Hi Forum,
Is it possible to load the data from MysqlSource to Oracle 11g using ODI?.We have observed that there are no specific KM's available for the data load process for the same.

Hi Jakeer
You can use the SQL to Oracle LKM to move data from MySQL to Oracle. Its not rocket science to unload from MySQL to file, then use external table on the file as the staging, see the post below which has an ODI LKM to go MySQL to file (its possible to build a MySQL to Oracle data movement LKM which unloads, transfers and creates the external table with not much more work);

I configure successfully the physical and logical Hyperion essbase on Topology Manager, and got the ESSBASE structure of BASIC app DEMO.

Hi ethan.....
U always need a driver to be present inside ur <ODI installation directory>\drivers folder.....for both the target and the source......Because ojdbc14.jar is the driver for oracle already present inside the drivers folder ....we don't have to do anything for it.....But for Essbase ...you need a driver......If u haven't already done this.....try this.....

How to load data from oracle table to XML using ODI ?

Hello Team
I am trying to load data from an oracle table to an xml file. I have configured the physical and the logical schemas for the same. I have used SQL to SQL as LKM and SQL to SQL Append as IKM with Sunopsis Memory Engine as staging area.
After this, when I am executing the interface, it is executed without any errors but to my surprise I am not finding the relevant data in the xml file. What could be the reason ?
Please look into this and lemme know how to solve it.

Can someone tell me please how to Extract Data from (Financial Reporting in) Hyperion Planning & Budgeting into Excel Using ODI?
Would the steps be the same as Creating an ODI Project and Interface: Exporting a Flat File to a Flat File? If not, why?

Where do you think the financial reports get their data from? Financial Reports pull data from data sources such as Essbase, HFM.

We are planning to perform a test R3load system Copy Export and Import.
Source version ; oracle 8.1.7
OS; Solaris 8
R/3 4.6C
Target version ; oracle 10.2
OS; Solaris 10
R/3 4.6C
Actually I'm performing an upgrade to ECC 6 using Unix and oracle 8.1.7 using R3Load.
For ECC 6 it's mandatory to upgrade to Oracle 10.
Instead of upgrading the oracle from 8.1.6 --> 9.2.0 --> 10.2.0 step by step, can I just install Oracle 10 and import the files using R3Load?
Also kindly refer me some relevant Notes / Installation Guides.

yes - that works.
The easiest way would be to install a 46D_EX2 kernel and use the instantclient instead of the Oracle 9.2 client with the standard 46D kernel.
Apart from that it should be pretty straightforward.

I am a university student and using ODI for my final project on real-time data warehousing. I am trying to load data from MS SQL Server 2000 into Oracle 10g target table. Everything goes fine until I execute the interface for the initial load. When I choose the CKM Oracle(Create unique index on the I$ table) km, the following step fails:

I am using a surrogate key column in my target table alongwith the natural key. The natural key is populated by the primary key of my source table, but for the surrogate key, I have created a sequence in my oracle schema where the target table exists and have used the following code for mapping:

I have chosen to execute this code on target.
Among my attempts to solve this problem was to set Create Index option of the CKM Oracle(Create Index for the I$ Table) to No so that it wont create any index on the flow table. I also tried to use the simple CKM Oracle km . Both solutions allowed the interface to execute successfully without any errors, but the data was not loaded into the target table.
When I right-click on the Prj_Dim_Region data store and choose Data, it shows empty. Pressing the SQL button in this data store shows a dialog box " New Query" where I see this query:

I have one Oracle data model with 19 source tables and one SQL Server data model with 10 target tables. I have created 10 interfaces which use JournalizedDataOnly on one of the tables in the interface; e.g in interface for DimCustomer target table, I have 2 tables, namely Customer and Address, but the journalizing filter appear only on Customer table and this option is disabled for Address automatically.
Now I want to create a package using OdiWaitForLog event detection. Is it possible to put all these 10 interfaces in just one package to populate the target tables? It works fine when I have only one interface and I use the name of one table in the interface for Table Name parameter of OdiWaitForLogData event, but when I try a comma seperated list of table names[Customer, Address] this error happens

and if I use this method <%=odiRef.getObjectName("L","model_code","logical_schema","D")%>, I get this error

I have upgraded sap from 46C to ECC6 with oracle 10.2.0.2 and has given the system for testing.
Current production server is on 46 with oracle 9.2.7. Complete testing is completed on the upgraded ECC version.
Now i have to move the live production server data from 4.6 sap version with oracle 9.2.7 to ECC6.

Hi folks,
I would like to sync our one table in oracle db with table in different system, stored in MS SQL database.
What would be the easiest option for connection from Oracle to MS SQL db to be able to query data from MS SQL through some Oracle package?
If possible, I would like to keep all "tricky steps" within Oracle database. I heard about option with Java, but so far we have no experience with java in Oracle.

Are you getting an error? The way you have it set up, you can have an error and it will never be displayed. Put and error control on your front panel and see what it gives you. Also, shared variables in a project can be useful. Look at some examples for that.

I am currently working on Database migration from sql server 7 to oracle 8.1.7.
My setup is as follows:
1. Both the databases (sql server and oracle are on the same machine )
2. My sql server database contains 200 tables and 190 stored procedures, which need to be migrated to oracle.
When i am trying to capture the Source database details, its capturing evry thing but when its mapping at the end ...it says "MAPPING ROLE PUBLIC" and its not proceeding furthur..What do u want me to do ? i waited for approx 1 hr , still its not proceeding....How to resolve this bug ?
Also please suggest me the best methodology for Migrating the stored procedures. allmost all my stored procedures have TEMP Tables implemented in it. Please help me in this...
Also please let me know the Timeframe estimate for this total thing to be done..

You can connect to Oracle from Excel directly. I know you can read data but am not sure if you can export data.
Other option is to import the data into Access.

The view is likely to be broken - recompiling it may help.
The Oracle schema is created using a .sql file - see under generated in the directory you gave originally in the wizard. There is a .out file that contains the result of running this script including any errors. During conversion there are also likely to be warnings displayed on the UI.
There may be a single issue that is causing multiple issues - if viewa depends on functionb, and functionb is broken, viewa will also fail.
