DAQmx buffer property node not available

The following question was posted to the 'Multifunction DAQ' forum.
Since I received no respones, I'm trying it here:
I transferred an intact VI from a desktop
PC to a laptop.
On the laptop, however, the VI does not compile since the
property node "DAQmx Buffer" is not available. I suspect that I maybe
did not install the full DAQmx suite on the laptop but I don't know
which part might be missing.
(On both machines there is no DAQ hardware installed since I was just trying to do some editing.)
Is my suspicion correct? and how do I find out what's missing'?
If my suspicion is not correct: what else could it be?

If I can guess you should check which versions of daqmx are installed on both machines!

Daqmx channel property node

Hi all,
I've downloaded an example for a quad counter which uses a daqmx channel property node to specify A,B,Z channels.
I have tried to replicate the example using LV8.1 but the only properties that I get are 'Active Channel' and 'General Properties' with 4 sub properties. Why don't the channel properties show up? What am I missing here?
I have attached a jpeg of what im talking about. Any help is appreciated.

Hi David,
This happens when you have not inserted a DAQ device in your system or your DAQ device is not detected by your MAX.
You could do one of the following
1. Insert a DAQ card into the PCI/PXI slot
or
2. Simulate a DAQmx device in MAX.
By doing this, the corresponding DAQmx properties will show up

Tab Page visible property node not working correctly

I am making a vi in which we have a tab control with 6 pages and to move from one page to another there is ring control with option for every page on page 1( page 1 is the default page), at a time only one page is visible so we can move only through that ring control present on page 1 and to come back to page 1 from all other pages there is button "go back" on all other 5 pages, everything is working fine for 5 pages but when after going on page 6 and then if i press go back button instead of going back to page 1 program hangs and one more thing that i noticed is after stopping the program the page 6 becomes the default page( which otherwise is page1) i dont know why this is happening.
I am attaching the snippet of the code which executes when i press go back button.
one more thing that i am not getting here is when i checked the program through step execution, the last property node( page6 ) that is executing first after that it goes to first property node and then it goes in sequence, this also i want to how is this happening.

I think you would be better off just to use your array and turn on/off the necessary tabs instead of explicity setting each property every iteration.

Hierarchy node not available in Query Designer

Hello Gurus,
I can find the hierarchy node variable in BW but it is not available in query designer. Does anyone know what might be the problem and a solution?

How did you find the hierarchy node variable in BW? From backend SAPGUI, you will only be able to see the variable in some internal tables like RSZGLOBV. Did you mean this?
For "it is not available in query designer", do you means that when you want to create a hierarchy node variable for this characteristic in Query Designer, you don't find this certain hierarchy node variable in the hierarchy node variable list?
Important thing to notice is that, flat value variables and hierarchy node variables are listed separately. Did you make sure that you have chose to list hierarchy node variables in Query Designer?

Double Click Property Node not functioning with Queued State Machine

I am writing an application which relies on input from the operator to start different steps in a process of steps. I am using a queued state machine, however I cannot get the Double-Click property of my listbox to function with in this Queued state machine. I have tried Creating a refrence to the Listbox and creating a property node from that refrence. I have tried a property node of the control. The double click functon works only if the queueing is not occuring. It has something to do with the queue but I am at a loss as to what is causing it. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I have attached a simplified version of the state machine with the double click function. Thanks for any help on this. It is written in LV7.1

Deffered tax node not available in General Ledger Accounting

Hello,
I want to custumize deffered tax programme but the node
:General Ledger Accounting  Business Transactions  Report  Sales/Purchases Tax Returns  Deferred Taxes
is not availabe.
Please suggest what steps are needed to make it available.
ours is ECC 6.0.

Session Property Set not available in Portal Administration Console

We have a Portal Application (WLP 10.0 MP1) that needs to have visitor entitlements applied to allow some customization based upon a Session Property Set. The property set has been defined in Workshop and the .ses file is now included in our Portal EAR file in the /META-INF/data directory. When the EAR is deployed on a local (winXP) domain the property set is then available in the portal admin console and can be used to build entitlements. When the EAR is deployed to our test server (Solaris 10) the property set does not become available in the portal admin console. Both servers are in development mode and already have a previous version of the EAR deployed in streaming mode.
Is there anything obvious that needs to be done to ensure that a property set is enabled when deploying a new EAR?

We are actually performing the portal EAR build using maven but are creating the same directory layout as is created by Workshop when a data sync project is used and an EAR exported, i.e. the contents of the data sync project ends up in the EAR /META-INF/data directory.
The mystery here is that the property set correctly deploys in one environment but not in another. I'd really like to know whether there are any particular tricks to the property set deployment and what the deployent process actually does. Could issues with the target environment prevent correct deployment of the property set?

Is my DAQmx channel property node missing RTD?

Should RTD be available in the menu shown? I do not have an RTD hooked up right now; could this be the problem? However, I don't have a thermistor or a thermocouple and those options show up. I am trying to set A, B, C and R0 programmatically.

Thanks, Brad. I'm just using the 6009 for testing because I have it available in-house. Ultimately this code will be used with scxi. But this is very helpful since I am developing using DAQmx without the hardware attached, and. I'm sure this is not the last time I will be doing this. Thanks again!

Cisco ISE deregister node not available

Hello,
I installed two ISE node and registered the second node. Yesterday I saw an error message: Sync failed, deregister and register the second node.
I deregistered the second node and tried register again, but not worked. Now, the second node is showing in the first node but I can not deregister or register again, how I can deregister the second node to register again?

This seems to be an issue with invalid certificates. Have you already checked the certificates on both the sides. Also restart the services of secondary nodes one and check again.
As a next step, we need to look inside ise-psc.logs to further troubleshoot this issue.

Tab control label "font" property node

Hi!
I am trying to manage font dimensions of different controls.
I am using property nodes, and it is simple to find the font part in the list of properties you can choose, both the label font part and the different contents fonts (boolean text, numeric text, string, etc...).
However, when I search for the property used to manage the font of the pages labels in a tab control, I am not able to find it.
Can anybody tell me where to find it? Or is this property just not available for the property nodes?

Why can't I find "Data Transfer and Memory " option in channel property node?

Hi All,
I'm trying to find some properties such as "Data Transfer and Memory " in my "DAQmx Channel" property node, as below
But, in my Labview 8.5, I can't find it. I re-installed NI-DAQmx, but it didn't work. What I can get is

Hi Andrey,
Thank you for your reply. But I tried this on another computer on which lv 8.6 was installed, and it worked. I just simply dropped the channel property node, and didn't connect with any channel vi, and there were available options on that one. But for this pc, it doesn't work. I also configured the hardware in Mea & AE, it didn't help.
btw, my labview is full licenced.

Is there a performance loss or gain when enabling 'make available through property nodes' in class accessor?

As the topic states, I'm pondering if there is a performance hit (or gain?) by making class accessor available through property node?
Specifically, I wonder if the 'class accessor property node' is somehow different than 'normal' property nodes, which I tend to avoid as best I can due to how they often involve the GUI thread and are often detrimental to performance.
And since the follow up question to any answer would be to ask if including error handling terminals changes the answer?
-People who write LVOOP on a semi-regular basis or more, is there a concensus on when/if you use the property node option? Is it preferred as a default almost? Is it affected by whether the accessor is dynamic or static?

As far as I know, there is no difference between a subVI call and a property call and they should behave identically behind the scenes. There shouldn't be a forced call in the UI thread, because these don't deal with UI elements. It's simply a different syntax, so it should be the same for DD. I have seen some complaints about performance issues and/or bugs in earlier versions, but I don't remember if there was anything concrete. You can search on LAVA.
Likewise, I don't think the error I/O itself causes delays, but both the serialization of the calls and having case structures acting on those errors can. AQ had some posts on that and he dislikes both. Personally, I tend to like the readability, particularly for serialized calls. Note that some people don't like accessors (at least public ones) as a concept, suggesting that having writers for individual fields leads to all kinds of troubles, and that it's generally better to have specific functions with the relevant inputs.

Just checking on another odd feature: Typedef enum Property Node "Value" not reflecting changes in the Typedef?

Just encountered this odd behavior in LV 2011 which I reduced to the following example:
- create a new VI and drop an enum control on te FP.
- make this control a typedef and open the corresponding typedef
- create a "case 1" item and a "case 2" item
- save the typedef (I used the name Typedef Control 1) and CLOSE it (this is to allow updating of the original control).
- drop a case structure on the diagram and connect the enum to it:
So far so good. Now create a "Value" Property node for the enum and use it instead of the terminal:
If I now go back to the typedef and add a "case 3" item, save the typedef and close it, the control is updated, but the Property node is not.
How do I know that? For one, the Case Structure contextual menu does not offer to create a case for every value. Also, if I add a "case 3" case manually, it turns red.
Luckily, the magic Ctrl-R key stroke actually does solve this problem.
Tested in LV 2011.

By Ctrl-R trick do you simply mean running the VI? That is one way to force a recompile, but if you hold down Ctrl while pressing the run button you can recompile without running. This should not be "dangerous" in any situation.
As you have drawn your example, I see no reason not to use a local in that situation (ok, maybe for vanity). Still, I view the behavior you describe as a bug, and it should certainly be fixed for the benefit of local haters out there. You have to be a little careful where you draw the line between what gets handled in real time and what gets handled only at compile time.
