Custom worklist  application integration with BPEL cluster

Hi all,
I've setup a BPEL cluster using the Enterprise installation guide for 10.1.3.3.0. Currently we have a custom worklist application which is works when deployed on an installation SOA suite (10.1.3.1.0). The integration of claiming or setting an outcome works fine. We use the remote EJB to integrate with the workflow services.
However when testing the application on a cluster, we are getting the following log message in the log file for the custom application:
Questions:
1) What should be the value of the host name in the server URL since in a cluster a remote HTTP server. The HTTP server uses a virtual URL via the loadbalancer.
2) What should be the port number? Should it be the opmn request port from the $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/conf/opmn.xml
Anything else that i'm missing, please let me knoe.
Thanks in advance.

  • Custom JCA Adapter integration with BPEL

    The stock FTP Adapter provided with BPEL does not have a feature I require, so I am creating a custom JCA FTP adapter that does only one thing: when it is invoked, it polls a directory for any existing files, and then returns the number of files in that directory.
    The Adapter Developer Cookbook ( http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/adapters/pdf/Adapter%20Development%20cookbook.pdf ) is about as clear as mud, and hasn't been updated for 10.1.3.
    Are there any other resources that explain how you go from having your .java source files for your JCA adapter to having a working custom adapter in BPEL?

    Hello Tlwi,
    I guess you already figured out of writing custom JCA adapter, do you mind sharing your thoughs or document you may have. I tried to follow the cookbook, but was really looking for sample template code which I can change to make my own adapter.
    Thanks,
    Chintan

  • Problems with building custom worklist application

    I'am trying to build a custom worklist application using this: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/integration.1111/e10224/bp_worklistcust.htm
    Here is the code I've built so far (it si quite simple but, for now, I'm just trying to get hold of the concepts involved):
    public class Test {
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    IWorkflowServiceClient wfsc = WorkflowServiceClientFactory.getWorkflowServiceClient(WorkflowServiceClientFactory.REMOTE_CLIENT);
    ITaskQueryService queryService = wfsc.getTaskQueryService();
    IWorkflowContext context;
    try {
    context = queryService.authenticate("jstein", "welcome1".toCharArray(), null);
    } catch (WorkflowException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();

    I would appreciate any help. I'm really stuck with this..
    Thanks! :)

    I've finally found a solution to this problem. The problem was that I was trying to connect to a workflow api on the *7001* port but that wasn't the correct port. The correct port is *8001*.
    I came to this conclusion quite accidental (or out of desperation if you like).
    What I don't understand is that in every single official Oracle document about workflow and worklist the port they were targeting was *7001*. I have to emphasize that I installed SOA 11g suite with all default settings.
    Problem solved, moving on.

  • Building Custom Worklist application in 11g using wlfullclient.jar

    Hi,
    Can anybody mention me the detailed steps to be followed to build a custom Worklist application.
    I have created a Web application jdev 11g
    I placed the following url to create
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E1552301/integration.1111/e10224/bp_worklistcust.htm_+
    placed the following jars in classpath
    Wsclient_extended.jar
    Bpm-services.jar
    Bpm-infra.jar
    Wlfullclient.jar
    xmlparserv2.jar
    xml.jar
    I did not find this bpm-services-client.jar* anywhere in the SOA stack. I am missing this??
    and also place wf_client_config.xml under src folder the content is as below
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?>
    <workflowServicesClientConfiguration xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/bpel/services/client">

    And I have placed web.xml and weblogic.xml under WEB-INF folder.
    I do not have any compile time error.
    But when I am trying to deploy the application I am getting the following error.
    If i remove the wlfullclient.jar I am not getting this error as it is trying to load something while deployment.

    I am new to BPEL. I am working on a sample .
    I am working on ADF Integration with BPEL process.
    I have an ADF Screen displaying data from an EMPLOYEE table in HR Schema . It has a button called "Update". I need to call a synchronous BPEL process on click of "Update" . This BPEL process will take the selected employee information as an XML input and update the last name to the first name as the response.
    I have some doubts in that :
    1. How to pass an XML Schema as input parameter to a BPEL process ? Can you please let me know some sample applications ?
    2. I am creating a web proxy for the BPEL WSDL (created above) and my "Update" button is binded to a method which is calling the BPEL process.
    How can i pass my XML input as the argument of the method to invoke the BPEL process ?
    Thanks
    Nutan

    When using a web service proxy, you need to pass the data as an object, which' structure is defined in the web service proxy wrapper classes.
    When you've defined a data control for your bpel process, you can just drag and drop the 'initiate'/'execute', your operation and bind this to the update-button.
    When working with the proxy client, you need to populate your java class objects with the employee-object, this can be done in a backing bean or managed bean in your adf faces application.
    For more information you can always have a look at my blog where I've provided an explanation about the different possibilities of interfacing adf with SOA.
    Kind regards,

  • Third Party Application Integration with Oracle EBS Without any middleware

  • BPEL transaction in custom worklist application

    Hi,
    How can we be sure about transaction while performing actions within worklist client?
    Such an example, we developed an application by using oracle soa suite worklist api's.
    Beside task updating,payload adjustion we need to do some other jobs including business logic in our java client application.
    In such cases, if there is an exception at java code, it doesnt commit to database but bpel integration code performs... Is there any way which you can control all this functions calling within one transaction? I want to rollback all if you come up with an exception.
    I found an xml attribute which you need to configure in wf client config.xml, we use RMI for performing actions...
    participateInClientTransaction true
    How does it work?
    Thanks for help,
    Regards...

    Hi,
    Every release of soa suite may have an updated version of the worklist application. So if you customize the application and upgrade your soa suite installation there may be ar risk you get into problems. However, most of the time the updated version solves existing bug and no more than that. An other issue is that if you are using the bpel libraries to connect to a bpel server the client always needs to be of the same version as the server. What you should do is:
    - get the new 10.1.3.3 version of the libraries or install JDeveloper 10.1.3.3
    - update your orabpel.properties file and make sure the bpel home is pointing to the new version
    - update/verify the build.xml that it is pointing to the new libraries
    - rebuild/compile your customized worklist app against the new libraries
    - redeploy the new worklist application to the 10.1.3.3 server
    Kind Regards,
    Andre

  • Problem getting custom workflow to work with BPEL Worklist

    I am currently working through the DocumentReviewWorklow custom workflow example in the Oracle Content Services 10g Custom Workflows document and cannot get the workflow to prompt approvers through the BPEL Worklist application that an action must be taken.
    When I run the workflow, the process gets to the point of calling the TaskActionHandler and the approver is told that a process is pending their approval in the Content Services Console.
    The following appears in the BPEL Process Manager when I Audit the workflow:
    onMessage (137) - pending
    [2006/03/20 08:57:42] Waiting for message from "TaskManagerService", operation is "onTaskSuspended".
    onMessage (126) - pending
    [2006/03/20 08:57:42] Waiting for message from "TaskManagerService", operation is "onTaskUpdated".
    onMessage (118) - pending
    [2006/03/20 08:57:42] Waiting for message from "TaskManagerService", operation is "onTaskErrored".
    onMessage (110) - pending
    [2006/03/20 08:57:42] Waiting for message from "TaskManagerService", operation is "onTaskWithdrawn".
    onMessage (102) - pending
    [2006/03/20 08:57:42] Waiting for message from "TaskManagerService", operation is "onTaskCompleted".
    onAlarm (161) - pending
    [2006/03/20 08:57:42] Alarm started. Alarm will go off at time "2006/03/22 08:57:42".
    onAlarm (156) - pending
    [2006/03/20 08:57:42] Alarm started. Alarm will go off at time "never".
    onAlarm (151) - pending
    [2006/03/20 08:57:42] Alarm started. Alarm will go off at time "never".
    After a period of time, the workflow eventually times-out because it is neither approved or disapproved. I have got the other non-blocking custom workflow examples to work without any problems.

    Thanks bnainani, you solved my problem!
    Despite the fact that the approver's username is in the Oracle Collabortion Suite OID as all lower case letters (and you can still login to worklist with lower case letters), you were right in saying that you have to use all upper case letters when logging into the worklist application in order to see the pending tasks.
    Just out of curiousity, do you have any idea why worklist requires upper case letters for the username?

  • App-V 5 SP2 (RDS) application integration with multiple office versions - general question

    So I have been testing Office 2013 with app-V 5 SP2 and the package size is a hefty 1+GB with Visio and Project thrown in and I am not convinced by the speed and efficiency of delivering office 2013 this way (shared content mode) so I am thinking of
    pre-installing Office 2013 on my XenApp servers instead.
    However, we have some applications that integrate with office 2007 as they are not yet certified with Office 2013. Am I right in thinking that if I package Office 2007 and add it to a connection group with the other application, then that app will use Office
    2007 regardless of Office 2013 being installed on the local OS?
    Thanks

    Hello,
    This depends on how it technically integrates with Office 2007. Without knowing, or testing, how that is done it is not possible to state which version will be used.
    See this general article on howto nativelly  install and use multiple versions of Office;
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290576/en-us
    I suggest you test your scenario and try to understand how your specific application interacts with Office.

    Perhaps you should have a closer look at the links you provided.  They don't have anything to do with WDA and Portal.  The first one is a dead link.  The second one is a 4 year old presentation on the Portal in general who's only mention of WDA is that it is "planned".  Your third link is the PDF or .NET and Java and once again has absolutely nothing to do with WDA.

  • Timeouts of applications integrated with SSO

    Hi,
    We integrated two applications with 10gAS SSO (using SSO SDK), but we have one problem. The timeouts of the applications are different. One of them is 2h and the other one is 15 minutes. The timeout should be counted form the last access time of either of the applications.
    Has anybody had a similar situation? If yes, how did you handle it?
    I am thinking about using a domain cookie that would contain the last access time to the applications. I will have to reset the timestamp in the cookie with each application call...
    But maybe there is a better way to do that?
    Thanks,
    Dmitry

  • Browser back button not working with ADF Application integrated with SSO

    I have integrated an adf application with Oracle SSO Authentication. Application is running fine.
    Though, while navigating between pages, using browser back button , it is not redirecting the url properly
    Should Redirect it to : http://<hostname>:<port>/<contex-root>/<servlet>/<id>
    Presently Redirecting it to :http://<hostname>:<port>/<contex-root>
    As, directory browsing is not allowed, there is Error 403--Forbidden .
    Can anybody tell what changes needs to be made to make browser back button work.

    In some of the documentation I have read, they have mentioned that using the back button in a browser doesn't work too well with any JSF type of application (not just ADF and Jdeveloper apps).
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15051_01/web.1111/b31974/web_form.htm#CFHHJGJH
    Instead, they suggest using buttons on the form.
    There is a video on using navigation between forms that may be of value: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsPtmRID5XI&feature=plcp

  • ADF application integrating with Oracle Web Cache

    Hello,
    I am trying to integrated my ADF 11g application with Oracle Web Cache. I used this link http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2010/06/oracle-webtier-11g-configuration-for.html for it.
    I am able to access my ADF application using webcache port 7785.
    I created few caching rules in the Oracle Web Cache. And in the popular request section of the Oracle Web cache i see jpg,png and other image files cached.
    But the issue is when the application access images like /testapp/test/images/abc.jpg?_adf.ctrl-state=5b0s7lzfo_29 . I created a caching rule with regular expression ^/testapp/test/images/[A-Za-z0-9_]*\.(gif|jpeg|png|jpg)\?_adf\.ctrl-state=[A-Za-z0-9_]*$.
    But when i access the popular request in em i don't see the URL given above as cached. The caching reason it specifies as URL contains query string.
    I am not sure if i need to do anything additional to cache these URL's as well.
    Thanks!
    Ram

    Yes that works. But my question is how to cache the urls which has querystring. I was trying to give a regular expression to match the url so that the url which contains parameters like _afrLoop which changes with each HTTP request can also be cached.
