Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
. Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore.
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Automatic file generation using system date and time
Hi guys,
Iam trying to generate a path for file creation automatically using System date and time. I am running into errors with respect to special characters in filename. I am trying to parse the string to get date and time without the '/' and ':' but have not been successful. is there a better way to do it? Please help! I am trying to avoid a dialog box for user to enter a filename.
Thanks!

I may not be perfect, but I'm all I got!
Solved!
Go to Solution.here is a little experiment .... building the path out of %m (month) %d (day) %(year) type stuff might help.

Not able to adjust Date and Time
For about a month now I haven't been able to manually adjust the time and date. Everything else on my iPod works fine... but when I click to change time and date it just goes black for about one second then goes back to the main menu. I don't think anything has been added to it that is unsafe.. but to be sure I scanned all my folders that are on my iPod and then scanned my entire computer. Nothing came up in the scan.
I do have the most up to date version of the software that is out.
It currently says that it is Friday, February 23, 2007 at 5:33pm. It changed it's time and date on it's own... I can't correct it.
So if anyone knows how to fix this please tell me how.I am having a similar problem. The time is off by 12 hours exactly (ahead). When I touch date and time, screen goes black for less than a second and then reverts to main screen with all of the icons. I have first generation touch and just noticed this problem. All of the software is up to date. Any one know of a fix for this?

Not able to adjust date and time - format does not permit
Hello,
I just scanned one old photo as a JPG and then imported it to Aperture 2, I renamed the file 1976-07-01_01.jpg based on the date the pic was taken. Then I tried to adjust the date and time in Aperture but got this error window:
"Unable to adjust master file
Aperture was not able to adjust the date and time of the master file "pic.jpg" because it has a format that does not permit date modification."
What next?I am having a similar problem. The time is off by 12 hours exactly (ahead). When I touch date and time, screen goes black for less than a second and then reverts to main screen with all of the icons. I have first generation touch and just noticed this problem. All of the software is up to date. Any one know of a fix for this?

I can't get the date and time to set up on the Apple TV, how can I fix this problem? I tried restarting and that's not helping.
Hi Jhoana82,
Welcome to the Support Communities!
I would suggest you unplug the Apple TV for thirty seconds to restart it, then restore it to the factory settings.
Click on the links below for more details and screenshots ...
Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation): How to restart your Apple TV
You can also reset your Apple TV by unplugging it from the power source for thirty seconds.
Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation): Restoring your Apple TV
On Apple TV, choose Settings > General > Reset, and then click Restore.
Your Apple TV will restore to its factory settings, and will also download and install the latest Apple TV software update. This process may take some time. Do not disconnect your Apple TV's power cable during the restore process.
I hope you are back up and running with your Apple TV soon!

I am in the process of updating my apple tv and it seems to be stuck on updating date and time.
Is your Apple TV connected to a Wi-Fi network and does it have a valid IP address?
You can find some general info about connecting it to the Internet here -> Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation): Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections -
When I start my Apple TV it won't complete the setting data and time prompt when it starts up. The wireless network is a full strength and connected. Everytime i try to type my apple user name and password to start home sharing it says that I have one or the either inncorrect. I've typed it a milion times in the past and to double check i logged out of itunes on the comp and logged back in, so i know i got it right.
anyone else have this problem?Morning spencer.chrisj,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
You can resolve many Wi-Fi issues by checking your network connection settings.
For more information on this, take a look at this article:

Cannot get pass the "Setting date and time" screen
Hi, I am faced with a very serious problem... someone please help!
I bought home an Apple TV (2nd generation) for my parent overseas, but when I switched on - it got stuck on "Setting date and time" screen and cannot continue. Pressing "menu" button (or hold on for many seconds) does not work at all! I am stuck in that screen. Restart the Apple TV does not helped.
I thought it is the issue of the remote control (maybe "menu" key has failed), so I bought another one (the aluminum model) and the same issue persists! I tested the remote control on Mac (boot up and press menu key, using Better Touch Tool... both shows the menu key is working).
What shall I do? Thanks!is it connected to the internet either wired or wirelessly

Iit is setting date and time but keeps going in circle . but never sets up
Try to use apple tv. But when turn it on. It is setting Date and time? But the cursur is just going around and around and nothing happen for a while. It doesnt set the time or date, so can watch apple tv.?why?
I have had this frustrating problem twice. Combinations of resets, restores, restarts of routers etc have been generally unsuccessful.
My Apple TV2 has full internet connectivity (through a internet cable, connected to a D-Link gigabit switch, connected to a Generation 4 Apple Time Capsule, connected to a high speed Comcast ARRIS modem).
The Apple TV2 works well with AirPlay, Youtube, HD movie trailers, HomeSharing music and photos, etc, but won't connect to NetFlix, allow movie rental, or allow iTunes purchased home computer programs to display due to not being conneted to an iTunes account.
And I can't connect to the iTunes store because the "time and date cannot be set".
Note that my iMac is connected to the same gigabit switch as my Apple TV2 and it can automatically set time and date, just fine. I tested by turning off the auto set, setting the wrong time, then turning it back on and having the system time and date properly reset... twice!
This time, my problem was solved by going into the Time Capsule, changine IPv6 setting from HOST to "Local Link". The Apple TV2 immediately knew the time and was able to connect to the iTunes store.
I recall that last time I "fixed" this problem, I changed that same setting from Local-Link to Host.
I agree with lagoed, Apple should fix this vexing problem, the sooner the better. -
Lost config and cant set date and time
lost config and cant set date and time apple tv less than month old
Hello there, Terriiris.
I had a similar issue and what worked for me was power cycling my wireless network and the Apple TV. However, if the issue persists, here are a couple articles that will walk you through troubleshooting this issue.
Apple TV: Basic troubleshooting
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1551
Apple TV: Troubleshooting wireless connections
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1595
If the steps in the article above do not resolve the issue, then a restore may be needed.

My Apple TV froze while trying to access Netflix. I unplugged the Apple TV from the wall and re plugged it. Now it stays on the loading time and date setting. After 10 minutes, I held menu, and hit restart (as the troubleshoot said). Same problem is still occurring with the continuous "checking for date and time". And if I hold menu to bypass this, I only have my settings and computer icon, all other icons have disappeared. Not quite sure what to do, any comments would surely help.
Thanks guys, appreciate it.
MattApple TV 1st generation or 2nd?
I would try plugging in the HDMI from the ATV to a different HDMI port on your TV and even trying the ATV on a different TV altogether...sounds like the HDMI port on your TV might be bad or a bad connection. Keep in mind you'll need to switch the TV input to the new HDMI port -
Date and Time in Sender File Adapter Target Directory
Hi there,
is there a way of using Date and Time from XI to the Target Directory naming? To use variable substitution some fields of the message had to contain that date and time information, which is not our case.
For filename you can use "add time stamp" option, but and for target directory?
Thanks and regards,
Henrique.> <i>Do you have further information on how to perform

Hi there, Moorthy
We've tried to write that shell script that you mentioned, but now we have a few doubts on how to make it create the proper directory.
In the file adapter, my target directory is "/%var1%/%var2%/", where %var1% and %var2% are variable substitutions, referencing data which comes from the payload. Now, I need the shell script to append "/<Year>/<Month>/" in the target directory. But where to archive the script? If it stays in the root directory, than how to make it create "/<Year>/<Month>/" folders inside a directory which is variable (/%var1%/%var2%/)?
Is there a way of passing %var1% and %var2% as parameters for the shell script?
Thanks a lot,
Henrique. -
Unable to insert date and time when using date datatype
Hi
I am hitting a bit of a problem when using the date datatype. When trying to save a row to the table where the field it throws an error ora 01830 and complains about converting the date format picture ends...etc. Now when I do the insert, I use the to_date function with the format of "dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi:ss". Of course, when I remove the time element, everything is perfect.
Checking sysdate, I noticed that the time element wasn't be displayed, and I used alter session set nls_date_format to set the date and time I want to save to the table, which worked!
Then based on advice in a previous thread to permanently fix the problem, I used alter system set nls_date_format ="dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi:ss" scope=spfile; This showed that it was altered, and I can see the setting in the em. In sqlplus, I shutdown the database, and restarted with startup mount; alter database open; and then selecting sysdate, it still shows the date as dd-mon-yy, and still no time! Checking the em, and looking up the nls_date_format the setting is still shown as "dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi:ss".
So, my question is this - what am I doing wrong? Why can't save date and time using date in Oracle 11g?????

ThanksYou most certainly can save the time. A DATE column, by definition stores date and time. What you describe is a presentation problem, and setting nls_date_format at the system as an init parm is the weakest of all settings as it is overridden by several other locations.
without seeing the exact sql that produced the error (not just your description of what you think you were doing) it is impossible to say for sure.
However, I'd suggest you read http://edstevensdba.wordpress.com/2011/04/07/nls_date_format/ -
DVD camcorder (VIDEO_TS) - preserve clip date and time
I had asked this question on the forums a long time ago but iMovie did not seem to be supporting it reliably at the time. But since some time has passed, I wanted to check if iMovie '09 can import clips from a mini DVD (those used in camcorders to capture video directly on to DVD media) AND preserve the clip's date and time.
What I see is that the first clip gets some date and time related to the event's date and time (perhaps the start time of the first clip?) but all the other clips which are imported, get timestamps of 1 second after that first clip's timestamp.
These are all my home videos and in order to keep each clip short, I have had the habit of pausing after about a minute or two, resulting in MANY clips over MANY DVD's, so manually updating date and time is absolutely the last resort.
The DVD player can see the clip date and time correctly, and so could the camcorder (I have since sold the darn thing!) so I know that information exists somewhere in the DVD, but it seems like iMovie is unable to "see" it.
Any help would be appreciated, including programmability hints.Thank you for your post. I figured out why iMovie was assigning today's date to everything that I imported. It turns out that many of my video files did not have a real "created" date--some had no date at all and some had Wednesday, December, 1967 or 9 (I think). iMovie defaulted today's date in both of these situations. I took your advice and ot A Better Finder Attribute and easily converted all of the files using the option to copy the "modified date" into the "created date" attribute. Now everything imports correctly into iMovie.
