Is it possible to create custom lookup field (e.g Owner, Parent Account). ?

The fields that you have mentioned are in the system but i do not think its possible to create a new one. I am surprized oracle is not supporting. I believe this should be a key enhancement because every other SaaS based CRM product offers this.

    If I understand correctly, the field you use to select the template name is a lookup field? If so, then the problem is the lookup field value is not the name of the template. It is an SPFieldLookupValue, which contains the ID and the string of the lookup.
    So you want to separate the template name, like this:

    IF you look at the fieldValue above, you will see it is something like an integer, followed by delimiter ;# and then your template name. you can always just parse the string at the ;# as well if you were so inclined.

    In Internet Expenses, Expense Report Line Detail we have two unrelated fields; namely Expense Location & Tax Code.
    The requirement is to map a default tax code to locations; basically when a user enters Expense Location then the mapped tax code value should default into field Tax Code.
    The location-tax code mapping is stored in a custom lookup (FND_LOOKUP_VALUES).
    My question is how does one go about implementing this?  For example is it possbile to create a new (hidden) LOV based on the lookup mapping & then create a Personalization LOV Mapping between the 3 LOV...  Or is it necessary to modify the Tax Code drop down Message Choice in JDeveloper?  Of course details are appreciated!
    FYI below is the relevant Personalization Structure from "Personalize Stack Layout: (NormalDetails)".

    Hello all
    The correct & supported method is this:
    Extend the location LOV in JDeveloper & add a "default tax" attribute, this could be derived from a new location DFF storing the default tax code for each location. Now simply create a location Personalization LOV Map which takes this new location lov tax attribute & target it to the tax message choice field.
    That's my 2c worth anyway, so please give comment if you feel there is a better way.
    There is just one more little problem however... The requirement has changed! Now we require the tax code to default according to not one location field, but other fields too. For example if the user selects Expense Type of Beverage & Location of Netherlands then Tax Code should be NL19%, for Expense Type of Hotel then it should be NL6%; if the user ticks "Missing Receipt" field then it should over ride all others & set the code to NL0%.
    Any ideas?

  • Custom View in Designers Rollup Header from Lookup Field

    I have a task list that is rolling up a couple of different ways. I'm having some issues getting it to be just right.
    1) Rollup display. The rollup is working great except:  My task list is using a lookup field on an list of initiatives. The look up grabs 3 other fields from the initiatives list (LOEs, Objectives, and Organization along with initiative name). 
    I'm rolling up by LOE > Objectives > Initiatives and then the tasks listed under the initiatives. When the initiative line displays it carries with it the code for going back to the initiative list. I am attempting to apply a different format to it but
    I'd really like the URL there to open up the initiative but can't figure out how to get it display. When it displays now it has [<xsl-value-of node-walk="1236" select="$fieldvalue"><a onclick="OpenPopUpPage('URL', RefreshPage);
    return false;" href="URL">Initiative Name</a>]. It is displayed as text. Is there a way to format it so it is a URL? The options I have chosen do not work.</xsl-value-of>

    I found in context - fieldSchema - Choices - array with lookup items, so i created new object with lookupid and lookupvalue and pushed into Choices. But after update control value i found what fieldValue: "1218;#"; while in  context

    Unfortunatly it is not what i need. 
    Let me explain, i trying to make cross site lookup field. So for now i made javaScript file and overrided JSLInk parameter. 
    I want to made it clear for sharepoint and followed clientforms.debug.js practice. 
    in clientforms.debug.js they used updateControlValue method for update fieldValue. So, i use this method for insert my own lookup object to field value. And main problem - updating field value such as the string  "5233;#HelpMePlz". 
    Cuz after method updateControlValue sharepoint not save my own object.LookupValue  (HelpMePlz), sharepoint only save object.LookupId (5233). I
    need someone who has already done something similar and can explain the subtleties of working with a client side rendering (JSLink) & lookup field. If any know how to do it write plz here or mail me ([email protected]). its realy important to me,thx.

    Hi All,
    Can I have a pre process event handler to update the values in the lookup field on my create user page? I have two user attributes - one is the default organization and the other is a user created Country attribute. Both of these are Lookup fields. I want to update the country lookup field by checking what is selected in the organization lookup field. Is this possible in OIM?
    Not sure if pre process event handler is the way to go but this is what I want to achieve. Can anybody guide me regarding the same?

    OK, here's my shot at a walkthrough... let me know if I missed any steps.
    1. From your original post, you are using two lookup fields. I'm use a base VM for testing, so I needed to create two. I went with City and State (I know they are OOB, but this is just an example).
    - Created Lookup.Custom.City and Lookup.Custom.State Samples:

    7. If all went ok, when you select State, let's say Florida, then when you then click on city lookup, you will only see Orlando and Miami. If you toggle the state to Louisiana, you'll need to click search again on city and New Orleans should be the only one that comes up.

  • Issue with web part connections : won't display data when the lookup field is a calculated field

    I have a list A with a calculated field named A.A. I have a list B that has a lookup field to list A, to field A.A, named B.A. I add the two lists in a wiki page and I try to connect them - I.E., select a row from A and the rows from B would be automatically
    filtered.
    The B\Connections\get filtered values from A and select Provider:A.A, Consumer B.A doesn't bring any results. If I do the exact opposite: A\Connections\get filtered values from B and select Provider:B.A, Consumer A.A  works fine. But, this is not what
    I want.
    If the A.A isn't calculated field, everything works fine. So, it looks like there's an issue with calculated fields acting as consumers.
    Is this a known issue and are there any know workarounds? A workaround is to abandon calculated field and  use sharepoint designer workflow.

    According to your post, my understanding is that you had issues about connecting web parts.
    I try to reproduce the issue, however, everything works well.
    Create a custom list named List A, add a caculated column named A.A(Formula: =Title).
    Create a custom list named List B, add a lookup column named B.A(List A: A.A).
    Create a page and then insert the two list view web parts.
    Edit page, select List B->Connections->Get Filtered Values From List A.
    Then I can filter the List B.
    I recommend to create another caculated column and get filter value form it to check whether it works.

    Can we create our own custom Lookup trigger something similar to " Lookup.USR_PROCESS_TRIGGERS" ? I wanted to create a lookup for a Form (UD_*) . Or can it be done for any other proceess or table ?

    Do don't need a lookup for your custom form.
    just create a process task with [field name] updated and assign an adapter with your desired functionality.
    Take a look at the standart processes they allways have tasks like password updated / username updated....

    In PWA, In Project details page, when we add Displayed Project fields into the Project Information page, Is it possible that I have a custom enterprise field and based on its selection, I can choose the other field in that page.
    I mean, say i have a Custom field in project page as 'Hardware' which has a lookup of say :
    CD
    DVD
    Flash Drive
    External HDD
    Cloud etc.,
    Then when a user selects any one of these. then the below appearing options will be based on this selection. 
    Say user selects cloud, then the next project field should be like Public, Private or Hybrid. Which is not same when user selects other fields.
    I did not find any OOB solution for this. So can anyone please guide me how can I achieve this in PWA, so that these fields may be used as enterprise custom fields, which can be later used for Reporting purposes.

  • How to handle Lookup Field in Add / Edit Forms

    I have a list of properties and a photo library where each image has a 'property' column that defines which property it pertains to.
    I've customized the DefaultDisplayForm and added a web part to show the images from Photo library related to the selected property.  This works because I've "connections" so that filtering takes place (the property list "Provides
    Row" to the Photos Web part which obtains 'Filtered Value from' the selected property
    While this works fine, I am not sure how to extend this so that
    1) Modify the DefaultEditForm so that user can drag / drop additional photos to the Photos List View web part, and have the lookup field be populated automatically.
     2) Modify the DefaultAddForm to allow user to drag / drop photos for a new property (using drag drop) and have the lookup field be populated automatically.
     3) Modify the DefaultDisplayForm to disallow the user from adding photos using drag / drop (i.e.l to force them to use the Default Edit Form to do this).
    I would imagine I need to add some JavaScript snipped that sets the value of the lookup field in each photo being uploaded to the Property selected in the other webpart but I am not sure where I should do that ? 
    Any guidance appreciated.,

    and the next table is

    Fields in tht table are TST_FROM

    I have to link this two tables with datasource 2LIS_11_VAITM
    I have tried to connect with a lookup field from the tables to the datasource,but I didnt find a common field.
    Even I tried to connect the datasource thru some other table but I couldnt
    Pls help me out in this...!!!

    This is standard behavior. Custom fields do not trigger delta.
    You can try several options -
    - If it is a standard SAP field coming from one of those VB* tables, try to name your custom field the same (SAP gives a warning, but you can ignore it). SAP sends the complete structures (eg VBAK, VBAP) for delta recording, and if this field is part of these structures, it may trigger the delta.
    If that is not applicable, consider extending the LIS comm structure underlying this extractor and use an LIS exit to populate this field. This field will then be available in LBWE to transfer to extract structure and will trigger the delta. The appropriate exit is mentioned in Roberto Negro's weblog on extractors here on SDN (am not on system so cant give you the LIS exit name).

    I have added a user defined lookup field using Design View.
    I added the following attribute to FormMetaData.xml:
