CVI 2013 and Windows SDK

Hi,
I just downloaded and installed Labwindows/CVI 2013 full development system on my new computer.
It's a Win7 64 bit computer.
Do I have to do any additional installations to use Windows SDK functions, or is it included in the typical installation?

Unless in 2013 something has changed, normally you must explicitly select the corresponding option in order to have the SDK installed. You must perform the setup again and expand the CVI item in the product tree, next select "Interface to the Win32 API" item: the appropriate libraries and include files will then be installe on your system.

Hi Guys
I'm currently working on a Windows Embedded 7 Standard build and deployment.
Looking at the support Matrix and the video from Johan, it looks like:
MDT 2010 has support with the hacked LTIAPPLY script
MDT 2012 onwards support Embedded POS Ready - no mention of Standard.
Can you clarify:
If WES7 is supported in MDT 2013.
Is there a set of specific task sequence steps I should use for deploying WES7? I will still need to run the standard pre-install to clean disk, gather vars etc.
I have written some post build scripts, which configures the FBWF state and installs final apps, which i'll run at the State Restore phase.

Return of void functions inconsistency between CVI 2013 and older

Hello,
I have discovered an inconsistency using CVI 2013 (SP2 or not) compared to CVI 2010 and CVI 8.5 (the versions I have).
I have written, by mistake, a code where I'm returning a value for a void function. CVI 2013 does not complain (but should) while other CVI versions complain (and that's OK).
Here is the code:

Could this behaviour be fixed for the next CVI update ?

Well it's technically not causing wrong behaviour, but may cause less than best performance depending on the compiler code generation as the register usually used for function return values might be assigned some garbage value that never will get used though.
Causing an error is likely a bit strict, issueing a warning would be the prefered behaviour, not generating either a warning or error is a bit lazy. Problematic would be if you could write this without getting an error:

Oracle client 32/64 bit on Crystal Server 2013 and Windows Server 2012

I'm getting the error "Unknown Database Connector Error" when I run report on the server and it works OK on crystal designer 2013.
Been reading this thread 32&64 bit Oracle Client but not much help there.
Here are the details
System
Windows Server 2012
Crystal Server 2013 SP5
Crystal Server has been installed and appears to work fine. I was able to develop a brand new report locally and saved it to the server and it displays ok. Of course when I click on refresh on the report, it will error out due to database connection it looks like.
We have installed both oracle client drivers 64 and 32. 64 was installed first and then 32.The path has been modified so that the 32 shows up first.
I even ensure oracle_home and oracle_home32 are specified and restarted the server. I still get the same error.
The tns entries are also located in both installs of oracle client...
What might be the issue?

Oracle Database Client 12.1.0.2.0 (32-bit and 64-bit installed)
Installation Type: Custom
COMPONENTS INSTALLED:
SQLPLUS
ORACLE NET
We are currently not using an ODBC connection.
We installed Crystal 2013 Server SP05. This is the sole package installed (believe it's the latest version) without any extra patch package installed (believe no patch needed as it's the latest version).

Problems with Outlook 2013 and Windows 8.1 with Exchange 2013

Hello Guys,
I just got started with testing Exchange 2013. My lab consists of 2 Exchange 2013 Servers, the Installation Media is the Exchange 2013 SP1 from MSDN, Server 2012 R2 and 2 Windows 8.1 Clients with Office 2013 SP 1 with all updates installed. I have configured
some mailboxes in Exchange and I want now to configure Outlook. So at the initial startup Outlook displays the correct Name and Mail Address. When I click next I make it to Logging on the mail server and then I am getting the Error : The connection to Microsoft
Exchange is unavailable. Your Network adapter does not have a default Gateway. All servers are in the network 192.168.5.0 /24. Any suggestions how can I fix this problem ?

VMware Fusion 6 (v 6.0.2), 15" MacBook Pro Retina (late-2013), and Windows 8.1

Does anyone the best recommended settings for the items listed in the subject line? Resolution looks so small. I installed Windows 8.1 Pro on my late-2013 15" MacBook Pro (MBP) via VMware's Fusion 6 (version 6.0.2).

If you used VMware Fusion to install Windows, first make sure you have installed VMware Tools in Windows. Read > http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=display KC&externalId=1003417
Then, you will be able to change the Windows resolution as usual. In Windows, right-click in the desktop and select "Screen resolution". There are other ways to do this > http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/get-best-display-monitor.
There are not best recommended settings because it depends on the hardware of your computer: for example, if you have got 8 GB of RAM, you can assign 4 GB of RAM to the virtual machine (depending on the applications you use), or if you have got a Quad-Core processor with Hyper-Threading, you can assign more processor threads to the virtual machine so you can improve performance.

SharePoint 2013 and Windows authentication (integrated) or SharePoint user for report data source

I am having issues creating report datasource in "Windows authentication (integrated) or SharePoint user" in SharePoint 2013. I followed the steps mentioned in the link http://blogs.msdn.com/b/psssql/archive/2014/04/28/sharepoint-adventures-using-claims-with-reporting-services.aspx.
I am just stuck in the delegation piece here. I have a SSAS instance by name "XXXXAPPV01\Multidimensional". First thing is what is the procedure to set SPN for this instance? I need to add this service in the delegation tab so that C2WTS service
configured correctly.
Nothing but I should be able to access my SSAS 2012 cube from SSRS 2012 by "Windows authentication (integrated) or SharePoint user" as the authentication method.

I used the below command to set SPN for analysis services.
setspn -S MSOLAPSvc.3/XXXXAPPV01APPV01.xxxxdmo.local:Multidimensional xxxxdmo\svcMyService
After setting the SPN for this service account I added this account(xxxxdmo\svcMyService) in the delegation tab of my domain account created earlier for claim service (xxxxdmo\svcC2WTS). Now in service type it shows -> MSOLAPSvc.3, User or Computer it shows
-> XXXXAPPV01APPV01.xxxxdmo.local and in Port it shows -> Multidimensional. This is in my svcC2WTS account delegation tab. Still I am not able to connect datasource by "Windows authentication(integrated) or SharePoint User". I am getting the
same error "Cannot convert claims identity to windows token".
I am not sure what am I missing in this configuration piece yet to get this working.

Office 2013 and Windows 2008 R2 SP1 AD RMS

Hi All,
I have installed Windows 2008 R2 SP1 AD RMS service, and it works well with Office 2010/2007, does not however work with office 2013, below is the error I get:
sorry, something went wrong opening information rights management protected content. the request is not supported
I have added the AD RMS cluster URL and the AD RMS licensing URL to the loacl Intranet security zone (http://realercheng.wordpress.com/2013/01/23/office-2013-failed-to-create-and-consume-protected-content-with-connect-to-digital-rights-mangement-services-and-get-template/),
however, I still get the same error.
Does Office 2013 work with Windows 2008 AD RMS, and if it does what is the issue here and how do I go about sort it?

Im am using server 2008 r2 sp1 and users are using windows 7 enterprise, office 2010 pro. plus. They can see right policy
template with office 2010.
But now I have installed office 2013 pro. plus and added new admx files to new gpo for office 2013 also enabled this policy
"Enter Permission Policy Default Server for Quick Access Toolbar" and this is writing in the policy \\serverhostname But I cant receiving ad rms templates from my outlook?
Is server 2008 r2 sp1 ad rms compatible with office 2013 or am I have to install server 2012 ad rms for office 2013?
How can I fix this problem?

Events recovery in Office 2013 and Windows 8 with iCloud

Hi Guys,
I have a serious problem with an end user. In the way to get PC, iPhone and iPad synchronized
(calendar and contacts only), I make a calendar and using the iCloud tab under Outlook 2013 for
refresh I got 2 records to be visible under PC and iPhone (iPad was not set at this time yet).
After using the refresh button, we look the old calendar events and the last 2 records in he iPhone.
As a last testing I made a change in the Pc for one of this events and the iPhone got correctly
the changes. This tasks were performed in January 31th 2014 at 14:37 hours -06:00 GMT.
When I turn the PC to the customer, a half hour later, all the events in iCloud calendar went away.
In 2nd February of 2014, Apple Support by phone confirmed to us that there was 199 records under our
iCloud account, but I didn't see any records. I don't know which task was performed by the
technicians at Apple but they got we can see this records again.
The problem is that this doesn't have all the record for this year (2014).
The end user is very worried because all the events and meetings have disappeared. He is
the CEO of our company.
How could this happened? I have look at every PST and OST file without success.
Where can I find all this information?
Is there someplace where this info could be stored?

Hi,
I'm not sure about most of the problems that you are experiencing, except for the multi-user calendar one.
There is a patch available via a SR with Novell Technical Services that specifically addresses multi-user calendar issues (essentially it's a newer version of the client). I suggest that you open an SR and get this newer code - the SR should be refunded to you before it is closed as this is a known issue.
Please let us know how you go with this.

IMac 2013 and Windows 8.1 Connectivity

Up until I installed Yosemite, I could connect my new Windows 8.1 computer to my iMac external hard drives. ( I have 5 of them hooked up to the iMac) and could access all of my files.) without a problem. Now I can't access not 1 one of them. I can get into the iMac from the Windows computer and see the hard drives, but as soon as I click the hard drives the green line runs across the screen and none of my files appear. I have gone into the settings to make sure I have sharing turned on and everything seems to look ok. I have searched the boards and haven't found an answer or maybe I have over looked one. Is there anyone out there who has some insight to my problem? Thanks in advance. Dave.

IDCS3 Mac and Windows SDK Upgrade question

Hello everyone:
Well, my usually conservative Production Support Division upgraded CS3 to 5.0.3 without telling anyone and now its time for the programmers to play catchup. What I need to know (it does not mention it one way or another in the readme) is, do I need to upgrade to 5.0.2 before upgrading to 5.0.3 or is 5.0.3 cumulative.

I was actually talking about both. Further research lead me to believe that it was safe to upgrade the SDK from 5.0.0 to 5.0.3 in one fell swoop without worrying about the intervening versions. So I did, and I haven't had a problem yet with compiling. WRT the debug patches, however, I couldn't wait for a definitive answer, and I found no comfort in the documentation that one could make the jump from 5.0.0 to 5.0.3, so I went ahead and downloaded all the patches and ran them, one after another. It took a bit more time, but now I am sure that the final product is safe.
WRT the patches, one needs to be careful, because in its wisdom, when expanding the compressed packages, Adobe chooses to put the expanded contents in folders that are named exactly the same. It caused a bit of confusion until I figured out what was going on.

Problem with ztisetbackground.wsf in MDT 2013 and Windows 8.1

Has anyone found a way to get ztisetbackground.wsf to work with a Windows 8.1 build after the WinPE phase? It works fine with Windows 7 builds.

Running latest BootCamp on rMacbook Pro late 2013 and Windows 7-defrag?

Have the 512 SSD on my new macbbok pro (to which I am also new to apple computers not iPhones nor Windows 7 but the Macs are new to me and I am very impressed, worth every dime!) and have to run Windows 7 Professional 64 bit to run a few important pieces of software for work unfortunetly.
I partitioned my drive giving 80GB to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit (an OEM copy). I ran it from DVD disc figuring out I had to uncheck the USB choice though I would have thought it could see my SuperDrive plugged in to the USB port and would have it opened BootCamp setup for Disc installation. Seems all drivers installed properly though its a learning curve as Windows 7 and Maverick 10.9.1 have very different keyboard commands.
By default it appears either apple doesn't setup bootcamp to let windows know its on an SSD drive as I see the option to defrag and I see it is installed for scheduled defrags. I turned off the scheduled degrags and of course wont defrag. And the learning goes on....
Is this because Bootcamp doesn't run windows in ACHI?
Does it not also recognize TRIM?
I am correct in not touching Defrag in Windows 7 while on the Apple 512GB SSD yes?
