Custom Personalization Dialog for JSP Dynpage

Hi,
i have a JSP Dynpage Component with the bean. i want to allow the user to personalize the iView when they click the "Personalize" in the iView Tray. So i have implemented doEdit() in the JSP Dynpage class and setting a JSP in the doEdit(). But in the portal the iView is not bringing any custom personalization JSP when i click "Personalize" in the iVIew Tray Drop Down Menu.
doEdit() method wont work for JSP Dynpage ? is it only for Abs Portal Component ?
Thanks,
Saravanan

Hi Saravanan,
Hi Saravanan,
JSPDynPage is more elaborate version of the DynPag. It creates a JSP file and, optionally, a Bean class.
This means that the doProcessBeforeOutput methods are slightly different and there is an additional JSP file and an optional Bean class file. There are obviously other differences (such as the differences in the portalapp.xml file).
Just check with a sample Portalapp.xml file:
Ensure all the entries are made.

  • Custom Personalization Dialog

    Greetings, all
I would like to create a custom personalization dialog by cloning and editing the code for my iViews' standard personalization dialog into my iViews' par file Java class (using method doEdit).
I have been studying the Javascript (page support) and EPCM eventing functions, but I'm missing something - I can't seem to connect the dots from the iView data to the resulting personalization output. The portal component 'com.sap.portal.appdesigner.framework.profile' is somehow invoked, but I have not been able to identify what (or where) this component is.
My goal is to recreate the personalization fields and labels and the necessary buttons (save, close, et. al.) , maintaining the portal theme LAF, then make enhancements to this code.
If someone has knowledge of this process I would greatly appreciate some guidance (and gladly award points!)

    Closed no answer.

  • Creating a custom UUT dialog for the parallel model

    Hello,
I am attempting to customize the parallel process model in order to (amongst other things) present a different UUT info dialog.  (The default one defined in modelsupport2.dll only presents a single "Serial number" field where I need numerous other ones.)  Because I am not familiar with CVI (and don't have the development tools for it), I was hoping to create an ActiveX DLL in Visual Basic, or a .NET assembly to manage a slightly more complex version of the UUT info dialog...  While I am sure it would be great fun to fumble with all the complexities of this until it shows some semblance of proper functionality I am hoping there may be some resources available online that would demonstrate how one would go about doing this kind of thing.  I've seen LabVIEW code that provides a different UUT dialog, but it was based on the sequential model which circumvents the most complex issues such as synchronizing the dialog with the TestStand threads, etc.  Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

I am just posting this in case anyone else runs into the same sort of requirement.  The attached zip file contains the source for a .NET assembly that is the beginnings of a VB .NET replacement for the parallel UUT dialog of the modelsupport2 DLL.  I don't want to write an epic here, so the general idea is that the parallel model sequence is modified to make calls into this assembly instead of the modelsupport2.dll component.  But you can't just disable the dialog by setting the ShowUUTDlg boolean to false - that will completely remove the consumer loop in the ProcessDialogRequests sequence which the .NET assembly is trying to send requests to.  I've attached the modified ParallelModel.seq in case anyone's interested.
Note that there are still significant problems with this and it is provided as-is.  In particular, if you attempt to break and step through the parallel model sequence after the dialog has been initialized, you will not be able to continue - the main thread will hang until you restart TestStand.  With a little more thread mgmt, that could be fixed.  If nothing else, it is useful code to look at if you need to enqueue items from a .NET assembly into a queue defined in a TestStand sequence.
If you can afford to use the existing dialog as-is, and then add additional info gathering to the main sequence, that is clearly easier.  (That will be OK for my purposes so that is what I'll do.)  However, if you need to have one custom dialog that manages everything in the parallel model, this is the kind of code you should expect to need.
Hopefully that helps somebody.  There is not much info out there about integrating .NET at this level.

  • Custom loading image JSP dynpage

    Hello,
Wa have created a jsp dynpage, and want to show a custom loading image. I other applications (appintegrator) we have succesfully changed the loading image by exporting the theme that we are currently using, change the loading_ani.gif image and re-importing the theme. This change has no effect on the loading image of the JSP dynpage, it is still the one supplied by SAP. I checked the url of this image and got the following https://host:port/htmlb/mimes/common/loading/loading_ani.gif, so I tried changing the loeding image that is stored in the htmlb par file, but there was no visible result when loading the application, or when loding the direct url of this image. Can anyone tell me where I can change the loading image of the JSP dynpages?

  • Design view for jsp custom tags.

when we drag-and-drop custom tag control in the source of jsp page, when we switch to the design view of jsp we should be able to view controls as desired.
Observation: 1) Eclipse 3.2 doesn't have design view for jsp pages.
    2) which software uses the design view. we need to extend eclipse core framework and we do not find any technical approach document to proceed further on this.
    3) RAD 6.0 we can see a JSP in design view.
I'm searching for any technical approach document to create plugin that can intercept the custom tags and provide a design view.
Will any one suggest the plugin for that.

    Jeff,
I have checked with engineering and found that JSP Design View support on
Linux is a planned feature for the next release. I don't think we will have
this feature as part of a Service Pack for 8.1

  • Prompting a "Save As" dialog for an accepted mime type

    Hi ,
I am using the following code to prompt a "Save As" dialog bod for an xls file:
    response.setHeader("Content-disposition","attachment; filename=test.xls");
This does work, it prompts the save as dialog box with the name "test.xls" if i click on save. However if i click on open, it displays an error saying the file could not be found.
Any idea how to specify a custom file name for an accepted mime type?
    Thanks in advance

Ok let me try & be more clear.
I have a JSP page. In this page there is an "Create Excel" link. When this link is clicked, the JSP dynamically creates the data. Then the following code:
    response.setContentType("application/vnd.ms-excel");
    response.setHeader("Content-disposition","attachment; filename=test.xls");
This causes the file save dialog box to be created. This dialog box has "open" & "save" options.
When the save option is clicked, the user is prompted to save a file named test.xls. However if the user clicks on the "Open" dialog box, then the file is not opened,i get an error message saying the file does not exist.
    If i dont specify the
    response.setHeader("Content-disposition","attachment; filename=test.xls");
Then the file save dialog box displays a default filename which is the same as name of my servlet. This works for both Open as well as save options.
I hope i have not confused you further..:)
    Please help!

  • How to create a custom file dialog box/vi (win)??

    Hello,
I'd like to create a custom file dialog box to handle the reading of my tdms files. Basicly I want to extend the existing file select dialog box with a graphical preview of the data in the selected file. I know I can create all the logic for file selection by hand and use a list box to display the filelist, but I would rather prefer to somehow use the existing windows controls. So is it possible to get the windows file selector on the front panel of a vi and react to the user selection? If so, is there any example available on how to do this? Any other options? I'm using labview 8.2
    thanks for your input!
    klaus

    Klaus,
I wouldn't know that Microsoft provides access to the controls that Explorer and file dialog consist of.
There might be a different and more powerful solution though. The
WINDOWS Explorer / file dialog have a plugin API that allows you to
associate your own application for thumbnail creation with a particular
file extension. That way, TDMS thumbnails will show in any instance of
    Explorer and
File Dialog without you having to make your own dialog. Basically, you
would need to compile the VI that creates the thumbnail into a
LabVIEW-built DLL and then wrap this DLL with some C++ boilerplate code
that Microsoft provides. You might want to have a look at the bottom of
this article to get an idea of how the whole thing works:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/0600/w2kui2/default.aspx.
    Hope that helps,

  • Importing Custom Classes into a JSP page

    Hello,
I have created custom package com.srjgroup.report. It sits in C:\workspace\src\com\srjgroup\report directory. I have java files as well as compiled classes there. No jar files there.
did amend classpath to point to this directory.
In my JSP page I have the import statement as following
import="java.sql.*, java.util.*, java.text.SimpleDateFormat, com.srjgroup.report.*"It imports all the packages without any errors. However, when I try to use one of the classes in the package, I get error
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: Unable to compile class for JSP
An error occurred at line: 3 in the jsp file: /SQLServer.jsp
    Generated servlet error:
SRJReports cannot be resolved to a type
SRJReports is one of the classes that I am trying to use in that package. When I comment out all references to the class, everything is fine.
So, to fix this I moved the entire package to
C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF\lib direcory, preserving the hierarhy. So, now my custom package is located here:
C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF\lib\com\srjgroup\report again there are no jar files, only java and classes here. Still, no go.
What am I doing wrong ?

    Put the class in
    C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF\classes\com\srjgroup\report
One more thing, there is no subdirectory in lib directory. You may look at the example within tomcat for reference. I start from there.

  • Problem with custom print dialog in Illustrator cs3 on OS X

    Hello Illustrator Support Forum,
I am an IT systems administrator and I have a user that has a problem when printing from Illustrator to our Ricoh photocopier.  The problem is that Illustrator uses its own custom print dialog and not the default mac os x system one.  This prevents the print job from going through because it does not send the required user code along with the print job.
A work around we found was to print to Adobe Distiller creating a pdf then printing from there but this definately not ideal.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you,
    - Vince

    Hi Larry,
Thanks for the tip.  This makes it a bit easier of a work-around but its still not a fix for the initial problem of printing directly through Illustrator.

  • Set custom page size for printing

I want to set a custom page size for printing some PDF three and four-page musical scores to roll paper on an Epson 1290 using Adobe Reader 9.3.4 on Ubuntu 10.04. The printer properties in the print dialog has a media size option, and one of the choices is "custom", but having chosen "custom", the dialog does not allow me to add the actual page size to the lpr printer command. I can see that when I choose "custom", the lpr command is
    lpr -P Stylus-Photo-1290 -o PageSize=Custom etc
but what I need for a three page output, for example, is
    lpr -P Stylus-Photo-1290 -o PageSize=Custom.297x630mm etc
and I can't see how to add the actual custom paper size. If I Ok the media size choice dialog with it just set to PageSize=Custom, I can see from the output preview in the print dialog that the actual page size that has been chosen is letter. The online Adobe doc for Reader 9 printing (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Reader/9.0/content.html#heading2.3) says "For documents that are larger than the standard page size, go to File  > Page Setup.  Create a custom page size before you print your  document". The problem with that is that there is no "Page Setup" option on the File menu in the Unix version of Adobe Reader, only a "Print" option, which is where I already am.
If I open the PDFs in Evince, it allows me to add the custom page sizes I want, but as Evince doesn't have the option to print multiple pages per sheet I can't use it either...

Yes, it used to work, and the resize zoom bar used to work too (now its grayed out). I don't know if this is a "who's to blame for it" thing, but its not getting fixed and its pretty bad that no one seems to care enough even to respond. I found my own solution by opening it in Gimp. Just right click and select open with other ...Gimp and it will import into it. In the Gimp Print dialog, you have a scaling percentage in the "Page Setup" tab, and size settings in the "Image settings" plus loads of other stuff including multiple copies.

    1) Exactly as presented in help.sap.com (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/3f/1be040e136742ae10000000a155106/content.htm) I created custom login module and deployed it as a library on J2EE server. When I configured it to be used for my applications in the Security provider but I am getting "No user name provided" exception everytime when my applications use this custom login module.
    2) I realized that I would need to call my custom module somewhere within my application (simple JSP) using LoginContext class and then use MyLoginContext.login() spec to initiate login process. But I am not able to pass CallbackHandler parameters from JSP application to my custom login module.
So I have the following questions:
    1. Can I pass parameters using LoginContext and CallbackHandler from JSP to my custom login module (created as exact copy of HELP.SAP.COM example) or this module cannot be used this way.
    2. How to pass CallbackHandler correctly to my custom login module from JSP. When I am trying to use CallbackHandler, I am getting "Abstract Class cannot be called" error.
I'd appreciate any little help on this matter.
    Thanks and regards,
    Mike

You have two alternatives to do this:
You can declare your JSP as a protected resource with the use of the deployment descriptors of the application (web.xml) and add the custom login module in the authentication stack of the application. This way, you will use container-based authentication, i.e. the Web Container will enforce the authentication and it will call the custom login module before it dispatches to the JSP. I recommend you this approach because it requires less coding and it makes the whole thing a matter of configuration. The configuration can be later on enhanced or changed runtime without the need to re-build and re-deploy the application. If you choose this approach you can go to the documentation of the server for help on how to modify the login module stack of the application.
You can also use programmatic authentication by using JAAS API. To do this you need to create a custom security policy configuration with login module stack containing the custom login module, and then use the standard JAAS mechanism - new LoginContext(<configuration>, <callback-handler>).login(). This approach requires that you write your own callback handler and handle any LoginException.
Let us know which approach you prefer and whether you have difficulties implementing it!
