Sporadic issues with wireless connection (dhcpcd times out)
I'm using a wireless usb adaptor Dlink DWA 110 (chipset rt73). It can connect fine some times, but many times it times out on dhcpcd. Raising the time out time causes it to hold indefinitely on the message "offered 192.168.0.132 from 192.168.0.1". Analyzing the dmesg, I see

I've tried googling, but no suggestion seems to work. Any help? This is basically a workaround, but still. You can try hold_connect script to automatically watch connection status. It can be found here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=103139. Just add "iwconfig wlan0 power off" string in function connect under "sudo netcfg down ..." line.

Session time out in Websphere Application Server
Hi ,
I am using Websphere Application server 5.1 . I need to set the session time out for my web application. Actually, i edited the web.xml and set the value
<session-config>
<session-timeout>10</session-timeout>
</session-config>But when I am refreshing my jsp page, after 10-15 mts, i am able to get a valid page without any problem. Actually since the session time out is 10 mts , I should not get a valid page after 10 mts . I tried one more option for setting the session time out . I opened the admin console of my App server and set the session time out there too. But session not seems to be timing out after 10-15 mts. I am still able to get a valid jsp page. I have many session attributes in that page. So after 10 mts, i should not get a valid page.. I dont know, what's wrong in my configuration. If some body knows the answer please help me.
thanks in advance.
Aneesh KSo what you're trying to achieve is that the ui closes or becomes invalid if no action has been performed for a certain time? That should be easy enough, install a javax.swing.Timer somewhere in your application and set it to the time you desire. Whenever the user performs an action, invoke reset() on the timer (it's a fairly cheap operation). If the timer fires, you know the timeout occured.
You have to decide for yourself what you consider a 'user action' in this context. If you want the session to stay alive as long as the user is still doing something, just install an AWTEventListener, which can react to pretty much anything, mouse movement, keyboard input etc. -
Time out error in production server for alv grid report
hi. i have developed alv grid report using nested select statments. when i testing in development server it is giving the output but in production server if i give 4 months then it is showing time out error.please help me out..its urgent.
Thanks in advance.Hi Manu,
Don't use Nested selected statements.
Use the Following Performance Tuning Options that i have given below so that your problem can be solved.
1) Always check the driver internal tables is not empty, while using FOR ALL ENTRIES
2) Avoid for all entries in JOINS
3) Try to avoid joins and use FOR ALL ENTRIES.
4) Try to restrict the joins to 1 level only ie only for tables
5) Avoid using Select *.
6) Avoid having multiple Selects from the same table in the same object.
7) Try to minimize the number of variables to save memory.
8) The sequence of fields in 'where clause' must be as per primary/secondary index ( if any)
9) Avoid creation of index as far as possible
10) Avoid operators like <>, > , < & like % in where clause conditions
11) Avoid select/select single statements in loops.
12) Try to use 'binary search' in READ internal table. Ensure table is sorted before using BINARY SEARCH.
13) Avoid using aggregate functions (SUM, MAX etc) in selects ( GROUP BY , HAVING,)
14) Avoid using ORDER BY in selects
15) Avoid Nested Selects
16) Avoid Nested Loops of Internal Tables
17) Try to use FIELD SYMBOLS.
18) Try to avoid into Corresponding Fields of
19) Avoid using Select Distinct, Use DELETE ADJACENT

Error time out to connect FTP server
Hi Experts,
I am getting the error in receiver communication channel (FTP) as :
An error occurred while connecting to the FTP server ''. The FTP server returned the following error message: 'com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: The control connection to the FTP server "" timed out while reading the server reply.'. For details, contact your FTP server vendor.
Getting this error for a particular interface. Changed the time out parameter but not working.
the same IP address is used for same receiver but different interface and it is in green status.
tried to restart the adapter but same time out error.
Same configuation is done for two receiver channels .. but getting above error for a particular interface. Please help.
Thanks,
SwapnashreeHi Swapna,
If you are facing problem with only one interface then you make some dummy changes in configuration(ID) to that perticular channel and activate.
After doing this you just restart your communication channel and check if you have any luck.....
Also check if you have permissions ......for the user and folder which you are accing in your channel...

I'm having issues loading Facebook due to time out error.
I'm on 10.8.2 and using Safari 6.0.1. I've tried everything....clearing cache, resetting Safari...and yet I'm having this issue. Also tried Chrome, Firefox and Opera as well. Sigh.
I've got no issues loading Facebook on my iPad using the same WIFI network. So I'm really puzzled.i was having the same problem, after a trying all options that genuis bar recommeneded it still didn't work, but what worked was a DFU restore, which was actually recommeneded by a specialist at the Yorkdale apple store, i can't believe all the genuises i spoke to didn't recommend that the first time around after all else had failed... but DFU restore worked for me...
good luck and hope it helped.

MTS Recovery Service Terminates on Time-Out - Need to Restart Server
Has anyone encountered this error before?
We have an Oracle9i Release 2 Database Server (patched 9.2.0.8) installed on a Windows 2000 Server (latest service pack). Once in while we get this haphazard error that pops up in the Windows Event Viewer:
MTS Recovery Service Terminated With the Following Error -
The Wait Operation Timed Out.
When this error occurs, application end users notice that either their connection to the database becomes extremely slow or are disconnected. The fix is to restart the server. What is the cause of the problem and is there a workaround?
Thanks!
TJHi,
I understand you install the services on a single PC. Are those services set to run automatically? I remember facing this issue myself several times and I guess it's because of the time gap and order that the services start. I.e. when database service is just starting and in the meantime any EPM service is trying to start, it can not start.
It would be better if you set them to run manually. You can then create a small batch file to call in the correct order.
the content of the batch would be like:
net start Hysl9SharedServices
net start Hysl9Workspace
etc.

Windows Live Mail 2012 - Outgoing Email Times Out due to Lost Server Connection
Using Windows Live Mail 2012 on WIN7 64-bit.
Been receiving emails seemingly without issues, but...
Haven't been able to POST any outgoing emails now since September 16th for any of my main/sub accounts.
Indicator is a Norton Internet Security popup stating:
"Email Error. Your email message was unable to be sent because the connection to your email server was interrupted. Please open your email client and resend the message from the Sent Messages folder." Then it lists the from/to/subj.
I recompose and try to resend; same results.
I've rolled WIN7 back to September 6th, but results are the same.
I thought perhaps NIS was blocking the SMTP port, but same results when I turn off NIS and Antivirus. I don't see anything of significance in NIS's logs.
Of course, Verizon's mini-app that sniffs out and corrects email problems does not know or care about Live Mail. Just Outlook and OE.
Ideas? Things to try? Thanks.

I noticed my email account server settings don't match what is defined on the FiOS email setup page on verizon.com.
The server setting I have for my POP3 is "incoming.verizon.net" (not pop.verizon.net) and my SMTP server setting is "outgoing.verizon.net" (not smtp.verizon.net).
Why don't these match?
Also, my port settings don't seem to match what's posted online.
My outbound port is 25 (not 465) and my inbound port is 110 (not 995).
Doesn't seem right to me, and I'm wondering what changed in the past week?
The changes to pop/smtp from incoming/outgoing have been in the works for a while. Maybe Verizon finally go around to disabling the old servers?
Either way, you should update to the latest settings.
For the sake of example, we are going to pretend that we are setting up fictional account "[email protected]" and the password for logging into that account in webmail is "fakepassword" - Again, this is a fictitious account for the sake of an example.
The settings for using Verizon's servers would be:
Incoming Server: pop.verizon.net
Server Requires Authentication: Yes
Username: fakeacct
Password: fakepassword
Requires a Secure Connection (SSL): Yes
Port: 995
Outgoing Server: smtp.verizon.net
Server Requires Authentication: Yes (You can set it to use the same settings as incoming, or manually enter the username and password.)
Requires a Secure Connection (SSL): Yes
Port: 465
If you are given the option anywhere for Secure Password Authentication (SPA), set it to No or Normal

Dear All,
One of our production system and one of HR user got time out error while executing T-code PA30 , PA40 .
Note : we tried the transaction ( PA30 and PA40 ) in our user id ,it work smooth ,there is no issue with in my user id as well other HR user also .
Only the specific user facing time out error in Production server.
Note : while executing PA30 ,PA40 t-codes ,it takes long time to get initial screen itself finally got time out error (No issue with other SAP HR users) .
Pls check the below logs:
Runtime Error TIME_OUT
Occurred on 17.08.2011 at 08:59:00
Time limit exceeded.
What happened?
The program "SAPLRHAC" has exceeded the maximum permitted runtime without
interruption, and has therefore been terminated.
What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
date.
Error analysis
After a certain length of time, the program is terminated. In the case
of a work area, this means that
- endless loops (DO, WHILE, ...),
- database accesses producing an excessively large result set,
Kindly advise ,is this related to any Authorization issue ???Hi,
Please share SAP_BASIS/ SAP_HR release/patch level information of the affected SAP system.
I would suggest you to create New Temp SAP User id with exact copy of that affected SAP User ID and then try to access PA30/PA40 with that New SAP User id login into affected system. Check that, u are facing the same behavior/issue with that New Temp SAP User id ?

File Upload extension that doesn't time out?!
Can anyone recommend a good File Upload utility that won't
time out on a
shared server? Ideally ASP/VBScript.
Restrictions on our shared server mean that we only have 15
seconds to
execute a script.
My concern is that this just isn't going to be possible on a
shared server
because if someone wants to upload a 3MB image then it's,
naturally, going
to take more than 15 seconds.
Would appreciate any advice, thanks.
Regards
Nath. This is not a script issue, but a server issue. You would
need to talk to
your host.

MacAir- Wifii "connected" no loading or "time out" errors
I have a MacAir and all of the sudden the Wifii wouldn't connect to the wifii server at school.
Other students were having no issues. It would say "time out" error.
Then it would connect to the guest network and full bars would show but wont load any pages.
My ipad is able to connect normally. Therefore it must be my OS on the MacAir.
If followed other support threads and reset the network but still having the same issue
I really need to get this fixed if possible, any help would be appreciated. Thank you~Hi aimomo!

Movie trailer server times out
Hi
I have a new Intel Mac and my the Movie server seems to time out from time to time. Is there a way to adjust this setting to improve palyback? Another problem is that my Video's seem to open in Itunes and not in Quicktime. How do I change this?
Thanks
MikeTo open a file with an app other than the default hold down the Control key as you click on the icon. Choose the Open With menu and pick a different app from the pull down menu.
To permanently change the association use the Get Info window to change the default Open With app. Use the Change all button to assign this app to the file extension. The new .m4v (iPod movie) defaults to the iTunes app. Older file formats like .mov will open in QuickTime Player. You can choose to change the open with app.
I don't have a clue about your other issue. If the file is downloaded via http it can't "time out" unless there are server issues or too many people trying to download at the same time.
