CustomiZation FIle for an XQuery resource

Hi,
When I make a customization file for XQuery then using this customization file can I change a particular text(which is environment dependent) in my Xquery, with other value. I know this can be done for MQ Connections etc but I wanted to this with my XQuery file. Please help.

I think a custom XPath function using java would be the easiest solution.

just write a Java class with a function

Help creating project specific ALSB Customization file using WLST

I asked this question in August in another forum and was redirected here, but never followed up. I'm hopeful someone has done this...
Is it possible to create an ALSB CUstomization file for a single project using WLST?
If so, does anyone have an example they would be wiling to share. I've been beating my head against the wall for almost 2 days (well, months now...) , and I'm REALLy starting to get a headache from it now....
We're running WLS 9.2 MP2 and ALSB 2.6 RP1

It looks like there is an ALSBConfigurationMBean with a customize method, but I have not worked with it and it does not sound like that will give you precisely what you want:

I replaced in both Service URI and Service URI Table it working file.Even if I replaced only Service URI also it is working fine.Please conform it requires in both place or one required.

Mani,
You can use both Service URI and Service URI Table, to update your business service url.
But when the customization file contains both, the Service URI related settings override the Service URI Table settings. You can test this by just commenting out the service URI section and executing the file.
It is up to you decide how you would like to maintain your env configurations you would like to use for your business service.
Use one of the below options:
1. Use both the service URI and service URI table and keep them in sync in the customization file
( Adv - You have the master copy of the customization file, which you can modify later to suit your needs in the future, like adding more urls, weighted urls, etc..
Disadv - having the same details in multiple places in the file might cause confusion at times.)
2. Use only one of the above and remove the other to avoid confusion.
( Adv - You have the stripped down version of the customization file that has just the stuff you need.
Disadv - If you need to add additional configuration, then you might have to regenerate the customization file again.)

Modify the contents of xquery resource using customization file

I have a xquery resource that stores constants that are environment specific.
Is there a way to use the 'customization file' feature in OSB to replace the contents of the file instead of having separate xquery resources for each environment ?

BEA-141230 Could Not locate descriptor file for System Resource: DS name

When I start the Admin and Managed server ..I get below warning message.
*<Warning> <Management> <BEA-141230> <Could Not locate descriptor file for System Resource : datasource1.>*
I know that weblogic server is unable to locatie datasource1.xml file at <SOA_HOME>/user_projects/domains/base_domain/config/jdbc
Is there any way to to get rid off from this error? I tried to delete datasource from weblogic Admin console, but get below error:
java.lang.NullPointerException
All changes have been activated. No restarts are necessary.
Errors were encountered while performing this delete operation.

Are you starting servers with the root user? make sure that using whichever user you are starting server, it has full access on MW_Home and it's sub-directories. You may consider raising a support SR.

Need a way to request for a web resource (e.g .css, .gif file) using jpdk

I am wondering if there is any way by which we can request for a web resource from portal to portlet provider.
Currently if in order to display image I need to make direct request to portlet provider rather than routing the request through portal. As a result of this there is no session affiliation.
My web resource can also be .jsp or .html file
Any suggestions are welcome.

It seems I haven't put my question correctly, probably following might help me explain you what I require:
Portlets are added to portal page. Portlet content is served by portlet provider. So when you are viewing a portal page containing portlets in reality portal requests the portlet data from portlet-provider. So the actual request flow is: Request for a portal page, portal analyzes portlets on the page, and then request the portlet provider for the content associated with portlet. In the exact reversal process data flow is: portlet-provider generates the content which is passed to portal & then portal forwards it to end user.
Now want something similar to happen with images (.gif files). But the problem is I am failing to create a link for this resource. I want the request for image to flow through portal very much the same way as its doing for the content. In other words I want to create a link which would inform portal to request for the resource to portlet provider. In this scenario portlet provider would pass the image to portal which would be forwarded to end user. Currently to get the images I am making direct request to portlet provider there by bypassing the request to flow through portal, which I do not want. Above all this resource can be anything a css file or a image or a .js file.
So can you suggest me how to achieve it?

Not able to create EAR file for WAR file extracted project

Hi Experts,
I am trying to import a WAR file, make changes to the project and create an EAR file for the same. I am not able to remove import
errors despite of adding required jar files to it.
Also, I am not able to create an EAR file for the same.
I have copied the steps here with screen shots. Below are the steps :
Import WAR file in NWDS 7.3 – Enterprise Portal perspective
Select WAR file to create WAR and EAR project for it.
Project created with import errors. e.g – com.sapportals.portal.prt*
Found jar file from Class – target jar file table.
e.g – for Class com.sapportals.portal.prt.resource.IResource needed jar file is tc~epbc~prt~api.jar
Copied required jar files in WEB-INF -> lib folder.
Configure Build path and Add External jars.

I think errors should go now, but they still exist.
Next I right click on WAR project and tried updating related EAR project.
Next, Export EAR file from EAR project.
I have tried both EAR types.
But EAR file is not created.
Please help me in removing the errors.

Eclipse XQuery expression validation failed: The current configuration is out of sync with the XQuery resource in the repository.

I created a wsdl based on a dbadapter in jdeveloper, imported into eclipse and created the biz and the proxy and uploaded to oracle service bus, it works fine,
but happens now that i need to have a xsd and wsdl with business names and not table names, invented to create a xsd and wsdl file in jdeveloper
and then went to eclipse and tried t xquery tranformation, but when i add the replace in the message flow in the filed in Variable : body and Expression i look for the xquery and in the binding trying to put
$body/input parameter, get the following error [RouteNode1, Replace action] XQuery expression validation failed: The current configuration is out of sync with the XQuery resource in the repository.

ok have created a table with only in column varchar2(1)
then the type object and the procedure to insert it works the proxy in the osb if i test it inserts
now in jdeveloper i created an xml file with

then i created a xsd based on this xml, and a wsdl based on the xsd
in eclipse created a xquery transformation and selected source as the xsd created in adf and target the xsd input parameter, dont know why in the purple ball of the input parameter it puts a ?, an a f.
then in the proxy xpath not writing anything in variable body and in the expression select the xquery and in binding select the parameter

Modify OSB Proxy "HTTPS required" setting through customization file

Is it possible to modify the "HTTPS Required" setting on the OSB Proxy service? We have different settings to be used for different environments like . DEV, IT, UAT, PROD etc
My understanding of the OSB customization is as below, and I get a feeling that its not possible through the customization.
There are 3 types of customizations possible: EnvVariables, FindAndReplaceString, ReferenceType
EnvVariables allows only pre-defined set of variables to be changed thru the customization file. , HTTPS setting is not there in the list.
Allowed variables are listed @ http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/admin.1111/e15867/customization.htm
FindAndReplaceString: it’s possible to change the value of the xml elements in the proxy file, but since its boolean value for HTTPS, we cannot use this option, it would replace other settings as well.
ReferenceType: is used to refer to alternate references like xquery or business services in the proxy service.

I know that ALSB used to provide APIs for SOME customizations, monitoring and control of services. I have not tried APIs in OSB for a long time and dont know if the APIs are still the same or if some of them have been deprecated. But I can say that the APIs for customization of end point values will definitely be available.
However, I do not think there will be an API for marking HTTPS as enabled in proxy configuration, that you will need to do using the sbconsole UI or by importing an updated version of service.

Separate file for Menu (MFC)

Dear All
is there any possibility that i can separate res file for the menu and toolbar. and load at at run-time.
what i want to do is. i would like to create Menu and toolbar file and load menu and toolbar from it. so i can add, remove, and rename, when i add new function to my app i don't need to recompile again. and want to make multiple file for difference language.
so when i chose the language. it load the selected language.
or
i have to delete all default menu and recreate them at run-time.

for example: in text file or any other file type that load menu at run time. but need easy to edit. so when i add new function to app. i just add menu name in that file and it display on next time app start.
the option i have that i can to create menu at run time reading that menu file. i am bit of confuse here, if user change menu customization from the app. it will save to registry. but each time app run it read from file and create new. so no use of save.
and user will not get what he has customized.
so that, there may be any option in the mfc or vc++ feature that i don't know. so i post this.

You don't have to use the satellite DLL as a localized resource. You can use it for anything you like.
I do not think I have understood what you are wanting to do, but if you just need to add or remove menu items at run time it is easy enough to do in code, and you could store the required configuration information anywhere you want.

How to configure OSB Tracing level from Customization File?

Hi,
I want to configure the OSB Tracing level from the customization file rather than from the console.
I check the oracle documentation for OSB tracing and could not find anything related to OSB tracing property that we could configure from OSB workshop.
Is it possible to do so ?
Any pointers will be highly helpful.

Customization file is for replacing environment values that differ between domains and NOT for changing Operational Settings. You may use "Configuration" section of OSB Dashboard to effectively change Operations Settings for resources instaed of doing it one-by-one on console -

Crashes when running applications from network share - "Windows cannot access the file for one of the following reasons"

starting a couple of weeks ago, we get the following error(s) when running applications from a network share. We don't know what causes this, we are not aware of any major changes in our network infrastructure or client/Server configuration. We did upgrade
a lot of machines to Windows 8, but the issue also occurs on older Win7 computers.
We figured out a workaround though: The applications run fine when launching from a FQDN share (like
\\share.domain.Company.com) and only cause problems when running from
\\share directly. They have worked fine for years without FQDN though.
Any ideas?

It sounds like a DNS suffix issue. When this issue occurs, please try to ping share on the client, then check if the corresponding IP address is correct. If the IP address is wrong, please adjust your settings of DNS to make sure that the client can resolve

If it's very hard to change the settings of the DNS for some reason, as a work around, we can add the entry into the clients' hosts file.
