Cursor in white?

Hi everyone,
I got a problem that I cannot solve. Please read the following code:
JTextField input;
input = new JTextField(62);
input.setBackground(new Color (0,0,0));
input.setForeground(new Color (255,255,255));
The idea was, that one should write with white on a black background. This works, however, there is no cursor! When I just go with the standard settings, a black cursor is blinking, waiting for the user to type something. I have no idea how to change the color of this to white. Can someone help me?
Furthermore, I would like to know how to set the textfield as "selected", by which I mean that the cursor should be there as soon as the frame shows, and one should be able to type right away, without having to click on the field with your mouse first.

Create your own Custom cursor (Image) and call it like this
private void setCursor() {
      ImageIcon  myCursor = new ImageIcon(tv.izone.ide.images.ImageRecognizer.class.getResource("whiteTextField.gif"));
          Toolkit tk = getToolkit();
          Image tmpimage = myCursor.getImage();
          Cursor pickerCursor = tk.createCustomCursor(tmpimage, new Point(0, 0), "myCursor");
          textField.setCursor(pickerCursor);
