Data in application based on User logged in

Hi,
We have a requirment in our project in which we need to prefill few fields of all pages of application based on the user logged in. The required information to be populated in application is available in database table.
When the page is gettign loaded for the first time the databse has to queried and the forms have to be prefilled. One more requiremtn we have is to restrict the data in ADF Read only tables to that specific user.

Hi,
have a look at SRDemo, which uses a managed bean n session scope for the user specific information. Same could be used to set tables to read only (e.g. checking if user has a specific role granted). So the usecase you mention seems to be easy to achive with JSF on-board functionality

Hello,
Using guided navigation properties for section, we can achieve your first requirement.
How many prompts to be shown?
depends on that number, you have to create those many reports in answers like,
take one column to criteria and change functionaityt to case when 1=0 then Markets. Region else user() end
apply filter on this equals to UserA (for userA), say ReportA
for UserB filter has to change to UserB, say ReportB...etc
Now, add all the prompts to dashboard, but each section (dashboard object) for each prompt.
Go to section properties of each and select guided navigation property. The section which is holding the PromptA (should be shown to userA) then browse the reportA for guided navigation and click ok
LIke this do for all prompts.

Hide or show column from a report region based on user logged in

Hi,
I have this criteria, where I need to display a column on a report page but depends on the users logged in ( APP_User).
On the field(column page) there is the Conditional Display option
Conditional Display
Condition Type: I choose the option where "item value in Expression 1 = expression 1
*Expression 1*
App_USER
*Expression 2*
I need to add 4 user names here that they allowed to view that column
My question is how to list the names in expression 2 field, it worked when I added one name, but when I listed 4 names separated by comma, it didn't work.

If you use "Text in Expression 1 is contained in the Value of Expression 2" then you can provide a comma-separated list. The only thing to watch out for is if you have a user "Bob" and a user "Bob Smith" then you will get a match on "Bob Smith" for the user "Bob"

Copy apps using HFM Copy application utility when users logged in.

I am using HFM copy application utility to migrate apps across environments. Can we do the same when users are logged in and active? I know that this utility just copies tables from source to destination, but I m not sure if the copy will be successful if some of the tables are being edited.

Hi,
Dont run the HFm Copy appplication utility when apps were in use.Let say you have app1,2,3,4 and you want to move app 1, make sure app 1 is not in use.
if some body is accessing app2 or 3 or 4 you dont want to worry about that while moving app 1.

The application is created without configuring the security, later at the end we are doing the security configuration.
I used formbased authentication , there are 3 roles for the users, based on the users after login action i need to show the screen.(no common screen, each screen is different for each users,)
I used executeWithParams for executing some VO's before the page loads, if i use the two or more outcome actions in login action, its not rendering the corresponding page and it remains in the same page.
in between i have to check for user in roles , so based on that i have to set the outcome. find my above login action code.
This is my use case, tell me suggestions and any idea please.

Dynamic column based on user logged in

Hi,
I'm implementing Sales analytics and I have a requirement for a custom report.
The custom report has two columns, Employee and Opportunity revenue.
To start with, the employee column must display the logged in user. On drill down, it must show all the employees whose positions are child positions to the logged in user's position, and so on.
Any pointers on how to accomplish this using the w_position_d and w_position_dh tables.?

You can use :USER variable for showing only the user who logged in.....(by keeping a filter in the report) and for the drill ...if there is no hierarchy for postion in the rpd u need to create one so that it drills as required...

How to show pages based on user logged in adf security ?

I have three Roles MANAGERS, ADMIN, ANALYST with users in each role.
And i used form based authentication. There are seperate screens for each user, i want to show according to the user entered with Roles.
How to Configure these roles in Resource Grants and what should be done in login action..
For me the page now going forward, it remains in the login page itself
How to do that ?

Picking employee information based on user

Hi,
I have query which returns businessgroup, first name, last name, middle name, address. I registered this query(procedure) as concurrent program, running successfully.
My requirement is, if USA country user runs this program, he should see only USA data, like this based on user the specific data should be displayed.
Could some body help me how to achieve this.

VAT REPORT BASED ON CURRENT LOGGED IN USER

I am Working for a client and it they are having 9 branches and for each branch there will be divided by different Series and different Tax Codes and they want a TAX Report based on the User Logged in.Each User Will be Assigned a branch and in the tax code an UDF(Location) has been created and for each tax code location has been entered there.
So when User 1 of Branch 1 is running the report then the report should show only the record of that particular Branch 1 and
     When User 2 of Branch 2 is running the Report then it should show only branch 2 records .
I Tired using an FMS to record the Current User Logged in but i am unable to include this in the below query.

In the Below query , the Report needs to be filtered automatically based on the Current user Logged in(User who is running the report).
There will be different Branches and Each Branch has One O Two Licenses and whenever the User1 Of Branch 1 runs the report then the report should display only the record related to that particular branch within the given date range.
So ,to differentiate the Tax codes for each Branches we have created an UDF(Location) in tax codes and enter the branch name in the UDF and also each branch will have 3 different document series and each series.
Instead of Giving the Location as a Parameter to choose we need to filter the report by the User logged in .

Application should start automatically as soon the user logs into windows.

I have a requirement.
I am developed a time sheet application using web dynpro. This application is configured on the portal & is working fine. Now, I want to make some changes, may be at Portal Content side or Application side, but want this -
As soon as the User loges into the Windows with user id & password, this timesheet application residing on the portal should start automatically and should record the time. Similarly, if the user shuts-down, the application should again record the time. Thus giving the actual time the user worked.

Below are the comments on your queries.
1. It would be better if the application starts silently. But, in case, if we choose other way i.e the browser opens automatically and displays the application (expecting the button needs to be clicked by the user) that will also do.
2. In case of system shut-down, I am still to come up with some materialized concept. But, here are few ideas...
a). The application should check if the time entry is available for the current date. If so, should display the text for LogOut only. This will make user understand not to hit it.
b). It should keep on accepting all the sessions (logging & logout) n number of times for the current date.
I would prefer (b) as a better option.
If you have some more conceptual idea, please suggest.

Presently we are using standard portal theme.How can I change the image in the masterhead based on the user logged in.How can i change that and i want to assign that masteredhead to users.

Simple of achiving this kind of scnario is create separate themes for different users and assign the themes to the users in master rule collection through Desktop Page.Here in this case you will be creating one framework page and multiple Desktops and themes.All the desktops will be having the same framework page and different themes based on the user type or group type.
Otherway of achiving this is create an pdk application where it will have multiple jsp components in it and based on the each component create one PAR iview.Let us take if four groups of users then you will be creating four different jsps in pdk application which will inturn contains different masterhead images and related logos.After creating the iview place the iview in the correcsponding framework page below the masterhead iview.Here multiple framework pages and Desktops and you can go with single theme.
In the first scenario the masteread , we are managing through the theme and in second the masterhead we are managing throgh application.
Either of the scenarios can be used to create differet masterheads for different users.

How to filter VO data based on user access

Can anyone help me with an approach for the below case.
Once a user logs in, we want to show them a list of various Company(s) and Role(s) that they have access to(this comes from a custom Table).Based on the selection they make here, we would like to filter the data(Here company is very much like ORG_ID in Oracle EBS).So how do I apply this criteria across all VOs once the selection is made so that user sees a specific company data only.Also the Role would be used to enable and disable few fields(regions) on the forms.How do we approach getting this done too.Again as in Oracle EBS,this is more like, SPEL in OAF.

I have made some progress and but I am stuck with an issue now.Please let me know what am I missing here.
Approach:
1. Once a user logs in, I display the various operating companies that he has access to as a Table region.As he selects a row in this table, I set a pageFlowscope variable.I am able to display the value also as he selects various companies from the table region displayed.
2. Now I created a bounded Task flow(BTF) which has a default method activity(ExecuteWithparams) which would take a company as a paramter(bind var) and I have set this to use the pageFlowscope variable referred above.And after this method it goes to a view which displays data for that company data.
3. Now I dragged and dropped this BTF as a region onto my page.
Problem: When I run the actual page it says "No data to display" in the BTF region. But there is data in the database for that company.How can I fix this issue or what is it that I am doing wrong.Please help.

Limit report data to user logged in (AD Authentication)

How can I limit the number of rows that display on a report depending on the user logged in? I want the user to see only their own data, not the whole report, based on the the user id. We use active directory authentication to Business Objects Enterprise.

How to display filtered data based on user login

We have a SSRS report (.rdlc) which gives the report about Online count of machines. Report is incoperayed in Asp.net.
We have many filters in This report. Now we have to retrict the report based on user login to the application .
For ex: report has a drop down for Regional Admin. Now if one person login to the application he has to view only his region online count.
How can we do this in SSRS?. We have our application hosted in Microsoft Azure . Please suggest

In Reporting Services, if we want to filter data based on user login, then there must be some relationship between the UserID and the Region in the dataset. For example, there is a field named UserID in the dataset, and each ID map some region and the corresponding
“Online count of machines”. In this scenario, just as Visakh suggested, we can use built-in field User!UserID to obtain UserID of the current user, then directly add a filter to the dataset as below:
Expression: [UserID]
Operator: =
Value: [&UserID]
