Custom swatches keep disappearing
Hello,
I am using Illustrator CS4 14.0.0
I have saved a Workspace that includes a User Defined swatch. (see attachment).
Even though I have saved the workspace, when reopening the program, it goes back to the regular swatches that come with the program. Are we not able to save custom swatch panel in a workspace?

Mike, checking Persistant seemed to have worked for me. I quit the program, reopened and it was still there. Keeping my fingers crossed.

My custom ringtones keep disappearing
I have set custom ringtones (for certain contacts) in my iPhone 6+. All the ringtones were downloaded from iTunes. I set a custom ringtone on the phone, but later the ringtone changes to the "opening" tone in place of all my custom tones. It only does this for custom tones, not those set to the phone's default ring.
I've noticed that it happens after I access a contact on my iMac. If I use only the iPhone to to view contact information, the custom tone stays there. But if I access a contact on the iMac, then go back to the iPhone, once again the ringtone is the one called "Opening."
I have synced the phone with iTunes on the computer, and the ringtones are in my iTunes library.
On a related note, the Contacts app on my iMac will not allow me to set ringtones for a contact. Again, the ringtones are there in iTunes, I just cannot use them.
Any suggestions?The exact same thing happens to me. Twice I downloaded a minions ringtone and text tone, and twice it vanished.... I am not wasting any more money to feed these people, as they dont seem to care that they are taking your money each time. WHAT THE **** IS HAPPENING APPLE? WHY ARE OUR TONES DISAPPEARING? PLEASE ANSWER.....

Custom toolbar keeps disappearing in 4 beta 12
Just switched from Firefox 3.6 to 4 beta 12, using Mac Snow Leopard. On my old version, I had a custom toolbar with the search box, various extensions as well. This has disappeared in 4 beta 12.
I created a new custom toolbar, but every time I restart Firefox the custom toolbar disappears. It also does not appear in the View/Toolbars menu. I use a number of functions at work, so I really need this toolbar! Thanks.I had this problem too. I don't know what it is about me but no one ever responds to my questions, so no one answered when I posted one about this. But I *FINALLY* got in touch with a live chat volunteer the other day, and found out it was one of my toolbars made by Conduit. The Conduit Engine and the Zynga Toolbar are both made by Conduit and both contributed to this problem. Check if you have ANY add-ons made by Conduit, and disable them and see if that helps. If it doesn't, try disabling addons/resetting toolbars in safe mode AND deleting localstore.rdf. Then restart Firefox in normal mode, make a custom toolbar, and restart again. If the toolbar stays that time, then enable your add-ons ONE AT A TIME (i.e. restarting after each one), until the problem reappears. When it does…you know which add-on was the culprit. XD And if it doesn't reappear…then congratulations. XD

Hard Drives Keeps Disappearing Windows 8.1
I just recently upgraded to Win 8.1. I have 3 hdds. Win is installed on Samsung SSD. The other hdds is for software and for games. The gaming hard drive keeps disappearing. I have to restart the computer to get it show again in My Computers. Also I notice
sometimes when I restart my boot order keeps changing. I have to go into the bios and change the load order back to my SSD to the 1st priority. Can someone help with this issue?Hi wjason777,

Hardware related issue please contact your provider.
For your issue, when you reboot you can press F2 or F12 to load your boot menu. However, please notice the key depends on your hardware. It migth also be F5. So you may have to contact your computer provider about this issue.
If you can open that Boot menu. Please try search for boot order. Then you will be able to change the order.
By the way, if SSD keeps disappear, I think it is poor contact. I will recommend you contact your provider for more details.

I created this custom swatch palette which allows a person to keep swatch info in this palette and instantiate it in documents. The palette can store notes about a particular swatch and there is a save button somewhere which will save your palette state as an xml file.

The principles of this method are to draw by reading the string object and that;s how you can change colors and things by changing the eval-led objects and redrawing them with putting an updating function into OnDraw and hiding/showing the element to force the OnDraw. I started the CC (PS & LR) for Mac in October. Twice now the LR shows as "Install" instead of being one of my installed apps. The first time I spent 3 hours on the phone with customer support. He finally recommended deleting the app from my applications and then installing again. This worked for awhile but now LR no longer shows up as one of my apps. LR is on my Mac though and I have been able to use it, although I'm not using all it's features. Any clue as to why LR keeps disappearing form my CC apps?

Jeff, my rant is not directed at you as an employee of ADOBE - your prompt feedback is appreciated and will aleviate some of the antagonism I feel against ADOBE because of the business unit's decisions with litlle regard of the user's buying and using the software.

I love what the software engineers are doing with the software and appreciate the individuals whose job (ADOBE employees/help desk sub-contractors) it is to try and assist, but, ADOBE’s image is tarnished in my eyes by their new subscription policy they are forcing on end-users.
So many great technologies have been killed of or completely missed an oppertunity to evovle to greatness. (Director, Freehand, Flash, Flex, etc...) -
Signature in Mac Mail keeps disappearing
I have to keep pasting the same signature in every e-mail, it will not retain my customer signature after the mail application has been closed. Couldn't find much info on this online, does anyone have any ideas?
I have the exact same problem. The image in the signature keeps disappearing. I can speculate that closing the mail app causes it to "forget" the image whilst leaving an empty Bo's in its place.
I'm using iOS 7 on iPad air.

Space on boot volume keeps disappearing - crisis
One of my customers has a Mac Pro running OSX Server 10.4.9. It was installed last October and was running fine until a few days ago. It's running afp, firewall, nat, dhcp, dns, mail, print, web (for webmail) and windows services.
The only non-Apple things running on the machine are Now Contact/Up To Date server, Timbuktu and Retrospect. I have the same combination running on the same model hardware elsewhere without problems.
The boot volume had about 85gb free and mail has its own dedicated volume. The boot volume is not shared or used by anyone.
Then I had a call from the customer saying mail wouldn't send out. When I looked at the machine, the problem was that there was exactly 0 bytes available on the boot volume and postfix couldn't find queuing space.
I deleted all the rubbish - dmg files from various installs, other files 'parked' on the dekstop etc. and got back about 8Gb. I made a note to look at the machine on my next visit and thought that was it.
The 8Gb disappeared within a couple of hours. This time I looked a bit harder (partly because there wasn't any rubbish left to delete). Naturally, there were no files visible to finder that would account for the space used. My frantic but fairly superficial spin through ls -l in a terminal didn't show me any 'new' folders I didn't recognise. Looking at Activity Monitor, I saw that there was almost constant disk write activity going on, even though the users were apparently 'hands off' their machines. The only process using any cpu time was the Now Contact event server - so I pounced on it, thinking it was bound to be the culprit, being a buggy piece of software at the best of times. When I killed the process, the disk writing stopped.
I got on the phone to Now Software and they told me every place they THOUGHT the program wrote to - nothing. I restarted the machine and made sure the Now Software stuff wasn't running. Everything seemed stable, except I still hadn't figured out where the lost space was. However, it started again the next night.
Over the past few days I've been fightng a running battle to keep space above zero. I've now deleted everything in applications, utilities, library etc that I can live without and I've even gone as far as clearing every log file, but the space keeps disappearing. I'm now down to 150Mb and there's nothing left to delete so I have to find out where it's all really going to.
I have done a file search on all the usual combinations - visible/inivisible, created/modified/bigger than/smaller than etc but nothing stands out.
Is the server being attacked? I've shut down windows and web, and SSH was always switched off. I've been watching system.log without seeing anything obvious happening. The server has been restarted many times so it's not a virtual memory thing (I think).
I'm depsarate. Where should I be looking?

Here's what I I learned (and it's obviously an accident since no-one on site would know how to do this deliberately):
There is a volume (a real hard drive) called Archive. It's got about 90-something Gb of stuff on it. There are also three other volumes but here's the thing about Archive. I failed to notice in my earlier quick scan that /volumes contains an item called 'Archive' AND an item called 'Archive 1' - each being about the same size. When, in the finder, I deleted a folder from Archive that they could live without, it was Archive 1 that got smaller as seen by du.
going cd /volumes/archive shows me just one folder (which doesn't exist on the real volume but did once).
going cd '/volumes/archive 1' shows me what appears to be all the folders that are supposed to be there (on Archive). I haven't trawled right through and done an entry-by-entry check.
On impulse, I've just loaded Workgroup Manager and looked at Sharing. Under 'All', the left hand pane shows the volumes I'd expect to see (and nothing else). Buuuuuuttttt....... under 'Share Points', the volume we know as Archive is called 'Archive 1' - with a custom afp name of 'Archive'.
What have they done? I don't know what to delete at this point; and the trouble is that I suspended backups last week (because the catalogue files were amongst the things I removed to get some space back). I'll have to do a manual backup of Archive, verify it, and then try deleting something and see what happens.
What I'd really like to know is what happened and how. For example, would anyone like to try and build a hypothesis whereby the server was brought up with Archive off-line, then, after some other event, Archive subsequently came on line? Is this how you might end up with two apparent volumes with the same name?

My spell check adblock and form fill addons keep disappearing
for some reason all of a sudden in the last week or so on the navigation bar where the spell check is and the form filler and the ad block icons are for the add ons they keep disappearing for that bar. i have to go into the customization section and drag them back to the place i had them. why is this going on. it did not happen until i got a request to update 3.6 i keep using 3.6 because that is the only version that allow the ABC spell check program and the form fill program and the ad block program. i would update to the latest if it would support these programs.

Reminders app alert time keeps disappearing on iPhone 4s
I use my phone's Reminders app frequently and have started having problems with the "Remind me on a day" option. Today I noticed that whenever I set a time and date for a reminder alert, it disappears after a few moments, leaving just the text I entered but no alert time (ie, a reminder to start dinner at 5:00pm on Tuesday will show up properly on the reminders home screen for a few seconds, and then the alert time will disappear, leaving just "Start Dinner"). Since the alert times keep disappearing, none of my reminders actually work at the moment. I also have weekly reminders that I've used for over a year but starting today they now show up as "(null), weekly" underneath the original reminder text.
I exited the app, restarted my phone and then did a hard reset, but nothing has changed the way the app is behaving. Creating a reminder through Siri just gives me the same problem. I haven't done anything out of the ordinary with my phone so I'm not sure why it's not working properly. Thanks for any help you can give!

The 2-step verification you need to set up before anything. It's just another way of protecting yourself from idiots. You'd get a code from your phone that helps you sign in on PC. But this stupid "Reminder" stuff is killing me. I had to do a total wipe of my phone and make it like a brand new phone again with nothing on it. And even after all that when I went to test a new reminder I'd put in...it did the same thing just shut itself off. Didn't say "null" tho just kept shutting itself off. I even made a new list not tied to my yahoo...did the same thing. So after all that I just went back in and restored my phone to the way I originally had it. I figured it wasn't anything on my phone and it had to be something with Apple itself and I wasn't going to spend hours just trying to remember what I had on here so that's why I just restored to the backup I had prior all this. I did call the guy I'm working with over at Apple and left a message that it didn't work again and I put phone back the way I had it. But I'm gonna try all this up on my PC to see if this works. Ugh this is just taking up my time and I've not yet heard back from the yahoo customer service guy I sent the pics too showing him these issues...typical. I just feel that with so many having this issue that they need to report it to Apple so they can fix it or at least look into it. They won't do much just because I say there's so many others. I think I'm gonna try to copy that list from my yahoo and sync it with iCloud and see if that works and if it does then it was yahoo all along. Besides when I make that list with iCloud it won't be lost or anything ya know. Just seems like I'm having too many problems with yahoo stuff. I do have a gmail but don't use it like yahoo because they spy on you and share things etc. but outlook is synced to Apple so might be worth a shot to start using them. I do t know anymore I'm at a lost

Memory on my macbook air keeps disappearing. I have 120 gigs and I am down to 150mb without adding any files.
Thanks...I have tried the various options and the only item of interest is that my only account on this computer says it has 102 gig of memory used up. However, when I open and look at the individual files, they add up to less than 15 gigs.

Final cut wont open and keeps disappearing while loading
Since friday, I am trying to open final cut and wont let me, it disappears as soon as it starts loading. I restarted the mac so many times and I have reinstalled final cut and nothing. keeps disappearing.

Firefox not only disappears from my dock but also from my Applications folder. I tried to downl0ad it again today (5/19/2011), however, it says my system isn't compatible because I don't have an Intel processor. Any suggestions. I have problems with Safari and like to use Firefox but can't if it keeps disappearing and then Mozilla tells me that I can't install after I have already downloaded the application.

ICal Tasks/To Do Items Keep Disappearing, plus search function doesn't work
Ever since I upgraded my Mobile Me calendars about two or three weeks ago, which as I understand makes my calendars now LIVE on the Mobile Me cloud instead of directly on my computers, I have had nothing but trouble with iCal. I use Bento with iCal for my project management system — I use the iCal Tasks for my basic information, and I added extra fields in Bento for other details I like to track. Anyway, the upgrade completely unhinged where those two came together so that the basic information that Bento was getting from iCal no longer matched with the extra details.
But that's no longer my problem. I fixed that easily by completely changing the way I track things now — I did away with the extra fields and decided to have Bento work directly and only with the information in my iCal app.
Still, another problem came up, the one I need an answer to. New tasks I entered through Bento, wouldn't KEEP on iCal. They'd show up momentarily, but a day or two later, they would be gone.
I thought I fixed it a few days ago when I discovered that Time Zone Support wasn't checked on iCal. I made sure it was checked on all my computers AND on Mobile Me because I suspected that Tasks were disappearing every time my computers synced with Mobile Me. It seemed to work fine after making sure everything supported time zones. I even synced a few times, just to test it, checked all calendars at all places, and whatever Tasks or To Do Items I added from within Bento appeared to sync fine, appear at all the proper places, at all instances of the calendars, AND stay put.
BUT I just discovered tonight, that the new Tasks I entered in the last week for one of my calendars have ONCE AGAIN disappeared. For some reason, though, the new tasks I entered for another one of my calendars managed to stay put. I have no idea why one calendar was affected and another wasn't.
The point is, I can't for the life of me figure out why my newly entered Tasks keep disappearing. Is it an iCal thing? Is it Mobile Me? Is it because I am entering the tasks/to do items from within Bento? What?
And the icing on the cake? The search function on the iCal app on one of my computers no longer works. I will search for a task/to do item that I KNOW is there and can actually see on the side bar, but it will not pop up in the search results. I searched online about how to fix that, but none of the fixes work — many of them, I believe, are outdated and so can't work in my case.

Notes in iCal keep disappearing since Yosemite
My notes on my recurring calendar events keep disappearing. I have tried adding them through iCloud.com and that will work for a couple of days and then they will disappear. This happens when I add notes via my MacPro, Macbook Pro or iPhone. I can't find anything related while searching the discussions in the last couple of years.
