Data processsing

hi,
I am doing a project in which i am building a website which will two entrances one for Professors and one for Students. The students will enter through thier own login The students will be entering thier personal info and thier feedback about the course in two seperate form and the professors will select thier appropriate subject by enetering a password and id and will be looking at data entered by the Students. I am using MVC model. I am Using JSP for Viewing and JAVA classes for connecting and Tomact apache as server. My DB is Mysql. I want to know if there is any way i can process data in Java or JSP. for example 40 students have rated the Class of the professor. 5 as good, 15 very good and 20 as bad. Is there any way i can present this data as a bar graph In Java or JSP. The number of students giving thier ratings will be changing. How can i constantly process data from DB

Two separate questions.
You can process data in Java. More accurately, you will process the data in the C component of your MVC designed application. This can be either the connection class, or within the JSP page. Which option is best, depends on the kind of processing you want to do.
For example, SQL offers AVG as a keyword such that you can find the average value in a column. "SELECT AVG( class_rating ) FROM myTable WHERE professor = 'ChrisFlasher' " will ask MySQL to compute the average score for you. Alternatively, you can get all the scores and loop through the result set, adding up each score and dividing by the total number of rows. If you decide to do this, you can do it right after you get the result set, or just before you need to display the data.
It does matter performance wise (the SQL way is fastest) but for your purposes, you shouldn't care.
Secondly...
You will have to do some clever work with ASCII or with tables. For example, start with 0. Print out a line of blank spaces with the occasional X to represent a good class. Then go down to 1. Repeat. 2. Repeat. See the following chart as an example...
0 |
5 |  X         X        X
10 |  X   X   X        X   X
15 |  X   X   X    X  X   X   X        X
20 |  X   X   X    X  X   X   X   X   X
---+-------------------------------------
        A   B   C   D   E   F   G   H   I...Well, you get the idea.
I strongly suggest that at this point, forget about making Excel and Powerpoint quality graphics. It's rather difficult, timeconsuming and not worth tackling until you figure out how to do this stuff.

  • Data in ods

    Hai Experts,
    Can any body tell me data is present in active data table, new data table, change log table and as wel as with this there is a content button it is asking for the table name what is that button consists of can any body help me out
    Regards,
    Vikram

    Hi Vikram,
    If we right click ODS --> go to Manage --> contents Tab
    You will find three Tables
    1. New Table : when you load Data initially it gets into New Table and if you click on that you can see the Content
    2. Active and Change Log : when you Activate data in ODS the Data moves from new to active and change log Tables and used for futher processsing to other Data Targets like Cube or ODs again.
    Change Log Table records all the changes happend to the data.

  • No_data_found raised when data exists

    Hi
    I have a function which is returning no data found in forms 10g (Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.3.0 (Production))
    FUNCTION get_orderno RETURN VARCHAR2 IS
    cursor x_cur (c_picklist in varchar) is
    select distinct order_no
    from x where picklist_no in (c_picklist);
    c_plist varchar2(100) := '80H059071','80H059083' ; <--for argument sakes this is what c_plist should be and is returning after some processsing
    c_rlist varchar2(100);
    begin
    open x_cur(c_plist);
    fetch x_cur into c_rlist;
    close x_cur;
    message(c_rlist); pause;
    return c_rlist;
    end;
    when i call this function, c_rlist is NULL
    and the value used to call this function is also null;
    *** in sql*plus
    SQL> SELECT distinct order_no
    2 FROM x
    3 WHERE pick_list_no in (&list);
    Enter value for list: '80H059071','80H059083'
    old 3: WHERE pick_list_no in (&list)
    new 3: WHERE pick_list_no in ('80H059071','80H059083')
    ORDER_NO
    R7115829
    1) I am connected to same database
    2) if i hard code those values in '80H059071','80H059083' in my cursor it returns correct order no
    Any suggestions please
    Cheers

    hi, thanks for replying. I just tested in ToAD
    declare
    c_picklist varchar2(100);
    l_picklist varchar2(100);
    begin
    dbms_output.put_line('here');
    c_picklist := ''''||('80H059071'',''80H059083')||'''';
    dbms_output.put_line('val of input picklist is '||c_picklist);
    SELECT distinct order_no
    into l_picklist
    FROM x
    WHERE pick_list_no in (c_picklist);
    dbms_output.put_line('val of output picklist is '||l_picklist);
    exception when no_data_found then
    dbms_output.put_line('val of picklist input is '||c_picklist);
    dbms_output.put_line('val of picklist output is '||l_picklist);
    end;
    **output***
    here
    val of input picklist is '80H059071','80H059083'
    val of picklist input is '80H059071','80H059083'
    val of picklist output is
    Ok so you are not surprised that I received no values, why is that? is it a feature of Forms? or is there something else I need to do??
    Thanks

  • How do i move the data from Apple ID to iCloud

    Hi,
    i know that you can't merge Apple ID's and iCloud ID's but what I would like to do is move the data from one to another and by data I mean my contacts and calendars without loosing them.
    What I did so far was to signout from my iCloud ID into my mac to log in into the Apple ID so all could be sync to the Apple ID but it didn't as soon as I logged out the data where lost ! (Calendar, Contacts...)
    What processs can I use to save those data so i can move to Apple ID only ? any idea or suggestions ?
    Thanks

    Before you can move data from one account to another, you need to log into both accounts at the same time. Log into one of the accounts as a secondary account in system preferences > mail, contacts and calendars. Contacts can be moved by dragging from one account to another, calendars will need to be exported and re-imported.

  • Set a PO delivery date to deliver one day ahead of demand without GR Proc.

    Any thoughts to enable the system to generate a planned PO delivery date say a day before the actual demand date without "locking" the material up as is the case with the GR processing setting.  With the GR processsing value to 1 day MRP will in fact have the material delivered a day ahead of time, but MRP will show the material is not available until the next day which causes some confusion when the planners need to move production up a day.  We'd like the GR date to be one day before demand but MRP show the material is available on the delivery date.

    Hi There
    Del date in SAP is when the goods will arrive at your premises,, and GR date date of GR ( GR pocessing time- 1 day, Del Date+1 day),, means that when the material will be available actullay for the production,, it is a STD,,
    You can manipulate the  RLT (Replenishment lead time= Purchasing processing timePlanned del timeGR processing time) as you wish to get,,
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Thnaks for your reply, This is my requirement.
    Here my problem is i am trying to upload the data from flatfile which contain materil number, denominator, Actual UOM, Nominator field values.
    Which is the data i need to upload into MM02 and MM01, if material number is new then it has to create the material, if material is already existing it has to update the UOM values.
    here i am getting data into my internal table INP_DATA, from that i am trying to upload the data to database by using job name MRP_MATERIAL_MASTER_DATA_UPLOAD with direct input program RMDATIND.
    when i execute my program i am getting success message all the records writtin from flatfile to application server. and job started message.
    then if i go into sm37 screen there i execute the job it is also giving active message. if i refresh it it is showing job completed message.
    then i look at job log status. there i found that for existing material it is expecting material type, for new material it is giving some gravity error.
    So could u help me in this it will be gr8.
    Thanks & Regards,
    RamNV

  • Idoc Segment data

    HI All,
              I need to pass a constant value for the fields in segments between 2 systems,where can i do that,there a transaction code wher we can do,plz let me know,all useful answers are rewarded

    Hi
    Data Creation in Idoc
    IDocs are text encoded documents with a rigid structure that are used to exchange data between R/3 and a foreign system. Instead of calling a program in the destination system directly, the data is first packed into an IDoc and then sent to the receiving system, where it is analyzed and properly processed. Therefore an IDoc data exchange is always an
    asynchronous process. The significant difference between simple RFC-calls and IDoc data exchange is the fact, that every action performed on IDocs are protocolled by R/3 and IDocs can be reprocessed if an error occurred in one of the message steps.
    While IDocs have to be understood as a data exchange protocol, EDI and ALE are typical use cases for IDocs. R/3 uses IDocs for both EDI and ALE to deliver data to the receiving system. ALE is basically the scheduling mechanism that defines when and between which partners and what kind of data will be exchanged on a regular or event triggered basis. Such a set-up is called an ALE-scenario.
    IDoc is a intermediate document to exchange data between two SAP Systems.
    *IDocs are structured ASCII files (or a virtual equivalent).
    *Electronic Interchange Document
    *They are the file format used by SAP R/3 to exchange data with foreign systems.
    *Data Is transmitted in ASCII format, i.e. human readable form
    *IDocs exchange messages
    *IDocs are used like classical interface files
    IDOC types are templates for specific message types depending on what is the business document, you want to exchange.
    WE30 - you can create a IDOC type.
    An IDOC with data, will have to be triggered by the application that is trying to send out the data.
    FOr testing you can use WE19.
    How to create idoc?
    *WE30 - you can create a IDOC type

    To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
    Create Segment ( WE31)
    Create Idoc Type ( WE30 )
    Create Message Type ( WE81 )
    Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82 )
    Creating a Segment
    Go to transaction code WE31
    Enter the name for your segment type and click on the Create icon
    Type the short text
    Enter the variable names and data elements
    Save it and go back
    Go to Edit -> Set Release
    Follow steps to create more number of segments
    Create IDOC Type
    Go to transaction code WE30
    Enter the Object Name, select Basic type and click Create icon
    Select the create new option and enter a description for your basic IDOC type and press enter
    Select the IDOC Name and click Create icon
    The system prompts us to enter a segment type and its attributes
    Choose the appropriate values and press Enter
    The system transfers the name of the segment type to the IDOC editor.
    Follow these steps to add more number of segments to Parent or as Parent-child relation
    Save it and go back
    Go to Edit -> Set release
    Create Message Type
    Go to transaction code WE81
    Change the details from Display mode to Change mode
    After selection, the system will give this message “The table is cross-client (see Help for further info)”. Press Enter
    Click New Entries to create new Message Type
    Fill details
    Save it and go back
    Assign Message Type to IDoc Type
    Go to transaction code WE82
    Change the details from Display mode to Change mode
    After selection, the system will give this message “The table is cross-client (see Help for further info)”. Press Enter.
    Click New Entries to create new Message Type.
    Fill details
    Save it and go back
    Check these out..

    An IDoc is simply a data container that is used to exchange information between any two processes that can understand the syntax and semantics of the data...
    1.IDOCs are stored in the database. In the SAP system, IDOCs are stored in database tables.
    2.IDOCs are independent of the sending and receiving systems.
    3.IDOCs are independent of the direction of data exchange.
    The two available process for IDOCs are
    Outbound Process
    Inbound Process
    AND There are basically two types of IDOCs.
    Basic IDOCs
    Basic IDOC type defines the structure and format of the business document that is to be exchanged between two systems.
    Extended IDOCs
    Extending the functionality by adding more segments to existing Basic IDOCs.
    To Create Idoc we need to follow these steps:
    Create Segment ( WE31)
    Create Idoc Type ( WE30)
    Create Message Type ( WE81)
    Assign Idoc Type to Message Type ( WE82)

  • Use 1 stylesheet to translate 2 xml documents(raw data)into one  result xml

    I have one java application which can generate two xml documents (raw data), now i want to have one result xml which contains contents of these two xml documents(raw data) by using one stylesheet. is it possible?
    how to match template in the stylesheet?
    how to let the stylesheet know that it should read second raw xml?

    Yes it is possible.
    You didn't say whether you want to do this by invoking the transformation from a Java program, or with a stand-alone transformer, and which one.
    I've done an application where I had a main XML file and a secondary XML file. I invoked the transformation from Java, and passed a parameter to the stylesteet. It winds up looking like a variable ($parm for example).
    Here is the declaration of the param in the stylesheet.
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
                    xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
    <xsl:param name="list" />Next, I use the document function to read the file and produce a result tree (like a DOM object, in a sense).
    <xsl:variable name="phonemes"
                  select="document($list)" />Then, you can use code like the following to look for content in the secondary file:
    <xsl:if test="$phonemes/phonemes/allsounds[phoneme=$sound]" >This was complex, but it works.
    Another approach would be to have a small XML file with the names of the
    two XML files you want to process. You could do a for-each to process each of the tags in this little file, use the document function to read in the file and copy th eoutput to where you need it.
    So, in that case, you would be processsing 3 files rather than 2. If you are invoking from Java, the third file could be coded in a String rather than having to physically write it out.
    You've got a few ideas to consider.

  • LSMW data migration porcess from the beginning

    Hi gurus,
    I do understand that there are 14 steps to be completed during migration, but can anyone give me a basic idea as what needs to be done prior to the above steps when starting a data migration project, as i have been only involved in the LSMW(14 steps) process before.
    Thanks in advance, points will be awarded for all answers.
    Ganga

    Hello
    As an intro:
    Classical data migrations are typically limited to master data and
    tend to cause multiple negative impacts on workflow and oper-
    ating business units.
    To minimize costs, risks, and effort during a data migration and ensure a smooth changeover for operational business processs items, and better reporting
    capabilities SAP recently come with a Data Migration Solution called SAP Accelerated Data Migration tool.
    This advanced tool, coupled with support from the SAP Services organization and SAP partners, lets you easily migrate and integrate application data from any legacy system into SAP applications – and reduce migration costs significantly.
    Data migration is done in 4th phase i.e. the final preparation stage of ASAP methodology.
    As far as LSMW is concerned, BDC and LSMW both are use for loading data into SAP system. The difference is ,LSMW is loading tool by SAP where you can use various methods to upload, massage data or cleansed your data while loading into SAP from legacy system. The method can be BDC, BAPI, Idocs or SAP ABAP codes. Usually in BDC the user has to write an ABAP program or use other utility to load legacy data.
    LSMW has been developed mainly for the Functional people who has no knowledge of the technical aspects of report or BDC in ABAP because its very user friendly and handy to use. So, simply they can upload the master records using LSMW.

  • Problem date format

    Hi Guru's
    I have a problem with a field coming from a file upload in my internal table wich should be insert in a system table in date format.
    When i do my test to check if the field has a correct date format I always receive the error: "Valid_to_date is invalid".
    the field in my csv file has this format 02.03.2009.
    I've written this code :
    TYPES: BEGIN OF t_segm2,
       kokrs    TYPE kokrs,
        prctr   TYPE prctr,
        datbi   TYPE datbi,
        datab   TYPE datab,
    END OF t_segm2.
    DATA:
              wa_cepc_segm TYPE t_segm2,
               i_cepc_segm TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF t_segm2,
              it_datatab TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF string,
              wa_datatab TYPE string,
    LOOP AT it_datatab INTO wa_datatab.
        SPLIT wa_datatab at ';' into
                              wa_cepc_segm-kokrs
                              wa_cepc_segm-prctr
                              wa_cepc_segm-datbi
                              wa_cepc_segm-datab.
        CALL FUNCTION 'DATE_CHECK_PLAUSIBILITY'
          EXPORTING
            date                      = wa_cepc_segm-datbi
          EXCEPTIONS
            plausibility_check_failed = 1
            OTHERS                    = 2.
        IF sy-subrc <> 0.
          WRITE:/ 'Valid To Date invalid'.
        ENDIF.
        append wa_cepc_segm to i_cepc_segm.
        CLEAR wa_cepc_segm.
      endloop.
    Anyone can help me please?
    Regards,
    Mohamed.

    Everything seems fine with the code. I tried it myself and I got strange behaviour.
    I used this code:
    data: datbi TYPE datbi.
    fdate1 = '02.03.2009'.
    concatenate fdate1+6(4) fdate1+3(2) fdate1(2) into datbi.
    CALL FUNCTION 'DATE_CHECK_PLAUSIBILITY'
          EXPORTING
            date                      = datbi
          EXCEPTIONS
            plausibility_check_failed = 1
            OTHERS                    = 2.
        if sy-subrc ne 0.
          write 'Wrong date'.
    "    else.
    "      write 'Date ok'.
        endif.
    When I leave ELSE block commented, the FM returns sy-subrc = 0 and doesn't display 'Wrong date' message. So this works as we want. But when I debug it, I can clearly see that processing goes inside IF block and tries to write the message out (even thought the condition is not fullfilled). But anyhow the message doens't appear on the screen. Strange.
    Now when I uncomment the ELSE block, the processing seems to work fine. Don't know why it is happening but if we leave entire IF,ELSE it works fine. So try this solution. Everything else works fine.
    Regards
    Marcin
    Right now I tried to see if this IF block really changes some data object using:
    data var type i.
    call fm....
    if sy-subrc ne 0.
       var = 1.
    endif.
    write var.
    And I could see that, thought processing is passed inside the block it doesn't change VAR contents. So it stays 0. But just right after it I run the program again to show it to my collegue and the processsing didn't go inside anymore. It must be something with debugger then. My collegue says once he spent some time investigating the same problem and finally he gave up. What the debugger was showing was different from what it was in fact calculating. Fortunatelly the calculation here doesn't change, just debugger is trying to cheat us showing what he is really NOT doing;)

  • Trying to insert CLOB data into Remote Table..

    Hi everyone,
    I think this question had already posted.But i am not able to figure out this problem..
    what i am trying to do is
    I have a table in the remote database with a CLOB column like this
    REMOTE_TABLE
    ============
    REMOTE_TABLE_ID (Populated with sequence)
    REMOTE_CLOB CLOB
    In my Local database i have to write a Procedure to gather some information on a particular record (My Requirement) and save that CLOB in the REMOTE_TABLE.
    I built that procedure like this
    Declare
    var_clob CLOB; /* I need to processs several records and keep all data in a clob
    begin
    /***** Processed several records in a local database and stored in the variable var_clob which i need to insert into remote database ****/
    Insert into remote_table@remote values (remote_table_seq.nextval,var_clob);
    /*** when i try to execute the above command i am getting the following error
    ORA-06550: line 6, column 105:
    PL/SQL: ORA-22992: cannot use LOB locators selected from remote tables
    ORA-06550: line 6, column 1:
    PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored *****/
    /***For a test i created the same table in local db****/
    Insert into local_table values (local_table_seq.nextval,var_clob);
    It is working fine and i am able to see the entire CLOB what i want.
    surprisingly if i pass some value instead of a varibale to the remote table like the following..
    Insert into remote_table@remote values (remote_table_seq.nextval,'Hiiiiiiiii');
    It is working fine...
    I tried the following too..
    decalre
    var_clob clob;
    begin
    var_clob := 'Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii';
    Insert into remote_table@remote (remote_table_id) values (1);
    commit;
    update remote_table@remote set remote_clob = var_clob where remote_table_id = 1;
    commit;
    end
    I am getting the following error..
    ORA-22922: nonexistent LOB value
    ORA-02063: preceding line from CARDIO
    ORA-06512: at line 6
    Could someone please help me in fixing this issue..I need to process all the data to a variable like var_clob and insert that clob into remote table..
    Thanks in advance..

  • How to keep business data?

    Dear all,
    I have sevral steps to start a process in a global creation activity. I input some data in step one and then click save button but do not start a process. Then I log out. All data I input is lost.
    When I enters new global creation activity, is there a way to see the data I input last time?
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Regards

    You have a couple choices.
    First you could use the Global Creation activity and allow the instance to be created. Once created you could then assign it to the same person using logic like "next.participant = creation.participant" to finish editing it in the first activity in the process. The drawback to this approach is that the work item instance is actually inside the process and you'd need another transition from the Begin activity to the second activity in the processs if the user did not click the "Save" button.
    Second, you could do the same thing you are doing, but inside of the Screenflow write the information to a database table. When the end user reenters the Global Creation, they'd type in their unique id and the information from the database would be read. The drawback to this approach is that they'd have to remember their unique id for the saved data.

  • I am not able to see the data By request id in ODS

    HI Gurus,
    I am trying to do data loads from flatflies based on Region to ODS(We have flat files based on region for each region we have one flatfile) .I have loaded 2 files into ods.But when i am checking the data in ODS by request id .I am seeind 2 regions data on one request id .I am not able to see the data for other request id.
    For example:
    We have two flat files one is region 1: 5100 and region 2: 5030
    Request id 1: contains region 5100 data
    request id 2 : contains region 5030 data.
    But when i am checking the data in ODS its showing 5100&5030 data onn request id 1.I am not seeing any data for requestid 2.
    Please help me out.

    Hi,
    Active data cant be seen by Request id but definitely change log table contains request id and list of records per request
    Go to Manage ---> Contents tab --> New Data. Over here you can enter the request number and check the data request wise.....The same can be done for Change log
    Check the log in SM37 if it exists there or not.
    May be the number of records will be more and depending upon the system processses it will be taking time to load.ID request is loaded to ODS then it could be activation time

  • I install window 8 and Unfortunatly all drive format. And all drive mix, now i have only 1 DRIVE C. I want Bit locker Drive's data Back

    Last sunday i install a window 8 and this window format my all drive & make it 1 drive (DRIVE C). Before all of this i have 5 drive in different size with 1 Bitlocker protect drive.
    So i try data recovery software to recover my data. i got back all my data without that ( bitlocker ) protected drive.
    so please guys help me how can i get back data from bitlocker protected drives.
    please please help me.

    Hi,
    I sorry for your experience, but there is no way to recovery the data encryped by BitLocker untill now.
    BitLocker is designed to make the encrypted drive unrecoverable without the required authentication. When in recovery mode, the user needs the recovery password or recovery key to unlock the encrypted drive. Therefore, we highly recommend
    that you store the recovery information in AD DS or in another safe location.
