Customization of new NW04s BEx Analyzer default view?

Can the default view displayed when a query is executed in the new NW04s (7.0) BEx Analyzer be customized -- perhaps for company branding, disabling/enabling certain functions, etc -- similar to the way the default/standard web templates can be modified?  If so, how would you go about doing that?
Thanks,
Rod

Thanks Heike...
Based upon the referenced documentation I can believe I understand how to create my own default workbook with/for the NW04s BEx Analyzer and toggle between it, the system default for me, and the SAP default (the 3 buttons on the Global Settings ... Select Default Workbook view).
However, the document indicates "There is one default workbook per user in a system which can be set by the system administrator".  How/where would an administrator do that?  There is a "global default" flag in the Global Settings view which I don't see discussed in the documentation -- not sure if this factors in, if so how an administrator would go here to make a user-specific setting, etc.
Any additional help appreciated,
Rod

  • Button in bex analyzer workbook

    Hello all
I am trying to customize a button in bex analyzer workbook (BI 7).
I want to insert a planning sequence into the button. As far as i know (and as i did ), if the sequence contain variables, i should see in the static parameters : VAR_NAME_1 and VAR_VALUE_1, and so on.
For some reason i dont have the VAR_VALUE_1 part, and if i try to write it i get error.
What is the reason for this?
    Best
    Yuval

Once I am adding VAR_VALUE_1 to the static parameters, the system generates two messages error:
Program error in class SAPMSSY1 method : UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION
System error in program SAPLRRS2 and form GET_SID-1

  • BEx Analyzer workbook

    Hello,
I am currently working on creating cost centre reports which should be sent out to cost centre managers on a monthly basis.
For example: The cost centre report for the cost centre named ABC should be sent out to ABCu2019s manager every month.
I created a BEx query and mapped it to a workbook in BEx Analyzer. There are around 300 cost centres and what I did is, created a selection variable for cost centre n the workbook. So the cost centre managers can input their cost centre to see the report.
    My concerns are:
    a) Since I have put a selection variable for cost centre, anyone can view the report. For instance, cost centre report for cost centre XYZ can be viewed by cost centre manager of ABC. How do we restrict the cost centres to their respective cost centre managers?
For example, Cost centre report for Cost centre XYZ can only be viewed by its respective cost manager. No other cost centre managers should see it. How do we do this in Analyzer workbook?
    b) Which is the best way to distribute this report?
We currently use a SharePoint website to share documents. If we upload the workbook to the SharePoint site, my understanding is that the user will have to open the workbook in BEx Analyzer to view the report. The users have to be trained to do it in this case and all of them do not have BEx Analyzer at the moment. So I guess uploading it to the SharePoint site is not a practical idea.
    Please reply with your solutions

    Hello Suriya Gayathri,
Does not seem that you went through the broadcaster bursting functionality.
    In short:
    * You an create a broadcasting setting of type bursting.
    * use a infoobject which consists all 300 users and their mail.
    * use a authorisation variable in the query that relates to their respective costcenter.
    * execute the 'broadcasting setting', it will send a excelfile attached in the mail to these users.
(Of course you need to set a precalculation server which does all the generation of the excelfile)
Have a look in detail about broadcaster and precalculation server.

  • How to create a new column in BEx Analyzer

    Hello,
I have 12 characteristics and 7 Key figures in my Query. This includes RKF and CKF.
I'm executing the query in BEx Analyzer.
Now I want to include a new column which will be a replica of another Key figure column.
    How to do this?
    Regards,
    Arif

    Hello Arif,
You can do the setting in BEx QD and view it in Analyzer.
You can create a new formula and include the keyfigure in that formula.
This will be displayed as a new column on execution.

  • BEx Analyzer input help default setting

    Dear forum,
at our BW system the F4 input help popup's in BEx Analyzer 7.0 show up by default the latest used values ("history"). Is it possible to change this behavior for some InfoObjects or variables so that the selection "single values" is displayed by default?
    Thanks in advance!
    Anna

    Hello Ravi,
I think I have to explain via screenshot. When opening the input help by default the user gets the view 'history', in this example for fiscal year / period:
For some users it's confusing that within the history the periods are mixed up and some are 'missing' (indeed they are not missing but weren't used yet).
So by default I would like to bring up the setting 'single values' when opening the input help:
I hope it's more clearly now.
    Thank you very much!

  • Adding new variables to bex analyzer

    hi experts,
i have a requirement to add 2 more variables to my report in bex analyzer. can any body explain me how to add two more variables to my report because i am new to bi
    thanks and regards
    pedamarla

    Hi,
Once you have opened the query in the bex query designer,
    follow these steps :
    1. Go to the desired infoobject for which you want to create a variable.
    2. For the particular infoobject you would find a sub folder which is characteristic value variables.
    3. Right click and say New Variable
    4. Double click on that variable and give a technical name to the variable according to the requirement.
    5. Select the type of variable i.e. Default, Replacement path, Customer Exit or authorization.
Depending on the type of variable selected you can fill in the other tabs.
-> Default value would be used for user input and you can use the details tab.
-> Replacement path is used when you want to refer some other variable or query and you can use
    the replacement path tab.
-> Customer exit is used when you have created a customer exit and you want to use it to fulfill your requirement
-> Authorization variable is used to provide security to users at the query level.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,

  • Create local view with Bex Analyzer 7.0

    Hi,
with the Bex Analyzer 3.5 it was possible to create and use a local views based on a query in a workbook.
With this "workaround" it was possible to create just one Query for different views and charts.
Is there something similar in BI 7.0???
I know there is a query view, but this is not what i want.
    Thx a lot.
    Br
    Mike

I think the reference is to the BEx 3.x Change Query button. You had the option in a refreshed query or Workbook to Change Query Local View or global view.
With Change Query Local View it was easier for a user with no global change authorizations to drag and drop, rearrange and change properties of their query results as needed. Then they could save locally as a workbook and each time they open it the personalized version can be refeshed as such, all without having to change original query.
How do users do that in 7.0?

  • BEx Analyzer report "New Formula", "Scaling Factor" property not working

    Hi Experts,
I have created a New Formula(Ex:- Dispatches * 2) in BEx Analyzer report. The result of the "New Formula" is 2000. When I maintain Scaling Factor as "1000" to the  New Formula properties, the result should be 2 but here 2000 is coming again.
When I maintain this property to the existing keyfigure in Analyzer report, it is working fine.
Please help me in this whether Scaling Factor can be applied to the New Formula or not in BEx Analyzer report. If it works, what changes we have to make to the New formula.
SAPKW73010 is applied already to SAP BW-730
    Please see the attachment.

    Sree,
Is the variable ABC the new one that you've created with Scaling factor setting given? The message you get on doing a syntax check on the query indicates that settings are ignored for use beyond the query.
And if this is the case, this is a known issue.
However such settings will work on existing keyfigures as it is in your case.
What you can hence do for this new variable is that if you are developing reports on top of this bex query, you can make the scaling factor setting at the report level.
Let me know if this works for you.

  • BEx Analyzer (7.x): currency change when new formula created

    Hi All,
I have a strange one.  Query is executed in BEx analyzer.  A new formula is created outside the query results window using excel functionality, and the currency changes from USD to DM.
    Example query results:
    Cell A1: Var 1 = $150.00
    Cell B1: Var 2 = $160.00
    Cell C1: Var 3 = $70.00
New formula created using excel functionality:  =sum(A1+B1) displays as 310.00 DM
The language settings have been checked for the operating system and for SAP (user data) and they appear to be correct.  Is there another setting to be checked?
    Thanks,
    Pam

sap said it was working as designed.  suggested we look at regional settings on laptop and make a workbook template with us settings.

The problem was, that the filter panel had the same style on each sheet. And like the number of charactéristics are different for each quey, the layout was not well.

    Hello,
You can set the default workbook as the SAP standard provided.
To do this, please open the BExAnalyzer and goto the
"Global settings" screen (Its on the BExAnalysis Toolbox menubar).
In the "Select Default workbook" tab click on the "Use SAP Standard"
    button.
This would set the default workbook. Close Analyzer and reopen it.
    It should work fine.
    Some additional information for you:
The default workbook that is used can be seen in table RSRWBTEMPLATE.
Check the workbook that is assigned to your user. If there is a blank
workbook assigned to your user, this uses the SAP Standard Global
Wokrbook. If your user iD doesn't exist in this table, then it will use
the workbook assigned to the <blank> user id. If the <blank> user id is
assigned to <blank> workbook, this means that any user id that doesn't
have an entry in this table will be use the global workbook. Don't make
any manual updates to this table, but it can be used to see who is
assigned to what workbook. You should specify using the standard workbook
for your user id through the properties in the BEx Analyzer. Ensure that
the entry is updated in this table. Also, you will need to close BEx
Analyzer and log back on to see the change.

  • Setting Default Global Settings for Bex Analyzer 7 for all users

We need to set default settings for Bex Analyzer Global Settings when we install SAP-GUI 7.2 in our user's workstations. The current default settings are that all of them are turned off. We would rather not have to run around and change each of our 1,000 user's settings.
Ed:. Apparently [OSS Note 1254112|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap%28bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==%29/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1254112] discussed how to adjust Windows Registry settings to resolve this.

Just so any one is looking for the correct solution and it worked for me.
Small correction to the information in the OSS note 1254112.
for setting the legacy version setting use the below string in the registry
"LAUNCH_VERSION" = "LEGACY"  insted of "LaunchLegacyVersion"

  • View Business Explorer Analyzer (BEx Analyzer) queries in NWBC?

    Hiya,
The business would really like to view their BW report via NWBC.
Currently they are using Business Explorer Analyzer (BEx Analyzer) - this is the analysis and reporting tool that is embedded in Microsoft Excel.
IS there any way that NWBC can connect to this?
Or would a different approach be needed for making BW queries in NWBC?
    Thanks in advance!

Yes, by web enabling them. The latest and coolest solution available is connecting Lumira to the BEx query. There are many other options such as WAD, Xcelsius, Crystal Reports, etc. You should take this discussion to the relevant space (BEx, Business Objects, BI, etc).

  • Add new fields to default view when creating fields via REST in sharepoint 2013

    Hello,
When I add new fields via REST in a list, they don't appear in the default view for that list.
Here is my code in case you need it:
    public function creeChamp(nomListe:String, champ:String, type:int, requis:Boolean):void
    postURL.data = JSON.stringify({ '__metadata': { 'type': 'SP.Field' }, 'Title': champ, 'FieldTypeKind': type,'Required': requis, 'EnforceUniqueValues': false,'StaticName': champ});
    thanks

You need to add the field to the view as well.
    Here is the API.
Our code looks pretty different because I'm working in AngularJS, but here's a snippet from a working example:
    $http.post(siteUrl + "/_api/web/lists/GetByTitle('" + listName +
    "')/Views/GetByTitle('All%20Items')/ViewFields/addViewField('" + columnName + "')",
// POST data is empty for this request
    }, getPostConfig())
    .then(function (response) {
    deferred.resolve("Added column to view");
    .catch(function (response) {
    deferred.reject('Error ' + response.status + ': ' + response.data.error.message.value)
Bottom line is you just POST to this URL however you normally do - except no data:
    "/_api/web/lists/GetByTitle('" + listName + "')/Views/GetByTitle('All%20Items')/ViewFields/addViewField('" + columnName + "')",
    Hope this helps!
