Dashboard customization available to other users

For the different dashboards our user wants to update the settings once and make this view available to many people in his organization. How may I do this?
Here are steps to follow to clarify what I am asking.
1) View project dashboard.
2) Click Settings link.
3) Add and Remove columns.
4) Click Save as... button.
5) Enter a description.
6) In the assignment drop down, I only have user 00 should there be another option?
7) Click OK
8) Now user can select the view in their dashboard. (Or they could have set it to their intial view.)
Is there a way that I can do this once and share my view with others?
Thank you,
Wendy

Hi Wendy , try this
Access cProjects in standalone mode, after login append "SAP-CONFIG-MODE=X" at the end of the URL like below
http://<appserver>:<port>/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/cprojects?sap-client=345&sap-language=EN&SAP-CONFIG-mode=X
Select any project go to the table view and right click you will get option as "Setting for current configuration", you can change the no of columns to appear here. Award points.
Thanks

  • Make an app such as Skype available to other users (logins)

I need to make Skype available to other users set up on my (first) Mac... can't find help for this in the Help sys. I am a recovering PC user and new to Mac. I want to perform login management.  I have spent over three hours trying to figure out how to get Skype visible to other users on this (home) Mac.

    TY Drexus!
It is installed in neither of those locations.  It is not in 'Harddrive/Applications/" or user folders.  It appears to have installed it in the ROOT on the same level (in Finder) as "Macintosh HD."  I logged into my primary Admin account and used the Skype defaults for installation.
Sorry if this is a double-post.

  • Make queries available for other users

    Hello,
I have created a query in SQVI (quickviewer) and I am trying to make it available for other users.  How can I do that?  Do I need to create an infoset in SQ02?
    Thx,
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
Though I have not worked using T.code SQVI, I had done the ABAP Query using "SAP Query". The procedure in it is in T.Code SQ03, we create a User Group and assign the users in the same, so that the users can access the Query. Hope this might help you. If you require I can send you the documentation on the same.

how to make iPhotos library available to other users

To give others selective access to your iPhoto library, you have the option of using iCloud Photo Sharing, if the privacy implications don't bother you. The images will be stored temporarily on Apple servers.
If you want to give full read/write access to more than one user, see the support article linked below.

There is a way to share the library without moving it to a secondary volume. If you really need to do that, ask for instructions.

  • New application not available to other users

My iMac is set up with a separate user account for each family member. My wife has admin priveleges, my daughter's is a general account and my son's is restricted (i.e. kid friendly).
I just installed Rosetta Stone v3 from within my account. I confirmed that it runs properly; the installation was successful. My next step was to check that my family could use the program. Within my wife's account I got the following message: Fatal Application Error 5118. Naturally, my first thought was Permissions. I went back to my account and set the group Everyone to have read/write permissions and set the third menu (Others? Guests? I forget what it's called...) to read/write too. Back to my wife's account; Error 5118. I looked in the Get Info window to confirm the changes took place and they had. I restarted the machine, checked Get Info again (still read/write for everyone) and once again got Error 5118.
I've called Rosetta Stone. Of course they're not Mac-saavy, but they indicate Error 5118 is a permissions conflict.
My question(s): is there any way to ensure that applications I install are available to all users? Do I have to log in as Root (something I HATE doing) to install new applications?
    Thanks in advance...
    Dave

Problem Solved! Although I had set the privileges for the application, the problem was in HD>Library>Application Support>Rosetta Stone. By setting that folder and its enclosed folders to read/write for everyone, the fix was in.
It's too bad that I had to do any of this. The installer should have adopted the permissions from the folders it installed into. Grrrr.
BTW, the error message was a Rosetta Stone message, not a Mac OSX message; I didn't make that clear before.

  • How to make local scenarios available to other users

I have an xcelsius file with a couple of saved scenarios. I export the file to PDF and send it out to users. The users are not able to see or load the scenarios. Is there a way to fix this?

Correct me if I am wrong but scenarios are saved in some obscure path somewhere on the user's desktop. Sending a PDF - regarless of whether the recipient has Adobe Reader whatever version of the full Acrobat 9 - will not make any difference: the end user needs to have the scenarios in the same path. Even then, I am not sure that it works. If you export exactly the same version of a dashboard and run it on the same pc where scenarios were saved with the last version of the dashboard, they are not available. The path to which scenarios are saved seems to be different with every dashboard (I have tested this but I would be happy to be proved wrong).
Saving scenarios is abosultely crucial to many dashboards. The fact that dashboards are not transparently persistent is an issue, for me, and it is something that I would very much like to explore as part of new features. For example, it would be good to be able to let the user select where scenarios are saved or at least have them saved somewhere that is relatively easy to find. But there are pitfalls with that kind of freedom: you cannot have a situation with two quite different dashboards trying to load in the same scenario. By definition, that cannot work.
Long subject but the bottom line is: you cannot do it, at least not without some major hassle, in my experience.

  • How do I make my iTunes library available to other users on the same pc?

I would like my wife to be able to access my iTunes, but from her user account. That's possible, isn't it? Right now her library just comes up empty. I have Vista 64. What would be the easiest way to do this? Thanks in advance.

  • Can I share my address book with other user profiles on my computer?

My wife and I both logon to our iMac with different user accounts. However, we know all the same people and would like to share the contents of the Address Book. How do we go about this so that if I add a person to the address book, that my wife will see it when she gets on with her account?
    Thanks.

I realize yours was a suggestion to investigate & not a recommendation, but I wanted to point out some of the method's potential problems in case it was taken as the latter.
Should anyone decide to take the safer option of sharing vCards manually, they can make the procedure easier by creating a shared folder in Users/Shared & an alias of it in some convenient location like the desktop. Then, after creating new contacts they want to share, they need only drag them from the name list into the alias. The other account holder(s) then can drag them from that common folder into their own Address Book.
A variation of this idea is to create individual folders in each ~/Public/ folder (changing permissions as appropriate), or to use the Drop Box folder to make the vCard available to other user(s). This would reduce the confusion between "incoming" & "outgoing" vCards. I haven't tried it, but it might also be possible to automate the importing or at least notification for the receiving user with folder action scripts.

Dreamweaver had this capability many releases ago, but it has been dropped, so it's no longer available.

  • How to let other users use my customization?

    Hello,
I have a few nice dynamic pages with bind variables.
I use the user PORTAL to customize my bind variables, but what I customize is not for other users, they see the result of the default bind variables.
Surely there is a way to set the customization from a designer for the whole comunity. My question is how to pull that off.
Thanks for any information in advance.
    Kind Regards,
    Arnoud M. Barth

    Hi,
You can set customizations at the system level by clicking on the edit defaults link of the portlet. This changes the default values of the portlet. In 309 or release 1 clicking on the edit page will show you the edit defaults link on the right hand corner of the portlet. In case of 902 or release 2 each portlet has a actions icon. Clicking on that will bring you a list of actions you can perform on a portlet. You will have "Edit Defaults" link here.
    Thanks,

  • IBot user not receiving dashboard alert/email not the case for other users

    Hi,
I have a user who can create iBots and is able to deliver them to other users. However the user themselves cannot receive any iBot alerts on the dashboard or via email, even for iBots that they create themselves.
I've checked their account setting and their email is configured, they are part of the correct user groups etc. This user has never been able to receive any iBot alerts or any iBot content.
Can you let me know what else I can check as iBots are working for other users?
    Regards,
    AT

    Thanks Jay,
They are part of the same group (in fact thety are part more groups as well) as other users for whom alerts and iBots work. They have the relevant priviliges under Delivers, their email is correct.
They have access to the relevant Subject Area as it is ther user themselves who create the report and try to send it out using and iBot, other users receive the report apart from themselves. They themselves don't receive any alerts or emails.

  • How to share dashboards to other users?

    Dear All,
I have a created dashboards in My Folders.
Now i need to share dashboards to other users with read only.
    How can i do it?
Please share some tutorial or advice.
    BR,
    Eba

    Hi,
This is really bad idea but I will provide solution for you.
Give me user permission like administrator means (whom want to access those dashboards give me permission like administrator).
ex: Administrator can able to see all dashboard right-- same way you can asign permission like administrator.
Create user in your rpd and select group Administrator. then try to login answer he can see all the dashboards.
    Method :-2
Using Catalog Manager go to the user folder you want to share and change the ownership recursively to the account you are logged on Catalog Manager with. Then change and cascade the permissions recursively to add the other user/group that wants to see the user's dashboard. After doing that you will be able to reference the user's dashboard with a URL like this one (assuming the dashboard the page is named page 1 as per the default user's dashboard):
    /analytics/saw.dll?Dashboard;PortalPath=/users/user/_portal&Page=page%201&Action=Navigate
    Hope this help's

  • Dashboard Doesn't Work In User/Non-Admin Account

While Dashboard works in my Admin. account, it doesn't consistently work in the user accounts. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not. If it is there it is probably because of something I have fiddled around with in the accounts and parental controls but I can't remeber what I did!
Clicking to activate dashboard produces nothing and dragging icons to the desktop (after clicking the + sign) gives nothing. (blurriness/waves, then blank..)
I have tried repairing permissions and deleting various .plist files as suggested on the forums but to no use. What should I do?
    iMac G5 iSight   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I have precisely the same problem as the poster. DB works in admin and not in non admin. The permissions were ok. I had not tried deleting plists. I did download another widget and then without seeming to have done anything apposite it worked. Now after restarts and close down no go in non admin.
I have by the way got all the widgets in the HD Library so as I am told they are available to all users.
As for the reference to parental controls, 'dashboard.app' can only be got to through the 'locate' button and when I try that the message is that the app won't work under the restrictions on the non admin. He is set to be forbidden some apps like Apple script and Terminal. He does not have full access to the system prefs, or ibnstaller, what I think are sensible erstrictions. So what facilities does 'dashboard.app' require? Can't find info in the KB.
Incidentally when I try another posters recommendations to kill dashboard processes in Activity monitor the processes merely pop up again under a different PID. They are all running under the admin user where I performed this action. Must I effectively have to try AM under the 'faulty' non admin to test the Activity Monitor kill? That still leaves the issue of the facilities needed by dashboard to run under the non admin.
After all what need should there be for dashboard in an admin account. Its 'proper' use is the 'normal' account, in this case a non admin.

  • Copying a users' saved selection to other users

Hello, one of the users have about 10 saved selections on a dashboard. We want to make the saved selections available for another set of 30 users. Can this be done in OBIEE 10.1.3.4?
When i loggin as administrator, i see the ability to save saved selections to other groups. But, as an administrator, i dont have access to the saved selections of the users.
Maybe, i can copy the _selections folder in webcat to the other user's folder.  Anybody tried this?  Help.
    Thanks
    Vimala

    Hi,
In reports input Screen you have this option,
In selection screen you can find, Save as a New varient, give some name and save , don't select Save as User Varient and save it.
Note: Check with the select Save as User Varient & Use as default Varient options.
    Thanks
