DAQmx show raw output?

I am writing an array of doubles using the DAQmx write function. I would like to know what the raw / unscaled values sent to the Digital/Analog converter are. Is there an easy way to do this, such as a premade VI, or maybe a way to use a simulated device as a loopback in NI MAX?

Hello fborlc,
Looking at the DAQmx help for X Series Simultaneous Sampling devices (like the USB-6366); it seems you should be able to use the Internal Channels with Channel Property Nodes. If you check the help information, it states that using the device’s AI physical channel (for example, Dev1/ai0) for the DAQmx Create Virtual Channel VI specifies the ADC for the internal channel. You can then set the appropriate string value on the Input Source channel attribute/property. If you place a Channel Property Node in the block diagram, configure it for Analog Input>>General Properties>>Input Configuration>>Input Source, you should be able to use this feature. I don’t have one of these devices at hand, so I couldn’t test it, but you could try this suggestion. I found this information by searching for Internal Channel X Series in the DAQmx Help file.

  • DAQMx has no output when the pulse width is less than 0.1sec

    Hi,
        I am developing a application to generate square wave(voltage) and out put from a DAQMx card (PCI-6723   - 32 point analog in/out).  I attache a simplified code (labview8.5) I wish somebody can help me to figure out what is the problem
        When I set pulse width longer than 0.1 sec. everything works fine. If I set the pulse width less than 0.1 sec, the output from DAQ eithet gets nothing or incorrect(I used a Osclliscope to monitor the  DAQ output), although my labview monitor showed correct output.   I wonder if it is a sampling issue of the DAQ card.
         Thanks

    I think one or two things could be causing the problem.
    1.  Your DAQmx write is set for 1 sample.  I don't know how that dynamic signal type works with such a setting.  Perhaps it is just putting out the first sample of the signal that is generated.
    2.  The math for the frequency of the square wave does not make sense.  You are adding a pulse delay with the pulse period, then inverting it to get the frequency.  So a 1 second delay with 1 second pulse is a 1/2 Hz wave.  A 4 second delay with a 2 second pulse would be a 1/6 Hz wave.  That doesn't make sense to me.
    I would recommend building your own waveform or array and not using the express VI.  If you have a 1000 Hz frequency established let's say, build a 1000 element array.  For a .1 second pulse, set replace 100 of those elements with a 100 element array of the voltage value you want.  You can index it wherever you want in the array to account for whatever delay you want.  If you want a 1 msec pulse, then just replace a single element of that array wherever you want.

  • Is the raw output from JSP and XSQLServlet the same?

    Hi
    Is there is difference between the raw output from XSQLServlet and JSP? For example, assuming the same content is being generated, is there some additional header information emitted by XSQLServlet that is not done by JSP?
    I am using software that successfully consumes generated content from a JSP OK, but the same content (using the same XML/XSL) generated from XSQLServlet is being rejected. I am puzzled by this. Maybe this is due to some differences in servlet output or an encoding issue? The content is not HTML but XML-like with an "application" contentType, like Steve's SVG example.
    It seems that XSQLServlet is showing some data prior to emitting the actual content, i.e. HTTP version, responding server version, content type and date, e.g.
    HTTP/1.0 200 OK^M
    Server: Resin/2.0.5^M
    Content-type: application/x-sky; charset=UTF-8^M
    Date: Thu, 28 Mar 2002 06:45:34 GMT^M
    ^M
    (then the generated content)
    Is this preamble usually generated by a JSP also?
    If not, can this information be turned off, or put another way, can XSQLServlet's raw output be set to be exactly like JSP? If not, is there a workaround?
    I have tried setting the following XSQLConfig.xml
    <suppress-mime-charset> for the mime-type &
    <character-set-conversion>
    <none/>
    </character-set-conversion>
    also, but to no avail.
    Please help! I really want to use XSQLServlet!
    Thanks.
    Michael.

    Yes, just less fine control over the process but the same engine.

    @Hariprasadbrk
    Do you mean you have use process class to start "cmd prompt" And want to display some output in it?
    If so, there is no need to use RedirectStandardOutput property. This property means the output of an application is written to the
    Process.StandardOutput stream.
    // Setup the process with the ProcessStartInfo class.
    ProcessStartInfo start = new ProcessStartInfo();
    start.FileName = @"C:\7za.exe"; // Specify exe name not cmd exe.
    start.UseShellExecute = false;
    start.RedirectStandardOutput = true;
    // Start the process.
    using (Process process = Process.Start(start))
    // Read in all the text from the process with the StreamReader.
    using (StreamReader reader = process.StandardOutput)
    string result = reader.ReadToEnd();
    Console.Write(result);
    Output
    This section shows the output of the process.

  • Background job not showing full output of Report

    Dear Experts
    we have created zpgm for stad report and try to take output as mail to particular user for future analysis bcaz stad gives only 2 days report only we need keep report for months together so when we run job in foreground it shows proper output but when same thing when we run from background it shows only some part of report in mail (we are unable to get full output through background job )
    we send mail through spool receipts we have created folder and maintain user for getting mails through so15 distribution list
    we need some input to come out of this major issue
    if there is any other workaround let me know
    Regards

    Hello,
    If a job is defined by transaction SM36, the print format parameters will only be taken into account, if they are saved as user specific print parameters of the batch user. If no user specific print format
    is defined,  the ALV standard logic will be processed adjusting the print format to the actual line size of the report.
    For example, the list line size is about 132 characters, the widest available format of the chosen printer will be selected X_65_132.
    The problem would be solved by defining a device type which is no format assigned to print, or by defining user specific print format parameters for the batch user, who creates the jobs in SM36 (see
    SAP note 1179399, item 6).

    Hi,
    There are Parameters DESTTYPE, DESFORMAT and DESNAME. You can set these parameters to get as you want.
    1) Output in Excel File
         ADD_PARAMETER(PL_ID, 'DESTYPE', TEXT_PARAMETER, 'FILE');
         ADD_PARAMETER(PL_ID, 'DESFORMAT', TEXT_PARAMETER, 'DELIMITED');
         ADD_PARAMETER(PL_ID, 'DESNAME', TEXT_PARAMETER, '<file_name>.XLS');2) output to printer
         ADD_PARAMETER(PL_ID, 'DESTYPE', TEXT_PARAMETER, 'PRINTER');
         ADD_PARAMETER(PL_ID, 'DESNAME', TEXT_PARAMETER, '<printer_name>');3) Email - Have to configure SMTP and all. ( i didn't checked it)
         ADD_PARAMETER(PL_ID, 'DESTYPE', TEXT_PARAMETER, 'MAIL');

  • DAQmx: Digital - Continuous Output.vi example with PCI-6519 (error -200077)

    Bonjour everyone,
    Main goal :
    I want to use 1 digital output of the PCI-6519 harware to make  a staked light indicator blink when user is needed to operate the test station.
    What I am trying:
    I open the labview 2013 wxample "DAQmx: Digital - Continuous Output.vi" to learn how I could use a DAQmx task to perform this blink instead of using a dynamic call of a VI changing the output in 'while loop'.
    The example states that my hardware should be able to run it but I always get an error -200077 right at the beginning with the DAQmx Timing.vi mentionning that my PORT2, line 0 does not support the 'Sample Clock' property which is hard coded in the example. I can't find a different property that this example will accept to try to change the status of my digital output on a time basis.  Does the PCI-6519 device support timing for a digital output or not?
    If anyone has a better or simplier idea to achieve such a simple goal, feel free to suggest.  I am using DAQmx for the first time and I don't know much about what my options are.
    Thanks

    Hi Nienscecco,
    Unfortunately PCI-6519 doesn't support HW timing, I've just tried with a simulate PCI-6519 device and I confirm you that you must specify an external clock in order to use this example.
    Do you have some kind of frequency generator to provide it ? Or maybe another NI board with embedded counters in order to build it ?
    Thanks in advance for your answers.

  • EEM variable for show command output and create a filename

    I'm configuring EEM applet, example CPU High event. When it triggers the event, action is "show tech | redirect tftp://x.x.x.x/showtechoutput". The EEM event is working fine and triggered the show tech output into the tftp server. My question is, i'd like to add maybe date/time in the filename so it will not overwrite the file everytime there is a triggered event.
    The EEM event variable i'm seeing in doc is "_event_pub_sec" but it won't work when i add after or before the filename. any idea?
    thanks in advance ...

    Adding $_event_pub_sec to the end of the filename should work:
    action 1.0 "show tech | redirect tftp://x.x.x.x/showtech.$_event_pub_sec"
    That said, TFTP is very particular about how files can be created.  Typically, a TFTP server will require the file to exist before a remote host can copy to it.  If the filename changes each second, this will not work.  Using a protocol like FTP or SCP may work better.

  • Get gnome to show raw images as thumbnails

    I want my gnome desktop to show RAW image files as thumbnails. I have an ubuntu machine that does this by default and I want this feature in my arch linux desktop. I've installed raw-thumbnailer and ufraw, but these didn't add RAW thumbnailing abilites to nautilus.
    Does anyone here have this feature enabled on their gnome desktop? Could you tell me how to do this?

    I have no idea if the nautilus thumbnailer can do that (not using gnome). You may be able to do it with thunar-thumbnailers though. I think you should be able to change the thumbnailer somewhere in gconf.

  • Bridge dont show raw files

    hello bridge dont show raw files, I bought todaz PS CC , installed it, removed it and installed again an d  it doesnt work still

    Hi All,
    About four months ago, I purchased CS3. I own two digital cameras, an EOS 5D and an EOS G9. I always shoot in Raw. When using a card reader to upload images through Bridge (i.e. get photos from camera), It worked flawlessly when reading the 5D. I could see the Raw images in bridge without a problem. When trying to read the EOS G9 Raw files from a card reader through bridge (i.e. get photos from camera) they were not recognized. I figured it must have something to do with drivers or how Camera Raw interprets the data. I upgraded Camera Raw, I believe to 4.5 on the advise from folks at Adobe. Bridge now recognizes the G9 Raw files and uploads them without issue. However, when trying to view the uploaded images through bridge it doesn't see the Raw images other than as a little Icon with a CR2 flag. Camera Raw can open an individual image, but the only way to view the images in mass, is to convert them to a PSD or JPG format. To have a few hundred Raw images in bridge and not be able to see them unless they're all converted to PSD or JPG is really disconcerting. Any insights or help with this would really be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance .... -Scott

    That camera has been supported since ACR 8.4.

  • AppBuilder Application doesnt show the output

    Hi All,
      I am doing the sample application in AppBuilder, when i run the application it opens a new browser window but it doesnt show the output.
    this is the problem, how to resolve this?
    If any body come across this issue please help me.
    Regards,
    Sravanya

    Hi Sravanya K,
    There seems to be some compatibility issue with latest Chrome update. (All the other pre requisites have nt had any releases very recently)
    Last release of other Pre requisites :
    Node JS - 5th june 2014 ( Node.js ChangeLog )
    JDK - (its to be manually updated).
    APP Builder (appbuilder-1.0.1252.zip is the last release which happened a long time back )
    Google Chrome - Can find latest release logs in Chrome Releases and chrome has an Update almost everyday
    UI5 Liraries - As per OpenUI5 - Download  16 th July 2014 is the last release of Ui5 libraries.
    More over App builder does not need any internet connectivity to atleast run the sample applications / templates of SuperList,Chart. (so the issue might be internally in the system using these pre requisites )
    So i certainly doubt the Auto Update feature of Google Chrome , causing this issue.
    Though this currently have nt worked in latest version of chrome in my system , other major browsers are still supported .
    As a work around can suggest to work with other browsers.
    I also tried with Safari , Firefox and  safari  worked satisfactorily -
    (Chrome, Safari are recommended for App Builder ) (Firefox worked partially)
    attached is the screenshot of Sample Application running in Safari
