Data Components....

Hi!
Can someone please explain how this application component is supposed to work. Following the wizard and reading the help doesn't exactly make things any clearer.
A simple example would help...
Regards Mikael

Hi,
This component can be used where data is not from the table. You can create the component with default values and run
it. You will get an edit data link, which allows you to enter data in a excel format. You can save this data. You can then
render this data either as a report or a chart. You have something called visualization type when you edit the component.
This allows you to render the data as a chart or report. In case of report you can select the columns in the same fashion
as you do for the wizard and qbe reports. The chart colum selection is same as the charts component. The only difference
here is that the data need not be from a table.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Sharmila

  • Data Components && Query Parameters

    I just started playing with the database binding since I use PostgreSQL. I have a couple questions around parameters. Let's say that I want to make a page to display / update configuration variables from my application. I have a table in my database called config, with two simple members ckey and cvalue. Let's say I have 20 key / value pairs.
    I want my page to simply load the values associated with all 20 keys into 20 different text boxes. I created a query with the WHERE clause being WHERE ckey = ?. Now, I've seen some posts that say that I have to have a Session Bean parameter to populate this ? -- is this correct? Can't I have a simple keyword somewhere since this parameter will be fairly static for each of my 20 text boxes? Could I just name each text box the associated ckey name?
    Secondly, how do I go about letting the data components update and validate this data if it is changed? The tutorial didn't show me much. Thanks.

    Hi,
    Please take a look at the AppModel sample application. This is available at:
    http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/reference/codesamples/sampleapps.html
    This sample application demonstrates many features including how to handle the query parameters and how to update etc.
    Hope this helps

  • Getting Data Components to export on Frame 3!!!

    Finally went to ColdFusion and some data connectivity.
    Installed the Data Connection Wizard and DataGrid Column Editor and
    whatever else was there already for data/web services. I'm trying
    to get my standard preloader to work:
    1) Import the Standard Components FLA from External library
    into my main file, making sure Export in first frame is off.
    2) In Publish settings set all classes to be exported in
    frame 3.
    3) Have a 3 frame preloader than jumps to Scene 3 (the main
    movie) when done.
    4) Scene 2 stores all the crap so it's available (i.e., the
    big fat components in use in the movie).
    But now that I've added all these data components, there
    doesn't seem to be a way to get them to export properly to frame 3,
    so I am stuck loading all my classes on frame 1, which makes
    preloading useless, because by the time it starts even registering,
    it's already done, i.e., no user feedback for a long time than
    bang, there you go...if you've not moved on thinking the site has
    crashed LOL.
    Specifically, I need to get this thing to work with all the
    data classes happening in frame 3, by following my steps above as
    far as preloader and scenes and AS publish settings goes:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/coldfusion/articles/guestbook_print.html
    I'm lost, I don't see any way to add uncompiled clips or
    anything like that...you can't select off export in frame one with
    these data components...
    Any suggestions?

    hi x,
    I am using an 8 slot chassis at 1 m.  You mentioned it being cheaper for a breakout box, but on my end it seems so much cheaper to just take 4-20mA inputs from already amped pressure sensors (I've been looking at the majority of the products out there in regards to bringing in current and converting to voltage...though that doesn't seem to save any cash....  what does your DAQ set-up entail?  it may shed some light on how you are able to save some dough).  I have only used 4-20mA pressure sensors in the past, though I'd imagine they do make amplified pressure sensors giving a voltage output...and thus using the 9205 I'd definitely save a hell of a lot of cash with 2-4xs the inputs than the 9203 module.  In regards to the thermocouple inputs, what is the most cost effective method?  It seems that the 9211 modules aren't too shabby for the price, and the other signal conditioning modules (non-CRIO) were just as costly if not more.  I could always get a 4-20mA transmitter and convert the thermocouple voltage to the 4-20mA (if I needed to save space on the CRIO chassis).
    The present application is in regards to making a DAQ system that gives our customers a wide array of choices for DAQ on their testbeds... It sounds like you guys hit it pretty hard with data-acquisition.  I feel greener and greener the more I read these boards, that is in skill level.
    In regards to my first questions, anyone else have any other info?
    Thanks for the reply X.

  • Problem validating an two Input Date components !...

    Hi to all the users !. I would like to tell my problem... I have two input dates ("from" and "to") and I would like that the value from the "from" component isn't higher than the value from the "to" component... For that, I have use a validateDateTimeRange validator and set the "Maximum" value... My problem is that I don't get validated my inputdates components and additionally, when I select a date it appears with a strange format... Although I set the pattern to "dd/mm/yyyy" !... Let say... If I choose the 23th of July of 2012, the input date show "23/58/2012"... What would be the problem ?... Thankx !...

  • ActionScript to bind XML data to components

    How can I use ActionScript to bind XML data to a comboBox
    component instead of using the component inspector? (I have done
    the latter, successfully, but that doesn’t allow access to
    the code - .)
    My ActionScript so far imports the data (the trace picks it

    festXMLlistener.result = function(evt:Object) {

    xcFestival.addEventListener("result",festXMLlistener);

  • Dynamic context, ALV, no data - but everything seems to be in place!

    I've created a component for displaying data in an ALV, with the intention of using it in other components.
    The component controller has two methods:
    SET_DATA_STRUCTURE (parameter I_attributes IMPORTING type WDR_CONTEXT_ATTR_INFO_MAP).
    SET_CONTENTS (parameter i_reference_contents IMPORTING type ref to data).
    The both trigger similarly named events which are reacted to by the view controller.
    The handler for the data structure is this:
       data root_info type ref to if_wd_context_node_info.
       root_info = wd_context->get_node_info( ).
       data data_node type ref to if_wd_context_node_info.
       data_node = root_info->add_new_child_node( name = 'DATA'
                                      is_initialize_lead_selection = abap_false
                                      is_static = abap_false
                                      is_multiple = abap_true
                                      attributes = i_structure ).
    The handler for set_contents sets the view attribute reference_to_contents.
    The WDDOMODIFYVIEW method handles the contents (only when there is new data).
         data lo_nd_table_contents type ref to if_wd_context_node.
         lo_nd_table_contents = wd_context->get_child_node( name = 'DATA' ).
         field-symbols <table_contents> type any table.
         assign wd_this->reference_to_contents->* to <table_contents>.
         if <table_contents> is assigned.
           lo_nd_table_contents->bind_table( new_items = <table_contents> set_initial_elements = abap_true ).
         endif.
         data lo_interfacecontroller type ref to iwci_salv_wd_table .
         lo_interfacecontroller =   wd_this->wd_cpifc_alv( ).
         lo_interfacecontroller->set_data( r_node_data = lo_nd_table_contents ).
         wd_this->new_contents = abap_false.
    When I test my application, I can see inthe debugger that the context is correctly created and populated. The data is bound correctly to the context. But no data is displayed in the grid.
    I've looked through the various tutorials, and can't see what I've missed.
    I've instantiated the usage in WDOINIT of the view. I've embedded the control in the window. Every step checks out - but still no data is seen. I've tried the refresh method on the interface controller of the usage - nothing.
    I've just checked, and the field order and field names of the data being sent in reference_to_contents are identical to that in i_attributes.

    Well, I tried it, and a few other things based on it, and it appears you have the solution.
    My code is:
       DATA root_info TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node_info.
       root_info = wd_context->get_node_info( ).
       " Convert attributes to RTTI entries
       DATA attribute TYPE wdr_context_attribute_info.
       LOOP AT i_structure INTO attribute.
         DATA components TYPE cl_abap_structdescr=>component_table.
         DATA component  TYPE abap_componentdescr.
         DATA type       TYPE REF TO cl_abap_datadescr.
         CLEAR component.
         component-name = attribute-name.
         component-type ?= cl_abap_typedescr=>describe_by_name( attribute-type_name ).
         INSERT component INTO TABLE components.
       ENDLOOP.
      " Create the new context, starting at TABLE DATA with attributes as in "components"
       root_info->add_new_child_node(
                                      name = 'DATA'
                                      is_initialize_lead_selection = abap_false
                                      is_static = abap_false
                                      static_element_rtti = cl_abap_structdescr=>create( components ) ).
    (I'm in a 7.3 system, so I get to use chaining of methods!)

  • Input Date does not work correctly In dynamic region

    Hello everyone.
    I created a view with a dynamic region. When switch to a region with Input Date components, if I click the "Choose Date" button, this region will exit to default region without any error message.
    The component works well in default region but not in regions switched by Link.
    I tried it in a completely new application and i am sure there is no any problem except the component and the region themselves.
    SO, if someone tied doing this and know what cause it and how to fix it?
    Edited by: 1007000 on 2013-5-20 下午8:49

    Well, i find out the problem. I set the managed bean of the region backing scope, and Input Date is a server-side component. So the taskflow id will lost when i click the Choose Date button.
    change the scope to pageflow, and it works.

  • JSF design view - visual components are shrinking

    Hello,
    I have some strange issue while using Design view for JSF and data binding.
    Once I drop any data control elements into visual component (panel, etc) my visual components are shrinking to such size, that I cannot distinguish any elements within design view. I cannot use design view since then and have to place all elements base on structure panel.
    How to reproduce:
    1. Create new JSF page with wizard and accept defaults.
    2. Drop one of the panels (panel box, panel group layout) into JSF layout
    At this stage my visual elements occupy 100% of design view screen and represent anticipated outcome
    3. Drag and drop one of the data control elements (data control panel) into created panels on JSF and create table or form
    Immediately after it visual panel where data control was dropped shrinks to approximately 1/4 of the screen and I cannot see neither available space nor created table for my data components.
    I figured out, that if I remove created by wizard default <af:messages> tag from the top of my JSF, then design view representation fixes. Not sure if I should remove <af:messages> from all my pages.
    Above all looks to me as and bug.
    Environment:
    -Jdeveloper 11g
    -Windows Vista 64b
    -Not bundled JDK 6

    Hi Shay,
    Thank you for response.
    1. I tried to play with screen size without result
    2. I checked your video post, but this does not resolve my issue
    3. This issue occures with all JSF pages and can be reproduced even when following official Oracle step by step tutorials.
    4. I figured out, that removing <af:messages> tag resolves the issue ?! It seems this tag is added by default during drag and drop binding.
    5. On this link http://drop.io/jdev_001 you can see how design view is changes with and without <af:messages> tag
    6. Below is code example from one of the tutorials, that leads to shrinking as well:
    7. Once app is deployed and running page get normal view in IE as expected, so it seems to me, it is issue with Jdev design view, probably influenced by my environment, if nobody reported it before.
    Thank you for your help.

  • No more date in the Apple menu bar with OSX 10.5.6

    What is for me a glaring omission from both windows and Mac is the option to show the current date. The trick described at http://cybernetnews.com/2008/05/22/cybernotes-add-the-date-to-mac-menubar-clock/ however worked perfect. Until now... Unfortunately, it looks like with OSX 10.5.6 this no longer works. The behaviour when you have the date components in the time configured is odd: at first the top-right system menus seems to behave normal, eg when you click the airport option. But when you move the mouse down to select a menu item, the menu closes quickly on you and leaves the air tunes menu marked blue. Similar things happen with Time Machine and other system menus; rendering the top-right menu practically useless. Switching back (via Preferences to -in my case- Dutch system setting) will remove the date from the clock and restore the menu to normal behaviour.
    Does anybody know a nice little date utility for in the menu bar that works with 10.5.6 ? Thanks !

    I have no issues using the trick described in that method. Something is likely wrong with your system. It's also possible that the issue is specific to the Dutch localization.
    either way, try resetting your time display preferences
    enter the following terminal command
    rm ~/Library/Preferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist
    then log out/in. Your time display will be reset to the default. change it again using the method in that link.

  • Combined Date range Field

    Hi
    I want to implement a single date range field like :
    12/11/2011 - 12/15/2011
    and on click on this field wil open a calender for 3 months which is scrollable and we can directly select "to date" and "from date" .
    Is there any component in adf to implement the same.

    Hi,
    what about building a declarative component? The component is a text field with a button associated to bring up the date select fields. In teh date select field (a popup) you have two date pickers next to each other, one showing the from and one the to. Because the data components can be dynamically refreshed and modified, you can nicely disable all dates before the chosen "from" date in the "to" date field. You then bind the declarative component to the ADF attribute you want to persist the value in. The declarative component uses a managed bean to return from date - to date as a String

    Hi all,
    Being a novice with Applescript I have read what I can find on this forum, but are not able to find exactly what I'm looking for. I think that the posting "Using AppleScript to create folders and place files in them" is the closest I get to what I want but I want to create the folders based on EXIF creation date.
    Let me explain.
    I have a folder that contains thousands of jpg, mp4, mov and avi files; all created by different cameras. I want to bring some order to this and place files in folders based on year, month and date that the file was created (the photo taken or the video captured). This date is stored in the EXIF creation date.
         Take all files in folder A
          foreach file find the EXIF creation date
          move each file into directory tree (at same location is ok) where toplevel is YEAR, next directory level is named accoring to EXIF creation date as MMDDYY
          if no EXIF creation date can be found, fallback to creation date (file property?)
          if no good date is found, leave file alone in folder A for manual sorting; do not use modification date as this may have been altered
         this would create a structure as
         2002
                011602
                        File 1 taken Jan 16 2002
                        File 2 taken Jan 16 2002
                082002
                        File 1 taken Aug 20 2002
                        File 2 taken Aug 20 2002
          2003
                 etc
         2004
             |   etc
         2014
                 010114
                        File 1 taken Jan 1 2014
    etc etc

    Well, technically that's correct, Frank, but the same could be said of much of AppleScript - the core functionality is limited, but there's a lot you can do.
    For example, it's actually trivial to use Image Events get any given EXIF tag of an image:
    set theFile to (choose file)
    tell application "Image Events"
              set f to open theFile
              set cD to value of metadata tag "CreationDate" of f
      close f
    end tell
    Now, cD will have the value of the CreationDate tag (assuming it exists, of course - you'll need to wrap this in a try/end try statement). Once you have that it shouldn't be too hard to extract the date components, work out the target directory name and move the file.

  • Material Components

    Hi Gurus,
    I am doing one report in MM, the requirement is i need to fetch Material Issued Quantity & Total Quantity to Vendor.
    I am getting the Issued Quantity, but the problem is with Total Quantity.
    I asked my Functional Guy, he told me to pick the value from ME23n -- > PO --> Material Data (in item data ) > Components>
    then the Required Qty of Materials there.
    I have used MAST & STPO tables but the data is coming for some Materials & not coming for others.
    Can any one tell me where those values get stored? Which tables i need to use?
    Regards,
    Srinath

    Hi,
    Issued quantity means whetehr it is issued to cost center or any?
    Total quantity to vendor , it means is it a order quantity?
    Regards
    Madduri
