DataSocket+OPC+Siemens=can't add item.

I'm working on different OPC servers and
I'm able to connect to most of them without a problem (using DataSockets
as well as OPC Data Access Automation
Interface v.2.02). So, my DataSocket example works fine for National Instruments
OPC servers,and ICONICS servers,and others but only for Siemen's
"Softing OPC Sample Server" and "OPC.SimanticNET" I get a "can't create item
error" or "cant
add group error" when I OPEN connection.
The connection works fine if I use other
methods then DataSockets or If I use
other server.
Does anybody know why is that?

You didn't mention what version of DataSocket you are using. Upgrading to
DataSocket version 3.0 should fix this problem. (If you are a ComponentWorks
user, check out www.ni.com/mstudio for upgrade information or to download
eval software)

Error -2147467259, can't add item to OPC Server

I am using a DataSocket connection to read/write through an OPC Server (GE SRTP) to PLC software (PME). Everything works fine on my 2 different development PC's in my office, both in .vi form, and executable. I have distributed my executable on our network, and 2 of the 4 PC's we use to test product work fine. The other 2 PC's have the same problem, error -2147467259, can't add item to OPC server. When the OPC Server is called by LabVIEW, it launches successfully, but immediatly shows the 'can't add item to OPC Server'. I believe that it has to do with the registry. I registered the opcproxy.dll, and it still fails. LabVIEW 7.1, Windows XP machines.

I would like to echo Sam's inquiry about launching the OPC server outside of LabVIEW and verifying that it can be connected to. Also, under what user name is the OPC server being launched? Sometimes you can run into trouble if the user name is not the current user logged onto the system, but I haven't heard of it causing this error. You can see what user launched the service under Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Services. You can verify the default user running the application by going to Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Component Services and navigating to Component Services >> Computers >> My Computer >> DCOM Config Right click on your DCOM server and select Properties. Then go to the Identity tab and make sure The Interactive User is selected.

Virtual keyboard's context-menu: can users add items to it?

iPad's virtual keyboard has a context-menu: when you hold a finger down on the -a- key of the English keyboard, for example, a context-menu appears showing various accented/combining forms of the character -a- from which you can choose. Is there a way for users to add items to this context-menu? Could one add [ð] [u00F0, 'Latin eth'] to the [d] key's context-menu and [þ] [u00FE, 'Latin thorn'] to the [t] key's context-menu?

Unless there is a keyboard language that already supports those characters, then no. You cannot add additional options to the built-in keyboard. There are apps that extend the keyboard, one in particular is the Wolfram Alpha app. While I don't know if it supports the characters you are looking for, it does have an extensive variable based keyboard for input in addition to the system keyboard.

Can not add items to the dock

I can not add icons to the dock, I am able SOMETIMES to edit the dock (moving icons around or delete them), there is no rule, sometimes I can grab the icon on the dock, and sometimes I just can't (I have the pop up when I can't) , I deleted users/username/library/preferences/com.apple.dock.plist and issued a killall dock command, with no difference.

The Dock did not return to default on that command?
Try again and also delete username/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
If it's still no-go create a new User go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> "+" (make it an admin acct) and test the Dock in this new account, if it works the problem is isolated to your User and not systemwide.
Let us know.
EDIT: Also are you running any enhancement software?

Can you add items to your iPad from your iTunes library through home sharing?

Sorry I'm a novice to this.
Say I have a video in my iTunes library and I would like to add it to my iPad so I can watch it when I'm not at home without hooking the iPad up to my PC and syncing.
Can I do this through home sharing?

Sorry, I miss-typed in my previous post. I meant to say you can't use homesharing to transfer content. (dictation got it wrong, but I should have checked). In order to transfer content from your iTunes library to your iPad, you would need to connect it to your computer via USB or Wi-Fi if you have Wi-Fi syncing enabled.
To enable Wi-Fi syncing you must first connect your iPad to your computer with the USB cable and then turn Wi-Fi syncing on in the settings within iTunes.

My sister has a new laptop and new dongle - can surf, add items to baskets but can't make the actual purchase, it eventually times out. It's on various sites, eg paypal, Amazon, Next - what settings can I advise her to try changing?

She is using Windows 7 and is on 3 for her internet connection. She used her old laptop and dongle without any problem (they both broke within a few days of each other).

Users can't add items to their agendas - Module errors

There was a server crash recently and now some users are getting errors when
they try to connect or make any updates to their Calendar. Some of the errors
that are getting displayed to a pop up box are:

"Module agenda fr.cpp label 4334" 
"Module agenda vw.cpp label 124,service error #0x13201"

Whenever the server is abruptly shutdown, there is the likely probability that
there has been some database corruption, especially when errors start appearing
on the client. 
There is a tool, called /users/unison/bin/unidbfix that will need to be executed
when the server is down that will clean up the database. Please refer to the
Calendar Server Administrators Guide for details on this command, as it should
be used VERY CAREFULLY.

If problems still persist afterwards, check which version of the tool that you
are using: 
# unidbfix -v 
A.01.20 
and contact Technical Support with this information and the dbfix.log that the
tool creates.

Can not add Exceptions to Transparent proxy

Hello all,
I am sure this is simple but I can not figure out what has changed to cause this. Currently, I can not add items to the exception list in HTTP Transparent Proxy.
I only see refresh and close buttons on the screen - no Apply changes.
I have 2 BM servers and one I have access to without issues but the other does not work.
It definitely worked at some point in time because it has 25 entries but has since stopped.
What am I missing?

DataGrid - Create at runtime - How to Add Items??

I create a DataGrid at runtime and then and columns to it as need be. How Can I add items with the correct dataField if I don't if I don;t know this till runtime? In other word I'm having trouble constructing the Object to send to AddItem becase the dataField Name needs to be hard coded...
Below does not work for me because if I have more than one column then I can seem to figure out out to create ItemObjFinal dynnamically.

How can I add new sites to the "Most Visited"-Latest Headlines baqr?

In Windows XP I had a bar in Firefox where I could add frequently accessed sites such as news websites and brokerages.

Latest Headlines is a RSS Live feed and such feeds show a list that is retrieved from a website via an XML file.
You can't add items from or remove items from such a list.
"Most Visited" and "Recently Bookmarked" are examples of the so called [[Smart Bookmarks folders]] and are not real existing folders.
Such smart folders show a list created by a query of the places.sqlite database that stores the bookmarks and the history in Firefox 3.
The bookmarks that show up in such smart folder listing are stored elsewhere in another folder and any changes made are applied to the real bookmark or history item.
Such lists show a maximum of 10 entries by default and you add a new bookmark or visit a website then a new item is added at the top and the entry at the bottom disappears from that list.
The items that are removed from the list are not gone, but merely do not show up anymore in that list.
You can open a bookmark from such a list in a tab and click the star on the location bar or use the Bookmark menu item 'Bookmark This Page' to see the location (folder) and edit the properties of the bookmark (name, location, folder) and move it to another folder or remove the bookmark.

Cant add items to group

I create a new group and an arrow appears next to it (it doesn't have an arrow next to the other groups) and I try and drag events to the group and the events don't get added. I have 7 groups already that are working fine, it is just when I add a new group that the arrow pops up (like it is expandable) and I can't add items to this new group.

Click on the group in question and go to File > New Calendar > On My Mac. Does a new calendar appear?

Groups do not hold events. They hold calendars. You don't drag events to Groups, you drag Events to calendars.
See if that works.

How can i add to a listBox items near in a new column other items ?

The items on the right i changed the property of the listBox1 righttoleft to Yes.
My problem is i want to build a new column for the number so each number i'm adding will be next on the left to the belong item string. And not under it like now.

If you want columns, you should consider a
ListView or

and this only allows you to change existing lines not add lines.
Since its outboud delivery that I'm interested in I will not look at the inbound that you suggested.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
