Currency Translation: Query use different Rates based on country/Currency

Hi Friends,
There is a requirement from our client to apply two different Exchange Rates on the rows of a single query (based on the Inflationary status of countries/Currencies).
For regular set of countries(or Local currencies), we want normal P&L Rate to be applied on local curency.
But at the same time if it is a High Inflationary country (or currency), the Global Currency should be displayed as it is without any translation.
Both these effects should happen and appear on the same Key figure column.
How can we achieve this?
Looking forward to have your inputs. Thanks in Anticipation!

Hi Vikram,
Thanks for the suggestion.
It seems as if this suggestion could work only when we want to excute for a given country code. In Reality the query will be executed for all countries in one go and we want the query result rows follow different logic for Different LEs or Currency.
Any further Ideas Pls. Thanks!

  • Currency Translation in Planning sequence with variable for target currency

    Hello ,
i have a requirement, the cube contains multiple data in the Group Currency for multiple company codes. & I want to convert these amounts to another KF as local currency using planning sequence only (not using transformation, as the users want to do this when they require.)
For this, i defined a Aggr level , filter & Planning function with Currency translation selecting the source field as AMOUNT_GC & target field as AMOUNT_LC using the Currency Translation type ZCTGCLC.
The target currency is not know beforehand, as it depends on the company code of each records that comes in.
Hence, Currency translation type uses  a Customer exit variable 'Z_R_0026' for target currency.
This is customer exit variable which searches the Master data table of the Company code & replies back with the local currency of that particular company code (derived value from the company code variable also in teh filter).
However, when i execute this planning sequence, it gives me an error saying, "no value found for variable 'Z_R_0026'
    1. when edit the CMOD code, to return only say "EUR" the planning sequence runs fine. However when i use this select statement to fetch the corresponding value of the currency using the company code reference from the company code master data table, it gives the above error. it seems to be a problem with the select statement.
below is the code for that exit
    when 'Z_R_0026'.
         data: l_curr type /BI0/OICURRENCY.
         IF i_step = 2.
           LOOP AT i_t_var_range INTO loc_var_range
WHERE vnam = 'Z_S_0003'. " Company Code Single
             CLEAR l_s_range.
Filling Currency Key from Company Code
             select single currency
             from /bi0/pcomp_code
             into l_curr
             where comp_code = loc_var_range-low
             and objvers = 'A'.
             if sy-subrc = 0.
               l_s_range-low = l_curr.
             else.
               l_s_range-low      = 'ABC'.
             endif.
             l_s_range-opt      = 'EQ'.
             l_s_range-sign     = 'I'.
             APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
             clear l_s_range.
             EXIT.
           ENDLOOP.
         ENDIF.
    2. there is a option of using infoobject for target currency in the RSCUR itself, however, when i try to input the 0COMP_CODE for finding the attribute currency from this infoobject, it doesnt accept.
has anyone tried this earlier ?
    Any help/suggestions , guys, pls?
    Thanks
    John

    Hi Praveen ,
    Thanks for that.
    I have a Question.
If RSCUR were to only accept a Date InfoObject , it would be placed under a differnt heading.
The Tab is "Currrency"  & the sub-Tab is "Target Currency"
so i guess, it should accept other infoObjects as well.
Moreover, the help on that InfoObject buttons says
"Specification of an InfoObject (Characteristic) in which a currency
attribute is stored in InfoObject maintenance. At runtime, the
associated currency attribute is determined using the characteristic
value and this is interpreted as source or target currency."
& i have already defined 0currency as a attribute of 0comp_code. so this should work ideally.
almost similiar CMOD code i have used for other too, but i dont know why only this one is getting struck.
    any help, pls.
    Thanks
    John

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi,
While poplulating the feild catelogue internal table. Pass the currency field  in the internal table.
then pass the paramter cfieldname for the amount field with the name if the field of internal table which contains the currency unit. and also create the seperate entry in the feild catellouge for the currecy unit as well.
for more detalis see the REUSE_ALV_GRID function module documentation.

  • Currency Translation with dynamic exchange rates

    Hi Gurus,
i want to know if its possible to translate currencies
with dynamic exchange rates. If so how ?
    Example :
By selecting values from February to April the exchange
    rates should be :
exRate Feb + exRate Mar + exRate Apr / 3
corresponding exchange rates for every month / number of month.
Does anyone have an idea ?
    Thanks alot in advance.

    Hi Deepu,
could you explain in more detail how to do it. The paper
is not really enough for me

  • Hide/Use a page based on country

I apologize in advance if this has been covered, but I have been searching and haven't seen what I need.
We have created a modified version of the travel expense form, and have added a cover sheet and summary page to the process before the SAP delivered detail prints.  The second page, the summary, is landscape while the other pages are portrait.
We are now going to be handling the travel processing for our mexican divisions, and they have different requirements for the summary, which include the page being portrait, not landscape as it is currently.
I was thinking I could develop another page in portrait, with the fields they require, but I would have to use country to determine which page to hide, and which one to use.  How can I use the employee's country to determine which page to display?
I saw something on the boards about using formcalc to hide items, but can it be done for a whole page?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thank you for the resource.
The document mentions hidden is not available for master pages.
When this was originally developed, the programmer put pages Cover and Summary under the drop down (Master Pages) under the Hierarchy tab.  Aon the same level as (Master Pages) I find items CoverSheet and US_Summary.  Am I to connect my script to Summary under (Master Pages) or to US_Summary? The Summary is the item with the landscape orientation.  US_Summary has no orientation.
Sorry if this is a bit rudimentary, but I am left modifying this without much knowledge of the product.
This is the code I entered in ready:layout for US_Summary
    ----- data.US_Summary::ready:layout - (FormCalc, client) -------------------------------------------
    if ( $record.COVERSHEET.C_HEADER.CNTRY eq "Mexico" ) then
    this.presence = "hidden"
    endif

  • Currency Translation on Key Date for AR Aging

    Need your valuable advice!
I have created an AR Aging query including both Open and Cleared Items based on 0FIAR_C03_Q0005 standard query. However the requirement is to do currency translation to Group Currency (USD) on Key Date. This Key date is defaulted to today but the user can change this to go back in time and pull all the ARs as of that back dated key date.
I was planning to create a currency translation type on M rate based on the Key Date Variable in RSCUR. However I am confused on which variable to base this currency translation. I have several key date variables in my query such as 0P_KEYD2 (based on Posting Date), 0P_KEYDT (based on Net Due Date) and 0P_KEYD3 (based on Clearing Date).
Which Key Date Variable should I use in 'Time Reference from Variable' field in RSCUR? Would it be one of the 3 mentioned above or something else and why?
    Appreciate your valuable advice.
    Thanks,
    Al

    Hi,
Yes I do want to use the Key date from the variable screen and I am using the standard 0FIAR_C03_Q005 with slight modification including currency translation.
As I mentioned in my original post I have several key date variables in this query such as 0P_KEYD2 (based on Posting Date), 0P_KEYDT (based on Net Due Date) and 0P_KEYD3 (based on Clearing Date). My question is which one should I use if I want to base it on the specific key date variable from the variable screen? I need the specific Key Date variable technical name.
    Thanks,

  • Currency translation key based on posting period 0fiscper3

    Hi Folks,
The requirement is to perform currency translation in query based on the end of period. The query uses the time characteristics as fiscal year (0FISCYEAR) and posting period (0FISCPER3).
I have maintained the currency translation key using RRC1 with variable time ref as 0FISCPOER3 .On executing the query I am getting error that 'No Exchange rate maintained ' .But the exchange rates are maintained in the system.
SAP Help states that the variable time reference has to be a standard InfoObject as 0FISCPER or 0FISCYEAR   or customer defined Infobject with type date.
0FISCPER3  is of type NUMC .
Is this the reason that I am not getting the currency translation ?? or I am missing out in some settings.
Please advise .Due points will be granted .
    Thx,
    Gautam

    Hi Gautam,
0FISCPER3 just stores the period values as 001, 002, 003 etc, with no reference to the year (and hence no reference to a fixed point in time). Try create the RRC1 key using 0FISCPER and use this in your query.
    Hope this helps...

  • Multiple currency translation in one single query execution.

    Hi folks.
I have today running in production, a report like:
The user input a period and a version (multiple single values selecion)
    - Period
    - Version (0VERSION)
And the report returt as follow
                                  2010
              Version            A1         Q1
    Key Figure 1        500BRL     400BRL
    Key Figure 2        300BRL     200BRL
Now, the user requires a currency translation based on the version selected in the filter. I mean, for version A* use one exchange rate type.
For Q* version, use another exchange rate type...and so one...
For instance, the solution is to create a currency translation type like:
Exchange rate type from Var. and create this var as user exit with an abap that checks the version selected by the user in the
report and than return the exchange rate type based on this version...
This solution works only if the user input only one version in the filter. But, he needs to input three, four..versions and
in one execution of the report, translate the currency using a exchange rate type for each version.
    Ex: Exchange Rate for version A1 (1.8USD = 1BRL) Exchange Rate for version Q1 (1.5USD = 1BRL)
    Then, the report should return:
                    2010
            Version              A1         Q1
    Key Figure 1        277,7USD   266,6USD
    Key Figure 2        166USD     133,3USD
I know it's a little complex to describe, but if someone know how to do it, I'll aprecciate.
    Best Regards,
    Thiago

Can you explain your query KFs structure..
Seems that in your report there is 1 KF for each version....but you have 1 input variable which holds multiple values ...If thats right..then how are you getting values for diff versions from 1 & same variable..
No, there is one key figure for each document..
    for example,
    (doc/calday/version/sales revenue)
    DOC00001   01012011   0       100BRL
    DOC00002   01012011   A1    120BRL
    DOC00003   01012011   R1    110BRL
In the report, the user can filter by one or more version, and based on wich version he selects, for each version we need to use a specific currency translation.
The structure in the query is
    In Lines
    Sales Revenue
    In columns
    Calday / Version

  • Currency translation with user defined exchange rates in a BEx report

    Hi guys,
our business department requests a new functionality in our BW system. They want to simulate a currency translation in a BEX report. But this currency translation should be so flexible, that the user can change the exchange rates directly in the report.
For example: The report should show a list of all our local company revenues. In the first column the plan revenues will be shown in the local currency (each company has its own local currency: USA->USD; Japan->YPN, Great Britain->GBP and so on). This revenues comes from a normal infoprovider, loaded via flat-file.
In the second column the user should be able to enter or change a plan currency rate. The entered exchange rates should be stored in BW for a next use. They won't maintain the rates directly in TCURR, because this rates are only for simulation use !
In the third column the translated Revenues in Euro currency has to be shown under the use of the exchange rates from the second column.
I investigated a lot of time in the SAP help and here in the SDN, but I didn't find any solution to realize this. Is there generally a possibility to make a currency translation with exchange rates out of the TCURR? Would it be an option to use the integrated planning function of BW? Or is this requirement to far away for an simple implementation in SAP BI ?
I hope, someone of you has also fixed a similar problem or has a good inspiration.
    Thank you in advance.
    Thomas

    thanks for the prompt reply!
Unfortunately, exchange rates are not a part of my cube. They are held in different tables, and referenced depending on what kind of exchange rates I need to be looking at (average rates, daily, planning etc.). The only way for me, at the moment, to know which rates have been used is to go to query global view, and look at the type of conversion, and then try to figure things out. Plus there can be a different key date used in the query, which makes things more complicated.
    Anyway, it was worth asking
    Thanks again.

  • Currency Translation using 0HRFIXCUR

We are trying to translate various Document currencies into a unique local currency (USD) .
We are trying to achieve this at the query. The currency translation type used is 0HRFIXCUR which converts all the other currencies other than USD to USD.
The problem is that when we are trying to convert the currency from EUR to USD its picking up an exhchange rate which is absurd. The rate as per TCURR and OB08 is 1 EURO = 1.49 $ but its picking the value as 1 EURO = 0.9399 $ .
I have seen some posts in the forums but have no clarity as to what has to be done.
Kindly share your views on this.
    Thanks.

    Thanks Dave.
But my TCURR table does'nt contain any value like that for exchange rate type M which the translation key 0HRFIXCUR is using.

  • Currency Translation for Key Figures with Value More Than One Currency

    Hi...
I have query which display key figure GL Account Balance. The currency that used for this key figure is USD and IDR. How we want display value based on selection screen? So if we input currency USD, all value that use currency IDR translated to USD and all value that use currency USD not changed. Otherwise if we input IDR, all value that use currency USD translated to IDR and all value that use currency IDR not changed.
How we do this in query designer? Thank you.
I have use currency translation :
    1. (Right Click Key Figures >> Properties >> Currency Conversion Key)
    2. Target Currency Using Variables Entry
but seems the result is not correct. Can anyone help me ?
    Regards,
    Satria

    Hi all,
Thanks for your help, but still I have problem. I have create one currency conversion type, ZXXX. This currency conversion type is using exchange rate type = "M",source curr from Data Rec, sel of targ currency with translation,
and fixed time ref = "Current Date".
    Problem:
    1. With this setting, i create currency translation in BEx, but the result is not same, it's like the exchange rate not using the same setting with data in ECC (I compare data with transaction fs10N). Is my setting for exchange rate not correct?
    2. When I try to display GL Account Balance --> Calculated Key Figure (Total Debet - Total Credit) for period 0, the translation not working. Example if the value is IDR 1234 then the value in USD still USD 1234. Why this happen?
    Thank you

  • How toconvert multiple currency translation please give details in one repo

how toconvert multiple currency translation please give details in one report

    Hi Venu,
Yes you can do currency translation in update rule as well as in the bex query.
    please follow the below steps:
    business scenario
you have records in different currencies and you want to convert them to a fixed target currency USD, using the avergae rate type 'M' on a monthly basis
    Step 1
Create translation keys using RRC1. here you need to specify the source currency. "select source currency from data records"
specify the target currency as USD
choose the exchange rate type as 'M' and the translation should happen using 0CALMONTH
    Step 2
create key figure 1 (KF1) that stores the amount in differnet curreny and it refers to 0currency. create another key figure (KF2) which has a fixed currency as USD. in the target cube you use 'KF2' and it is mapped from KF1.
in the update rule just below hte currency mapping you can find the currency translation screen, use the translation key created in step 1
    Step 3
if you have KF2 in your cube then you don't need any currency translation becoz you have already performed the translation in update rules. but if you have KF1 in your cube then you need to [erform the currency translation in bex. create a restricted key figure from KF1 (give it name as KF2). right click on the RKF and go to properties -> currency  translation -> select the translation key created in step 1.
    hope it helps.
    thanks

  • Currency Translation at the Web Template level (standard functionality)

    Hi Experts ,
We are currently working in BI 7.0 env. with source system ECC 5.0.
We are working for a task where we need to make the BEx  queries enabled for currency translation .
    The requirement is :-
The user should be enable to give/opt/choose for the follwoing options:-
Currency type (target currency in which the translation is aimed)
Exchange Rate ( Standard(M) or other(P) or something else) and
Key date: The translation will be performed taking the exchange rate on that particular date.
We do have 2 option to perform the task...
1:- Either we do it thru currency translation type definition(RSCUR) and then attaching this currency translation for every amount key figure values at each query level. OR
2:- If we can go and find something at the Web Template level and add/modify the template in such a way so that it gives us the functionality to translate a source currency into a desired one with desired exchange rate type (currently either M or P) and for a specific date.
At this point of time when we do have numerous sub-areas holding hundreds of queries, we want something which should be available as the modification/addition to standard functionality at the web template level and not at the query level as changing each and every one of them and testing would be a cumbersome process and would be costly and risky at the same time. So we are just wondering if we can find something with option no. 2 and add/modify something in the standard functionality.
Please ask for any more information required.
    Thanks very much.
    regds.

    Hi Amit,
You would still need to define the Currency Translation using RSCUR where you would specify
-the exchange rate type (either fixed or variable)
-the target currency (either fixed or variable)
    -the reference date
You don't need to modify any of your queries. You can instead use 'Translate Currency'/[SET_CURRENCY_TRANSLATION] command in WAD & specify the Currency Translation as defined in RSCUR. If you want the target currency & exchange rate type to be driven by user input, you can define these as variables in RSCUR & invoke the variable screen using 'OPEN_VARIABLE_DIALOG' in WAD for user input just before calling 'SET_CURRENCY_TRANSLATION' command.

  • Currency translation for key figure in bex not working.

    Hi friends,
i want to do currency translation for key figure(invoice value in local currency).
i have followed the steps as under:
1st Transferring Global Table Contents: Currencies from R/3 Systems
2nd than transfer exchange rate - from r/3 to bi
3 than In SPRO settings of BW there is option "consider translation ratios in translation"
4th than used transaction RSCUR for creating currency translation type: parameter(exchange rate:m, soure currency fom data records, target currency ISK, time ref: current date)
5th than in BEX query designer have sated this for key figure
but when i run query in RSRT, curreny amount not getting convert?
    am i missing any step?
    pl. guide.
    thanks dushyant.

    Hi Dushyant,
Are these steps followed in Query designer??
In the Query designer, for that particular key figure property, under Conversion tab >> Currency Translation >> Conversion Type, select the currency translation type you created in RSCUR.
And in the target currency, select accordingly.
If you are going to use a variable, use the following link..

  • Translation Query

I have a question concerning the PVA method used in the comma application. The following code given below is listed under the Translate routine in the Rules for Comma application.
    HS.Trans "C4#ForeignExchange", "C4#ClosingBalance", "A#ClosingRate", ""
    HS.EXP "C4#ForeignExchange = -C4#ClosingBalance.P#Last.Y#Prior"
    HS.Exp "C4#ForeignExchange = -C4#Increases"
    HS.Exp "C4#ForeignExchange = -C4#Movement"
    HS.Exp "C4#ForeignExchange = C4#Decreases"
I was trying to understand the code. when I executed the code the first line "HS.Trans "C4#ForeignExchange", "C4#ClosingBalance", "A#ClosingRate", executed fine and I can see the Translated value of Closing Balance in the parent currency member for C4#ForeignExchange.
But after that I am not sure what the code is expected to do since its being assigned to the same member C4#ForeignExchange.
The point of view in the grid is year=2007 and period = January and Scenario="BudV2".
    The second line is *"HS.EXP "C4#ForeignExchange = -C4#ClosingBalance.P#Last.Y#Prior".
So for the year 2006 and for period December , C4#Closing Balance contains some value for Scenario= BudV2 but when I run the script the value does not get populated to "C4#ForeignExchange for Year =2007 and Period=January. I also want to understand how the code should work.
I am new to HFM and any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance

First you must bear in mind that the translation routine is called after the default translation happens and also that it work cumulatively, so that HS.Exp does not overwrite values to the destination, it accumulates them.
Then you have to remember that the balance figures (OpeningBalance) are by default translated using the ClosingRate, while the flow figures (Increases, Movement, Decreases) default translate using the AverageRate.
The first line calculates the foreignexchangediff movement and places the whole value of the closingbalance translated using the closingrate. Because the closingbalance is composite, after the first line executes the foreignexchange account contains the amount as if all children accounts had been translated with the closingrate. We have to subtract from it each individual child which translates with a different rate than closing to arrive at the proper foreign exchange difference value.
OpeningBalance contains the previous year end value ClosingBalance which is translated with the previous year's closing rate. Despite the fact that during translation it will translate with the current ClosingRate, however after translation calculation rules execute again and bring in the previous year's translated ClosingBalance.
Increases, Movement and Decreases contain values which have translated with average rate.
After subtracting all the above, we end up with the ForeignExchange value. You can do a little math as follows:
    Closingbalance * closingrate = openingbalance * closingrate + movements * closing rate
    FxExch = closingbalance * closingrate - openingbalance * openingrate - movements * averagerate =
= openingbalance * (closingrate - openingrate) + movements (closingrate - averagerate) which should be so.
