DAQcard-700 data vs time

Hello,
I'm using DAQcard 700 to receive sampled analog data to the computer. I'm planning to work with external trigger (EXTCONV) and my question is how can I receive 2 vectors of the data, one for the converted from analog to digital data itself and another for the time. In other words when trigger acquire I want to scan one sample of analog data, the time when it acquired and wait for another trigger. Is there any possibility to receive the data and the time when the data was sampled from this card?

Sounds good - have ever though about updating your hardware and program you application using the NI-DAQmx driver?
Generally, it's possible to program this with your DAQCard-700 under
Traditional NI-DAQ driver. Depending on your system performance, single
point I/O operations should be possible up to 1kHz (check the task
manager, your cpu you be quite busy ;-). NI-DAQmx has better single-
point I/O performance.
In the LabVIEW example finder you can find some VI's that are a good
point for getting started with DAQ- Programming - regarding your
request I'd like to recommend the "Acquire 1 point digital trig.vi" - I
have attached a modified version of this VI.
Since you just can read multiple datapoint when you need a dig.
trigger, you need to extract the first point out of the datavalue array.

DAQCard-700 timer usage

trying to find a function(VI) to use with labview 6.1 and a DAQCARD-700 to generate a digital trigger. I have tried using several timer functions but cannot get them to initialize or work. The VIs run but no count is outputed. Can you recommend a solution.

I have found another entry in the forum dealing with the same problem that I thought could be useful for you. "We wrote a VI for acquiring data on legacy DAQCards that do not support
hardware triggering, e.g., DAQCard 700. We are are using LabVIEW 6.1.
The trigger signal is a square wave output that is routed into channel 0
(Ach0) which also starts the timing of an analog waveform which is routed to
channel 1 (Ach1). We are using software triggering and a rising slope. The
signal is about 25 ms in duration, and we are using an 80 kHz acquisition
rate.
The problem is that there appears to be uncertainty in the triggering (+-)
0.5 ms about 10% of the time which causes the signal to jump back. We still
pick up jitter but it is tolerable although we would like to eliminate it,
which is about (+-) 0.02 ms.
Is there away to minimize this jitter, such as increasing the size of the
buffer? We tried increasing the buffer size, but that did not appear to
help. I don't think the problem is that noise is causing pre-mature
trigger, but I'm concerned that there may be variable computational delays
between detecting the trigger and collecting the signal waveform. We are not
collecting any pre-scan points."
The answer was:
"Since you are using Conditional Retrieval trigger on your DAQ task, the analog trigger level will be computed by the NI-DAQ driver. Since that is not a hardware operation, you can expect some jittering due to that method.
The only way to eliminate that is by using a DAQ board that has Analog Trigger circuitry, so you can perform that opeartion in hardware."
Hope this solves your problem. But just as it is said above, we have board that have that functionality built in.

DAQCard 700: Problem with multichannel data acq. - Lab_ISCAN_Start returns -10003

I'm trying to do an asynchronous data acquisition in Visual C++ with a DAQCard 700. I'm using the function Lab_ISCAN_Start with the following parameters:
device = 1 (seems ok)
numChannel = 8
gain = 1
count = 1000
timebase = 1
scanInterval = 1000
sampInterval = 10000
The error returned is -10003 which is "The value of a numeric parameter is invalid"
What am I doing wrong? Is one of those parameters out of range for my DAQCard? Or do I have to set up something beforehand?

DAQCard-700s do not support interval scanning so the scanInterval parameter must be set to 0. Otherwise, error -10003 will be returned.

Date and Time on Menu Bar

Up until now the date and time has been displayed on the menu bar as...

Here's what I've tried in trying to restore the format...
1) System Preferences > Menu Bar Clock > Show Date and Time in Menu Bar
2) Deleted the following preference files:
com.apple.MenuBarClock.plist
com.apple.systempreferences.plist
com.apple.systemuiserver.plist
Does anyone know how I can restore the format?

What Display
resolution do you normally use?
It's set at 1024 X 768.
Does the time&date
format go back to the expected form if you increase
resolution to maximum as a test? If the format
affected by starting up in Safe Mode?
After trying the remedy you reference in your previous post, the format is back to where it was so I won't be able to test it. But I guess you suspect that the Date and Time was truncated because there wasn't enough space between the left side and right side icons, is this right? It would seem like a logical explanation...

Installed new Mountain Lion now Date and time do not update

Hi,
I have a new Macbook pro bought June 2011 and find that using Safari and playing a Flash Movie it will glitch the movie stallas and will nor play correctly.
I see Kernel tasks are at 700 Mem and CPU at aaround 7%.
So i reinstall a new downloaded system from Apple Mountain Lion.
Stiil kernel Taskc are at 3 to 5% and and mem at 650meg
I still get the glitches in the new Safari and now i see the Date and time shows but is frozen till i click in the data and time in the upper right hand corner of the screen it will then Upate the time.
What is the problem here a clean install i see permissions have many errors after a clean install and will not fi, with disk utillities
any help here please

Yes, just delete the folders.
There could be other problems, not driver-related, but updating to the most recent drivers will at least eliminate that possibility.

is there a way of using Date and Time from XI to the Target Directory naming? To use variable substitution some fields of the message had to contain that date and time information, which is not our case.
For filename you can use "add time stamp" option, but and for target directory?

We've tried to write that shell script that you mentioned, but now we have a few doubts on how to make it create the proper directory.
In the file adapter, my target directory is "/%var1%/%var2%/", where %var1% and %var2% are variable substitutions, referencing data which comes from the payload. Now, I need the shell script to append "/<Year>/<Month>/" in the target directory. But where to archive the script? If it stays in the root directory, than how to make it create "/<Year>/<Month>/" folders inside a directory which is variable (/%var1%/%var2%/)?
Is there a way of passing %var1% and %var2% as parameters for the shell script?

Not enough space on my new SSD drive to import my data from time machine backup, how can I import my latest backup minus some big files?

I just got a new 256GB SSD drive for my mac, I want to import my data from time machine backup, but its larger than 256GB since it used to be on my old optical drive. How can I import my latest backup keeping out some big files on the external drive?

When you restore from a Time Machine back up, you can tell it to not transfer folders like Desktop, Documents. Downloads, Movies, Music, Pictures and Public. Take a look at the article below for the steps to restore from your back up.

Unable to insert date and time when using date datatype

I am hitting a bit of a problem when using the date datatype. When trying to save a row to the table where the field it throws an error ora 01830 and complains about converting the date format picture ends...etc. Now when I do the insert, I use the to_date function with the format of "dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi:ss". Of course, when I remove the time element, everything is perfect.
Checking sysdate, I noticed that the time element wasn't be displayed, and I used alter session set nls_date_format to set the date and time I want to save to the table, which worked!
Then based on advice in a previous thread to permanently fix the problem, I used alter system set nls_date_format ="dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi:ss" scope=spfile; This showed that it was altered, and I can see the setting in the em. In sqlplus, I shutdown the database, and restarted with startup mount; alter database open; and then selecting sysdate, it still shows the date as dd-mon-yy, and still no time! Checking the em, and looking up the nls_date_format the setting is still shown as "dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi:ss".
So, my question is this - what am I doing wrong? Why can't save date and time using date in Oracle 11g?????

ThanksYou most certainly can save the time. A DATE column, by definition stores date and time. What you describe is a presentation problem, and setting nls_date_format at the system as an init parm is the weakest of all settings as it is overridden by several other locations.
without seeing the exact sql that produced the error (not just your description of what you think you were doing) it is impossible to say for sure.

DVD camcorder (VIDEO_TS) - preserve clip date and time

I had asked this question on the forums a long time ago but iMovie did not seem to be supporting it reliably at the time. But since some time has passed, I wanted to check if iMovie '09 can import clips from a mini DVD (those used in camcorders to capture video directly on to DVD media) AND preserve the clip's date and time.
What I see is that the first clip gets some date and time related to the event's date and time (perhaps the start time of the first clip?) but all the other clips which are imported, get timestamps of 1 second after that first clip's timestamp.
These are all my home videos and in order to keep each clip short, I have had the habit of pausing after about a minute or two, resulting in MANY clips over MANY DVD's, so manually updating date and time is absolutely the last resort.
The DVD player can see the clip date and time correctly, and so could the camcorder (I have since sold the darn thing!) so I know that information exists somewhere in the DVD, but it seems like iMovie is unable to "see" it.
Any help would be appreciated, including programmability hints.

Thank you for your post. I figured out why iMovie was assigning today's date to everything that I imported. It turns out that many of my video files did not have a real "created" date--some had no date at all and some had Wednesday, December, 1967 or 9 (I think). iMovie defaulted today's date in both of these situations. I took your advice and ot A Better Finder Attribute and easily converted all of the files using the option to copy the "modified date" into the "created date" attribute. Now everything imports correctly into iMovie.

Yes, it's seems like a poor design decision.
By putting the date on the line below the Note title in the Notes Index, the app shows half the number of notes per page AND if you have a large number of notes, it takes twice as long to stroll down.
I doubt the designer actually uses the app.

I put my cd collection in itunes and now have duplicates of most songs (don't know how I did that). The duplicates have the exact same date and time, so the method to delete a "newer" duplicate will not work. Is there a simple way to delete exact duplicates from the itune library?

Working on a list to manage and track PTO. User completes PTO request form,

Start Date (with time)

Total Number of Days/hours requested: (calculation)

After searching around on google. I found this calculation to help me figure out how many BUSINESS days being requested.

This works great as long as its a [Full Day]="YES", displays results in column labeled Number of days
now if [Full Day]="No", displays results in column labeled Number of Hours
BUT this is my issue (well part of it) it calcuate the correct number of hours.. but puts a "1" in "Number of Days" why.. dates have not changed.. I think Its something with the above calculation but I could be way off.
the end result is I need number of days to concat with number of hours
i.e 1 full day 4 hours 1.4
0 full day 5 hours 0.5
1 full day 0 hours 1.0
so that the total can be deducted via workflow.. from the remaining balance in a tracker. (seperate list)
Any angels out there??

hi there,
i set my date and time and the time support yesterday and then i click the lock button to prevent further chance and last night i shut down my iMac, open it again in the morning the lock open back up and the timezone support change.
i redo that again and restart my iMac the same thing happen. is this a problem with my software or everyone have this problem?
any idea what should i do?

Having the same problem, & am running Parallels (which I haven't used for some time) not boot camp. I tick the box labeled "Set time automatically" & lock the "click the lock to make changes". When I reboot, the Lock is unlocked and the "set time...." is unticked. Any ideas. Cheers.

Problem with date and time syncing itouch to macbook

i have a problem with the date and time on ical when i sync my itouch4 w my macbookair. whatever i entered into my calendar in itouch will appear different in my ical( with a 6 hrs advance difference) and the alarm i set on my itouch in the calendar doesnt ring at the right time as set even though it is shown the time that i wanted.
Both my macbook n itouch are set to the same time zone and i have checked this many many times n the time is the same on both machine. but i just dont understand why is there a time difference when synced and my alarm just dont sound at the time it was supposedly set. it rings hours later n showing a different time that it was set but in the parenthesis the right time that i had set it.
One time my computer ran out of battery n went into sleep mode and when i open it again, the time n date setting was all off. which im surprised why it had gone off. So did this create the problem i have now with the date n time sync or something else?
please help!!!!
