Hi,
There is maximum 1000 records can be imported in DTW. More than 1000 records create such error message.
Split the records equally and then try to upload.

DTW error message - Data too large for the field65171
Am trying to run up General Legder Accounts using DTW in Version 8.8 and have been successful with Level 2. The customer has three levels only. The total number of characters for the various segments is 18 and I have double and triple checked that the column "Code" has exactly 18 characters. Even used "=trim" in Excel several times.
When I run DTW for level 3 it errors out and it displays the above error message. What is field 65171???
I thought DTW was supposed to be so much improved with 8.8 - where are help files that tell you what the errors are???
Regards - ZalHi ZAL,

Data Profiling - Value too large for column error
I am running a data profile which completes with errors. The error being reported is an ORA 12899 Value too large for column actual (41 maximum 40).
I have checked the actual data in the table and the maximum is only 40 characters.
Any ideas on how to solve this. Even though it completes no actual profile is done on the data due to the error.

[SOLVED] Value too large for defined data type in Geany over Samba
Some months ago Geany started to output an error whith every attempt to open a file mounted in smbfs/cifs.
The error was:
Value too large for defined data type
Now the error is solved thanks to a french user, Pierre, on Ubuntu's Launchpad:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/ … comments/5
The solution is to add this options to your smbfs/cifs mount options (in /etc/fstab for example):
,nounix,noserverino
It works on Arch Linux up-to-date (2009-12-02)
I've writed it on the ArchWiki too: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sam … leshootingAn update on the original bug. This is the direct link to launchpad bug 455122:

File_To_RT data truncation ODI error ORA-12899: value too large for colum
Hi,
Could you please provide me some idea so that I can truncate the source data grater than max length before inserting into target table.
Prtoblem details:-
For my scenario read data from source .txt file and insert the data into target table.suppose source file data length exceeds max col length of the target table. Then How will I truncate the data so that data migration will be successful and also can avoid the ODI error " ORA-12899: value too large for column".
Thanks

In which step you are getting this error ? If its loading step then try increasing the length for that column from datastore and use substr in the mapping expression.Hi Bhabani,
You are right. It is for Loading SrcSet0 Load data.I have increased the column length for target table data store
and then apply the substring function but it results the same.
If you wanted to say to increase the length for source file data store then please tell me which length ?Physical length or
logical length?
Thanks

Hi there,
I am having a kind of weird issues with my oracle enterprise db which was perfectly working since 2009. After having had some trouble with my network switch (replaced the switch) the all network came back and all subnet devices are functioning perfect.
This is an NFS for oracle db backup and the oracle is not starting in mount/alter etc.

regds,
samapthThis is a really hard post to read. See if you can take a bit of time to reword it, but one thing I do understand is that you are getting this error:
page header plus page footer too large for the page.
Typically, you can trust that if the error is thrown, it is true. E.g.; this is not one of those errors that says one thing, and means another. I suspect that you have some field(s) in the header(s) that grow, depending on the data. If there is too much data or the data is too long ( a text for example), the error will be thrown. To resolve this, see if placing the field(s) into a group footer / header will help.

Inserted value too large for column
Hi,
I have a table (desc below), with only one trigger wich fill the operatcreat, operatmodif, datecreat and datemodif column at insert and update for each row. When I try to insert, I got the following messages :
