Friends,
I have created custom CCMS metrics and alert in solman 7.1 as per below document.

I am getting the alerts generating in the RZ20 in the target system but not getting the alerts on mail. (attached image)
Anyone have any idea?

Can you please check the standard job SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP is running in your system, which sends the alerts from RZ20 to SOST. If not schedule, please schedule the same and check after this job completion.

Solution Manager : Realtime Performance Metrics and Alerts

Hi
How can I configure Solution Manager to get
- Realtime Alerts
- Performance Metrics every 5 minutes
- Business Performance Metrics every 5 minutes
Can I have all the above data in CSV / HTML/ XML format
I have read the Solution Manager documentation, and it is cryptic for newbie starter
Any help or pointers to someone who has done this before, will be very valuable.

Poor Security Metrics and none policies for Sybase Plugin

Hi.
I found out that the Sybase Plugin for Grid Control is mostly focused on performance metrics and alerts and I need a more deep intrusion on security matters.
How can I create metrics or policies for Sybase Targets? or if not, would it be considered on future versions??

Setup Customer Templates and Alerting

We are currently have over 75 Oracle 10.2.0.4 test servers, with agents installed and reporting back to our OMS repository. We have been asked to start monitoring tablespace thresholds so that we don't run into outspace issues. What I have done is create a custom monitoring template and pushed it via the agents to the db servers. What I would like to do is remove all the standard oracle alerting, and only have the monitoring template and have it email or page our oncall when needed.

Maybe a better approach would have been to look at one of the standard grid control jobs, database availability and critical states. create your own rule as a copy of this, remove all the metrics you do not want. Edit the rule as the SYSTEM or SYSMAN user of grid control. Then make the rule public and then when you log in as a none SYSTEM/SYSMAN user just subscribe youreself to that rule to recive email alerts. This way you keep all the standard rule in tact.

How to get custom iPod Tough 4G Ringer and Alerts?

I tried Googleing this but got results of dumb apps that just waste my time. So i wanted to customize the Ringer and Alerts to you know how do whistles are high pitched well thats what I want to set it to. When my friend calls me I dont want it going off in class making bunch of noise I just want the high frequence noise.
This isnt really part of the topic but the back camera megapixles is .7 and front is .3 VGA. Is there a way to improve it? taking videos decent but pictures is just crap. Especially when I Skype with my friends. They keep telling me its blury when cant see what your showing us that well.

Alerts through Solman

Hi all,
I am using ECC6, BW 7, PI 7.2... I would like to setup Alert monitor through Solution Manager 7.2.
Should I have to go each PRD server and setup RZ20 CCMS alert, or I can direct setup in solman and add all logical server(s) in solman ?
our enviornment already setup for EWA, but we want to setup Alerts through solman
I download ADM106 and ADM107 but all of shows CCMS monitoring...
please advise or guide me step by step procedure... or any short cut

I would like to setup through solution manager from all server MTE, I donu2019t want to touch any production server and setup MTE at this timeu2026 I just want to setup all server add in solution manager and want alerts will show, when ever getting any problem

Right now I login one by one system Go to RZ20  SAP CCMS monitor Templates  buffers  server-name  Table space  and its shows swap memory too high with RED color
I like to see same thing shows in solution manager (donu2019t need to login each system and check)
Is there any way to setup please let me know or just point out step by step 1..2..3..4.. what I need to do ?

Capturing custom error message from alert category

We are using XSLT mapping and We are raising custom error message based upon some conditions i.e if vendor number is invalid or blank.If it doesn't meet the requirement,mapping will fail and it will throw error message as" IDoc XXXXXXXXX is having invalid vendor number".
My question is,we would like to send this custom error message to email receipients through RWB-AFW.
How do we capture this custom error message is alert category or alert rule?

Hi Eco
You mentioned, you want to stop BPMon alert e-mail right.
If I understand your situation correctly, you might already setup BPMon and activate.
To setop the BPMon alert, you can remove e-mail notification setting from BPMon session where you setup
monitoring object, key figure threshold value.
In your BPMon setup session, under the specific business process step to that you assigned some monitoring objects,
you may see area called "notification".
Here you might defined e-mail sender and receiver setting, also condition to send e-mail.
So if you remove your setting in this area (leave it blank) you will not receive e-mail alerting to that monitoring object.

Applying Metric and Policy Settings globally

Hi,
I wish to remove some Metric and Policy Settings globally.
Example: I want to remove monitoring for percentage of space left in tablespaces. Instead, I want to make all tablespaces auto-extensible and only monitor disk space.
I don't want to go into the configuration of each and every database in order to do this. There must be a way to globally remove out-of-box configurations and globally add a custom configured one, or is that not true?

It disappears only because there is a drop down at the top that says to filter "metrics with thresholds" just switch that to "All metrics" and you will see the blank ones again. As for the disabling a collection. A collection is used for many metrics. When you go to disable a metric collection, by clicking on the link for "Every 15 minutes" (for example). It will list all of the metrics that you will no longer collect data for.
Again, I would suggest not stopping the collection, and simply blanking out the thesholds. Thats the way it was designed.
Eg. Disabling Archive space used collection will disable the following other metrics:
Archive Area Used (%)
Archive Area Used (KB)
Dump Area Directory
Dump Area Used (%)
Dump Area Used (KB)
Free Archive Area (KB)
Free Dump Area (KB)
Total Archive Area (KB)
Total Dump Area (KB)

Source IP for Reporting and Alerts in ESA

Hi,
We have a vESA with 2 listerners in the same subnet, so there is only a default ip route. All the alerts and Schedule reports are being sending using IP A (first listener), but the customer wants those e-mails to be sent using IP B (second listener). I have tried with content filters and altsrchost but it seems, this alerts are not treated as nomal e-mail. Is it posible to manipulate the IP address to sent the reports and alerts?

Can't open Manage Rules and Alerts after adding a shared MB

Have a customer who is using a Terminal Server Environment, all server's 2008 R2 and we're using Exchange 2010.
Office 2010 installed on all server's.
If they add an additional mailbox to Outlook 2010, user's are then unable to open rules & alerts, no error message. It flickers and then nothing happens.
Nothing in event logs that I can see that suggests anything.
If I load up OWA, add a mailbox and then try to open mailbox - it works OK.
Outlook has been re-installed.
Office 2010 has latest service pack.
If you load up the shared mailbox on it's own, the rules and alerts works fine.
Seen a few threads relating to this but none of them seem to have a fix on there.
Any ideas?

I have a test in my environment using Exchange 2010 with Outlook 2010. I couldn't reproduce this issue in my environment. In your case, make sure that this customer has full access to shared mailbox. And then follow the steps below to add shared mailbox
to the customer's account and check the result.
open Outlook -> File -> Account Settings -> Change -> More Settings -> Advanced -> Add -> type shared mailbox name -> Ok
If the issue persists, use Outlook safe mode to determine whether the problem is caused by add-ins.
