Hi Guys,
I have few columns in my database which contains non public information like customer account no ,customer ssn, customer tin.So the requirement comes from the field to encrypt the data while storing ,So could any one please tell me the proper dataptyes to store the encrupted data except the raw type.we are storing password in the raw datatype.
Please share me some thoughts .
Many many thanks in advance.
I am using oracle 11g

Do you want to share secrets, even when encrypted, with strangers?
Does that mean those with proper access to the data, use decryption in the database and then get the unencrypted private data send to them via a public and non-encrypted network link?
How is access secured for those allowed access to private data?
There is much more to security than simply storing data, on disk, in encrypted format.
As always, requirements are important. What are they? Are they documented? Do they contain measurables and fixed goal posts?

  • Enable Garnishment Principle of Origin (EP) for NON-public sector

    Hi all.
Does anyone have experience or knows a best-practice approach to enable the Principle of-Origin in the DE-Payroll garnishment section (Pfändung Entstehungsprinzip) for NON- public sector? Our payroll payroll and legal department do want to change from "Zufluss-" to "Entstehungsprinzip".
All relevant schemas  do only exist in the main schema for the public sector (D100) but not in the non-public sectior (D000).
Thanks for any hints or comments.

In order to resolve this issue. Please replace the below listed command
aaa authentication login admin group tacacs+ local enable
    with;
aaa authentication login default group admin local enable
You defined the server group name as method list and instead of using admin as a server-group, you used tacacs+
Note: Please ensure you have local user and enable password configured in case of tacacs server unreachable.

  • Scalability of Business Catalyst for non public domain use.

I have a client looking for a CMS setup that would be more like an intranet than a website, but it seems that all levels of subscription for BC have no more than 10 users as a limit. Is there a version that would allow significantly more? The traffic to said site would not be public domain available, a sign in would be necessary for all users.  Also, there would need to be fairly robust security and e-commerce functionality, are both possible? We are looking at as many as 2000 users to start, with more possible as the business model progresses. Also needs the ability to integrate video without embedding youtube or vimeo videos, it would need to be served from the same server as the site for security reasons. Need as much info as possible in this regard.

You could build a website with 2,000 frontend users. The 10 users as part of the plan are users for the backend. IE: Users who can see statistics, edit the site, etc. .
It sounds like secure zones are what you are looking for. You could make your entire site a secure zone and have a person login via username and password.
BC can also handle video without issue (though the video files must be less than 100mb in size.)  I will mention that Vimeo and other services have paid plans that allow you to lock a video so it is only viewable at a specified location and not to the public.
Ecommerce BC handles without issue. As for "robust security" what do you consider robust security. I consider BC very secure and is part of the reason I use BC.

  • HT2731 I have a student who is trying to set up an account however it is asking for Credit Card information.  The choice of NONE does not appear as an option with the credit cards.  Any assistance?

I have a student trying to set up an App Store account (she has an Apple ID), however she is being asked for credit card information.  The option of NONE does not appear as one of the choices with the other credit cards.
    Any assistance?

There are instrctions on this page for how to create a new account (it won't work with existing account) without giving a credit card number : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534 e.g. select a free app in the store and click on 'create Apple id' when 'buying' it.

  • HT2534 Why isn't there a 'none' option for my payment information?

I have a debit card on my iTunes account and I added it a while ago. Now it is saying that my security code isn't valid so I just want to get my debit card off of my iTunes account COMPLETELY. My problem is that I can't find the 'none' option for payment method information. HELP ME PLEAASE!! "/

For the security code issue, try here >  iTunes Store: My credit card's security code or zip code does not match my bank's records
The None option is available from the iTunes Edit Payment Information window.
With iTunes open, from the menu bar top of your screen click Store > Sign In
Now go back to the menu bar click Store > View My Account. Enter your password click View Account.
Now click Edit to the right of Payment Type.
Be aware, the None option is not available in all countries.

  • OTO information not complete for non ABAP instance of system &1 in SMSY

    Hello,
We have just applied Stack 23 and stack 24 to our Solution Manager system.  When we are executing action System Logon from  a ticket we are getting the following error:
OTO information not complete for non ABAP instance of system &1 in SMSY
We checked that this new message was created in note Note 1427761 - ChaRM: incorrect target system for action "System Logon".
We went to the SMY transaction to the Product System definition for our system but we could not find which OTO information is missing there, where to load it, etc.
    We appreciate your help.
    Regards
    Esteban Hartzstein

    Hello,
We have not applied the note separately, but we applied the support packages, so all the changes were applied, and therefore we are getting this error message  of "OTO information is not complete ....
We have updated as suggested the info regarding the system in the SMSY.  We have read the Remote System Data.
We will run SOLMAN_SETUP again to review the setup, and then test again
We appreciate also if you provide any additional input.

  • I am trying to set up an account without a credit card. When I get to the screen which asks for credit card information, 'none' is not an option. Why not?

I am trying to set up an iTunes account without a credit card. However when I get to the screen that asks for credit card information, 'none' is not an option.  According to the instructions on the website, that should be an option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for the response,
Yes, I followed the instructions to the letter. But it asks for credit information anyway and 'none' is supposed to be an option when setting up an account 'with no credit card'.
I have two new iphones, the first one set up as expected, where 'none' was an option. Now that I'm attempting to set up the second with different information, there is no 'none', only Mastercard,Visa, AmerX, Discover and Paypal.

  • IllegalAccessError when trying to create a proxy for a non-public interface

My code proxies a class that extends JDialog. Under Java5 this works fine. However when I switch to Java6 I get a java.lang.IllegalAccessError: class javax.swing.$Proxy3 cannot access its superinterface javax.swing.TransferHandler$HasGetTransferHandler exception.
I went through debugging my code to find out what went wrong. I created the included test code that shows the problem (and because the real codebase is much too big to include here).

I think there must be some classloading issue when trying to access the non-public interface javax.swing.TransferHandler$HasGetTransferHandler in rt.jar.
I can not figure out what is different between my own non-public interface and Swing's javax.swing.TransferHandler$HasGetTransferHandler.
    Any help would be appreciated.

I don't agree completely. What you're telling is true, don't get me wrong. It's the Error that I get from Java that troubles me.
To resolve the classloading question, I changed my code as follows:
    package javax.swing;
    import java.lang.reflect.Proxy;
    import java.util.ArrayList;
    import java.util.Collection;
    import org.apache.commons.lang.ArrayUtils;

Remark that Java tells me that JDialog's classloader is null. Strange, isn't is?
However I get an IllegalAccessError when I try to proxy TransferHandler$HasGetTransferHandler from my own classloader.
Any reason why the error is different?

  • App rejected due to non-public api's

    Hi,
My App rejected due to non-public api's.
    Apple's Comments:
    2.5: Apps that use non-public
"We found that your app uses one or more non-public APIs, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines. The use of non-public APIs is not permissible because it can lead to a poor user experience should these APIs change.
We found the following non-public API/s in your app:
_updateView (I have the method name like "_updateView" in my source, can I change the name of the method. Is it works ? )
If you have defined methods in your source code with the same names as the above-mentioned APIs, we suggest altering your method names so that they no longer collide with Apple's private APIs to avoid your application being flagged in future submissions.
Additionally, one or more of the above-mentioned APIs may reside in a static library included with your application. If you do not have access to the library's source, you may be able to search the compiled binary using "strings" or "otool" command line tools. The "strings" tool can output a list of the methods that the library calls and "otool -ov" will output the Objective-C class structures and their defined methods. These techniques can help you narrow down where the problematic code resides."
And in my application, I am using the FBConnect, SDWebImage library,  and Twitter+oAuth api's. These are non-public api's ? Now, can I integrate Jira (Crash Reporter) to my application? Can anybody solve my issue......
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rajesh Kumar Yandamuri

I have the same problem what to do with below points from the apple.
Requires help plz help me my app rejected two times with this points.
We found that your app uses one or more non-public APIs, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines. The use of non-public APIs is not permissible because it can lead to a poor user experience should these APIs change.
We found the following non-public API/s in your app:
    _tearDown
If you have defined methods in your source code with the same names as the above-mentioned APIs, we suggest altering your method names so that they no longer collide with Apple's private APIs to avoid your application being flagged in future submissions.
Additionally, one or more of the above-mentioned APIs may reside in a static library included with your application. The "strings" tool can output a list of the methods that the library calls and "otool -ov" will output the Objective-C class structures and their defined methods. These techniques can help you narrow down where the problematic code resides.
We appreciate that you may have made the precautions in your code for using non-public APIs, however, there is no way to accurately or completely predict how an API may be modified and what effects those modifications may have. For this reason, we do not permit the use of non-public APIs in App Store apps.
If there are no alternatives for providing the functionality your app requires, we encourage you to file an enhancement request. Or, try working with the Apple Developer Technical Support team to explore alternative solutions.
On occasion, there may be apps on the App Store that don't appear to be in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines. We work hard to ensure that the apps on the App Store are in compliance and we try to identify any apps currently on the App Store that may not be. It takes time to identify these occurrences but another app being out of compliance is not a reason for your app to be.
For discrete code-level questions, you may wish to consult with Apple Developer Technical Support. Please be sure to:
    - include the complete details of your rejection issues
    - prepare any symbolicated crash logs, screenshots, and steps to reproduce the issues for when the DTS engineer follows up.
For information on how to symbolicate and read a crash log, please see Tech Note TN2151 Understanding and Analyzing iPhone OS Application Crash Reports.
If you have difficulty reproducing this issue, please try testing the workflow as described in  <https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/qa/qa1764/>Testing Workflow with Xcode's Archive feature".

  • RDP using Smartcard fails with NLA for non-domain members

We have to administer Windows 2008 R2 servers which are in domains we are not members of - typically domains that support a particular application. We have DoD smartcards (CAC) and we admin from our Windows 7 desktops. If we disable NLA, we can CAC-authenticate
over RDP just fine. With NLA enabled, though, we get "The remote computer you are trying to connect to requires NLA but your Windows domain controller cannot be contacted to perform NLA".
My assumption would be that the Win7 desktops would never know where the particular ADCs are, since we're not domain members, but that they actually need to verify the DoD root cert that signed our CAC. Said root cert has been installed on our desktops and
on the servers in the domains.
What is necessary to get NLA with smart cards working for non-domain members?
Edit: With NLA enabled I *can* connect over RDP from one of the domain members to another, so this really seems specific to the non-member desktop settings and how it performs NLA

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
If you use the credential SSP on Windows Vista or Windows 7 to log on with a smart card from a computer that is not joined to a domain, the smart card must contain the root certification of the domain controller. A public key infrastructure (PKI) secure channel
cannot be established without the root certification of the domain controller.
You can use following command for adding certificate.
    certutil –addstore –enterprise NTAUTH <CertFile>
Where <CertFile> is the root certificate of the KDC certificate issuer.
    More information.

  • Is SRM 6.0 (SRM 2007) released for non-ramp up customers?

    Hi Guys,
Anyone knows if SRM 6.0 is now available on the market for non-ramp up customers? If not any ideas when it will be ready?
    Thanks

    Hi,
In adition to this dates, here is the official letter :
    "PUBLIC Information about SRM 6.0
This note is intended to help the SAP field answer customer inquiries concerning the delayed shipment of SAP Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) release 6.0.
    Reasons for the delay
SAP SRM 6.0 is a big step forward for SRM: SRM 6.0 is the first SAP software to rely on the new user interface technology WebDynpro and the Web Application Server, rather than the previous ITS. It is also based on the completely new business rule framework (BRF) to define approval workflows. These changes are intended to improve usability and simplify workflow administration / customization, leading to better acceptance and lower TCO for our customers. However, the move to these new technologies is also a complex change and as a result, the product has experienced delays.
With our most recent development milestone - service pack 2 in mid-July 2007 - we have made lots of progress towards completion; however, we estimated that the product was still not yet ready for Ramp-Up. As a result, we decided to release the product only in beta shipment and to a very limited set of customers (14 in total) who are being closely monitored by our development organization. Seven of these customers are actually planning to go live on the current beta shipment.
Based on the progress made so far with Service Pack 2, we feel that we should be able to start the official Ramp-Up process on December 10th, 2007 - the target ship date for Service Pack 03. By that time, we should already have 3+ live customers, so new customers starting their projects will benefit from the experiences acquired from previous implementations.
    Time plan and Recommendations
    1. Ideally, we recommend that new and upgrade SRM customers wait for the start of Ramp-Up for SRM 6.0 SP03 (Dec 10th, 2007) rather than starting a project with the previous release SRM 5.0. SRM 6.0 offers many benefits compared to SRM 5.0 and should be easier to use + maintain. An Online scoping questionnaire will be available from mid October in the SAP Service Marketplace as usual.
    2. The number of Beta shipment customers is strictly limited and therefore we do not intend to ship Service Pack 2 to any additional customers besides the 14 customers currently in Beta.
    3. Implementation partners can request a demo license of the current support package 2 in the partner portal. They can set up their sandbox systems and familiarize with the new technology upfront before they enter into customer projects from Dec. 10.
Should you have any further questions please contact your local SAP account executive
    Kind regards,
    Yann

  • How to deploy non public App

We have a public iPhone app, to be used by the general public, and we also have an iPad App (we call it the business owner Portal) that has little meaning for the public. When a business signs up with us, they get a password to use the Portal for accessing their business information.
What is the usual way to deal with such non-public Apps (our Portal App)? Is there a way to get this App approved by Apple but distributed via some URL other than the App store?  Our Portal is not secret or anything, but since it is not usable by the general public it will not make any sense for people to find it without first talking to us.
I would appreciate your guidance or some pointers to further information.
    Thank you.

    thank you for the link.
I am reading it...  there is a dead link to a page for private distribution.. what I was looking for

But I am getting the general idea.

  • What is your solution for getting public transportation in map? Actually my iphone is useless for me because it hasn't a public transportation map.

what is your solution for getting public transportation in map? Actually my iphone is useless for me because it hasn't a public transportation map.

This has been a huge problem for me too. I was actually late to work yesterday and wanted to throw my phone out the window of the bus that I finally was able to find. I'm new to Portland, so this suddenly missing feature is particularly problematic. It really is so hard to avoid getting angry, I just can't believe they would eliminate a feature that people rely on so heavily. But anger doesn't do any good so I'm trying my hardest to stay calm and figure out an acceptable solution while Apple works to restore this feature - at least I pray to God that that's what they aim to do. Here are the apps that I've been trying, I'll try to explain how they work and maybe they will work for you. This is going to be a long post, but I'm hoping some people will find it helpful.
I'll start with the most obvious of all - adding Google Maps to your homescreen. Every time you launch the app you will get a diaologue prompting you to allow Google Mpas to use your location, and then you will be in an environment that looks similiar to what we are used to. It does not integrate with your contact list, so one workaround I've been using is going to my contacts and holding my finger on an address to copy it to the clipboard. Be aware that leaving this web app will lose whatever you're looking at and go back to the start, so best to do this before you launch it. You'll notice some strange behavior - for instance the drop down menu of suggested locations will apear and then quickly disaprear, so just ignore this. Often it will often unexpectadly scroll to the top for some reason when you're trying to do something towards the bottom. Haven't figured out a fix except for trying to not get flustered and doing things slowly and deliberately. It's not as quick as we're used to anyway so this is not hard to do. If you'd like to see any of the suggested routes on a map you can do this by clicking the small 'Map View' link. Just be aware that you can only do this once or you will have to type in your starting an ending points again, as there is no way to go back to the list you were just looking at once you are in map view. One thing that I have found helpful about the Google maps method is when looking at a route, whether in list or map view, you can see the stop ID right there, which is helpful if your city has a way to check real-time arrivals. For instance here in Portland you can text this stop ID to a certain number and immediately receive real-time arrivals.
The app I've been using most is called 'Transit'. It's pretty beautiful aesthetically, and the UI is simpler than anything else I've come across, which is convenient for a task that you want to accomplish as quickly as possible so you can put away your phone and be on your way. When you first launch it you're presented with three bus routes that stop near your current location. It tells you which direction the route is headed and in how many minutes the next bus is scheduled to arrive. This is helpful if you are familiar with that particular busline, otherwise there's no indication of where the line will take you. Upon clicking a line, you're presented with three buttons (again, loving the simplicity). One reverses the direction of that same busline. One expands the list of times so you can quicly see all the arrival times for that bus route at that particular stop for the entire day. The other takes you to map view and quickly displays the location of this stop. And here's the best feature of all (!!), it shows you the busline as a blue line and every single stop is marked with a circle. You can click on a circle and it displays the expected arrival time at that stop. This is all very helpful in some circumstances, but of course it does not let you type in a destination and have it build a route for you, and if you'll be transferring to another line this will not help you at all. To accomplish this you press the arrow in the lower left where you can type in a starting point, ending point, and an arrival/departure time. And this DOES reference your contact list. It will then allow you to quickly switch between three routes that it selects. It also searches Maps (actually it says 'Powered by Foursquare' for landmarks/establishments. For instance if I type in 'sushi', I'm presented with a handful of sushi joints in my area. There is a bug in this app where sometimes the 'Route' button is missing and you can only resolve this by leaving the app and quitting the process in the multitasking trail. When it builds your route, you can click on any point of transfer and it will tell you what time that bus/train is leaving. There is no list view, but personally I never found list view very helpful anyway. I know some people will disagree though.
Now I'll talk about HopStop. This is a kind of clunky interface unfortunately, and also has ads which I can't stand. It is able to reference your contact list. My least favorite thing about this app is the list it gives you is so excessively long-winded it's hilarious. Every single stop along the route is listed in this list view, so you'll be scrolling through literally dozens of pages of useless information like 'Pass such-and-such - 1 min. Pass such-and-such - 1 min. Pass such and such - 2 min.' Oh well. The good news is on this insanely long list, it indicates when you are supposed to do something other than sit patiently in your seat by having an icon to the left of that instruction - either a person walking or a bus number. When you switch to list view unfortunately it no longer displays departure times, so you'll have to be switching betwen maps and list view. One great feature of this app is it lets you save routes to your favorite list. It also lets you find bus stops and quickly see what bus lines hit those stops. I can't stand the flashing advertisements, so I avoid using this at all costs.
On to 'City Maps'. Again, the first thing you will see is a short list of bus lines that hit the stop nearest to you. Tap on one and it shows you the next three departures in either direction, as well as the distance between your current location and the stop in question. This app also searches for restaurants and such, but takes this feature on step further. Here when I type in 'sushi' and select a restaurant, I'm brought to a page that links to the Yelp, Foursquare, and Facebook pages associated with it - even has a link that takes you directly to the menu if Foursquare has it. Awesome feature, right?? Tap on 'Map' and it immediately displays the location and an option to build a few routes. It always displays the walking route below the bus lines to give you a sense of how long it would take (even if it's a two hour walk). Clicking on a bus route on this list takes you to list view. Unfortunately this also displays a deluge of pointess turns that only the bus driver need worry about, but it's not as bad as HopStop. There's an optional feature where it can display Google Street View images right in this list view, if you think that could be helpful. With one tap it quickly switches to a very aesthetically pleasig map view. There's an update button that lets you immediately refresh directions, edit starting/ending points, or give it new directions altogether.
I'm sure in just a moment someone will come along and say something insulting about how we're blowing things out of proportion. I guess that's just the nature of trolls - a lot of people find being angry on forums while hiding behind their screen names cathartic for obvious reasons. Let's all of us just do our best to ignore these people and keep this discussion diplomatic and oriented towards helpful solutions. I know none of us want to give up our beloved iPhones, I'm only considering it as a last resort.

  • How to allow access to winrs for non-admin user?

I have Windows Server 2012 (and Server 2008, but it is next priority) to monitor it using txwinrm. txwinrm library internally is using WinRS protocol. I have to monitor it using least privileged user, but don't know how to configure access for him.
All I managed to do - is to configure remote Powershell session for my user, but it's look like that winrs and powershell sessions have different security descriptors:
    Invoke-Command -ComputerName 192.168.173.206 -Credential (credential Administrator $pwd) -ScriptBlock { 2 + 2}
    # gives 4
    Invoke-Command -ComputerName 192.168.173.206 -Credential (credential lpu1 $pwd) -ScriptBlock { 2 + 2}
    # gives 4
    winrs -r:192.168.173.206 -u:Administrator -p:$pwd 'powershell -command "2+2"'
    # gives 4
    winrs -r:192.168.173.206 -u:lpu1 -p:$pwd 'powershell -command "2+2"'
    # Gives Winrs error: Access is denied.
Configuration for my user is following:
    (Get-Item WSMan:\localhost\Service\RootSDDL).value
    # O:NSG:BAD:P(A;;GA;;;BA)(A;;GA;;;S-1-5-21-3231263931-1371906242-1889625497-1141)S:P(AU;FA;GA;;;WD)(AU;SA;GWGX;;;WD)
    (Get-PSSessionConfiguration -name Microsoft.Powershell).SecurityDescriptorSddl
    # O:NSG:BAD:P(A;;GA;;;BA)(A;;GA;;;S-1-5-21-3231263931-1371906242-1889625497-1149)S:P(AU;FA;GA;;;WD)(AU;SA;GXGW;;;WD)
(In each security descriptor my user is given general access to protected object).
So what security descriptor should I set to make my winrs query work for non-admin user?

    Hi Bunyk,
I can not recreate the erroe you posted, and please also post the screenshoot in your convenience.
I tested with a non-domain user but has the local admin permission of the remote computer, and this worked, before running the remote cmdlet in powershell, I also configured the TrustedHosts.
In addition, the access denied could be also caused to the Protocol Filtering on the remote server, for more detailed information, please refer to this thread:
    winrs error:access is denied
    I hope this helps.
