Customization of Login page in OBIEE 11g

Hi All,
I am working on OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0.
In login page of Analytic, we have User ID and Password.
Can we add another label and textfield in login page.
like.. User ID :-
Password:-
Company Name:-
Please give me your suggestion.

Hi Prashant,
Looks like you need to validate the company name during the BI authentication process.
We all know that NQUser is for UserID and NQPassword is for Password, with your customization you need to add Text field tag in the existing form with name as Company. Till here we can go for that without any issues.
But my question is where you want to implement the validating the company name with userid and password. As of now saw.dll is going to validate the userid and password, to validate company name you need to customize the saw.dll (I dont think this can do) or else you need to validate first with your own script for given userid,pwd and company and then pass userid and pwd to saw.dll for BI authentication.

You can create a page and add a login portlet to it.Make it accesible to public.
change the default page of the user "public" to the page you have created.(by default it is WELCOME)
if there is an error in the user name or the password entered the portal still navigates to the default single-sign on page.(You have not changed the sign on page still)
To change this page look at on-line help.

Customize Viewer Login page

Hi All,
We are trying to Customize Viewer Login page by defaulting 'Oracle Applications' in the Connect To dialog box. Now it is 'OracleBI Discoverer'. Can anyone help me with that? I am not very familiar with uix scripts. I went into ViewerConnections.uix file, but couldn't figure out where can I make the change.

Please review Doc ID 312463.1 in MetaLink for additional details but, I would assume you could just re-order the list in the ConnectionAccessTypes.uit file located at $BIHome\j2ee\OC4J_BI_Forms\applications\discoverer\discoverer\templates
I've not tried it personally so, ensure you shutdown everything before, backup the file and restest. The note is very helfpul...basically it'll be something like this

Login issue in OBIEE 11g

Hi Experts,
We are using OBIEE 11g
We are facing the strange issue while accessing the presentation services login page.
I had uploaded the RPD file using EM,it is working for 1 hour with out any issue.
After some time the fallowing error is coming. then we are not able to access presentation services,
I had observed all the services are down in EM>Capasity manage ment tab.
Longing screen is coming ,but after entering the credentials ,it is showing login into…but not at all opening the window.
Error connecting to the Oracle BI Server: Could not connect to the Oracle BI Server because it is not running or is inaccessible. Please contact your system administrator.
Error Codes: WH4KCFW6:OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC
Odbc driver returned an error (SQLDriverConnectW).
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred.
[nQSError: 12002] Socket communication error at call=Connect: (Number=0) Call=NQRpc: An unknown socket communications error has occurred.
[nQSError: 12010] Communication error connecting to remote end point: address = SERVERNAME.com; port = 9706.
[nQSError: 12008] Unable to connect to port 9706 on machine SERVER_NAME.com.Please have your System Administrator look at the log for more details on this error. (HY000)

I normally do this to fix this problem
1>Disable the network , keep the loopback adaptor enabled and then restart the services.
2> You can enable the network after services are restarted.
If you want a more practical solution and dont want to disable network again and again, then you would find the blog below useful.

Login Problem in OBIEE 11g.

Hi Experts,
I installed OBIEE 11g on XP. Did started BI Services and OBIEE Presentation Services login page appears and entered userid and password. It gives following error.
Unable to Sign In
An error occurred during authentication. Try again later or contact your system administrator.
Did any one got this error?? Please help me out at this point thanks..........

The GUID of user 'weblogic' does not match user reference GUID at the repository. Please ask the administrator to delete the old user reference at the repository and login again
In order to fix it I had to follow the steps to “Refresh Global Unique Identifiers (GUIDs)” from Fusion Middleware Administrator Guide. The version I am using is 11.1.1.6. The steps is slightly different for each version of OBIEE.
For 11.1.1.6, the steps to be followed are
1. Edit NQConfig.INI and change setting FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS = NO to YES.
2. Edit instanceconfig.xml to enable GUID refresh on restart.

Comment out the line and add an extra line as follows:
UpdateAndExit
3. Use opmnctl to restart the process using stopall and startall
4. After restart, revert the changes. Set FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS to YES.

5. Restart the services again.
After the above steps, we were able to login successfully.

Not able to login in to OBIEE 11g Analytics on windows 7

HI All,
I have installed OBIEE 11g Version 11.1.1.6.0 on linux machine but i am not able to login into Analytics Page on windows 7 Machine whereas i am able to login in Analytics through windows xp Machine. All OBIEE Services are up and Running.

Try to check sawlog0 and nqserver.log latest error message? is your BI- LDAP working previously or fresh configuration error?
Note: It dosn't matter whether it's win 7 or windows xp. i am sure some wrong in ldap or Make sure your DEV_BIPLATFORM/DEV_MDS Schema password locked/expired if yes try to unlock it then test it out.

How to Get My Dashboard as Default Page Instead of Home Page in OBIEE 11G?

Hello Gurus,
I have one requirement where i need to change default page to "My Dashboard" like what we had in OBIEE 10G ?
Rite-now in OBIEE 11G when any user logs in they are directed to "Home" Page, but i want to change the navigation to "My Dashboard" for all user..
I know the option to in My Account and Change the Default dashboard in Preferences , but it's manual way to do it for all end-users.
and the other is to create the PORTALPATH Variable and do it from RPD.
So I am looking to some other way there we can change the navigation path from system file itself...

Actually I am just concern abt the OBIEE Dashboard page, the link that u have mentioned is for Application Server, where we can manage the multiple Application Portals.
and it also doesn't come with Middleware that we are installing for OBIEE.
so i did get some useful information but not related to my question.
is there any place in EM(Enterprise Manager) or Console(Admin Console) from where we can manage the Default Portal for OBIEE Users?

Find the built reports without accessing analytics page in OBIEE 11g

Hi everyone,
I am working with OBIEE 11g. This week I got a problem, I am unable to start the BI Services. I just can access Weblogic Server Console and Enterprise Manager but not the analytics page where I can build dashboards, answers, agents etc.
I have done a full backup of the server where the whole BI Application resides. But after the backup, I have added many reports. I have the copy of the repository file .rpd after adding these new reports. What I am proposing now is to make a backup of the server actual state, then restore the old backup of the server and use the copy of the repository file. But it requires a lot of work to add the reports made before. Is there any way or place where to find the built reports even though the BI services are unable to start? I can acces the WLS and Enterprise Manager. If it is possible to find the reports, we can just restore to the last backup of the server and resolve the problem. Please help me.

Win2kr2 IIS7 customize gw login page cannot find index.html

Successfully installed GW802hp2 on Win2kr2 IIs7 and redirected to /gw/webacc.
I want to customize GW Webacc login page with company logo but cannot find the index.html file
Where is it located? I have copied the logo and splash files already.

I have found the answer - at least to meet my needs. I hope this helps someone else.
After enabling HTTP-Redirect to /gw/webacc
the file to edit is: c:\novell\groupwise\tomcat5.5\webapps\gw\WEB-INF\classes\templates\webacc\css\login.htt
under DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC . . . . at approx. line 144, enter the name of your logo.ico file (replacing /favicon.ico)
the image files need to be place in the following folder:
c:\novell\groupwise\tomcat5.5\webapps\gw\webaccess \201012110348\images\
1) your logo.ico; 2) replace the install_top_n.png with your install_top_n.png file (this is at the top of the GW login screen - you may have iused a splash.gif or splash.png n IIs6). 3) If you want to remove the watermark, or have a different watermark on the GW login screen, replace install_watermark_n.png with your watermark.png file.
NOTE: If you use the same file names and copy them to this directory, you won't have to modify the login.htt file with the name of your custom .png files.
The above will work for IE and Firefox, although there may be some modifications necessary for Firefox.

Customize Self Service Page in OIM 11g

Hi All,
How can i add some functionality of Profile tab in to another custom tab like(i have to add resource tab(Self Service Page-->My Profile-->Resource) in to a custom tab) because i have to hide Profile tab and add Proxy and Resource tab of Profile tab in to another custom tab so that user can see only these two tab instead of whole profile tab .
please give me any idea how to do it.

Customize the Header in OBIEE 11g

I am able configure and use customize Skins and Style in OBIEE 11g. MY issue is that after user login to OBIEE 11g, it display Home page. I need to add or remove some links from the top right corner of the header. In OBIEE 11g, this header is consistent for funtions.
Any idea if the this can be cutomized? If yes then which files I should be updating like pages or messages ares in BIP.

Following xml seems to be corresponding one.

For example, I tried to modify as below and the "Home" character was vanished in the dashboard page.

Customize login page in portal 3.0.8

To customize the login page you can put an url which points to a database procedure in the table wwsso_ls_configuration_info$. The procedure will then use this url/database procedure to draw the login screen.
In Portal 3.0.8 the table wwsso_ls_configuration_info$ doesn't seem to exist anymore. Instead there is a wwsso_ls_configuration_info_t table, but when I put an url in this table it doesn't work.
Where do I have to put the url to make it work.
