DAQmx drivers needed to calculate statistics in a standalone application ?

Hi!
My standalone application analyzes measured data and saves statistics into Access database. It uses Statistics express VI, among the others. It does not use any data acquisition library. I've made an installer to install it on my customer's computer. After installation I tried to run the application but an error occured (see below).
Well, it works now (after few hours). But my opinion is that my solution is a little bit strange: I simply installed DAQmx drivers.
1. Is this a bug ?
2. How to explain my customer why does he need 1GB of hardware drivers ?

let me repeat the whole story once again:
About
two years ago the same problem occured (with LabView 7.0 or 8.0, I
don't know exactly). Our local NI representative happened to be present
and we discussed the problem but we didn't find the solution. Instead
of using Statistics Express VI I made my own subVIs and the problem was
solved (and forgotten).
I've already checked my
customer's computer this morning and everything seems to be OK. DLL
library lvanlys.dll is installed in "data" folder.
To eliminate unnecessary details I've created a new project (see the attachment, please).
I
installed the program on my colleague's PC (my colleague never used
LabView in his life). The result is the same. You can see the error
report in the second attachement.
Then I've copied lvanlys.dll
file to all folders where programs usually search libraries: Windows,
Windows\system, Windows\system32 and Program Files\Mean4V. But program
can't find the library NI_AALBase.lvlib.
Obviously,
installation of DAQmx drivers adds something which is missing in my
build specification. I hope someone could explain what I'm doing wrong.

Can Agilent VEE 6 Pro be used to interface to the NI-DAQmx drivers?
I have previously used VEE 6 Pro and the NI_DAQ "Traditional" interface, (Version 6.9.2) using the DLLS functions to communicate to the cards.
I now want to add one of the M series DAQ cards to an existing setup for a new test program. It appears that M-series is only to be supported by DAQmx.
Is it possible to use VEE 6 together with DAQmx?
If so, will the old programs still function if I upgrade to NI-DAQ 7.3. and develop the new program using the NI-DAQmx interface?
Can "traditional" DAQ be used simultaneously with the mx driver?

You would need to contact Agilent to see if they have build DAQmx support for the VEE 6 Pro. As you mentioned, VEE 6 Pro makes DLL calls to the NI DAQ driver.
You are correct in that the M-Series boards are only supported in DAQmx. It is possible to use Traditional DAQ and DAQmx at the same time as long as you are using them on two different boards.

Many systems rely solely on SQL Server to update statistics automatically(AUTO UPDATE STATISTICS enabled), however, based on my research, large tables, tables with uneven data distributions, tables with ever-increasing keys and tables that have significant
changes in distribution often require manual statistics updates as the following explanation.
1.If a table is very big, then waiting for 20% of rows to change before SQL Server automatically updates the statistics could mean that millions of rows are modified, added or removed before it happens. Depending on the workload patterns and the data,
this could mean the optimizer is choosing a substandard execution plans long before SQL Server reaches the threshold where it invalidates statistics for a table and starts to update them automatically. In such cases, you might consider updating statistics
manually for those tables on a defined schedule (while leaving AUTO UPDATE STATISTICS enabled so that SQL Server continues to maintain statistics for other tables).
2.In cases where you know data distribution in a column is "skewed", it may be necessary to update statistics manually with a full sample, or create a set of filtered statistics in order to generate query plans of good quality. Remember,
however, that sampling with FULLSCAN can be costly for larger tables, and must be done so as not to affect production performance.
3.It is quite common to see an ascending key, such as an IDENTITY or date/time data types, used as the leading column in an index. In such cases, the statistic for the key rarely matches the actual data, unless we update the Statistic manually after
every insert.
So in the case above, we could perform manual statistics updates by

Does the DAQmx drivers include LVRun-Time Engine?
1. I first installed LVRun-Time Engine 7.1.1 on a new PC.
2. Then i ran the installer once again and selected remove to uninstall the program.
3. Next I installed DAQmx drivers 8.0.1
4. After this I tried to run my compiled labview.exe and it works fine(!)
When I look in control panel - add/remove programs and select National Instruments software and press change, I can see that NI LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 7.1.1 is installed.
Now why would version 7.1.1 be included in DAQmx 8.0.1?
Question1: Was perhaps the LVRTE install refreshed by the DAQmx install?
Question2: Is it not possible to completely remove installed software with the regular uninstall? I am trying to verify the install procedure as it will be on a fresh PC.

The run-time engine is included with DAQmx. If you look at the distribution, there is a Products folder that has it. My guess is that it's included for something like VI Logger or even the test panels in MAX.

i want the sum in below of completion of one set of values. but as i am calculating the sum in sql query , i put it in a group and it is appearing in the end of every line which is not my desired.
Kindly let me know how to do the grouping so that i can get it in the end of each combination of DC,store, lid no.

Need to calculate the area of a vector shape in Illustrator CS6

I need to calculate the area of vector graphics we are designing for a vinyl window sticker. I've read a couple of previous threads, and all the solutions provided either don't work (using cmd, option, shift F12 to open debugging menu to get area), or are beyond my level of experience (doing a build of the Telegraphics Path Area Filter). Does anyone have any solutions, or know how to access the debugging menu/window other than using cmd, shift, option F12....I couldn't even find it in the Shortcut Keys preferences). Thanks!

It worked very well - great stuff!. I am a physician and I am working on cardiac MRI.. such as calculating the heart function using slices of heart images in systole and diastole (when the heart is squeezed or full of blood).
.. we can write a little medical paper comparing really pricey software (GE, Siemens, Medis you name it..) with this method for people with not too many pennies in their pocket. The advantage of using Illustrator is that you can blow up the images up to the point of loosing resolution, and trace the margins of the heart with an accuracy that would make any GE guy cry for his mama..
I thought even a cm further.. for simple-minded people (such as physicians for example) one would like a way to input the area of one slice directly into an equation. For example would be a way to create a routine that would take the number of the area of one slice and input it in this equation? Such as to create a little square where you put the slice, you trace it and then the program takes that number and pitches it in the equation without you writing it down on a paper.

PXI 4070 use DAQmx Drivers

I have replaced a PXI 4060 card with a PXI 4070 card in a PXI 1042 chassis that I use for resistance measurements. I want to use DAQmx drivers instead of the traditional daq drivers. How can I do this?
My controlling software is VB6. I have had issues with traditional daq on Windows XP machines with new NI installations. Errors indicate there is an issue with the traditional daq drivers. The sample applications installed with the niDMM 2.7 installation error with message "Error Loading Driver Module". I have used the palbase utility in the past to work around this issue, however, the palbase utility is not failing to change the base address. There is an error message associated with the failure, but I figure I may save myself the headache by switching to DAQmx drivers.

I would recommend upgrading to the niDMM 3.0.4 drivers found here. This version is still compatible with Visual Basic 6.0 and Windows XP. niDMM 2.7 would have installed NI-DAQ 8.5. The name indicates that it is traditional DAQ, but as far as I can tell, version 8.5 was only DAQmx. 3.0.4 will also install a newer version of DAQmx that is compatible with XP, as well as the examples. It seems that the version you have should have worked, but there may be some corruption, or there may have been a version of traditional DAQ 8.5 at some time (we had some versions of NI-DAQ that included both traditional DAQ and DAQmx). if sy-subrc = 0.
i_mgmtavg-avgsal = imgmtavg-avg / imgmt-avg.
modify i_mgmtavg.
clear i_mgmtavg-avgsal.
endif.

Where did my DAQmx drivers go?

I created an application in LV 8.0 which included the use of DAQmx drivers.
After installing 8.2 on the same station (Still have 8.0 installed), launching the same app initiates a frenzied search for the DAQmx drivers.
I didn't see any applicable options on the 8.2 install screen. Did I miss something? The app still opens in 8.0 no problem.

You will have to re-install your daq drivers to use them with 8.20. I would download daqmx 8.3 it has some nice new features.

Installation stops when upgrading NI-DAQmx drivers

Hello,
I am deploying a CVi application since a couple of years under various CVI versions. Usually, going to a higher CVI version is rather seamless.
I switched from CVI2009 to CVI2012 recently. I created a new distribution kit with CVI2012.
When I run that kit over an existing installation created with CVI2009, this message pops up.
The DAQmx drivers on the previous installation (CVI2009) are:
with the CVI2012 version, it looks like this:
Since there's a rather large number of installations out there, I don't want to force my customers to manually uninstall the NI-DAQmx drivers, and then run my installation again.
So I guess my question is, - what can I do to avodi this?

Hello Greg,
Prior to 9.0, the driver was always Full version, and it created a large installer that prevented applications that use DAQmx from creating run-times. From DAQmx 9.0, the driver was restructured to three distributions:
Core: Just DAQmx Runtime
Configuration: (With MAX and Runtime)
Full
Probably, the message showed up because you only included the Core distribution. Could you try to add the Configuration as well?

I need to calculate %Total for members of scenario dimension across some measures.
M1, M2, M3, M4 are measures. Actual and Model are scenarios.
My Pivot should look like:

The best way to accomplish this is creating the % measure in the RPD.
You'll need the following setup
Actual = SUM(ACTUAL)
Total = SUM(ACTUAL) with logical level for Dimension set to total
% Total = 100.0*(Actual/Total)
Model = SUM(MODEL)
Total Model = SUM(MODEL) with logical level for Dimension set to total
% Total Model = 100.0*(Model/Total Model)
Put those measures into the Presentation layer and throw them into your report.

    call function 'DATE_CONVERT_TO_FACTORYDATE'
           exporting
                date                        = l_date
                factory_calendar_id         = l_cal
          importing
               workingday_indicator         = l_found
          exceptions
               others                       = 1 .
In case l_found is space, l_date is a working day. In that case increase a working day counter.

I need to calculate the monthly amount based to the annual salary.
Some countries use a multiplier more than 12 to calculate the annual salary (e.g : 13,14 ...).
My problem is to calculate the monthly increase.
The increase amount is on the annual salary but for the monthly increase, normally, the system divides by the mutliplier.
But some countries would like calculate these amount on 12 and not the real multiplier.
So, could you please tell me there are user-exits or other to make this ???

1)     If the Net Due Date is one or up to tens days less than the document date on any open AP item
2)     If the Net Due Date is "equal to" or "less than" the next month end date on any open AP item
3)     If the Net Due Date is "one day more than" the next month end date on any open AP item
4)     If the "GR posting date" + "payment in days (no of days)" is "one day more than" the next month end date
5)     If the Net Due Date of any open AP item is in Jan., FebDec, place the document amount in Jan, Feb...Dec month
6)     If "Payment date > net due date" from 11 to 30 days add amount

you can have parameters to pass the points and you can use this inside query to filter and return the required data from query. You can then use this dataset inside chart and plot the points.
