From Rsa6 in R/3 system.Select datasource and Double click on it.Place cursor on the extract structure and double click.Now go to append structure.you can do the necessary additions here. Usually this is handled by ABAPers as you have to include User Exits.

hi Suneel,
before you can get the standard business content datasource,
you have to install first Plug-in PI in source system side, this is basis job,
then you can transfer the datasource with RSA5, and activated datasource can be seen with RSA6.
to create own datasource RSO2 can be used, for APO we can generate datasource from planning area, use transaction mentioned before.

Active version of BW Data Source Dev Appears inactive in Q

Hi All,
This is urgent..needs to move to prod today but I am stuck in D still!
Does anyone know why a particular BW data source which is active inn Dev might appear to be inactive in Q after the transport?
We tried manual replication, transporting replica and reapplying the transports, recollecting the data source in both r3 and BW
I also verified that I am collecting the active version in my transport

Make sure the appropriate "Conversion of Source System names after transport" are maintained in target system QA and Prod.
RSA1 > Tools >...

Follow the above path...Go to Datawarehousing Workbench in QA tcode RSA1 and on the top you will see Tools > and follow from there...

Unable to find data source in bw server

Hai Experts,
Iam novice to bw,got a problem in co-pa extraction,
created data source in R/3 n generated,in bw to assign data source to infosource n create info package.But i dont find the infosource or replicated data in bw,could any one suggest how to get that n suggest more about it...please

Welcome to SDN Vijay!
I would perform the following steps;
1) Replicate the DataSource from your source system. Steps Tcode RSA1 -> Click on source system -> Find your source system and right click -> click on replicate DataSource
2) To find your infosource, Tcode RSA1 -> Click on infosource -> Find (The binocular or CTLF-F) -> Type in the infosource name.

Bw report as data source

Hello toghether,
Let's say we have a query on a cube and a lot of calculations made in the query.
I have to load the results of the query into another BW project (cube).
For the moment I create flat files from the query and I load them manually into the other project using PC File Upload infosources.
Is it possible to make the connection directly? So that I can use the query as a datasource? If yes, please let me know how to do this.

1) Using Tcode : rscrm_report
Re: rscrm_report - If time is set periodically will it overwrite/refresh?
2) Using APD in which Query as data source.

Error in Data source

Dear All,
While creating transfer or update rule the following error occurs -
"DataSource COMPLEX does not exist in source system SANTANU of version A"
here COMPLEX = Data Source
SANTANU = Source System
Where as I have already defined Data Source Complex under Source System Santanu.

Hi snato,
check in the Source system
Use Tcode RSA6 in source system.
If the data source is in active state it will displayed there.
If not active ,you can use RSA5 Tcode to activate it if the datasource.
Use extractor checker to see if the datasource extracts any data from R/3
Goto T-code RSA3 in sourcesystem and check ur datasource
BW system
-->Did you replicate the data source?
-->R u able to see the data source in BW side?
--> If replicated can see the data source then check for the DS is active or not?
--> If the DS is inactive then if you want o activate the data source -->Double click on DS and change -->activate the data source and try to create update rules or transformations.

Data source issue

i have to enhance multiple fields from r/3 to bw.
i have added the r/3 fields in rsa6, extract structure, but i cannot see
the enhanced fields in the ds.
extract strucuture has got the added fields, if fields are added in ext str, then
it should automattically be seen in datasource which is not happening.
plz guide

I believe u have added fields through rsa6 and after data soruce generation u r not able to see these Z fields in data source.
If this is the situation... then look into table roosfield.
u may have to use following code after suitable modification for u.
Some times this updation does not take place automatically in that case this is the work around but not std. solution. for std. solution u may have to raise oss and get some note no. form SAP.
The required code..
REPORT Z_DS_FLD_UPD.
TABLES: roosfield.
ZZCLUBT
*update roosfield set selection = space
*where oltpsource = '0CUSTOMER_ATTR'
*and objvers = 'A'
*and field = 'ZZCLUBT'.
U will have to use tcode se38 to write this code and run this code.

Need urgent help to generate SPL Data Sources for Line Items

Hi All,
I am trying to extract the Special Purpose Ledger Data from R/3 into BW. To do this, I am following the steps to generate the Data Sources for Totals table and Lien Items Table.
Using Transaction BW01 and BW03 on the R/3 side, I am able to generate the Totals Record-DataSource successfully.
But I am not able to generate the Line Items-DataSource. I am using the same procedure.
Can someone please help me or point me in the right direction. Are there any other settings I need to make to generate the Line Items-DataSource. Interestingly, I am able to generate the Line Items-DataSource for some other old ledgers in the System like ZZ and ZX. But I need the Line Items-DataSource from a ledger called ZP for which I am having trouble.
I would greatly appreciate if someone can get back to me ASAP.

During BW01, The Generate extract structure is fine for both Total and Line Item Table.The issue is when we run tcode bw03 where you assign the datasource to a ledger.
Here, I can assign only for the Total Records data source and NOT for the Line Items-DataSource.
I hope I could explain the issue. Looking forward for some advice.

Hi
Enhancement means in the SAP given datasource If you want to add extra fields.
The procedure is like below.
Take the datasource in which you enhance.
1. If you enhancing in the LO datasaource, take the aprapriate communication strucute append the structure in that structure add the fields you wnat enhance.
If you are enhancing other than LO you take extract structure append the structure and add the fields in that structure.
2. Goto LBWE Tcode take the option called "Maintain Extract structure" take the fields which you enhanced from pool take push in to extract strucure.
If you enhancing other than LO no need to do this.
3. Goto RSA6, take datasource, goto change mode. The enhanced fields Hide option checked, reomove that tick and save it.
4. Goto "CMODE" tcode, If project is already created for that enhancement goto disply mode. If the project is not created give the project name created and give the enhancemet name as "RSAP0001" and save it.
in the component you can find 4 Function modules
EXIT_SAPLRSAP_001 -> Transaction Data
EXIT_SAPLRSAP_002 -> masterdata attributes
EXIT_SAPLRSAP_003 -> Master data Texts
EXIT_SAPLRSAP_004 -> Masterdata Hirarchies.
Take the apprapriate FM and double click on it
there you can find Include name. If you double click on it you can find ABAP editor.

Delta settings in Generic data source

Hi experts,
I have created a generic datasource based on infoset query i,e the table KONV (Cluster table).
I maintained the delta settings in rso2 as follows:
Delta specific field : KNUMV Doc condition number.
Calendar day.
Safety interval upper limit: 1 Calendar days.
New status for changed records.
Are the above settings correct ?

Hi ,
befor creating the data source U need to create the infoset in r/3 (the sap query). SQ02 is the tcode for creating the infosetquery.

SQ03 and the tables used are EKKO,EKPO and MARA.
and when i wanted to extract data from generic data source through infoset query

Hi,
Do u selecting your info set under extraction from SAP query (Tcode - RSO2)? Make sure your infoset query active & available for reporting.

Hi Tracy,
For pulling Meter Reading data into SAP BI from ISU. The following tables from ISU are used.
1. EPROFVALMONTH & EPROFASS( Daily ) . Based on these tables, you require to make customized datasource
2. 0UC_MTR_DOC this is the standard datasource which gives you Monthly meter reads data.
For pulling Billing related data, the datasource 0UC_SALES_STATS_02 is used. This datasource fetches data
from the table DBESTA_BWPROT. This table gets filled by running a Mass Activity EBW_DQ_SS in ECC.
Once you run this Mass Acitivity, data records gets extracted into the table DBESTA_BWPROT. Then extract the data
from BW. Once data is extracted into BW , there will no records in this table DBESTA_BWPROT.
This the brief steps you need to pull Billing data into BW.
1. Close reconciliation keys (FPF2, check table DBESTA_BWPROT after you have done this to see what recon keys are available for you to extract). ....... Checked the Posting Date.
2. Transfer reconciliation keys to G/L. ... (FPG1)
3. Run mass activity EBW_DQ_SS ...... for the Posting Date period as per table DBESTA_BWPROT
Summary of steps :
close Reconcillation Keys using tcode FPF2, transferred using tcode FPG1, Run Mass Activity EBW_DQ_SS
Hope this gives you a Idea, how to pull data for related areas. I dont have idea on EMMA tcode..

I selected for DataSource (RSDS) instead of selecting 3.x DataSouce.
Now what r the steps to load data into cube.

In Sometimes the Standard Extraction Does not Satisfy the Customers Needs that time We have to use Generic Extraction.
generic extraction is also classified in to three types
using
1. View
2.Infoset query
3.Function module.
Procedure:
-->Go to Tcode : RSo2,
-->There give the name of data source which you want to create like
transaction data source or master data attribue or Text data source.
-->enter
-->again in the next screen you need to give application like SD or MM
etc
-->in the same screen need to select table/view or infosetquery or
function module. these are different ways of creating data sources.
-->Give the name for the same like if u r creating data source on table
give the name of table.
-->click on Generic delta which will there in application tool bar and
fil the required columns in that screen like type of delta and all

How to do basic LO extraction for SAP-R3-BW
1. Go to transaction code RSA3 and see if any data is available related to your DataSource. If data is there in RSA3 then go to transaction code LBWG (Delete Setup data) and delete the data by entering the application name.
2. Go to transaction SBIW --> Settings for Application Specific Datasource --> Logistics --> Managing extract structures --> Initialization --> Filling the Setup table --> Application specific setup of statistical data --> perform setup (relevant application)
3. In OLI*** (for example OLI7BW for Statistical setup for old documents : Orders) give the name of the run and execute. Now all the available records from R/3 will be loaded to setup tables.
4. Go to transaction RSA3 and check the data.
5. Go to transaction LBWE and make sure the update mode for the corresponding DataSource is serialized V3 update.
6. Go to BW system and create infopackage and under the update tab select the initialize delta process. And schedule the package. Now all the data available in the setup tables are now loaded into the data target.
7.Now for the delta records go to LBWE in R/3 and change the update mode for the corresponding DataSource to Direct/Queue delta. By doing this record will bypass SM13 and directly go to RSA7. Go to transaction code RSA7 there you can see green light # Once the new records are added immediately you can see the record in RSA7.
8.Go to BW system and create a new infopackage for delta loads. Double click on new infopackage. Under update tab you can see the delta update radio button.
9.Now you can go to your data target and see the delta record.

RSA1 -> source systems -> right click on your source system -> replicate
then activate your BC:

Attribute sets can be transfered thorugh RFC connection. Create the RFC of the source system in target system, then import the Attribute sets using the option "Transfer of Attribute Sets from Other System " tcode CRMD_MKT_TOOLS - Expert Tools.
