Data deleted in data targets

Hi Gurus,
By mistake I have deleted the data in production from some data targets
all the data is still available in PSA (for 9 months).
This happened in two data targets from two data sources.
No. of records are not even 1 million.
Total no. of request for each PAS is 279.
Is there a way I can load the data in parallel or something.
which can complete the task faster. Right now I am selecting each request
and loading one by one.

HI,
If you are in 3.5 goto reconsturction and select all requet you need to load and go for reconstruction which will reconstruct all request one after the another. No manual intervention necessary.
incase of 7.0 do a init without datatransfer from PSA and give a full update request for 3 months and load all the data which will help you in completing the data load faster.

Hello,
is it possible to automatically delete a certain data set of a master data bearing InfoObject which is delta enabled ? Does a delta load for master data InfoObjects allow to fully delete a certain data set?
Example:
Delta Master InfoObject: Z_Test
Attributes: Z_Name, Z_Region, ....
Data sets:
(1) 12345, Name1, Region1, ....
(2) 23456, Name2, Region2, .... (this data set should be completely deleted)
(3) 34567, Name3, Region3, ...
Expected result:
(1) 12345
(2) 34567
I just want to know whether the deletion can be performed through a delta data load or not?

Hi Marco,
Welcome to SDN!!
You can goto RSA1 -> Info-object -> maintain master data and delete the unwanted records and loads the ones you need. If the no. of records are more then you may need to write an ABAP program. But before all this deletion make sure the master data is not used in any other Data target.

Master Data deletion and data load

Hi,
In a process chain, Master data of my InfoObject are deleted then reloaded.
My InfoObject is used in cubes and ODS that are loaded later in full or delta.
My question is: what happens if thoses cubes and ODS are loaded when Master data of my InfoObject are blank (=Process chain failure / Master Data of my InfoObject are deleted but not loaded) ?

you cant delete the master data , till the time it exits in any of the data target ( cube or ODS).
Now lets say you have new record for master data coming in say , example new material being introduced.
The cube or ODS will take that new mateiral from the transactional data , and to maintain the corresponding the master data when ever it is loaded successfully it will reflect in your reports provided you have maintain/hierarchy attribute change job scheduled.

but before extract date I want to delete some date from target?
how to do?

Just to change a bit of terminology in the reply, within the mapping, click on operator properties and choose TRUNCATE/INSERT.
Note that truncate is dependent on constraints, so you probably must disable those before doing this. You can of course do DELETE/INSERT...

How to delete the data loaded into MySQL target table using Scripts

Hi Experts
I created a Job with a validation transformation. If the Validation was failed the data passed the validation will be loaded into Pass table and the data failed will be loaded into failed table.
My requirement was if the data was loaded into Failed database table then i have to delete the data loaded into the Passed table using Script.
But in the script i have written the code as
sql('database','delete from <tablename>');
but as it is an SQL Query execution it is rising exception for the query.
How can i delete the data loaded into MySQL Target table using scripts.
Please guide me for this error

Delete Master Data - with or without sids

Hi
i am working on 0customer_attr
now when i right click and see master data it has 100 records
the same in r3 has 85 records.
so i thought i will try to delete master data and then load again.
so i right cick on 0customer and choose Delete master data.
now if i go back and see data for 0customer it still exists.
q1. what is the approach to delete and reload master data so between r3 and bw synchronization exists ???
q2. should i select with SIDS or without SIDS ???
how to rectify this error.

Q1..how can i find which transaction data is using those records ?
Doubleclick on the Master data IO. In the right pane you will find "Where-Used List" option. Click on that. It will give you the entire list of BW objects(DSO, Cube etc) in which your Master data IO is used.
q2. How can i delete transaction data
Right click on the Data targets(DSO, Cube etc) in which your master data IO is used, select the option Delete Data.
(or) Right click on the Data targets(DSO, Cube)>Manage>Select the Request-->Delete
q3. i dont see anything in psa,, it is master data so is that why there is no psa ??
Though it is a Master data, you should have loaded the data via DS so PSA will be there. It is possible that you might have deleted the PSA data.
Do one thing, delete all the Transactional Data(follow Q2 ans), then delete Master Data contents. Then do the loading again.

Generally we can delete the data in the request for the data of year 2003 from request tab in manage screen of datatarget. This can be done only when we are sure that that particular request/s belongs to 2003 year data.
This can be better handled with selective deletion of data for year 2003 with some keyfields like 0CALMONTH etc..
This is infact only way when you have already compressed the data in Infocube.

Deletion of Data from Infoprovider after upgradation of source system

HI All,
In our project source system is upgraded from 4.7 to ecc 6.
I have kept the same logical name and changed the RFC connection so that it points to new source system.
Now do i need to delete all data before uploading data from source system or it will be fine as source system name is same.
If i need to delete data ,can u help me how to delete master data especially Hierarchy data. do we need to Delete Hierarchy and recreate it.
Please help em to resolve this issue

If you delete the data from your info providers, you have to reload everything from scratch.
If you want to delete the data from all
1. first delete the data in data targets such as cubes, DSO's or ODS then
2. master data
use these programs to delete from se38
-> rsdrd_delete_facts - for Cubes and DSO or ODS
-> rsdmd_del_background - for master data in background
-> rsdmd_del_master_data_texts - for master data right away
manage your master data info objetcs after the deletion, if you still find them....
go to se14 and delete individually each and every table such as attributes, texts, sids, hierarchy.
hope it helps you better.

Copying transaction data between planning version - Not delete existing dat

Hello all.
I made copy from one version, like 000.
The result is Version A1 and A2. I copied everything(Master Data and Transaction Data).
For each version, i ran a MRP. But in differents periods. Like October and November.
After MRP, i have a lot Planning Orders in A1 and A2. But in differents months.
My question is: I want to merge A1 and A2 in another version(Merge only Planning Orders). How i can do this?
Using /SAPAPO/MVM or /SAPAPO/VERCOP i can copy all data from source to target. But always delete previous data.

This isn't the answer you WANT to hear. But there's no way to my knowledge to achieve your requirement using standard version copy functionality in APO.
One way to preserve the data for alternate / merged versions that I've found useful is to use the /SAPAPO/REL_TO_OLTP transaction to send volume data to the ECC client. If you are loading both inactive versions to BW, then you should be able to release that data from BW to ECC inactive/"long-term" simulation versions where it can be aggregated. That is to say, you could send A1 and A2 separately and they will simply add to one another, not overwrites (delete and re-create).
This being said, requirements using this transaction are sent as planned ind. requirements in ECC. This may not be the desired outcome that you're looking for, so you might have to be careful which key figure you send to represent volumes.

Deleting Cube data takes up all DIA processes

Good day
We are in Bi 7.0 and I have a problem that I cannot find an answer for.
I have created a process chain where I delete cube data with event "Complete deletion of Data Target Contents" among loading data again etc.. When this process chain starts and get to the deletion part it will use up all the DIA processes in production (SM50) and bring it to its knees for more than an hour. If I do the same thing in DEV and QA, with the same amount of records (1 200 000), then it deletes within a few seconds. I deleted the contents manually in prod as well and the same thing is happening.
What can I do to rectify this or where can I check why this is happening?

Have you ever used the transaction RSBATCH? It controls how many processes are allocated to particular BW batch functions (e.g. DTP loads, Data deletes, etc.). In RSBATCH, go into the Mass Maintenance of All Settings for Parallel Processing. You should be able to find the delete that you're having an issue with by selecting the appropriate process type and the correct process variant. Compare the settings in Prod to your more manageable settings that exist in Dev and QA. This would most likely be the place I'd start looking.

Deletion of data objects from already not existed source system

Hello, Everybody,
In BI 7 i had QASCLNT500 source system and have been created datasource with transformation. Later QASCLNT500 was deleted or changed (i don't know very well) to QASCLNT300, but old datasource with transformation is still in new system. When i try to delete these objects i get a message - "Source system QASCLNT500 does not exist".
Could you give me a suggestion how can i delete that datasourse and transformation?

There is no way you can do that, you cannot copy only customizing onto a client without deleting the application data since there is no such profile in the client copy profiles to do so.
Also, to me it seems a bit strange to keep the application data (which depends on customizing for integrity) and update the customizing with something else!
However, still if you wish to do this, there is a crude way of doing it (theoratically). You could use the client copy by a transport request where in you club all your customizing transport requests into one single transport request using transport of copies and then use the client copy via transport request to copy the customizing.
Here are the steps:

2. Copy the newly created transport request into the target client via copy by a transport request functionality.

How can I delete the data?

Situation:
We have loaded the billing and posted DR transaction data for some days
to BW. But now we found that the data what we get is not correct, it is
because the program in R/3 which used to get the data is wrong. So now
we correct the program.
My question is,
How should we do for the previous loaded data in BW? Because this is
transaction data, it is delta load. Can we delete them and re-load
again? And the problem is, we have two country's data, and only one country's data is wrong. And only the data after 7/9/2007 is wrong, before 7/9/2007 the data is correct.

You can do this by two ways:
1. You can delete the whole target data and schedule a full repair request by creating a new package with update mode as FULL and check the FULL REPAIR check box (scheduler-->Repair Full Request). In that your whole new data will be loaded again, as you have already intialized your target.
2. Yoo also have a selective deletion option in your target. Go to manage>contents>selective-->delete selections. In that give whichever data you want to delete as per your requirement. After deleting you can again reload data by creating the repair full request as per the procedure in point 1, but with only required selections.
I think this may help you out.

In the PSA maintenance screen you can select option of load to data target.
While loading from InfoPackage you can select option PSA then data traget. And set error option as 'Valid Records updare, request avilable for reporting (Green)', this way you can update valid records into data target. Though better is to correct error records in PSA, and then load to Data Target. You can also correct Error records later, if you are only update valid records at first load.

Start Deletion of Data in Receiver System

I've executed the phase "Start Deletion of Data in Receiver System". The jobs in the target system are stopped, and If I try to restart from the central system I receive the message "Activity 'Start Deletion of Data in Receiver System' is already scheduled". I've verified that I've enough free batch process in the target system.
In target system the jobs "CNV_MBT_CNV_TDMS_09_START_JOBS" and "
CNV_TDMS_09_RESTART_JOBS" are cancelled, and I've a lot "TD09P*****" jobs in scheduled status.
How can I do to restart the process ?
