CVI_ActiveApp doesnt return second Application

I'm using CVI_ActiveApp and CVI_AppGetProjectVersionInfo and so on to mess around with versions.
The ppplications I built with CVI automation runs as part of the build process (get/set version in prj and in a header file).
Everything works fine as long as there is only one CVI instance running.
If there is another CVI  instance running and the interisting one is the second, the run of my get/set version app fails (luckily it does) if the first instance has loaded another project than the second because CVI_AppGetAbsPathFromProject doesn't find the mentioned header file because CVI_ActiveApp returns a handle to the first app which project doesnt contain this file.
This confuses me, because the name contains "Active" which means to me that the app handle of the CVI instance is returned which is active (has focus, title bar looks like one of an active window).
Is there a possibility to get the app handle of the app which is really active (as described before)?

"Active" does not refer to the instance with window focus, but rather to the currently registered ActiveX server. Depending on whether your multiple running CVI instances are different versions, and the order in which they were launched, any one of them could be the "active" CVI instance. Unfortunately, your problem isn't just one of identifying the instance of CVI you're interested in. The real problem is that when multiple instances are running, there is only one particular instance that may be controlled through automation, and that may not be the one you want. This is a limitation of the CVI automation server, and unfortunately, I don't think there is a way around this. You could repeatedly call CVI_ActiveApp and CVI_AppExitCVI until CVI_AppGetAbsPathFromProject succeeds, but that may not be a satisfactory approach for you.

  • Bugreport: Apex 4.2.1 Button 'Return to application' doesn't return to app

    Hi there,
    I think there is a bug, when searching for a page number that doesn't exist in the application (e.g. typing error).
    When you edit a page and enter a page number where the page doesn't exist (that means in Field "go_to_page"), the error "Error processing condition. ORA-01403: no data found" appears correctly, but with button 'Return to application' you don't come back to the application.
    The same behavior is when you enter a non-existing page number in "Search Application" (P0_SEARCH) on the overview page of an application
    e.g. http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/
    WS: uBrennerDemo
    demo/demo
    Application: 61765 (Demo01)
    go to page: 5
    Regards Uli

    I get this a lot - it's frustrating!

    Try setting the stepSize on the slider to 4. That should reduce the jiggle effect.
    Not sure if it helps, but the following way of placing the graphic in the skin means you don't need to use those binding tags. The group within the graphic will automatically scale. (I use 48 as an arbitrary size for the group. But it will always display relative to the size of the button. You may need to adjust the 30 and 8 values to match your original.)

  • SDO_RELATE command with 'coveredby' option doesnt return record as expected

    Hi all,
    I use oracle spatial 10.2. I use sdo_relate to compare 2 tables' geometries. The case is table 1 has ~2000 records, each is a retangle and has sdo_geometry field. 'Table 2' is transient geometry defined by sdo_geometry to a rectengle.
    The definition of the table 2 is:
    SDO_GEOMETRY(2003, NULL,NULL, SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1,1003,3), SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(-50,50, 50,-50)), 'mask=COVEREDBY') = 'TRUE';
    I am working in world coordinates.
    and the whole SQL for comparison is:
    select name from KMK.summary where sdo_relate(mbr,SDO_GEOMETRY(2003, NULL,NULL, SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1,1003,3), SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY(-50,50, 50,-50)), 'mask=COVEREDBY') = 'TRUE';
    The problem is that this command doesnt return any values, i.e no records are selected from table 1. I am sure that there are features that evaluate to true for 'mask=COVEREDBY'.
    here is one of them:
    SQL> SELECT SDO_AGGR_MBR(mbr) FROM kmk.summary where name = ' GETDB_GLOBAL_004065_00O';
    SDO_AGGR_MBR(SHAPE)(SDO_GTYPE, SDO_SRID, SDO_POINT(X, Y, Z), SDO_ELEM_INFO, SDO_
    SDO_GEOMETRY(2003, NULL, NULL, SDO_ELEM_INFO_ARRAY(1, 1003, 3), SDO_ORDINATE_ARR
    AY(-50, -25.25, -48.25, -24.5))
    this teature's MBR goes to -50 and it should be selected.
    What do I wrong?
    Thanks

    Hi I will give it a try on Monday for the numwidth20
    I tried with inside mask and it returns the right number of records - only those that are completely within/inside the mask. Thisone record is still not selected.
    I use ARCGIS on the same table with SDE so I know what number of records to expect.
    When you did the test was GETDB_GLOBAL_004065_00O selected with coveredby mask?
    We are running v 10.2.0.3 could this make a difference?
    It seems to me that when the coordinates are evaluated the algorithm uses the following for comparison:
    (in case of coveredby/inside) it comapres every point to the mask pounts and if it is less than it returns FALSE, it doesn't check if is is equal as well to return TRUE. On the other hand it checks if it is more or equal and if it is returns TRUE. That is why it selects record that have one boundary on top of the search window but extent outside it.
    EDIT: It seems it is the precision. When I set it to 25 it returned -50.0000000003723 for the Xmin.
    Now, this table has been created from and ESRI shp file, imported to oracle using ArcSDE. Do you have any idea of shp files and how the precisions are utilized in oracle?

  • Opening second application in a separate window

    Hi
    I have 2 applications in the same DC. On the click of the link present on the first application iview, the second application opens up. I have done it using exit plugs.
    But the problem i am facing is the second application alos opens up in the same window, and i want i to open in a separate window.
    is there any way in which it can be acheived?
    Thanks & regards,
    Anupreet

    Hi ravi
    In my second application, there is a table, carrying some data. It is actually Link to Action. On the click of any of the data, the corresponding value is passed to the first application.
    So ihave created one action, in which i am passing the value to the first application, using exit plug(as of now).
    I am using WDURLGenerator for this.
    The code snippet is as follows:
    String deployableObjectName =wdComponentAPI.getDeployableObjectPart().getDeployableObjectName();
                      Map urlParameters = new HashMap();
                      //SENDING THE VALUE TO BE SENT BACK TO FIRST APPLICATION
                      urlParameters.put("Url",code);
    WDDeployableObjectPart deployableObjectPart = WDDeployableObject.getDeployableObjectPart( deployableObjectName, "FirstApp", WDDeployableObjectPartType.APPLICATION);
                        //GET TARGET URL BASED ON DEPLOYABLE OBJECT PART AND URL PARAMETERS
                      String urlToTargetApp =WDURLGenerator.getApplicationURL(deployableObjectPart,urlParameters);
    and then using exit plug and passing "urlToTargetApp" in that exit plug.
    Hence the value passed is displayed in the first application.
    Thanks & regards,

  • Pa_projects doesnt return any data

    HI,
    I'm using API PA_PROJECT_PUB.ADD_TASK to insert tasks data to PA_TASKS table
    The API returns me ' Invalid Project ' error message
    On exploring the procedure code I found that it is querying pa_projects table
    Also when I used the following in my toad
    begin
    fnd_client_info.set_org_context('204');
    end;
    select * from pa_projects -- it doesnt return any rows
    However the following query returns rows
    select * from pa_projects_all where org_id=204
    Can any one please help me how to populate pa_projects table or what data will be there in pa_projects
    Thanks for your help
    Regards

    Hi Sandeep,
    I followed the instructions mentioned , but I still get no rows returned
    Any more Suggestions ?
    Thanks

  • Second application using EJB with CMP cannot see SQL Server Tables.

    We are running Sun One Application Server 7 V2004Q2 . We are also running Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC Service Pack 3 Version 2.2.0040 and SQL Server 2000 Standard Edition Version 8.00.818(SP3).
    (The 2 applications described below run perfectly fine when run one at a time. The second one fails only when it is started after the first one and it does not matter which one is strarted first..)
    Using the above, we run 2 applications that open SQL Server Connection Pools via EJB with CMP. The first application opens the connection pool correctly and successfullly obtains a connection from that connection pool and get table information from SQL Server.
    The second application opens a second connection pool to a second database in the same SQL Server. However, when the second application requests data over a connection from the second connection pool, we get an error message that it cannot find the requested table.
    In addition, the second application cannot ever see the SQL data until we restart the instance of the Sun One Application Server AND start that application by itself.

    Yes, they are.

  • WebHelp - With help window open, second application click does not bring help window back into focus

    Hello all,
    Using RH11 to create context sensitive WebHelp for use with apigee-to-go console.
    Console allows URL calls to launch help in a new browser window (named within the help project).  Works fine except that the browser help window does not regain focus when subsequent context calls are made from the application.
    Steps:
    With application running in a browser window, I click a help link.  New browser window opens with correct help topic displayed.
    Return to application without closing help window.  Application window takes focus; help window moves to back.
    I click another help link. Help window does not regain focus.  However, it DOES move to the correct topic.
    I've tried lots of things.  Nothing seems to fix this.
    For reference, my context call looks like this:
    http://<URL>/index.htm#<id=37>>wnd=HelpPopup
    Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
    Jeff Seltzer

    Thanks for the responses, but this doesn't really help.
    I'm using a simple URL to make the call.
    (That's all I can do within the web app API console I'm working with.)
    If I knew how to crack open all of the javascript that RH creates (and had that much time to work on it), I'd try to address it.
    I have to give up for now.
    I've just appended >>newwnd=false to the end of my calls, so the help appears in another browser tab, rather than its own window.
    This isn't great, since each call opens a new tab, but that's better than the help window disappearing behind the sea of open windows most of us have going on, only to cause the user to hunt for it (if they even know it's there).
    So, <URL>/index.htm#<id=37>>wnd=HelpPopup
    becomes <URL>/index.htm#<id=37>>wnd=HelpPopup>>newwnd=false
    Thanks all for your pointers.
    If I ever find the time to really work on this issue, I'll post a fix (if there is one).
    (Again, I suspect this is just buggy RH javascript.  RH knows enough to update the contents of the help/browser window, but not enough to focus it.)
    Best,
    Jeff Seltzer

  • BPF Launch from second application server

    I have the following setup.
    SAP BPC 7.0 SP9 Patch 1
    SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition SP2
    Two application servers and one database server.
    We have a loadbalancer F5.
    When I launch the BPF and the loadbalancer takes me to the second application server. Then the message comes up that the templates does not exist. When I go to eTools and try to open the Company folder, first it says that the folder thas not exist and after about 30 seconds the templates start appearing.
    I have followed the instructions on how to do the Loadbalancer, and I can see that the balancer is working, but templates take long to appear from the second application server.
    It seems like there is a delay in the templates showing.. Do you have any idease why this happens? Or what settings I can have a look at?
    Regards
    Henry

    So first of all I will check the tables:
    tblserverinfo and tblappsetinfo.
    Into tblserverinfo you must have just records with suffix 1 and for application server and web server you must have virtual Ip of your NLB.
    Iinto tblapsetinfo all the records refering servers must you just name with suffix 1. (sql server1, olap server 1...)
    The second check I will do it regarding where do you have the file server.
    Because you have two application servers then you must have a share drive where you have the file server because the templates must be access from both servers.
    So for the file server you will not be able to use local drive because this can be a problem when you try to open the templates.
    That's means you have to check if you can access the path specified for file server (you can find it into tblserverinfo) from both application server. It can be that actually from second application server you have access problems.
    The third thing to be check is the affinity(persistency) of you NLB F5.
    In your case because the afinity must be single (persistency on) because once which you connect to one application server you would like to have all request going to same application server.
    All the tests must be done with antivirus and firewall disable into both application servers.

  • Webutil problem when opening second application

    Hi!

    Somebody knows something about that?
    Thanks in advance.

    Yes, i remember seeing this bug. I think this is when you run in the same browser session different config sections with different jar files.
    Try starting new, separate browser session each time. Like "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" (not from browser New->Window)

  • Problem with again and again returned retired application to distribution process

    Hi,
    I have strange problem. In my SCCM enviroment, I have retired application (Flash Player). For time to time, this application is appear on some Distribution Points with status "In process". Application is not deployed.
    Why it is still returning to distibution on DP? How to remove it pernamently?
    Thank you for answer.

    Probably I have found issue...
    I have found issue appear only on few DP's during system deployment. Next I have compared it with DP's where this issue not appear and found I have few DP's where "retired" application is missing. So, when system deployment process starting, and in TS is
    task where is defined installaltion of this application, DP trying download missing content. Becuse it is "retired" application, thi sprocess is still in "In process" state.
    Now I need just only check TS where retired application appear and exchange it with newer version.

  • Making LOV off of an exposed method from second application module

    Hello,
    I am on JDev 11.1.1.4.0.
    My ADF project worked fine until the spec changed on how Lookups are going to be handled. Previuosly, all the lookup tables were in the same database as other tables. Change is that FND Lookups will be created in the "Oracle" and my ADF project should connect to "Oracle" to get appropriate lookup values to build LOVs while maintaining the main database connection intact.
    After some research, I now have 2 Application Modules, one my project and the other for Lookups to create LOVs. I went to Application Module configuration wizard to edit JDBC setting to point to "Oracle" database and created a read only view with the following SQL:
    SELECT LOOKUP_CODE, MEANING, DESCRIPTION FROM FND_LOOKUP_VALUES
    WHERE LOOKUP_TYPE = 'MY_LOOKUP'
    AND ENABLED_FLAG = 'Y'
    AND LANGUAGE = 'US'I can run both AMs via "Oracle Business Component Browser" fine. However, I somehow have to set the lookup view object as data source to create LOV on the main updatable view object's attribute. If I set it the way I used to do treating the lookup view as a view object residing in the same AM I am getting "table or view does not exist" error. I guess it is something to do with the lookup view object, but I cannot seem to make any kind of progress on this.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

    Well, I think I have found a solution which I didn't have to write a single line of code. My mistake was to think that I have to write code to achieve this.
    Here is what I did:
    *I already have the main AM and View Objects created for my project.  The following steps are done on top of that to bring LOV to life
    1. Create a new, pretty empty AM, named LovAM.
    1.1 Right click on the newly created AM and select 'Configurations'
    1.2 Click JDBC Name value and click 'Edit'
    1.3 Select the second database source where Lookup is defined. If not listed, go back out and create a new Database connection and come back.
    2. Create a View Object with the following SQL:
    SELECT
        TO_NUMBER(LOOKUP_CODE) ID,
        MEANING NAME,
        DESCRIPTION
    FROM
        FND_LOOKUP_VALUES
    WHERE
        LOOKUP_TYPE = 'MY_LOOKUP' AND ENABLED_FLAG = 'Y' AND LANGUAGE = 'US'3. Notice you now have LovAMDataControl
    4. Create a jspx page and create a table with the main data control's binding (This was a part of the requirements).
    5. I create a read-only table with LovAMDataControl.LovLookUp1 binding (I think this creates/exposes correct binding in the pageDef).
    6. Now I drag-and-drop an attribute that I have been wanting to display LOV from the main binding.
    7. Selected single select listbox. You will be presented with 'Edit zlist Binding' screen.
    8. Base Data Source is the main data control binding.
    9. Select Dynamic List
    10. Select LovAM data control binding as List Data Source.
    11. (optional) Selected 'Name' as Display Attribute.
    11.1. (optional) I don't want to see the table created in step 5. On the jspx page, go to Source tab and delete the table from there. I think this keeps binding in pageDef while the UI component is deleted from the page.
    12. Save and Run
    Now, I didn't have to create Root Application Module in the code, but still achieved what I wanted.
    Thanks
    Bones Jones

    Well only to see if it is related to zeitgeist, I've removed (deinstalled) all zeitgeist related libs and apps:
    libzeitgeist
    gnome-shell-extension-zeitgeist
    libqzeitgeist
    zeitgeist
    gnome-activity-journal
    zeitgeist-datahub
    zeitgeist-extensions
    I still get the same error mentioned above:
    gnome-shell-calendar-server[1508]: Got HUP on stdin - exiting

  • Return an application exception from RFC

    Hi,
    my scenario is File -> XI -> RFC.
    I want to send by email any application exception returning from the RFC call.
    Since this is a Asynch call how do i implement it?

    Hi Mushon,
    ok. If i understood your scenario right, your message flow should be like:
    File->BP (asynchronous)
    BP<->RFC1 of R/3 (synchronous)
    RFC1 <-> RFC2 (synchronous) inside of R/3
    BP ->File / email (asynchronous)
    Your oringinal RFC is RFC2. Copy it to wrapper RFC1.
    Delete there source code and exceptions and put instead export parameter.
    For source code use button "pattern" to call RFC2.
    Fill the additional export parameters in the exceptions.
    All other parameters are taken from RFC1.
    Regards,
    Udo
