Dashboard for csv file monitoring
Can someone explain to me how to add a widget to a dashboard for only alerts generated by with a specific rule or for text / csv file monitong?
Here a post about custom alert views which should help you setup the view you want.

Gui_upload for csv file with numeric n date fields
Hi ,
i searched on net on how to use GUI_UPLOAD for csv files using split function but the spilt function requires that the data type of all fields of the internal table should be character whereas in my case there is a numeric n data field too.So kindly help me how to do it.
One way ppl might suggest that give all the fields as char in the internal n after recieving the data in the internal convert the required fields back to data n numeric n then finally insert to the database but if i have 80 fields u would really dont want to do that as it requires precision to convert it to the same type n length as in the original database for all the fields.yeah i guess that would be a bit longer if i m having more no of fields (80) compared to ORACLE where this can be done in a shorter way.
SO i shall use 2 internal tables here rite?? i mean first one(with all fields as char) for storing the split function values and the other one (with actual data types) .CAN u plz tell me how to convert or cast from one data type to another n while moving values from 1st internal table to another which way shall i do.
Thanks for ur help n can u suggest if there is any other method for uploading csv also other than this split method n whether this method is better n faster than others.

How to get file download dialog box in IE 6.0 for .CSV files?
In our Java application, when we download .csv file (by clicking a tool bar button or menu item) in IE 5.5, it brings up the download dialog box and when we click the open button it opens the file in a seperate browser window but after migrating to IE 6.0 it doesn't bring the download dialog box and we are not able to open the excle sheet in a new browser window.
We tried downloading .csv file in IE 6.0 by changing its extension(such as .cs1 and .xls) even then it did not work.We also tried associating CSV type of extension with "Microsoft Excel Comma Separated Values File" in the Windows folder options (Windows Explorer->tools->folder options->file types(tab)), which did not work.
Please respond if you have come across this kind of issue and solution for the same.
Thanks in AdvanceThis has nothing to do with Java. It's Microsoft
setting for known file type. IE is responding to the
setting which will automatically download known file
type (MIME type).
To show the "Save As" file dialog, you have to do the
following (for each file type)
1. open Window Explorer
2. click on Tool-->"Folder Option"
3. click on the "File Type" tab
4. select the extension and then click on the
"Advance" button
5. Check the "Confirm open after download" checkbox
6. Click OK
IE should now display the "Save As" file dialog for
that extension. Remeber, you have to to this for all
extension you want to see a "file dialog" pop up.Unfortunately this is not the only cause. Even with this box checked, downloading java source files from the pages of The Java Tutorial causes them to open in the most recent IE - I (and others also) don't get the save/open dialog box. Java source files downloaded from (some) other websites result in the save/open dialog box. I believe that one of the security changes that MS made in IE's handling of files is the cause. The setting of content-disposition by the server appears to be the key, according to MSDN information. -
I would like to be able to set a target CSV file who's name changes dynamically. Specifically, it would be something like "today's date" + loan_Transactions (02-01-2008loan_Transactions for instance). Any thoughts would be appreciated!! Not having much luck.
Thanks.

JDBC wrapper for CSV files?
I wrote my own method to read in CSV files into a table structure (String[][]). For big CSV files, I added several functionalities to ignore specific data lines that have specific values. All this looks quite similar to a database table that I do a select * for and reduce the resulting rows via specific WHERE clause criterias. So I wonder if there's already such a JDBC wrapper around CSV files?
Yes. I believe the JDBC-ODBC bridge can use an Excel URL to read in a CSV. Though don't quote me on that one.
However, why not simply use your RDBMS data-import utility? You can invoke it from a scheduler or from Runtime.exec(). It should perform MUCH better than middleware for a huge CSV file. If manipulation needs to occur for the data, write it first to a temp table, then manipulate it.

do you know some free driver for using csv files as databases in java?
I've tried this one and it seems to work. Its read-only though.

Variable substitution for csv file
Hi Guys,
I am using Multimapping to generate 2 target messages and finally creating these 2 messges as csv files. But i need to use variable substitution (because dynamic configuration doesnt work in multimapping) to create the target files and i need to omit this node from content. i know if it is fixed length file we can use variable substitution and finally we can cut the variable in content conversion by using below method
fixedLengthToodShortHandling cut
Note:- I am using PI7.1
thanks,
madhuYou must separate variable filename from the other fields in several nodes.
Please, analyze if you can change your scenario, with next stucture:
<ns0:MT_MadhuMulti xmlns:ns0="http://rr.unilever.com/bconepi13">
<Strutcture>
<Name>Syam</Name>
<***>FEMALE</***>
<ID>123</ID>
</Strutcture>
</Strutcture>
<Strutcture>
<Name>Syam1</Name>
<***>Male</***>
<ID>789</ID>
</Strutcture>
<nothing>
<Filename>EmpDetails</EmpDetails>
</nothing>
</ns0:MT_MadhuMulti>
And then in your CC:
Recordset strucutre --> Structure,nothing
Structure.fieldSeparator --> ;
nothing.fieldFixedLengths --> 0
nothing.fixedLengthTooShortHandling --> Cut
nothing.endSeparator --> '0'

File Adapter Fault Handling for CSV files
I have been working on a requirement where the file adapter picks up the file and gives to the BPEL for processing the data.
In my composite, i have configured the file adapter as a service for reading files, and i defined the xsd using the native format builder....
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
xmlns:nxsd="http://xmlns.oracle.com/pcbpel/nxsd"
xmlns:tns="http://TargetNamespace.com/ReadFile"
targetNamespace="http://TargetNamespace.com/ReadFile"
elementFormDefault="qualified"
attributeFormDefault="unqualified"
nxsd:version="NXSD"
nxsd:stream="chars"
nxsd:encoding="US-ASCII"
nxsd:hasHeader="true"
nxsd:headerLines="1"
nxsd:headerLinesTerminatedBy="${eol}"

<xsd:element name="Student" minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="unbounded">
<xsd:complexType>

<xsd:element name="Name" type="xsd:string" nxsd:style="terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy="," nxsd:quotedBy=""" />
<xsd:element name="Street1" type="xsd:string" nxsd:style="terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy="," nxsd:quotedBy=""" />
<xsd:element name="Street2" type="xsd:string" nxsd:style="terminated" nxsd:terminatedBy="," nxsd:quotedBy=""" />

</xsd:sequence>
</xsd:complexType>
</xsd:element>
</xsd:sequence>
</xsd:complexType>
</xsd:element>
</xsd:schema>
If i put some test data like below , the .txt file is being picked up and the valid being passed to the BPEL and its not returning any error for the invalid records. In this case, just want to throw an error and exit the bpel.

Polling for CSV file - File share path
I am trying to poll a share path to pick the CSV file & process but the message that i am getting in osb server logs ,after placing the file is as below
<BEA-000000> <New Metadata version is 5819247095273283897>
I could not understand whether the file is read or not
thanks,It didn't happen like that....i tried with delete option as well as archive option as settings in OSB but neither of didnt succeedFile must get deleted from the poll directory irrespective of the archive or delete option. Make sure that archive directory is NOT same as poll directory.
whats the inference from the message as belowThis is an info message only. Have you mapped/mounted the shared directory to the system where OSB is installed? Does the OS user which started OSB, has complete priviledges (read, write, delete) on shared folder?

NXSD translator for CSV file (Header-Line-Trailer)
Hi,
We have to process the file coming in below format.
File Format-
Header Line (Only once)
Payload lines. (is unbounded)
Trailer Line (only once) ----> this is what i like to skipped by adapter.
Sample file-
2013-10-10
1,2,3,4,4,5,1
35,5,5,66,6,1,1
2
We don't have any record identifier to identify the record type. Only info we have is that first record will be the header and last records will be the trailer and in between that we will get payload.
Can some one tell how to create XSD for above type of file?
Thanks,
AbHi Puneet,
As you suggested I generated a separate schema for header+payload and trailer and tried to merge them using both choice and sequence. But not of them seems to be working.
are you sure that we can handle this scenario in xsd? Below is the generated schema.
File Format-
Header Line (Only once)
Payload lines. (is unbounded)
Trailer Line (only once) ----> this is what i like to skipped by adapter.

Sender FCC for CSV file with Reoccuring Record Structures
Hello,
I am trying to use FCC to bring in an X12850 Purchase Order file layout WITHOUT using seeburger, etc.
The Configuration I have in place works if the text file is:
Heading1
Heading2
detail1
detail2
detail3
Footer1
OR the text file contains:
Heading1
Heading2
detail1
detail1
detail2
detail2
detail3
detail3
Footer1
Unfortunately, the file I need to work has the format:
Heading1
Heading2
detail1
detail2
detail3
detail1
detail2
detail3
Footer1
When I try to send process this file I get the error ERROR consistency check in recordset structure validation (line no.6 : missing structure(s) before type detail1
Is it possible via FCC to bring in this file as XML?If you change the record sequence to variable it works.

I need to monitor a transducer block parameter and save it to a CSV file.
How can I monitor a transducer block parameter and save it to a CSV file? The reason is that I need to do some long-term testing of an FFb device we are developing, and I need to read the primary output parameter of the transducer block (not the scheduled AI block) every second or two and save to a CSV file.
I have tried to figure out a way to do that with FBUS Configurator, unsuccessfully, and I purchased FBUS Monitor, as that was recommended by an industry expert, but I have been unsuccessful at getting that to work as well.Hi Wpinson,
Neither FBUS Configurator nor Monitor can meet your requirement. However, there are other approaches. NI-FBUS provides APIs for C, LabVIEW, VB and C#. You can use these APIs to read a parameter value of any block and use standard file IO functions to save the date into CSV file. The LabVIEW APIs are highly recommended because they are easy-to-use and LabVIEW also provides APIs for CSV file operations. You can build the application w/ LabVIEW in a short time.
You can find the examples of the FBUS APIs in the following folders:
1. C: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-FBUS\MS Visual C\examples
2. VB: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-FBUS\MS Visual Basic\example
3. C#: C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-FBUS\MS .NET\examples\CsharpExample
4. LabVIEW: search "fieldbus" in the LabVIEW example finder. -
Csv files for OBIA procurement and spend analytics
hi,
which csv files we need to configure in order to install OBIA 7.9.6.3 procurement and spend analytic for EBS R12 1 3 as source?
In documentation, oracle given set of files for 11i & R12? do we need to configure csv files for both version ???
As per documentation,counter files for , CSV files req for source as 11i are not there in R12???
please guide???Hi,
To be safe, configure all of the domain value files documented in the section http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E20490_01/bia.7963/e19039/configsupplychain.htm#CACIEBBH
Do this regardless of whether they state 11i or R12 in the filename. Some of the files have not changed from 11i adapters, so the filenames have not been updated e.g. domainValues_Employee_Expense_Type_ora11i.csv
Please mark if helpful / correct,
Andy
