i ask how can i get the current tab page ID !!!

Hi,
to get the tab page ID you have to use the built-in Find_Tab_Page (see Forms Help for more information).
The variable :SYSTEM.TAB_NEW_PAGE could be used if the name of the tab page is unknown.

Detecting the current tab page

Hello All,
I am working on a task for our current project which requires that I correctly identify the
current tab page selected on the user's page.
Toward that, I was passed some information about the function:

function get_selected_tabs( p_pageid in number,

which appeared in version 3.0.6.X.
I was unable to locate this function in the 3.0.7 / 3.0.8 api installed on our machine, but since I
only have access to view the public interface of this package, and wondered if this function was
still available.
Has the function been moved, or included elsewhere, or deleted?
The success of this task depends on having a reliable way to determine which tab page is
currently selected/viewable.
Is there another / better method for accomplishing this?
Any help would be most appreciated.

That isn't a supported API yet. I'm not aware of any current functionality that will allow you to find the current tab.

Event for Tab Page

I want to trap the even fired when i try to
change the Tab Page. I will work fine if i will change the tab page (built in when-tab-page-changed) but as per my knowlege there is no event fired if i click the same tab page twice. i.e. if a tab page named 'a' is pressed and the current tab page is 'b' then the trigger when-tab-page-changed will be fired. But if the current tab page is 'a' and user tries to click on 'a' tab page, which event will be fired? Is there any other way to trap the same? This is required because I am trying to interchange two tab canvases on one content canvas. I am doing this to avoid arrows at right side of the tab canvas incase of multiple tab pages.
Please take this matter as highest priority.

Current Tab Substitution String

Hi,
I want to display a particular header background image depending on the current tab page. Is there a substitution string I can use to identify the current tab page?

Hi Scott,
I mean the tab that is current for the page. I have a tab called T_HOME that is current for pages 10,11 and 12.
My aim is to base the header background image on the current tab by referencing it in the page template, eg.
[table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="background-image: url(/myimages/&CURRENT_TAB.);...etc
So when page 10,11 or 12 is rendered the T_HOME.jpg image is displayed.

Stopping tab page change

Dear members,
I would like to prevent a user from moving to another tab page under some circumstances.
Presently, I use "SET_CANVAS_PROPERTY(v_canvas, TOPMOST_TAB_PAGE, :System.Tab_Previous_Page)" to go back to the previous tab page.
However, I'd prefer to stop the action before the change is done.
Any idea ?

Don't know if this helps but... You cannot change tab pages if your cursor focus is within an item that is contained on the current tab page.
So maybe if the cursor was not allowed off that particular tab page until your conditions were met, that would prevent switching tabs.

Is there any way to close just the "current tab" in firefox rather than all 3 or 4 that may be open and lose the entire web page?

If I am on a website and open a few different pages, and then decide to go back to an earlier page, or close that particular page, I get a message that says you are about to close 3 tabs or 4 tabs etc. If I only want to close the "current tab" I am on, I was able to do that with Internet Explorer. Is there any way this can be done on Firefox?

You can make a bookmark and set the location to about:newtab to open that page in the current tab.

Let's say I'm currently on page X, and the previous page I came from was page Y. Is there a keyboard shortcut to open page Y in a new tab right next to the tab with page X?
Currently my only solution is to hold down cmd (for mac) and click the back arrow button, but again, I'm looking for a keyboard shortcut. I know CTRL + T opens up the same page in a tab right next to the current one, but I have to wait for it to load then press backspace to go back one page.

How to reference current tab on page zero?

Hi,
I have regions placed on page zero. How could I reference the current tab? I have to many pages, so using display condition by using page ID is little uncomfortable. I thought I could make a condition by using SQL expression and referring the label or name of the currently active tab. I think, this is a trivial question, but I can not find how to referre to the current tab's name or label.

I cant have multiple navigators on page 0.
Therefore my navigator on the left hand side should be dynamic, based on the tab I click.

I want to open bookmarked pages in a new tab, like it used to, rather than having it replace the current page in the current tab. Ho do I do this?

In earlier verisions of Firefox, when I opened bookmarked pages, they opened in a new tab. Now, in version 6.0.1, when I open a bookmark, it opens in the current tab and replaces the page I am reading. I want the bookmarks to open in a new tab just like links open in a new tab. How do I do that?

Middle-click the bookmark with the mouse scroll wheel to open the link in a new tab.

"Tab Also Current for Pages" is automatically cleared when reusing page

I'd want to reuse a page, and include it in the "Tab Also Current for Pages" list of 2 standard tabs, that are displayed conditionally. But when I include it in the second tab, it is automatically cleared in the first. This only happens in the detail Tab edit screen, in the multi tab edit screen the pagenrs are not cleared. So I can achieve what I want, but for future maintanance this is very risky.
Is there any way to avoid this?

I didn't mean to say that there wasn't a case for a page being associated to more than one tab -- quite the opposite! More than once I wished that could be done...
But the fact is that currently in Apex we have:
- A tabular form that allows you associate the same page to multiple tabs (and worth mentioning, allows you to enter anything in the Also Current Pages column, not only a list of page numbers!)
- A form that doesn't allow you to do so, and validates if you entered a list of valid numbers in the Tab Also Current For Pages field.
Something needs fixing, and in my experience with Apex the forms I've seen seem to be much more strict in terms of validations than tabular forms for a number of reasons.
I am guessing that the form is the correct one and implements the intended rules. If that is true, the potential bug in the tabular form may be fixed in the future and the OP won't be able to maintain his applications that used this hack anymore.
Or maybe not, maybe the bug is in the form. But I would seek clarification on this before going down this route...

I would like to references "Tab Also Current for Pages" by page aliases (like we can do with Optional URL Redirect) instead of hardcoding the page number.
Is there any way to do that?

you can't currently reference page aliases in those Tab Current for Page(s) fields on the "Edit Standard Tab" screen. that's a good suggestion, though... so thanks. i'll log it in a bit.

Firefox by default uses a blank page for a new tab. Something you installed has changed that action to what you are complaining about. You need to figure out which add-on made that change and disable that add-on or change the preference in that add-on.

No that is (currently) not possible.
It will be possible in future Firefox version to specify the number of rows and columns.
