Data refresh problem - QaaWS and Tomcat cache

Hi Experts,
I have a problem with data refreshing in Xcelsius 2008 dashboard when I use QaaWS.
System is: BO XI 3.1 on the Win2008 server.
When data are changing in the database InfoView documents show it immediately, but into the Xcelsius dashboards new data not coming.
In the dashboards I use auto refresh, and Refresh button too... It doesn't help.
New data are appearing just after restarting of Tomcat.
Maybe Tomcat is caching data...?
Do somebody have similar issue? Could you suggest me something to do?

Hi Janos,
Tomcat has cache which the default time is 60 seconds.
You can change the cache time when you create QaaWS wsdl.
If you do NOT want the cache, you can
1. locate to: ${BOE Install Path}\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\dswsbobje\WEB-INF\classes
2. Open dsws.properties
3. Find the property qaaws.cache_dpresult.optim= and set it to false.
4. Re-start tomcat.

Xcelsius 4.5 issue using QAAWS and Tomcat

Hello,
We have this issue where the dashboards do not display any data when opened. They are set to refresh on open.
Only after the Tomcat webserver is restarted, then do they display data. But this keeps happenning often and intermitently.
We do not get any error message, just a blank dashbaord. We are using QAAWS for connection.
Any ideas why and resolution?

Can this bug be addressed for 4.5? Unfortunately, the changes I talked about above (to the TRUNC/TEXT order of operations) got around some calculation errors but not others, as more testing has shown. For example,
Scenario #1
1.1. Multiply 3.00 * 3.30 = 9.900
1.2. Convert 9.900 to text
1.3. Truncate 9.900 to 9.90 <--- SUCCESS: Excel sees 9.90, Xcelsius sees 9.90
Scenario #2
2.1. Multiply 3.00 * 1.70 = 5.100
2.2. Convert 5.100 to text
2.3. Truncate 5.100 to 5.10 <--- ERROR: Excel sees 5.10, Xcelsius sees 5.09
I'm out of ideas at the moment and am beginning to worry.

Data load problem - BW and Source System on the same AS

Hi experts,
Im starting with BW (7.0) in a sandbox environment where BW and the source system are installed on the same server (same AS). The source system is the SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) 5.0.
BW is working on client 001 while SRM is on client 100 and I want to load data from the SRM into BW.
Ive configured the RFC connections and the BWREMOTE users with their corresponding profiles in both clients, added a SAP source system (named SRMCLNT100), installed SRM Business Content, replicated the data sources from this source system and everything worked fine.
Now I want to load data from SRM (client 100) into BW (client 001) using standard data sources and extractors. To do this, Ive created an InfoPackage in one standard metadata data source (with data, checked through RSA3 on client 100 source system). Ive started the data load process, but the monitor says that no Idocs arrived from the source system and keeps the status yellow forever.

I didn't see any reason why it's not bringing. Are you doing full extraction or Delta. If delta extraction please check the extractor is delta enabled or not. Some times this may cause problems.

My data acquisition problem:noise and transducer rocking

Thanks to Otis and Dan, I 've finally got DAQmx installed and run, But I still have some problems with my application:
1>, before my transducer was connected, when I check my board with "traditional NI-DAQ devices test panels", the board acquired noise of-0.02to 0.03volts firts" and then the value dropped to "-0.004-0.005volts", but if I check it with" NI-DAQmx devices", the board sensed noise of" -0.02 to 0.03 volts", why inconsistent for the same board?
2> when I check my board with my transducer turned-on( dispalcemnet transducer, need to push the handle to turn on), the reading is about"-0.3 to 0.2", this is the result without input signal. seems that "pushing down" the handle of the transducer rocking the tested surface and induced vibration of my tested surface.
3> when i check my testing system with transducer turned on and with my signal input (by inducing vibration of the tested surface), my acquired data reading is only about"0.06 maximum",
4> it seems my input signal is too little compared with the system noise or transducer induced vibration.
5>the frequency domain analysis indicated that the noise frequency is wide with some three main peaks of frequencies higher than my expected signal frequency.
Due to the previous reason or some other causes, my acquired data just did not show up any consistency.
I want to know if there are any measures that I can take to get better testing results.

Are you using any signal conditioning on this device? It looks
like your signal is still pretty small. If you have a small
signal and a lot of noise then the data you are getting will be useless.
It sounds like you are trying to do analog triggering. Make sure
that you are inserting the analog trigger line into APFI 0. Try
looking at this Example Program: M Series: Analog Input Acquisition with an Analog Start Hardware Trigger
Keep in mind that if you are trying to do analog triggering that you
need a 625X or a 628X device. If you don't have one of these
devices. Then you will need to use a software analog trigger.
Essentially all that is would be to look at the values returned in a
continuous acquisition, and once they go past a certain level, then you
would begin displaying the data that you have acquired.

HT3288 my track pad is jumping around all the time and constantly clicking i tried updating the firmware but the computer states all is up to date, the probleme comes and goes and I'm not shire what triggers it

my track pad will sudenly start jumping around the screen and clicking very rapidly, since te problem began it operates diferently from normal when ever it apears to be working correctly, specificly i can no longer grab items without removing the tracking finger from the pad before clicking to grab an item, if i do not it will procede as if i double cliked somthing, conversly if i disable the two finger tap double click i am unable to double click anything, sometimes whilst apearing to funtion normally it will scroll from side to side if i do not remove my thumb from the bottom of the pad, again these are during the rare instances its not jumping about the screen cliking, and reaking havoc on what ever im working on any help would be apreciated thanks.

You have some type of hardware problem. More then likely the battery is swelling and putting presure on the trackpad. The only thing to do is take to Apple and have them check it all out, replacing any parts that are needed.

Data Refresh Problem

Dear All
Iam working in Forms 10g.
I have a multi record Database block.
I query the block and goes to (nth) 3rd record.
I do a change in 3rd record which inturns updates one of the status field of the 2nd record as per the functionality but not displaying the changed status in the screen. I know that if i do a requery in post-commit of the block the screen gets refreshed.
But i cannot write
go_block('a'); --As i have multiple blocks in the form
execute_query();
in post-commit as go_block is a restricted procedure.
So please help me and suggest me how to achieve this functionality.

it is restricted, but with my One-Time-Timer you can do it:

Xi Data Cache Refresh Problem

Hello,
We have following Problem:
We send an XML-Request with HTTP-Adapter to XI and get Data from R/3, works fine.
But when we send a Second Request we become an Error.
The error comes because in the Java Runtime the XI writes wrong values into Message.
When we do a XI Data Cache Refresh for INTEGRATION_SERVER
and INTEGRATION_RUNTIME we can send a message and all works fine again.´
Any Idea why the XI Caches Data from Request and set this values in the message of request that was send later?

If I select Country India and Client ankit Then In My URL display Prompt 0 =India & Prompt 1=Ankit
and data display For such record....
But When I change Country Name : UK And Client =Steban then In My URl display Prompt0=UK & Prompt1=Steban
But Report Contains Previous Record Of Ankit & India..
So It means My Parameter value are changing dynamically but Cache Server Of CMC are not refresh when i Click On Refresh Button which are displaying in Viewer the report Data are reflecting....
So Please Provide me solution for given above problem.....
Do I need to change Crystal Configuration Management Setting ....but i don't know how it will be...
So Please give me any solution ...

Screen refresh problem where data is entered and the screen doesn't refresh

Many people in the company are experiencing the odd screen refresh problem where data is entered and the screen doesn't refresh to show the updated result in corresponding cell formulas.
Microsoft have issued a hotfix to fix the issue for Excel 2003 as shown. Microsoft released a hotfix for this problem (<a href="advisory?ID=978908">KB978908</a>). Display memory tends to pick up data from hidden sheets and pastes it
into the active screen. No impact on the file. This occurs when protecting and unprotecting worksheets in VBA. I also suspect that enabling and disabling screen refresh contributes to this problem. In any case there is a fix, albeit with the following disclaimer:

Based on your description, Excel does not show the text strings when you typing. It may be caused by the cell format, if we set the cell format as ";;;" in custom format, it will not display the text that you typed.
And the issue may be caused by the third-party input method, there are some compatibility issue between them.
If the issue still exits, please try the following methods
Verify/install the latest updates
Repair your Office program

Problem in scheduling data refresh of excel file that uses PowerQuery and PowerQuery

I think I have successfully created and enabled the gateway and data sources for refresh - they are both seeming to connect. However, when I try to schedule a data refresh to occur in the PowerBI site for the Excel file I receive an error message
that the connection could not be established and receive error message "Correlation ID: d118ab93-436d-44a9-8c09-564f64fe0c58". Appreciate any assistance in figuring out how to resolve. Thanks a lotl

Cache Refresh Problems:J2EE

I am facing a problem in cache refresh.
The XI 3.0 server is at SP10. Now whenever i am doing any changes in directory and activating it,it doesnt give me any error. but when i am cheking the Cache notifiactions it shows me a "GREEN" light for ABAP Cache and a "RED"(not yet started) light for Central Adapter Engine Cache.
Thus, in sxi_cache also i see a green light telling me that cache contents are upto date.
I tried doing a manual CPACache refresh by using
http://<host>:<port>/CAPCache/refresh?mode=full|delta , but it doesnt get completed.
Due to this my scenarios are not working currently and whatever changes i am making is not getting reflected.
Has anyone faced this...?
How can I solve this?????

Hi Sunita,
The following are required for a successful CPA-Cache refresh:
1.Correct maintenance of the users in the ExchangeProfile (Adapter Engine Service User and Integration Directory Service User)
2.Successful SLD self-registration of the URLs
3.Availability of SLD
Check the "Problems" tab of the cache notifications overview in the directory. If there is a problem with an incorrect communication then it will be shown in this tab.
Let me know what the "Problems" tab says.

Any problems having Admin Optimization and Proactive caching run concurrently

Hi,
We've recently enabled proactive caching refreshing every 10 minutes and have seen data in locked versions changing after Full Admin Optimization runs. Given how the data reverts back to a prior submitted number, I suspect having proactive caching occur while the Full Admin Optimization runs may be the culprit.
here's an example to depict what is happening.
original revenue is $10M.
user submits new revenue amount of $11M.
version is locked.
data in locked version is copied into a new open version.
full optimization runs at night and take 60 mins. all the while, proactive caching runs every 10 mins.
user reports the revenue in the previously locked version is $10M and the new version shows $11M.
We've never experienced this prior to enabling proactive caching which leads me to believe the 2 processes running concurrently may be the source of the problem.
Is proactive caching supposed to be disabled while Full Admin Optimization process is running?

When a full optimization is run, the following operations take place:
- data is moved from wb and fac2 tables to the fact table
- the cube is processed
If the users are loading data while full optimization occurs then it is expected that a certain discrepancy will be observed. One needs to know that even with proactive caching enabled, the OLAP cube will not be 100% accurate 100% of the time.

Also - depending on how they are built, the BPC reports may generate a combination of MDX and SQL queries which will retrieve data from the cube and data from the backend tables.
I would suggest to prevent users from loading data and running reports while the optimization takes place.
