Custom properties panel

Is it possible to create or modify a properties panel in DW
MX 2004? I
use PHP and my form fields all have their value set by a
function, and
their class set the same way (the CSS for a field with an
error is
different than one w/o any errors). So a text input looks
like:
<input name="First_Name" type="text" class="<?php echo
setClass('First_Name') ?>" value="<?php echo
getVal('First_Name') ?>"
What I would like to do is modify the templates for edit
dialog so that
I don't have to do so much cut-n-paste. Ideally it would
automatically
enter the <?php echo getVal('') ?> into the value
attribute, and read
the value of the name attribute into the getVal() call.

only if you made them components could you assign custom properties using a panel.

  • Custom info panel from CS5 not showing in CS6

Do I need to move the custom panel entry from
"\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\3.0\custom" to a new location?
Also on a related front, at NAB I was asking about adding dropdown boxes to entries so we could standardize on a few set entries to make searching easier. I couldn't get an answer there - any ideas on the forums?

You can design custom metadata panels - I have one for Client's name, project name, element type, Approved, etc. Whenever we generate files for a client we try to get the data filled in. It makes searching for clips from previous projects much quicker. The custom panel isn't showing in Bridge - i usually appears at the bottom of the metadata list after "File Properties" IPTC Core" etc.
The dropdown box question - Some of the data we want to be picked from a list to make searching more acurate. For instance - "Element Type" would either be "Interview", "Background", "Logo", etc. We just wnat everyone labeling things with the same terms. (See "Property Release Status" under the IPTC Extension)

  • Using SDK to create custom XMP panel in Bridge CS4

Using the SDK materials how exactly does one go about creating their own custom XMP panel for Bridge CS4?
I feel like I'm getting close- I was able to copy the BasicControlSamplePanel folder from SDK to my local C drive @
    C:\Documents and Settings\tony\Application Data\Adobe\XMP\Custom File Info Panels\2.0\panels
I figure once that file is in the right place I can simply modify it to get custom fields
Now when I did this I noticed in Bridge when rightclicked on an image and clicked file info- the  BasicControlSamplePanel tab was visible but upon clicking on BasicControlSamplePanel tab there was nothing in this dialogue box. Tried restarting computer- and still nothing- seems like it is the correct folder what do I need to do to get the properties to show up
    Help please
    Thanks
    Tony

    Hi Tony,
please refer to the section "Creating custom XMP properties using XML" in the XMP FILEINFO SDK PROGRAMMER’S GUIDE for information how to create custom panels for the metadata panels in applications like Bridge or Premiere.

  • Inserting exif in a custom info panel

how can i add exif details into a brand new custom info panel for cs4. i am trying to create a single panel which will consolidate information from several "default" panels into a single custom panel.
    morgan

    Hi Morgan,
the most flexible way to create a custom panel, is to use our SDK.
Please have a look at XMP FileInfo SDK 5.1, which you can download here:
    http://download.macromedia.com/pub/developer/xmp/sdk/XMP-FileInfo-SDK-5.1.zip
    (ZIP, 2.75 MB)
You can also add existing properties like EXIF to a custom panel.

  • Custom XMP panels don't show in Bridge CS4's Metadata palette

I've got a CS4 custom XMP panel working (using the "Generic" panel in the SDK) but I can't get it to display in the metadata palette of Bridge CS4 (the thing normally bottom right in the default Bridge "essentials" view).
In the old CS3 format, you could do this by adding an "fbname" attribute to fields of the custom panel. How do we now do this in the new SDK?
The Bridge metadata palette is mentioned on page 25 of the SDK programmer's guide, but the example given is merely of Dublin Core keywords (i.e. dc:subject) so shows in the Bridge metadata palette by default already.

Following on from this question, is it possible to build up a Metadata panel group of fields drawn from different namespaces? (by group I mean something like the IPTC Core label and arrow which expands into the IPTC fields).
One would have a heading such as "My data", which when expanded shows x fields from one namespace #1 and y fields from namespace #2. I've tried to do this by leaving the namespace blank and hardcoding it and the prefix into the properties' name argument - eg http://ns.adobe.com/photoshop/1.0/photoshop:Urgency
    Hope this isn't a hijack!

  • Save custom properties to MDS

    Hello all,
I was wondering if it was possible to save custom properties to MDS.
In my case I have a panelDashboard where the user can manually switch panels and add/close panels.
I keep track of the panels in a managed bean. Now, whenever a panel change occurs I would like to persist a list of panel ids to MDS.
Is it possible to programmatically read/write custom properties from/to MDS?
    Using JDev 11.1.1.5

  • How do I pin the DW properties panel to the bottom of the editor?

I use the Accordion widget quite a lot, and to edit it I use the Properties panel. Until recently, it had been pinned to the bottom of the DW editor. However the techs at Adobe, in their infinite wisdom, decided to change it into a free floating panel, or I can pin it to the side of the editor. For me, this is absolutely a PITA. It's far easier for me to have it docked/pinned at the bottom of the editing window. Is there any way for the Properties panel to be pinned/docked at the bottom of the editor?
    Thanks

Click the properties window's named tab and drag it to the edge of the application frame. When the edge highlights, let go.
Incidentally, you can do that with all of the windows in DW to create your own custom workspace by attaching windows to each other or to the sides/bottom of the application frame. The Insert panel can even be turned into button icons in the top toolbar if dropped there (very handy space saver).
Get everything set the way you like, go to Window > Workspace Layout > New... to give it a name and save it.

  • Custom Metadata Panel and Palette

    Hi,
We have created a custom metadata panel file and placed that file to the particular folder mentioned in user guide, and we can able to see/edit/save the custom metadata properties in FileInfo menu.
But we need a new Palette in Adobe Bridge CS3 GUI to see this custom metadata and edit the details onto that palette (as same as in FileInfo menu). Is there any possiblities to do that?
    Regards,
    Karthik

Not sure I understand what you are asking, but I think it's that you want to add a section in the Metadata panel that is shown via Window > Metadata Panel. On that assumption, does this help?

  • CS4 Custom Metadata Panels : "Generic" : Ability to display block of predefined text in panels ?

I am in the process of converting a number of CS3 custom metadata panels to the Adobe CS4 Suite using the "Generic" panel included with the current SDK. After reading though the documentation on the "Generic" panel, it seems that there is no easy way to define a block of predefined, non-editable text (a legal disclaimer for example) within a CS4 "Generic" panel.
Note that this is text that is not actually embedded into an image or editable, but rather a block of predefined text that simply displays within the panel itself.
When creating CS3 custom panels, a predefined text block was easily displayed using a combination of the "width:", "height:" and "static_text:" parameters.
Has anyone been able to replicate this using the CS4 "Generic" panel?
Thanks in advance for your time and effort...

    James,
Alternative: XMP FileInfo SDK page 40, the attribute description= displays static text as a mouse-over tooltip operation on a single field.
This applies to custom XMP properties in a custom namespace. The standard in-the-box XMP properties description= cannot be modified via a custom .xml schema definition as far as I can determine. (I tried, and mine were ignored.)

  • CP8 Eyedropper in Properties Panel

This seems odd. Changing a color from the properties panel doesn't use your color swatches. It uses some default. So then using the eyedropper tool to select a color from your swatches panel not only selects the color but then also changes the color of the element selected in the swatches panel.
Example: Open color picker in shadow and reflection area of properties panel. The color I want is not in the default swatches. So I use the eyedropper to select my color from the swatches panel and both the shadow AND my text (or fill or stroke or highlight) change to that color.
Yes I'm aware of a few workarounds but is this how the eyedropper is supposed to work when used from the proprieties panel on the swatches panel?

Can I ask you to log a feature request? I would call the present collaboration between the swatches panel (only place where you can import a custom color palette) and the color dialog boxes everywhere (not only for Fill/Stroke but also for Theme Colors in CP8) at the least 'cumbersome' and 'confusing'. Sorry, Adobe, I logged several requests to improve those work flows. You have to be sure to choose the right option in the Swatches panel, before choosing the color picker which is not intuitive at all, unexpected.

  • Cross Farm: User Profile Custom Properties do not show up in the consumer farm web applications

I have a two SharePoint 2010 farms, one is the publishing farm and user profile service is running on this farm. I have defined a couple of new custom properties, and after a while these custom properties do not show up at the consumer farm end.
So, on the publishing farm, I can udpate the user profiles with values in these custom properties. However, neither the custom properties nor the values got synchronized to the consumer farm. What puzzled me further is that some of the existing custom properties
exist on the consumer farm, but not the new custom properties I recently added.
    1. I have made sure the application pool accounts on both the farms being added to the administrators with full control permission in UPS on the publishing farm.
    2. The User Profile Service proxy (connected to the publishing farm UPS application)  is associated with all the web applications on the consumer farm.
    3. When values in the user profiles on the publishing farm changed, these changes do not get replicated to the consuming farm user profiles. This symptom occurs on both custom and OOB user profile properties.
However, I cannot find any other related information on the web, nor from the ULS logs.

    Hi,
As I understand, it did not display the new custom properties you defined in the publishing farm at the consumer farm end.
    1. Check if the topology Discovery Service Application runs well in consuming farm. In the Central Administration, it is the Application Discovery and load Balancer Service Application, check if it starts.
In the IIS, it is the topology, check if it starts.
    2. Check the permissions have been established if you have established consumer farm permissions on Provider Farm before you publish the service application.
        1. Go to Central Administration and going to “Manage Service Applications”.
        2. Click on “Application Discovery and Load Balancer Service Application” and click “Permissions” from the ribbon.
Your farm GUID should be listed with full permissions.

  • Retrieving empty values from multi value string in user profile custom properties

    Hi,
I created a webpart to save and retrieve data from custom properties. I use the code below to get the stored data:
    for (int i = 0; i < profile[property].Count; i++)
    Item = profile[property][i] == null ? string.Empty : profile[property][i].ToString();
    list.Add(Regex.Split(Item, @"\,\#"));
    Nothinig special about it.
In my development environment, it works fine. The problem is  in my UAT environment. I'm facing an issue that i hope someone has been through. When the custom property is a multi value string type, it returns a empty string. I tested with HTML and single
value fields and it works fine.
Independently of the field type, it saves the data all right.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks!!

    Thanks, Chitvan Jain.
I did as you suggested, but nothing changed. The problem is that profile[propname] comes already blank when using multi value property, even if there is data  to be retrieved.
One funny thing is that, somehow the code manages to count the number of values there is in the property. Only the data is missing. We can see the exact number of column, cause i check if there's the right number of data, if there isn't, i add up  a empty
string on the grid cell, but only for viewing. The empty string is not stored in the property.
