Cursor on a slider

Hi All,
I have a question which I can not seem to figure out the answer to. I am reading in a value and I multiply that value by 0.3 and 0.70 to set the minimum and maximum. I have also placed a vertical slider as well as a tank on the front panel. I would like to set cursors on the slider and the tank the indicates the maximum and minimum. I know that we can set cursors on waveforms but I haven't been able to do it on sliders and tank.
Please let me know if you would like anymore info.

I don't know if this will help.  But I just played with the tank indicator and came up with this vi.  It does not have cursors, but uses colors as min and max.  I have 3 sliders 1=variable 2=min 3=max.  I got 2 and 3 to fill to the min/max by playing with the fill style for each.
The verticle slider will actually have the slider handles on the side.  Just add 2 more sliders to the slide and color them.
The other way would be to customize the indicator to make it just the way you want.
Hope this helped

  • I can't see the hand-cursor to controlled slides from a Quicktime Interact.

Suddenly, my hand-cursor disappeared to controlled Hyperlinks from presentations in Quicktimes Interactives, make with Keynote.
How can I get it again?
I search in preferences, but I don't know how to appeared it.
    Thanks

Ok, that didn't work and only closed out this window in discussions. After it closed this one I tried again doing the same but nothing. Makes sense though because if it closed this one out it would close everything else out on my desktop too. This is like a giant screen saver. All my other .jpg icons are still on my desktop over the top of this big pic. Is it possible this is what it is, just a screensaver? I did the same with another pic from the same website and it didn't do this. I clicked on my mouse to save a pic to the desktop and this monstrous thing appeared.  My dock is still there and the top bar that has the apple, Safari, edit, etc., but not anything else that you would normally click on to close a window.

  • What is the "Auto adjust White Clip" slider for?

    The Aperture manual says:
Auto adjust White Clip slider: Use the “Auto adjust White Clip” slider and value slider to add tolerance to Auto Levels adjustments when evaluating colors beyond white.
But I don't know what they mean with "add tolerance". What is it intended to do?

"Auto Levels" analyses your Image and applies a Levels adjustment based on a preset algorithm (similar to "Auto-enhance" in iPhoto, for example).  The Auto adjust White Clip slider allows you to set what percentage of pixels will be set to full-luminance.  (Hover your cursor over the slider for a ToolTip.)
This is very easy to see in practice.  Select an Image with no adjustments applied, and duplicate it.  Then with the Auto adjust White Clip slider set to the left, click "Auto" in the Levels Brick.  Select the other Image, change the slider all the way to the right, and "Auto-Levels" that Image.  Compare the two.  Be sure to compare the histograms in the Levels Bricks: this shows you mathematically what the difference is.

  • Increasing width and color of slider bars

I've tried searching for this one and haven't come up with anything, so, at the risk of bringing up a topic that's been already answered somewhere else (please if so, tell me where) here goes:
I want to center images at higher magnifications. Just because you can put your cursor
on the IMAGE and use the scroll wheel to make it go up and down doesn't mean you can make the image go right and left at the same time. Personally, I'd like to continue to use the scroll wheel to zoom in and out (done in preferences, yes) and put the cursor on either the vertical and horizontal slider bars and use the wheel to move the image up or down or right or left. But if you've ever tried to place your cursor on these narrow-*** slider bars you know it's hell to hit those things very
easily because they are barely 1/4" wide--if that.
So the question remains: How can a user increase the width
of these narrow little bars? Is there a way to do this?
Also the color of the bars is very near the same color and value as the
area surrounding it, making it difficult to see. Is it possible to alter the
color of the bars to something more visible, like say, a brighter color and/or different value

"I entirely agree that the panel sliders are narrow. However, I find the panel sliders to be entirely unnecessary. As Ian suggested you can scroll with the mouse wheel."
Wolf, thanks for the reply. Perhaps it is a matter of my non-grasp of the terminology/nomenclature of the various parts of the photoshop
viewing area. What I am saying is that the slider bars on the right and the bottom of the panel (making the image go up and down and right and left respectively) are quite narrow and are the exact same color/value as the corresponding white background of most of my images, making this narrow bar difficult to see on a laptop 3' away and even more difficult to put the cursor on easily.
When you put your cursor on the image itself, I prefer to increase/decrease the magnification as set in preferences.
when you put your cursor on the slider bar on the right side and scroll with the mouse wheel, the image goes up and down. When you put your cursor on the bottom slider bar and scroll with the mouse wheel, the image moves right or left.
However, these aforesaid bars are so narrow that it's a pain in the a** to put the cursor on them to start with. Now, if these slider
bars could be made WIDER (and even perhaps a different color from the
area directly adjacent to it most of the time) it would be easier
to perform the tasks described above.
So I am simply trying to find out (because I have looked and looked) if perhaps these bars can be made wider. This is what Jeff was originally asking and represents to me an easier solution in that one has only to use one's mouse instead of using another hand and hitting shortcut keys and changing modes, etc.
I'm sorry if I'm not making this clear enough. Despite my poor grasp of descriptive english to make my question clear, I've been with P/S since version 3.0 and know about grid view, loupe view, etc. I just
wanted to find out if it were possible to widen the slider bars.
Thanks to you and Mr.McWilliams for trying to help.

  • Not displaying correctly on my LCD HDTV?

Ok everytime I plug in my MacBook Air to my Dell Flat Panel TV/Monitor with the VGA cable, I get the desktop background (Aurora) only, there are no icons, menu, mouse etc., it is like frozen Please help.

It sounds like the MBA is running the Dell in extended desktop mode. You should notice that the trackpad's cursor can be slid off either the left or right edge of the MBA's display and onto the screen of the Dell. Similarly, in this way, you can drag windows onto the Dell's screen, too.
If you want the MBA and the Dell to show the exact same thing, you need to turn on mirroring from within Displays preferences.

And now after the migration to APEX 4.0, it can not display the tab anymore.
Any idea how to solve this problem?

  • Adobe programs dont work with Captivate to capture/record

    Hi there.
I've had problems with Captivate capturing screen recording from Adobe Premier cs5, where it would not show any of the video which was being edited.  I figured this was just the video issue and worked around it by just not showing the video preview for the small thing i was demonstrating, it wasnt a big deal if it was just isolated to this.
Next I was using Adobe Photoshop and setting up a little demo on how to fill objects.  Captivate did not pick up the cursor, it shows a ugly black box.
I also want it to pick up the full motion of my mouse cursor in photoshop, but it doesnt come close, so as im narrating how to do something, my actual mouse is not showing at the same time as im saying it which is essential when you are trying to show a way to FILL a certain area of a shape.
I had plans to do many things with captivate, now it seems i am going to have to switch back and forth with Camtasia, convert to AVI the parts that Captivate does not handle, and then import them into Captivate to make my demonstrations look seemless???
I have a lot planned for Adove CS5 Flash, is this also going to give me the same problem?
I have already searched for a solution tot his, and everyone has said that captivate does not capture things where there is overlayed content etc etc...
This strikes me slightly insane when Camtasia does it so well, and Im using an Adobe program to provide training on Adobe programs...
If anyone knows any delevopers for captivate on here, can they PLEASE look at this right now as im slapping myself wondering why this is the case and how im going to plan to do all the simulations half with camtasia and half with captivate on Adobe products we use at my work.....
Oh see the below link around slide 42 to get an example of what im saying here..
    http://www.blcstudents.com.au/tutorials/col-fill/colour-fill.htm
    or you can check out
http://www.blcstudents.com.au/tutorials/wp/?page_id=35 its at the bottom of the page.
Anyway im worried about what to be doing at this point, I got captivate for adobe products, not for other products and programs out there.
    Cheers for any help,
    Ben.

Just out of curiosity, are you able to modify the mouse cursor AFTER doing the captures once you're back in Captivate editing them?
For example, are you able to select the mouse for the slides where it added this wierd square cursor, then choose the normal arrow cursor from the Properties tabl > Options accordion?
Or are you able to delete the mouse from these same slides, and add it back again, and then select the cursor you want?
Have you found that there is nothing you can do to change this particular cursor on these slides?

  • How do I remove images viewed using preview?

Hi, I'm new to this forum and not very computer savvy, so please bear with me if in the wrong place or asking dumb questions or using wrong jargon!
Still not quite understanding preview except that it seems the only way to see a bigger image of photo's I've added into PICTURES in Finder.
If I click on PREVIEW it takes me to a screen with an image I've previously viewed, then if I swipe again/repeatedly with 4 fingers more images on their own screens are seen as if I'm looking at a photo album. Most of these images I don't want anymore and have deleted them from PICTURES in finder but they are still in PREVIEW. There is no option (can't right click) or menu bar to delete or remove the images. When I right click on the PREVIEW icon I can see a list of the images/pictures I viewed but no option there either to delete. If I click on one, that one appears on a screen but the others don't disappear.
How can I remove the images I don't want to see/keep. And how can I choose the ones I do want to see.
Thank you for your patience and time

    Hi Drew & Kilgore*
Thanks for your replies. I also have and use Simplenote, although I went off it for a while, when it started crashing all the time on me. It seems to be more stable again now, so I'll start using it more regularly again, perhaps.
I am, obviously, disappointed that one can't simply select ANY object within a Notes document and choose to delete it. As I rather suspected, the only solution is an annoying workaround. Apple stuff seems to get more like this as time goes by. At least in my experience.
I solved the issue my own way in the end, but I guess it was close to your 1st idea DR, and your 2nd option, KT: I basically cut and pasted everything above, and then everything below, the image, and pasted both chunks of text into a new note. So it took two passes, and left me with the original note just displaying the image, which I then trashed.
Tapping to the right of the image followed by deletion was what I hoped & expected would work. But instead the image stayed put and the text below the cursor would simply slide along the right hand side, moving upwards as I deleted! Most bizarre, to my mind at least.
Anyway thanks for the feedback. But, for anyone else that might want to know how to do this, the answer is: NO, you can't select and delete an image once it's in one of your notes!
    * I quite recently watched the rather strange Bruce Willis / Nick Nolte 'Breakfast of Champions' movie... I think I still prefer the book to the film!

  • How do I remove images from Notes app?

How do I remove images from Notes app?
I sometimes find that, when cutting and pasting text from the web, an image is also copied (pretty much at all times I try and avoid this, but sometimes the selection process doesn't allow for fine enough control - e.g. a whole block of content may be selected, rather than just the few words I'm trying to copy).
I then find, once it's part of my note, that I cannot select the unwanted image and remove it. Can anyone tell me if this is something that can be done, and if so... how?
    Thanks, Sebastain

i made a slider in scenebuilder et i added a method in the code: #ondrag.scenebuilder gives a warning:No event handler found in FXML controller class for the event ondrag
How can i make an event handler in controller for this slider?
    regards

You should use #xxxxxxx where xxxxxxx is the name of a method in your controller's class.
    What you can do is:
    1. In SceneBuilder, select the node on which you want to set the handler.
    2. Open the Code section of the inspector
    3. Type in the name of the method you want to invoke when the event is fired (don't forget the leading #)
    4. Invoke View > Show Sample Skeleton Code
    5. In the window that pops up, copy the method declaration, and paste it into your controller class.

    -- danielDaniel;thank you for your precious and quick answer ;i have always problems with slider;
    i don't understand your remark :
#ondrag.scenebuilder is not a valid method name.
You should use #xxxxxxx where xxxxxxx is the name of a method in your controller's class.
because i write any name of method in builder #xxxxxxx and i copy it in controller without problem .Is a particular name to write in builder?
my problem is :moving the cursor of the slider by a method of the builder code,i tried differents methods in drag and drop : ondragdetected;ondragdone;ondragentered;ondragexited, onmousedrag exited, onmousedragrelease,
    and in mouse
    and copyit in controller
but if i put a breakpoint at the method the debugger is ignoring the method and the breakpoint
i would like to make a music reader and i succeed to make a slider like a progressbar;but i can't move the cursor of the slider with the mouse in order to play another place.
also i don't find any doc or tutorials on the different parts of the builder code? are any??

  • Event structure mouse up event outside icon bounds

I've just noticed that the 'mouse up' event only works if the mouse cursor remains hovering over the control panel icon associated with it.
It's a problem for me because I have a slider bar which passes values (via an event queue, then RS232 to hardware) when the slider value changes. But that can generate lots of queued up serial writes if I slide quickly back and forth with the slider, so I use a mouse up event to flush the queue. It appears to work, but if I click and drag, sliding the cursor outside the slider bar area, it fails to recognise the mouse up event.

    Hi Graham,
Is it the default behaviour that the Mouse Up event only works while the mouse is above the control itself. If you want to have a slightly larger area, you can use the Mouse Up event of the Pane, and then check the co-ordinates of the mouse cursor before doing your processing.

  • Auto Adjust White Clip

Has anyone ever gotten this thing to work: Prefs: > Auto Adjust White Clip or Black Clip
I Need my highlights to be processed as 253 instead of 255 - is there something I'm missing?
Using Canon 1ds MKlll RAW files.

  • Hiding objects and publishing

When I hide an object on my slide, it is still shows up
visibly when the project is published. The help menu seems to
confirm this. I find this extremely puzzling. If you hide an
object, it would only make sense that you did NOT want that object
to be seen on the published version. I want to include an object on
a template that the movie creator can turn off or on if they choose
    that object to be seen.
Is there a work around for this? I am having the same problem
with the mouse cursor movement. If I hide the mouse cursor on the
slide, you still see it on the published version. Even weirder,
hiding the cursor appears to mess up the cursor movement on the
    subsequent slide.
Has anybody produced a more detailed help guide to cursor
movement? The information in the manuals do not help at all, and I
am having a hard time figuring out if I am simply dealing with a
    bug while doing everything right...
    Regards, Suzan

    Suzan,
    Two suggestions:
    1) Cover the print button with a highlight box and paste them
both onto each slide, telling the developers to delete the
highlight box on slides where they want the button to be visible to
    users.
    2) Since you likely only want to print "paused" slides, set
the On success action of the "pause" button to jump to next slide
and then move the print button to the right of the pause button on
the timeline. Then tell the developers to move the button to the
left of the pause button on the timeline if they want it to be
    visible to users.
On the "timeline" shown below, if the Pause button is set to
jump to next slide, then the Print button will be present on the
slide but never visible to users
    .....[.. Pause button || ..]....
    ................................................[..Print
    button || ..]....
As for mouse starting points, Rick is exactly right. To
"specify" a custom starting position on a slide, you have to make
sure it ends in the desired spot on the PREVIOUS slide.
Try the following and see if it works for you:
Let's say you want to specify a custom mouse starting point
    on slide 5.
    1. Insert a new slide in front of slide 5 (we'll call this
    the new slide 5).
    2. Configure the new slide 5 as follows:
    a) Display Time: 0.1 seconds
    b) Transition: No Transition
    c) Change the background image to be the same as the original
slide 5 (which is the new slide 6)
    d) Position the mouse cursor where you want it to start on
    the new slide 6.
When you run the movie, the new slide should flash by so
quickly that users won't really notice, but the mouse cursor will
be in the correct starting position on the next slide. If
necessary, you can also copy any foreground objects (text,
graphics, etc.) from the old slide to the new slide to increase the
visual similarity & make the transition more seamless.

  • [Cp] Select object from the timeline and move it on slide with cursor keys ?

    Hello,
    I don't know if there's a shortcut for this :
Sometimes, it's easier to select an object from the timeline but if you try to use cursor keys to move it, you're in fact moving IN the timeline.
Is there a way to switch to Slide edition ?
    Thanks.
    PJ

You can not only use the cursor keys, but also in combination with other keys. And indeed, you have to move the cursor over the stage:

There is a list with shortcut keys in the Help, but not complete.
