My report groups on FIELD_A and sums $FIELD_B at the group level.  The report displays Group Footer 1 which contains the group name FIELD_A and the sum of $FIELD_B.  The user can drill down on the FIELD_A group  to see the detail.  I only want the currency symbol for the sum of $FIELD_B to be displayed once on each page - on the first line of each page.  When I format the sum of $FIELD_B field at the FIELD_A group level, the "display currency symbol once per page" option does not work.  I could use a conditional statement to set the currency symbol for the sum of $FIELD_B but I'm don't know how to determine if the sum of $FIELD_B is the first instance of the field on a page.
         GROUP FOOTER1     GROUP FIELD_A     SUM($FIELD_B)
         DETAIL          FIELD_A          $FIELD_B

    Hi,
    In my understand String.format standard function will support JDK1.5 onwards. Lower version will not support. So,check in your jdk version before use that standard function.
    So another way use this code,
    UDF header like this,
    Public String <udf name>(String a, Container container))
    Inside UDF put this code:
    int strLen = a.length();
    for(int i=strLen;i<12;i++)
    a = a + " ";
    return "~" + a + "~";
    Note: . Example: in this code field length is using 12. becaz we mentioned that loop i<12. If what you need put it instead of 12.
    Hope It's working fine .

  • Locale Currency symbol present in Win but not Linux

    I am trying to get the currency symbol for the locale en_NZ (English, New Zealand), which is '$'. However, it works on Windows, but not on Linux. On linux it returns "NZD" which basically means it did not find the symbol for the locale. I am using 1.4.0 on both linux and windows, I even tried overwriting jdk/jre/lib/ext/localdata.jar on the linux system with the one on the windows system, and it still doenst find the symbol.
    I have also iterated through all available locales for both the linux and Win JREs, and en_NZ is available.
    Has anyone come across this problem?
    Thanks
    - Adam Langley

    You have complete faith in that dont you?
    It doesnt work. well, it works, but the Symbol is not found. Not on Linux. And the AU symbol is not fuond on Windows when it is on linux. Very annoying really.
    I have quite alot of experience with i18n, and cant see why this wouldnt be found. the libraries are available, but not returning the currect data for some reason.
    Try both of these.
    System.out.println(java.text.NumberFormat.getCurrencyInstance(new Locale("","AU")).getCurrency().getSymbol()); // SHOULD RETURN $, but WIN=AUD, LINUX=$
    System.out.println(java.text.NumberFormat.getCurrencyInstance(new Locale("","NZ")).getCurrency().getSymbol()); // SHOULD RETURN $, but WIN=$, LINUX=NZD

  • Printing currency symbols(like $ for dollar)for all countries in smartforms

    Hi friends,
    I have to print currency symbols (like $ for dollar) for all countries in SRM PO Smartform.
    Is there any character set which has all the currency symbols in it?
    If so, how to print those in Smartforms?

    Hi
    There are two ways to maintain format of Currency,
    1. Transaction : OY01 Customize: set up countries
    2. Menu->System->User profile-> Own data -> Defualt
    Just check the country seeting as well as user setting
    before run the smart form.
    U can use SET COUNTRY command to set country format which is specified into OY01.
    Use Write stament to convert into required currency format.
    ... CURRENCY w
    Effect
    Correct format for currency specified in the field w.
    Treats the contents of f as a currency amount. The currency specified in w determines how many decimal places this amount should have.
    The contents of w are used as a currency key for the table TCURX; if there is no entry for w, the system assumes that the currency amount has 2 decimal places.

  • Import format for two amount columns in different currencies

    Hello,
    I am working on FDM 11.1.1.3 and will be getting the trial balance containing amounts in two currencies (both local and USD). I need to load data in both the currencies. The extract has two columns for the amount rather than having two different rows for different currencies. Any ideas how to define this format and how to load data. We are not using the translation logic and hence the amounts in both currencies are required.
    Thanks for your help in advance.

    Hi Tony,
    Thanks a lot for the input. Any idea, how should I go about doing this else if you have any documentation, let me know. Also, what are the cons of doing it this way over requesting the customer to get the file with amounts in different rows than in different columns

  • Separate amount for each individual customer to valuate quantity

    Hi,
    I have a requirement where the amount to valuate the quantity for each customer can be different. If the customer is generating power, the credit that he gets paid is dependent on the contract price which was agreed at the time of signing up the contract.  And this contract price can be different for each customer.
    In order to meet this we thought of using contract price as installation fact but I am not comfortable in having this sensitive information on the installation facts.
    Can you please advise if there's any better solution or workaround for this issue?
    Thanks,
    Sachin

    You are right. To address individual customers need, you should maintain data/prices as installation fact.This is a common standard process.
    You can restrict user access to change installation facts. Or you can do few customization to control it(which is not highly reconmended).
    Mainatin a custom table/transaction to store contracts and relevant prices which can be maintained by restricted business user. During billing, u need custome variant to read these data to use in billing calculation.
