Database not available Backupserver instance not available

Hi all
I'm new to SAP Sybase ASE i installed a ECC6 with SYBASE database15 while starting the server the DB is not going to up and i could not find any proper solution and i'm attaching the logs please help to clear the issue.
Regards,
Chidananda.

Hi Chidananda,
According to your attaching files, ASE instance and backup server instance were running on the machine....
Why don't you check first the ASE process using showserver command as below with sapadmin user or sybase admin user.
#showserver
if dataserver(ASE) and backup server are running on the machine you can see the process as a result of showserver command.
1.if there is a dataserver process you can check the connection to the DB instance with R3trans as below.
#R3trans -d
This is R3trans version 6.24 (release 742 - 11.08.14 - 17:21:00).
unicode enabled version
R3trans finished (0000).
2.if there is no dataserver process, restart the SAP instance or DB instance using stopsap/startsap
#startsap or startsap db
Checking syb Database
Database is running

    Hello Satish,
-> My assumption was correct. Please see my first reply:
"Please pay attention that the liveCache server software is not supported on the 32bit Windows

  • DATABASE MANAGER ERROR "-4 database instance not found"

    Hi
I have installed NNW 2004 ABAP Trial Version and everything seems to be good. SAP GUI is installed and MAX DB too.
Except, I am unable to "add a database instance" in the Database Manager. The instructions tell me to leave the entries as default (database server: <local> and port: <default>) but then when I click the ADD button up pops the message:
    -4 database instance not found
I have a 32 bit Intel Atom processor Netbook running Windows 7 with two drives C: and D:. I have tried disabling my antivir with no avail.
I think the problem could be either:
    A) My installation is on the D drive but the database might be searching for something on the C drive????
    B) There are some "sap" type entries (like 200 of them) in my system32/drivers/etc/services file. One in particular is "sapdp00  3200/tcp" and I know the installation says make sure there are no "3200 ports". I would like to change this and save the file but up pops a message saying "access is denied" even though I have admin rights.
    Any help would be appreciated
    Josh

Please, any hints or directions would help immensely as I am not a technical expert

  • SSIS 2012 Error - The SQL Server specified in Integration Services service configuration is not present or is not available..

    hi Guys,
working on below error if anyone has work around.
It is on SQL Server 2012 cluster.
The SQL Server specified in Integration Services service configuration is not present or is not available. This might occur when there is no default instance of SQL Server on the computer. For more information, see the topic "Configuring
the Integration Services Service" in SQL Server 2012 Books Online.

    Hi Logicinisde,
This issue might be caused that we install named instance on the machine, or the default instance listening a different port rather than the default one.

  • SSAS High Availability in Azure (not SQL DBE)

    Hello,
I was wondering what would be my options for having an SSAS environment with High Availability in Azure?
Please refrain from mentioning HA solutions for the SQL Database Engine itself - that is
    not the issue at hand.
The issue is that as far as I know (and please correct me if I am wrong), the only way to provide SSAS HA is through clustering that involves share storage -- which is not available in Azure.
So I was wondering if anyone has come across such requirement before and if there are any sort of novel/original solutions
    (thinking outside the box).
    Regards,
    P.

    Hi Pmdci,
According to your description, you need implement SSAS environment with High Availability in Microsoft Azure, the problem is that you need to use share storage in this environment which is not available in Azure, right?
Based on my research, a clustered implementation of SSAS can be configured in Microsoft Azure.
A clustered implementation of SSAS can also span from on premises to Azure (or any qualified cloud) if networking is properly configured so that the nodes on premise and in the cloud can see each other, talk to Active Directory, and access storage.

  • Cluster failover but Availability Group do not

We recently had an issue where a file share was unavailable. It caused the cluster to failover. However, the Availability Group did not failover. The application was trying to connect to the secondary database which it couldn't since the failover had not
happened. We are set up using Quorum with a File Share Witness. We have manually failed this over successfully. Any ideas on why the Availability Group did not failover would be most appreciated. We do not have any experts in this area so please help us figure
    out where to look.

Availability listener are a good way of providing a fault tolerance for the client and in addition providing read-intent or read-only access to the secondary replicas. If you need it, you can go through these documentations. They show the why and how to
set them up. If you have any additinal questions let me know.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh213417.aspx
Always make sure to configure AG relevenat parts through SSMS not the cluster Service manager itself. There are some points that you might want to tweak in the cluster manager, but most parts should be configured (and for most cases they are sufficient)

  • Cannot copy export_full: not enough server storage is available to process

    Hello everyone!
We are mounting a 3node RAC on Windows 2003 x64.
The source database is 81741 on Windows 2000.
When we try to copy the dump file - around 56GB - it fails after some time with error:
"Cannot copy export_full: not enough server storage is available to process this command".
Some important details: destination drive is OCFS and has more than sufficient space.
Both 4 servers are in the same network, in the same building.
We copy this same dump file every night to a backup server, what makes us think the problem is in the OCFS drive.

We copy this same dump file every night to a backup server, what makes us think the problem is in the OCFS drive.Yes. Free space reported on a ocfs volume does not imply that all that space is usable. Part of the problem is how the ocfs file system has been configured (the defaults may not suffice for a large file system, or a file system that will contain many files).
A while back we had a similar problem and that was addressed in changing the ocfs defaults used for creating the file system. Suggest that you read up on ocfs2 block and cluster sizes and rethink the configuration of that ocfs volume (unfortunately one has to re-create the file system to apply block and cluster size changes). Details are in the [OCFS2 User Guide|http://oss.oracle.com/projects/ocfs2/dist/documentation/ocfs2_users_guide.pdf].

  • SAPOSCOL is not working(shared memory not available)

    Hi All,

Getting message : SAPOSCOL is not working(shared memory not available)

      dialog                                COLL 20.94 640 - V3.73 64Bit
What could be reason for it ? Please suggest possible solutions..
    Thanks in Advance

    Hello Ramakrishna,
I suggest you to kindly go to OS level and restart the saposcol service and check if that works.
    <b>No values and/or problems with shared memory</b>
Check whether saposcol belongs to user 'root' and whether the authorizations are correct: -rwsr-x---
Because the values of saposcol must be visible for all R/3 systems/instances on a host, saposcol writes data in the shared memory segment with key 1002. This shared memory segment must not be changed (for example, by setting profile parameter ipc/shm_psize_1002). In all profiles, check whether the parameter ipc/shm_psize_1002 is set. If it is, this parameter must be removed from the profiles ---> Note 37537.

  • I am trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro 13", when i run bootcamp it tells me that there is not a windows support software available for my computer. Where can i get the windows support software for my macbook?

I am trying to install windows 7 on my macbook pro 13", when i run bootcamp it tells me that there is not a windows support software available for my computer. Where can i get the windows support software for my macbook?

Apple only supports Windows on certain hardware.
    http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
Apple provides their framework for Windows to run on a Mac, a piece of software called a Hybrid MBR that bridges the gap between how Windows reads the drive partition table (MBR) and EFI/GUID partition table that Mac's use.
It doesn't mean Windows can't run on your Mac, a third party solution called rEFIt will also bridge the gap and allow booting of more that just Windows, Linux as well for a triple booting computer.
Your hardware has to meet the other requirements the second and third operating system needs as as being able to install drivers that will work for your hardware, especially the fans or they will run loud and fast by default.
    http://refit.sourceforge.net/
This above is a advanced procedure which requires knowledge how computers and various operating systems, drive formats and so forth work.
I even admit I don't know everything myself, but I experiment on a separate piece of Mac hardware (out of warranty/AppleCare) designed for this purpose so in case something screws up I'm not taking down my only machine and can use the other to get online and find solutions.
There is a very high potential for losing your data if your using advanced/non-Apple methods to install Windows on your only Mac where Apple doesn't support it. Also one shouldn't be doing this on Mac hardware that is under AppleCare or warranty as it might be voided. Proceed at your own risk and education.

  • I cannot run iPhoto after update to Yosemite.  I cannot update iPhoto because the application store does not have any iPhoto update available.  Anyone can advice how to overcome this hassle?

Not true. Apple has removed both Apps from App Store so you cannot buy them anymore. But if you have any of these Apps already purchased in the past, then you can still download them on your Mac.

Open App Store, sign in with your Apple ID and go to Purchases tab. If you see iPhoto app listed there close down the App Store and do this steps as this is what worked for me:
Open Finder and go to Applications folder.
    Locate iPhoto app
Drag iPhoto app from your Applications folder to Trash (NOTE: Do not emptied Trash yet)
Open App Store app and navigate to Purchases tab.
Click on Install button which is next to the iPhoto app (on the right hand side).
Once iPhoto is downloaded again, test it if its working for you. If all is ok, you can remove your Trash.

I've done a restore.. The phone was completely wiped back to factory settings.. It then tells me there isn't enough space on the phone to restore from back up? How when the phone is empty?!
