there is 9i database on server, now want to have another copy of this database in another machine with 11g, any easier way?

9i installed already, but somehow SQLPLUS cannot connect to neither 11g nor 9i locally or remotely. Error: ORA-12560. TNS protocol adapter error. or timeout error( remotely). One thing strange is SQL Developer can connect to 9i or 11g remotely.
listener.ora and tnsnames.ora should be fine, that's why SQL Developer works, right.
Another thing is weird: after I switch 9ihome\bin and 11ghome\bin from env Path, I can not see sqlplus 11g version now, even 11gbin is the first path.

Hello,
I have a database A. of about 15GB size and want to copy the data across to database B. - same schema just a few additional tables.
When I use Oracle Sql developer and click on tools- database copy and select my source A and destination B. truncate objects the process starts
but..does not copy any data at all. - it takes only 3 minutes as well.
why is that?

well I dont just want to create a duplicate of database A. because B. contains some tables that are still important but unique to B.
most of the tables between A. and B. are the same and I just want to copy them over from A to B.
Using the Oracle SQL Developer seems to get the similarities between the schemas and copy those table over BUT it somehow forgets the data altough there
is a DATA MOVE as part of the copying procedure.
I know there is the options to create migration repositories but this all seems to complicated to me.

Moving the mailbox database copy from one exchange server to another exchange server 2010 DAG

is it possible to the move the passive copy of database and logs from one server to another exchange server in the same DAG with out removing and deleting the mailbox database copies in exchange 2010
normaly procedure is
Remove the mailbox database copies and manually delete the .edb files and logs from the physical location and re-add the mailbox database copy to the new server in the DAG.
is that any way to achieve to move the passive database copy to another exchange 2010 server in the same DAG ?

From your note, you appear to have a two-member DAG (with a server hosting your active database, and a second hosting the passive copy), and you want to move your passive database copy from the current passive server to another. Your note
about what "the normal procedure is" isn't 100% correct - there are many ways to handle this task, and all can be considered "normal". Why not just add the third server to the DAG and
add a database copy on that third server? Once it is fully seeded, you can remove the current passive copy. This way, you never lose your redundancy.
Yes i can add the third and fourth serve in DAG , but i cannot add the mailbox database copies to the 3rd and 4th mailbox server in DAG as am using RTM version of exchange 2010 which is allowing to have only 5 database inclding mailbox datbase copies
and also currently my lab setup is two member dag (with a server hosting your active database,
and a second hosting the passive copy) in the same site named SITE A
and recently i have created new SITE B and included the 3rd and 4th DAG members in the same DAG
i want the mailbox database copies from the mailbox server database in SITE A to
Mailbox server database in SITE B as passive copy
That is why i want to move the mailbox database without deleting / removing it manually

We are running UCCX 5.02 and have a workflow setup to automatically record all agent calls without Supervisor intervention. We are not using QM. Is there a UCCX tool, other than writing a .bat file and scheduling it, that will copy/move the recordings to another location automatically?

See attached for a script a wrote to archive the .raw files created by CRS to .wav format on a Windows network share. All activities carried out by the script are logged to text file for reference.
Use at your own risk!
Be aware that it doesn't 'clean out' entries from the databases, so if you allow the script to remove files from the CRS server the recordings will appear in Supervisor desktop until they expire.
To run the script, read it carefully, check the parameters, and rename it to .vbs.
It should then be added as a Scheduled Task and executed as a local administrator on the CRS server itself. On a HA setup, set up the scheduled task on each recording server.

Lagged Database Copy - help.

Hi exchange gurus!
I am working on testing LAgged DB copy in Exchange 2013. What I've done:
1. Configured lagged passive copy by running set-mailboxdatabasecopy .... -replaylagtime 2 (similar to what we have on transport), I didn't use -truncate option (is that important? Or default value is fine?)
Then during the next 2 days I've sent some email messages to the mailbox that is hosted by the active DB copy.
Then on third day I have deleted all the messages from the mailbox.
I followed this article (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd979786(v=exchg.150).aspx), and used the (Use the Shell to activate a lagged mailbox database copy to
a specific point in time) passive lagged copy, replayed the logs (step by step like in the article), then resumed the passive lagged copy and activated it. I have then waited until all statuses say healthy and made sure that lagged DB copy was mounted.
I have checked the user mailbox and none of the messages from the previous 2 days were there.

Even though the copy is lagged the logs still get copied to the machine right away, the logs just aren't replayed right away. And if you try to move to the lagged copy, it will try to reach out to the last active copy and copy what logs it didn't get. So
to test the loss you have to make sure that the logs don't get copied over to the lagged machine.
Yes, Active Manager can choose to active a lagged copy. Active Manager doesn't even know if a copy is lagged or not. All it will do is look at the state of each copy and determine which one is the best one. So if your Preference 1 copy just went bad, AM
will look and if it sees that Preference 2 (not lagged) happens to have a replay queue of 200 logs (due to a case of bad luck) and your Preference 3 (lagged) happens to have a replay queue of 199 (because of the lag) AM will pick the Preference 3 copy to be
the next active copy.
ActivationOnly the Active Manager will not automatically chose that copy during a failover. If you set the
DatabaseCopyAutoActivationPolicy property on the MailboxServer to blocked then the AM will never pick any of the copies on the server to become active as part of a failover.

Cannot seed a new database copy

I am setting up databases on a 3-node DAG. I had created one database (DB1) and put copies of it on the other two servers, then I received and configured additional disk space and wanted to move the database to that.
I was able to create a new database (DB2) on the newly configured drive and successfully create copies on the other two servers. However, I am having trouble after moving DB1. I deleted the two copies of DB1 and then successfully moved DB1
to its new paths for the database and logs on the server EXCH1. When I try to create copies of DB1 on the server EXCH2, I get the following error:

source server 'Exch1.mycorp.com' about the local truncation point. Hresult: 0xc8000713. Error: Unable to find the

Based on things I read, I have tried dismounting and remounting DB1 and even restarting the Information Store.
Do any of you know what the problem is? I assume it may have something to do with previously having copies of DB1 in a different path on EXCH2 and EXCH3, but I don't know where to go from here.

From the error message, this tells us that there is either a corrupted log file or a broken sequence in the logs on the active server that is EXCH1.
Please dismount the database DB1 on the active server EXCH1 and clear the logs files, mount and then try add database copy on EXCH2 server.
First please use the eseutil /mh command to check if the database is in clean shutdown state.
If it is clean shutdown, create a folder called OLD Logs and move all files except for the “.EDB” file into that folder.
Remount this database and add database copy.
If the issue persists, please check the application log to see if there is any related error message.

Database Copy Doesn't find tables for moving data

I'm running SQL Dev 3.1.7 on a Win7-64 PC against Oracle 11g. Using the Database Copy function to move and update tables from one instance to another. The application seems to work fine, creating all of the tables, but in the script when it tries to move the data, for some tables it fails as follows:
Moving Data for object MY_TABLE_NAME
Unable to perform batch insert.
MY_TABLE_NAME ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
Earlier in the script it dropped and then recreated the table in the target instance. The table does exist in the source instance. This occurred for 24 tables out of 105.
Any ideas what is going on?

There is a lookup table involved but at the time of moving the data none of the foreign keys have been enabled.

how do I copy/move RMAN catalog from one DB to another ? Is it just copying the tablespace I created for the RMAN catalog ?

Delete partially copied movie file from iPhone. Shows grayed out in Videos on the iPhone but it doesn't show up in iTunes.

I have synced my iPhone 4S with iTunes and I got an error while copying one movie. Now this movie shows up grayed out in videos on the iPhone but NOT in iTunes. Hence, I cannot delete this partially copied movie from my iPhone. And since it is grayed out, the right-to-left swipe does not work. I have resynced with "no movies" option so that every movie would be deleted and indeed every movie was deleted except for the problematic one. I rebooted the iPhone several times in case it was a glitch. No success. I even tried tools like iExplorer and DiskAid but I cannot find this **** file. Is there any way to delete this partially copied file from the iPhone without having to restore it?

You can only watch the movie on the device you rented it on. Here's a snippet from the Apple Support site (italics mine):
If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.
If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.

Though it refers to items purchased from the iTunes Store, it applies to all your iTunes content. And if you happen to also own an iPod:
How to use your iPod to move your music to a new computer
Once you have the tracks on some removable medium, you can mount that on your new computer and then just drag the content to the iTunes window. Make sure that the option to "copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" is set in the iTunes -> Advanced -> General preferences before you do. Alternatively, you can use the Add To Library command and select each track (or folder of tracks).
If you won't be using that Windows system once you move the content, don't forget to deauthorize the system from your iTunes Store account before you dispose of the computer.

Sharepoint 2013 copy/move operation using Content and Structure fails

We had a recent upgrade from SP2010 to SP2013 environment. After the migration, we realized that the
copy/move operations using Manage content and structure(sitemanager.aspx) is not working as expected, neither does this give any error nor is it stuck. In fact if I check the content and structure log I find the message as
succeeded but file/item is not copied to the target.
The strange thing is that if I am performing this operation with Full Control permission level it
does not work but if I do the operation as Site collection admin it works without problem. I know if sub-sites are to moved then one should be site col admin but in this case I am trying to move just documents or pages.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

According to your description, my understanding is that copy/move operation using Content and Structure cannot work in SharePoint.
I recommend to check if there are any custom fields in the source list/library and target list/library. If yes, delete the custom fields to see if the issue still occurs.

To copy or move files/items between sites, we need to have
appropriate permissions on both sites.
I recommend to check if the user has full control on both sites.

Is this a bug?: copied movie clip has wrong frame rate and ruins the main movie's sync

Hello,
I am trying to copy a movieclip with a frame rate of 30 frames per second to a movie that has a frame rate of 30 frames per second. Both movies are actionscript 3 movies. When I do this, my copied movie clip's frame rate reverts to 12 frames per second and all my audio synched animation is trashed. Then when I change it back manually to 30 frames per second it makes my main movie's stage animation go crazy at full possible speed and the audio is all out of sync. I have not set export for sharing or action script on this movie clip. I've tried other movie clips that are 30 frames per second and it is all crazy!
Is this a bug? What can I do? I've got 100s of movie clips I need to make. I can't keep remaking them just because flash has a screw loose. I'll go crazy!

Copy/move file on application server

Hey guys,
is there an easy way to copy/move a file from one directory on application server to an other directory? I know i could use the commands OPEN DATASET and so on. Is there an other way to do this via a function module?
