Customer Service application on the Portal

Hello all,
I want to implement a customer service application in the Portal, Is there any business package for this?
We are using notifications in the CS module on our R/3 and want to make it available on the enterprise portal.

Hi Ron,
I don't know about CS BP, but if you want to use it in portal than there are two ways for that.
1. You can create transaction iview in Portal to use the same.
2. You can create a WebDynpro application for the same and used it in portal by creating WebDynpro iView in portal.
You will find lots of documents for both the methods.

How to get the source code of a PRT application in the portal

If its Java-based code have a look at the properties of an iView that belongs to the application in question and copy the value of the Code Link parameter e.g. 'com.sap.pct.hcm.rc_vacancyrequestov.default'.
Search the Portal installation directory under /j233/cluster/server/ for a .par.bak file of the same name, removing .default from the codelink parameter
e.g. com.sap.pct.hcm.rc_vacancyrequestov.par.bak
Copt this locally and import into Netweaver Developer Studio. You will have to decompilte the class files with a decompiler such as DJ Decompiler or Cavaj (search with Google).

How long does it take for a cancellation fee to process? I just cancelled today and the customer service agent say the cancellation payment went through, but i see no charge on my credit card. On the website it say my cancellation is effective in march 16

So far, all pointers on portalcatalog.oracle.com to the NFuse portlet has just referred to the Citrix website where NO information can be found!
Anyone know where to find the Citrix NFuse portlet(s) for Oracle Portal?!?

Uploading BSP application into the portal

Can anybody please tell me how to upload BSP application into the portal.i.e.,as how the Par file is getting uploaded into the portal.

Dear Mr. esukapelli,
you do not need to upload the BSP application into the portal. The BSP application is an application which runs on the backend system, where it has been created.
What you need to do is to create a BSP iview in the portal in order to call it on the backend server. In this iview you tell which system it is running on, and the application name. Check out: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/30/1b62799d786445a72ad85acb4fd55b/content.htm for help on how to create it on EP6.0
Make sure you create a system for the backend system in the portal. If you want Single-Sign-on between the BSP application and the backend, you need to configure SSO as well.

Old school with CS2. Haven't used in a while and am unable to use the program as it says my serial number is invalid. Customer service tells me the server for CS2 has been shut down. Then they sent me here for help. Does anyone have any advice?

I don't have a clue what I am doing with this. Here is my discussion with Customer Service:

CS2 is very old and reached its "end of life" a while back. So probably won't run on modern operating systems. If you can still run it, you'll need to uninstall what you have and re-install with the download link below to activate it.

Awful customer service experience over the phone this weekend

I’m sorry for your troubles. I have sent you a private message to assist you further.

I moved last weekend, and after I hooked up my wireless gateway, it showed I wasn't online. So, I called Customer service. After about 30 minutes on the phone with a guy, he said he would have to setup an appointment. That process took at least 10 minutes of him putting me on hold while he looked up the appointment. He said the next available one was this morning (Thursday) from 8-10, so I took it. I sat at my house this morning waiting on a technician who never showed. When I called customer service there was no record of my call this past weekend, or the appointment I made. I have very limited vacation time, and I do not want to spend it waiting on service that doesn't exist. So, I have to wait another 5 days to get service. Of course, you have already billed me for service that should have started on the 12th, but won't actually start until the 22nd! Of course, that is if someone actually shows up. I will believe it when I see it.

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE OPTIONS FOR THE DEAF!

I have been trying to get information on the Visa gift card I was sent. I placed an order online with Staples. AFTER the order was placed, I received an email saying they apologize, but the tablet is not in stock. The CSR at Staples claimed that my Visa card was not charged. However, when I took a look, the money had, in fact, been removed from the account. I was told to call the number on the back of the card, which is what I did or TRIED TO DO. The relay operator dialed, listened all the way through, then came back and said THERE IS NO OPTION FOR A LIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE. None. Also, when you enter the requested information like the tracking number, etc. you get your current balance, then you are cut off.
This is the type of thing that I abhore about Verizon. I want to know why they still have that charge listed on the card! Why is it necessary for it to remain there forever? As long as it is listed, I CANNOT MAKE ANOTHER PURCHASE. The tablet I ordered was $330.00, which took up almost the entire balance of the $400 Visa card. How in the heck is a hearing impaired person supposed to get any help if you do not provide the necessary services? It's as if you seem to think WE DO NOT EXIST! Why tie up those funds for days and days so that nothing else can be ordered?
I pay my bill on time EVERY MONTH! If I said to you it would take 3-5 days for me to make the payment past the due day, would you wait before cutting off my service? I don't think so. So why would you tie up the funds on my card, because you can't keep the accounts up to date? How much longer do I have to wait?????

1. This is a peer-to-peer support forum. If you want to get a message to Verizon, you should contact them directly via one of the options on their Contact Us page.
2. I would assume the number on the card goes to a VISA support line, not Verizon. Verizon doesn't own the card, they just give them out.

Using a custom login page for the portal

Hi all,
I'm currently doing a migration from Plumtree 4.5WS to Plumtree 5.0.4. In the current 4.5WS portal, I'm catering to 3 different login mechanisms due to time-lags in migration of my users' workstations. The 3 mechanisms are:
1) Smart Card Reader on Windows 95 using TLS (uses a client side ActiveX)
2) Smart Card Reader on Windows XP using SSL (uses client side ActiveX)
3) Java PKI Card on Windows XP using SSL (uses server side scripting)
To cater to the above, we've made customisations to login.asp and dologin.asp and also added a few scripts of our own.
I now need to migrate these over to Plumtree 5.0 as well. I've thought of 2 ways to do this:
1) Doing a custom view replacement of the Login View. This however has limitations as I'm not sure how the codes for the above 3 mechanisms will come in, especially 3), which involves server side scripting.
2) Creating a custom login and exit page. This is probably a much more feasible solution in my case as it allows me to freely create my login pages and exit pages accordingly to cater for the above. However to do this, I need to be able to customize the Log In and Log Off links on the Portal Banner in order to point these to my own login and exit pages.
Any ideas what is the best (or correct) way to do this?

AFAIK only one login.jsp is called.
But you can include logic into that one JSP file.
If referer = portal.company.com THEN
else
This way you can create different look and feel for different virtual hosts.
Login portlets have the disadvantage that https is not supported

I have developed a pure and simple Java Application just like a test, only Java, no EJB, no JSP. JUST PURE JAVA. I need to put this application in my Oracle9iAS Portal and i've found something about developing EAR and WAR. But i can't find the way to put my app in the portal.
Does anybody know how can i put my app in the portal? or what should i do?

Rude customer service/phone disconnected the

To whom it may concern. I got off work today at 2pm out to call AT&T to set up a payment arrangement as I do quite often. I have been a very satisfied customer up until today. I learn that my service was interrupted. I call and spoke to a representative, to ask if I can make a $100 payment today and pay the remaining on Friday (Payday!). This company has ALWAYS worked with me with arrangements in the past... ALWAYS! And I have NEVER missed a payment arrangement. I have a mother with CANCER that I help take care of with taking her to her Chemotherapy treatments etc. she is very weak with her illness, and needs to contact me with rides to appts. All I ask is for FOUR (4) more days and my acct will be up to date and paid in Full! The Rep was very RUDE and said yes you been an outstanding long time customer BUT no arrangements can be made after interruption. I can NOT have my phone out for any reasons whe working. As soon as I got off work I immediately went toy car to call AT&T for arrangements, only to find out I have NO SERVICE! You would think this company would understand. Instead of taking a partial payment and getting the rest in four days..... This company would rather a long time outstanding customer go without her phone to take care of her mother who has Chemotherapy treatments!?? I mean Really?? This is really SAD and I have NO MORE respect for a company that would rather turn off service for a past due balance of $250. I'm feelings are hurt! I feel very disrespect with talking to the customer service rep. At least show compassion..... Is it really worth losing a "Outstanding LONG TIME" customer that has a mother with CANCER!?? I assured the rep that the acct would be paid in four days! FOUR DAYS! I NO LONGER have
RESPECT for this company. The one time I really need this company to understand..... They could care less! And that is AWFUL service on your behalf

Custom html elements in the portal pages output rendering.

Hi,
This is regarding branding the site. Since we have to use common css for all web applications, the html output rendered by the AquaLogic doesn't give the required style.
AquaLogic generates html table elements for pages, columns, headers, footer etc. But we need <div> tags instead of 'table' & 'td' tags. If this is not possible 'table' EMBEDDED inside 'div' will also help us.
See for example DIV tag is placed (see 2nd line in given html) around the columns

Some of your post was garbled due to HTML-escaping issues, but I think what you're asking is for a DIV-based layout rather than that TABLE-based layout for MyPages and Communities.
One of our customers asked us for exactly the same thing and I'm working with an on-site designer to come up with something DIV-based. If it's possible, it's going to require extensive customizations to MyPortalContentView.java or MyPortalContentView.cs (if you're on .net). Using dynamic discovery (more specifically, View Replacement) is the way to go, but this task is a bit daunting, even for me (and I've been working with Plum/ALUI for almost ten years).
If I can get something working, I promise to post a solution on [url http://dev2dev.bea.com/blog/bucchere]my dev2dev blog.

What is the Apple customer services address in the UK?

I have registered for a screen repair but have not been sent the address to send it to!
I must be being stupid but I didn't see anything through the online process and although I received a confimration email I have not received any information on where in the UK to send the phone!

Apple normally mail you a box to send the iPhone in which includes the address plus all documentation detail so they can handle it on receipt
IIRC all Europe returns go to Ireland
