Data exchange with infrared

hi,
i want to buy a watch witch eychanges data with the a software per infrared. is that possible on a macbook pro.? i know that there is an infrared function for the the apple remote but can also exchange data from a portable for example? if yes , how?
thanks
philipp

i havent heard of anyone doing it and i have not heard it mentioned the IR on the MBP being capable of it. as far as i know it is a basic receiver for the remote and only that. in all honesty i havent even noticed any laptops the the IR transfer thing any more but i really havent looked for it
dont take my word as final but i doubt you can do that

    Help to understand.
There is a client which is connected to a server, data exchange with a server is realized through a method sendData(byte[] sendbytes, String code, int resplen)

    José,
The 6036E User Manuals gives the best definition of the STARTSCAN, TRIG, and CONVERT* signals as well as their relationship to eachother. See 4-20 Connecting Timing Signals of the User Manual for this information as well as timing diagrams.
    NI 6034E/6035E/6036E User Manual

You are correct that configuring your board for external timing is just as simple as connecting your external clock to a PFI line and using it as the STARTSCAN signal. The clock output of your GPS receiver will now be defining when scans are perform on your 6036E due to the synchronization between the two devices. The only synchronization issue you may encounter is
propogation delay. This will be a factor of the cable length connecting your GPS clock to the 6036E.

  • Is the data exchanged with the Apple Servers during a manual/itunes ios update any different between a PC and Mac?

When performing an ios update with an ipsw file, data is exchanged with an apple server to complete the update to the newer ios version.  Without an internet connection to the apple server the update does not complete.
Can and Apple software engineer please answer if there is anything done differently during this data exchange process between a Macintosh vs a PC?  If not here within the forum, can someone provide me a phone number, email or mail address to contact to get this information?  The answer is very important to the organization that I belong to.
From a privacy standpoint, I assume the device name and perhaps some other data is submitted to verify the identity of the device being updated but is any personal information submitted like email, contacts or any other data potentially typed by the user sent during the connection to the Apple update server?
My understanding is that user generated data, settings and apps are handled entirely with the backup file if ones is created?
    Dan

Apple does not participate in these forums, so you will not get a reply from an Apple engineer, nor will there be any way for you to contact anyone in the iTunes or iOS engineering team.
I do not, however, think that there is any difference between the Mac and Windows versions of iTunes in what information they transmit to Apple's services. In either version no personal information of any sort is sent when only doing an update to iOS, only to the best of my knowledge the device identification so that the correct update file can be delivered. The only time any of your contacts or any other such information would be sent to Apple's servers is if you are synchronizing via iCloud, and emails only if you use iCloud's email service.
My understanding is that user generated data, settings and apps are handled entirely with the backup file if ones is created?
Except for synchronizing with iCloud, that would be correct. This may be of interest:

  • Cannot open your default e-mail folders. You must connect to Microsoft Exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize your folders with your Outlook data file (.ost)

Fresh installation of Exchange Server 2013 on Windows Server 2012.
Our first test account cannot access their email via Outlook but can access fine through OWA. The following message appears - "Cannot open your default e-mail folders. You must connect to Microsoft Exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize
your folders with your Outlook data file (.ost)" is displayed.
If I turn off cached Exchange mode, setting the email account to not
cache does not resolve the issue and i get a new error message - "Cannot open your default e-mail folders. The file (path\profile name).ost is not an Outlook data file (.ost). Very odd since it creates its own .ost file when you run it for the first
    time.
I cleared the appdata local Outlook folder and I tested on a new laptop that has never connected to Outlook, same error message on any system.
Microsoft Exchange RPC Client Access service is running.
No warning, error or critical messages in the eventlog, it's like the healthiest server alive.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I haven't encountered this issue with previous versions of Exchange.

So it looks like a lot of people are having this issue and seeing how Exchange 2013 is still new (relatively to the world) there isn't much data around to answer this. I've spend ALOT of time trying to figure this out.
Here is the answer. :) - No I don't know all but I'm going to try to give you the most reasonable answer to this issue, in a most logical way.
First thing I did when I was troubleshooting this issue is that I ignored Martina Miskovic's suggestion for Step4 http://technet.microsoft.com/library/jj218640(EXCHG.150)because it didn't make sense to me because I was trying to connect
Outlook not outside the LAN but actually inside. However, Martina's suggestion does fix the issue if it's applied in the correct context.
This is where the plot thickens (it's stew). She failed to mention that things like SSL (which I configure practically useless - anyone who ever worked in a business environment where the owner pretty much trusts anyone in the company, otherwise they don't
work there - very good business practice in my eyes btw, can confirm that...) are some sort of fetish with Microsoft lately. Exchange 2013 was no exception.
In exchange 2003, exchange 2007 and exchange 2010 - you could install it and then go to outlook and set it up. And when outlook manual Microsoft Exchange profile would ask you for server name, you would give it and give the name of the person who you setting
up - as long as machine is on the domain, not much more is needed. IT JUST WORKS! :) What a concept, if the person already on premises of the business - GIVE HIM ACCESS. I guess that was too logical for Microsoft. Now if you're off premises you can use things
like OutlookAnywhere - which I might add had their place under that scenario.
In Exchange 2013, the world changed. Ofcourse Microsoft doesn't feel like telling it in a plain english to people - I'm sure there is an article somewhere but I didn't find it. Exchange 2013 does not support direct configuration of Outlook like all of it's
previous versions. Did you jaw drop? Mine did when I realized it. So now when you are asked for your server name in manual outlook set up and you give it Exchange2013.yourdomain.local - it says cannot connect to it. This happens because ALL - INTERNAL AND
EXTERNAL connection are now handled via OutlookAnywhere. You can't even disable that feature and have it function the reasonable way.
So now the question still remains - how do you configure outlook. Well under server properties there is this nice section called Outlook anywhere. You have a chance to configure it's External and Internal address. This is another thing that should be logical
but it didn't work that way for me. When I configured the external address different from the internal - it didn't work. So I strongly suggest you get it working with the same internal address first and then ponder how you want to make it work for the outside
    users.
Now that you have this set up you have to go to virtual directories and configure the external and internal address there - this is actually what the Step 4 that Martina was refering to has you do.
Both external and internal address are now the same and you think you can configure your outlook manually - think again. One of the most lovely features of Outlook Anywhere, and the reason why I had never used it in the past is that it requires a TRUSTED
    certificate.
See so it's not that exchange 2013 requires a trusted certificate - it's that exchange 2013 lacks the feature that was there since Windows 2000 and Exchange 5.5.
So it's time for you to install an Active Direction Certificate Authority. Refer to this wonderful article for exact steps - http://careexchange.in/how-to-install-certificate-authority-on-windows-server-2012/
Now even after you do that - it won't work because you have to add the base private key certificate, which you can download now from your internal certsrv site, to Default Domain Policy (AND yes some people claim NEVER mess with the Default Domain Policy,
always make an addition one... it's up to you - I don't see direct harm if you know what you want to accomplish) see this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc738131%28v=ws.10%29.aspx if you want to know exact steps.
This is the moment of ZEN! :) Do you feel the excitement? After all it is your first time. Before we get too excited lets first request and then install the certificate to actual Exchange via the gui and assign it to all the services you can (IIS, SMTP and
there is a 3rd - I forgot, but you get the idea).
Now go to your client machine where you have the outlook open, browse to your exchange server via https://exchang2013/ in IE and if you don't get any certificate errors - it's good. If you do run on hte client and the server: gpupdate /force This will refresh
the policy. Don't try to manually install the certificate from Exchange's website on the client. If you wanna do something manually to it to the base certificate from the private key but if you added it to the domain policy you shouldn't have to do it.
Basically the idea is to make sure you have CA and that CA allows you to browse to exchange and you get no cert error and you can look at the cert and see that's from a domain CA.
NOW, you can configure your outlook. EASY grasshoppa - not the manual way. WHY? Cause the automatic way will now work. :) Let it discover that exachange and populate it all - and tell you I'm happy! :)
Open Outlook - BOOM! It works... Was it as good for you as it was for me?
You may ask, why can't I just configure it by manual - you CAN. It's just a nightmare. Go ahead and open the settings of the account that got auto configed... How do you like that server name? It should read something like [email protected]
and if you go to advanced and then connection tab - you'll see Outlook Anywhere is checked as well. Look at the settings - there is the name of the server, FQDN I might add. It's there in 2 places and one has that Mtdd-something:Exchange2013.yourdomain.local.
So what is that GUID in the server name and where does it come from. It's the identity of the user's mailbox so for every user that setting will be different but you can figure it out via the console on the Exchange server itself - if you wish.
Also a note, if your SSL certs have any trouble - it will just act like outlook can't connect to the exchange server even though it just declines the connection cause the cert/cert authority is not trusted.
So in short Outlook Anywhere is EVERYWHERE! And it has barely any gui or config and you just supposed to magically know that kind of generic error messages mean what... Server names are now GUIDs of the [email protected] - THAT MAKES PERFECT
SENSE MICROSOFT! ...and you have to manage certs... and the only place where you gonna find the name of the server is inside the d*** Outlook Anywhere settings in the config tab, un it's own config button - CAN WE PUT THE CONFIG ANY FURTHER!
Frustrating beyond reason - that should be Exchange's new slogan...
Hope this will help people in the future and won't get delete because it's bad PR for Microsoft.
    PS
ALSO if you want to pick a fight with me about how SSL is more secure... I don't wanna hear it - go somewhere else...

  • How to configure a shell and tube heat exchanger with Lab VIew to get data

    HiI
In our undergraduate chemical engineering labboratory we want to configure our shell and tube heat exchanger  with a DAq and Lab VIEW to get information about the temperaure (of the cold fluid stream being heated), the pressure (of the steam on the shell side of the heat exchanger) and the flowrate (of the water being heated).
Can anyone suggest thermocouples, pressure transducers and flowmeters to fit between the heat exchanger and the DAq?
P.S. the heat exchanger is already fitted with thermometers, a pressure gauge and a rotameter but we don't know how to connect these hardware to the DAq
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It sounds like you have enough information to pick out appropriate sensors, you just need to do the research. I would start looking through the Omega catalog, or give them a call - they're usually helpful. I can't take the time to spec out parts for you - that would be a lot of time spent on someone else's project. Most pressure sensors put out either a 4-20mA or 0-5V signal, either of which you can read through an analog input on a DAQ; measuring a 4-20mA signal requires a resistor to convert to voltage. Most of the NI DAQ boards can read a thermocouple on an analog input, but make sure that your hardware does support reading thermocouples. For accurate readings, use a device that has built-in cold junction compensation - for example, the SCB-68 connector block - and for the most accurate readings, get a board specifically designed for temperature measurement.
For the flow measurement, a standard, simple solution is an orifice plate. You put a differential pressure transducer across it, look up the appropriate equations, and use them to calculate the flow rate given the density of the fluid (which you'll be able to calculate from the pressure and temperature, since steam tables are widely available). There are other differential pressure devices available as well - at a previous job we used a V-Cone from McCrometer. If you call them they'll spec one for you - but get an approximate cost first to make sure it's within your budget.

  • Meet a problem of data exchange for sale order from CRM to R3.

    Dear Friends:
I do the data exchange for sale oder from to R3 today , the problem's detail is as follows:
When i save a sale order in CRM (Version is 5.0) . it can automatically generate a bdoc which bdoc type is BUS_TRANS_MSG. but the bdoc status alway is "Sent to receivers (not all have confirmed)". and the original order in CRM can not be change .it quote that "Document is being distributed - changes are not possible",  so i check the order status analysis in detail .it presents two error messages ," Event 'BEFORE_CHANGE', attribute '     FINI': Error code for function module 'CRM_STATUS_BEFORE_COMPLETED_EC' , "Item is not yet completed in OLTP system".  so i check  the order in R/3 ,it has already been create and without any error messages.
Would like to tell me how to solve it . thanks your any idear..

    Hi Benjamin,
When performing uploads to R/3 from CRM there is a response from the OTLP system that is sent back to the CRM Middleware to confirm that the data records were received and processed correctly.
Here is a checklist you can run through to verfiy that the connections, systems and objects that are needed are all in place:
    <b>On R/3 system:</b>
    - Check R/3 outbound queue (transaction SMQ1) for any entries that are not reaching CRM.
    - Check that all RFC destinations on R/3 are defined correctly and are pointing to CRM
    - Check the CRMCONSUM table in R/3 to ensure CRM is registered as a consumer
    - Check the CRMRFCPAR table in R/3 to ensure that order objects are valid for exchange between R/3 and CRM
    - Check for any short dumps in R/3 (ST22/ST21)
    <b>On CRM:</b>
    - Are there entries stuck in the inbound queue (SMQ2) with R3AU* names?
    - What does the CRM Middleware Trace show (SMWT)?  Sometimes this has more detail than the specific BDoc overview (SMW01)
    - Check for short dums in CRM (ST22)
Let us know what else you uncover and we can work from there.

  • Can a IDOC be used for data exchange from R/3 to CRM

    Hi All,
First, can a IDOC be used for data exchange from R/3 to CRM
I need to update few fields of SAP CRM Sales order with fields from SAP R/3 Work Order.
To achive this can I use IDOC?
Or do I update the R/3 sales order from R/3 Work order(using some interface or workflow), so that the sales order data flows from R/3 SO to CRM SO.
    Please respond immediately.
    Regards,
    Gopinath

IDocs can be processed by the CRM system via XML/XIF adaptor. As this will be most probably a new interface that is not yet set up, it would be easier to change the orders in R/3 via an appropiate FM which should automatically generate a delta download BDoc.
Even if they are not downloaded automatically a request download (defined via R3AR2 / 3 / 4) should take care of this.
    Hope this helps,
    Kai

  • Cannot Start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook Window. The set fo folders cannot be opened. You must connect to Microsoft Exchange with the current profil

Cannot Start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook Window. The set fo folders cannot be opened. You must connect to Microsoft Exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize your folders with your Outlook data file (.ost)
OK. This is a new outlook setup on a laptop. The mail account is on a MS Exchange Server 2010. The user can log on to their laptop no problem with their AD login and password. To setup the outlook profile we have checked the name OK. When we click finish
and try to start outlook we get the above error message. It is driving me pots as I have tried also of things. I have tried to connect without catching the files. The error message then says that the Exchange Server is down, yet we checked the name OK and
I can log on to the MS Exchange server and see the setup.
What else is it that I need to look at as I have tried everything. I will add that they one service I see not running is the Exchange RPC service. If I try to start it, it fails saying Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services
    or programs.
    What can I do?

The major cause of this problem is a corrupted Navigation Pane settings file – profilename.xml, where “profilename” is the name of your Outlook profile. A good sign that the
file is corrupted is when the size of the file is shown 0 KB. No one knows the precise reason why this takes place, but all versions of Outlook from 2003 to 2013 may get affected.
Other causes may be when you run Outlook in the compatibility mode, or if you are using a profile generated in an older Outlook version, or if the Outlook data file (.pst or .ost)
was removed or damaged as the result of faulty uninstallation or reinstallation of MS Outlook.
Follow the steps given below to resolve this problem
    1. Recover Navigation Pane configuration file
    2. Repair your Outlook PST file using Inbox Repair tool
    3. Create a new Outlook profil and import data from the old PST file
    4. Turn off Compatibility Mode
    5. Start Outlook in Safe Mode

    what is wrong?

    Hello again,
I have tried all different combinations with the IP addresses and host names, but to no avail. Then I changed the Trading Partner Identification Type from MLLP Id to Sending Application (one of the customer requirements is to be able to identify the Trading Partner by the combination of Sending App/Sending Facility, since they are running multiple HL7 applications on one host). However, I still see the same error in the log file - for some reason, B2B is still trying to identify the Trading Partner by the MLLP Id. Redeploying the configuration didn't help, the requested identification type is ignored.
Please help! If needed, I can send the B2B log file, but maybe I'm missing something obvious.
BTW, the customer has installed the patch for bug 6439217 on October 10th. The B2B version is 10.1.2.2.0.
    Thanks in advance!

  • Synchronous data exchange over JCaps without TCP/IP or WebService...

    Hi all,
the subject may sound like a little crazy request, but that is what we actually need.
Just to explain: we have a SAP R/3 system running (v. 4.72) which is not able to call Web Services and is also not able to open a TCP/IP-connection to a foreign host to exchange data.
But what we need is a synchronous data exchange as, after pressing a button in SAP, we should query some database tables of another sub-system with JCaps and send back the received information to SAP.
Do you have any ideas out there how this synchronous request from SAP to JCaps can be fullfilled with JCaps (our version is 5.1.3)?!
We thought about using a HTTP server on the JCaps side, where SAP just sends a HTTP-request on the specified address and then we could use the data received from this call, to get data from the sub-system and then send it back to SAP over an RFC or something similar - that is the easier part (sending data back to SAP). The harder part, in my opinion, is to create a possibility for SAP to call JCaps immediately - so not asynchron, which we already implemented over a file export...
So, is it possible to use HTTP-server from JCaps for our needs?! Or is there another, easier possibility?!
    Any help highly appreciated...
    Regards
    Bernhard Böhm

    Hi Chris,
thanks for the input - we also have a similar thing running, also using our BW-Server (SAP ERP 6.0) as the "web service engine"....
But now, we want a solution without another server (like the BW in the upper case) involved!
So, we thought about using HTTP-server on the JCaps-side which should be invoked by a simple HTTP-request from SAP (also possible in 4.72).
Now I tried to setup a simple HTTP-Server project in JCaps 5.1.3 and it is making me crazy right now...
I just do not get it to work - all I would do is a simple JCD that just print a line in the log-file when started. The JCD has just a "processRequest"-method from HTTPS-Server-eWay. In the connectivity map I did set up the connection to the HTTP-Server with the servlet-url-name - property:
http://localhost:18001/dpListenHTTP_servlet_HttpServerServlet (like described in the userGuide).
But when trying to build the project I get this error:

  • How to track data exchange

    Hi All,
I am working on a load generator application where i record client interactions(request and response objects) in XML serialized form.
Now i want to replay those recorded stuff. I am able to replay simple
    calls(requests) using reflection APIs.
But the problem comes when i have to use data returned by one call in a later stage in another call. So there should be some mechanism to track data
exchange while recording and use this tracking mechanism while replaying?
I think might be i need some HashMap type structure but not sure !:)

    Thanks Roy.
JMeter deals with Web Applications but not ejb application clients
I have recorded ejb calls in XML serialized form. When i was going to replay those recorded scenarios, i found a very
big problem. The problem is divided into 3 cases:
    /*Case1:*/
    Var x = func1.a ();
    …. // Some intermediate statements
    func2.b (a, b, x);
    /*Case2:*/
    func2.b(a, func1.a(), b);
    /*Case3:*/
    Var x = func1.a();
    …. // Some intermediate statements
    Variable x is updated
func2.b(a, b, x);During replay of those recorded calls
You can see the values returned by func1 call(it was already recorded) have
been used in func2(this call is already been recorded) in 3 different ways.
I have to find these correlations during runtime (replaying of those recorded calls) and have to pass these dynamic values returned by func1 to func2 instead of those values which are in recorded script.

  • Notifications of failed or partially failed load processes in the Data Exchange

    Hello,
I've recently completed quite a few data integrations (to maintain coexistence) between external systems at my company and Oracle Fusion. The majority include data-out (Extracts and BI Reports), and data-in (via FBL from UCM).
I'm wondering what the standard is for notifications on failed FBL loads. After an FBL succeeds with the RIDC, the most information I know is the process ID of the process loading my data into Fusion. In order to check to see if it succeeded or not, I have to go into the Data Exchange and check the process manually in the "Load Batch Data" GUI.
Is there a way to get emailed notifications if a process finishes with any failures? The only automated way I know of to check on statuses is to schedule the seeded Batch Load Summary HCM extract and have something on our end check for anything that has failed. But this is pretty un-ideal when all I want is an immediate notification of failed or trouble FBL loads.
What's the easiest/best/quickest way to be automatically notified when an FBL load is having issues?
    Thanks,
    Tor

I am not an expert on FBL, but I think there is a ESS process involved, could you configure alerts to monitor the state and have incidents be sent to the interest parties, see Monitoring Oracle Enterprise Scheduler

  • BI & Oracle XI data exchanges using WEBServices (into both sides)

    Hello,
Would you be so kind and give me suggestions.
    We have:
    <b>BI 7 server – Oracle Exchange Infrastructure – Oracle DB server</b>
Our client wants to implement this data exchange solution:
<u>Scenario A: i have load data to BI from Oracle DB</u>
My steps are: from <i>BI</i> i have to call WEBService from <i>Oracle Exchange Infrastructure</i> when <i>Oracle Exchange Infrastructure</i> calls WEBService from <i>Oracle DB</i> and <i>Oracle DB</i> returns data set to <i>BI</i> via <i>Oracle Exchange Infrastructure.</i>
How to schedule job for calling  WEBServices from <i>Oracle Exchange Infrastructure</i>? What have i configure in <i>BI</i>?
<u>Scenario B: Application based on Oracle DB wants to get data from BI</u>
    Steps are: <i>Oracle DB</i> calls WEBService from <i>Oracle Exchange Infrastructure</i> when <i>Oracle Exchange Infrastructure</i> calls WEBService from <i>BI</i> and <i>BI</i> sends data to <i>Oracle DB</i> via <i>Oracle Exchange Infrastructure</i>.
<i>BI</i> offers <i>Open Hub Service</i> for data distribution from <i>BI</i>, but I didn’t find description how to  distribute data using WEBServices.
Is is possible to implement Scenario A and Scenario B in BI with standard tools.
Could you give me detailed answers(step-by-step what I have to do)?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Arunas Stonys

    Arunas,
    Quite an interesting landscape....
Also what do you mean by standard tools ?
    Option A :
You can use the XML datasource for the same and once the XML data source is called , the data enters the Delta Queue in the BI server and from there you can use the normal infopackage / real time daemon to load data into your cubes / DSO. The XML datasource works on SOAP and this has to be supported by the Oracle XI.
    Option B:
Slightly more trickier since you are hitting the BI server directly....
I am not sure if an infospoke can be a web service but some of the ways this could be done is :
    a. Have an Func Module which acts as a web service and have that FM return the data
    b. Have SAP XI inbetween to do the same
Also on the landscape- depending on the nature of data loads / data requests - if BI-Oracle is more - you can look at having SAP XI there instead....
    Arun
    Hope it helps....
P.S I would also suggest that you post the same in the Enterprise SOA forums  / enterprise web services and people like Karthik Iyengar , Durairaj etc can respond to the same in a much better way that what I am able to give you right now...
