DATE and TIME installation of MIDlet

Can we know DATE and TIME installation of a MIDlet on a device?
I mean, I want to know when a MIDlet was installed on a device. Can we do
it by coding?
Any explanations would be appreciated.
Thanks.

No...
At least, not the easy way. What you could do is put a timestap into the application jar file, that indicates when the midlet was downloaded. You have to make a servlet or script that updates the application jar file with a new timestap every time a user want's to download it.

• How to find the Date and time of Installation of Oracle in Windows?

Hi ,
Is there any way to find the installation Date and time of Oracle in Windows?

If you have never recreated/restored/reincarnated the database, then CREATED column from v$database should tell you when you created the database.
If you are looking for the date/time of installation of Oracle home, check the logs under OraInventory.

• Bizarre date and time hang.. Hardware or software?

Hi all, i have this totally bizarre problem that i have never seen in my 25 years of using mac's..
Since yesterday my date and time seems to hang; it doesn't really update anymore and when i hover my mouse over i get the beach ball. Also this seems to effect the system prefs, if i start that up it sometimes hangs too.. which then effects and hangs the finder.
Last night i deleted the associated plist and cages things, zapped the pram etc, no luck with this. Also disk utility showed no problems with my drive.
So today i installed a fresh new 10.6 system which did install, but the first 2 attempts getting across the welcome&register screens gave me beachballs and complete unresponsiveness too. So now after some hard restarts i'm puzzled.. Also startup and shutdown seems slow.
As far as i can tell there is no special clock battery in these things that could cause this? So anyone any ideas? Every idea is much appreciated!
Thanks, Gerben

Welcome to Apple Discussions Gerben.
Your computer is apparently early 2008. Do you have the extended Applecare warranty? If you do you could take it to the nearest Apple-authorised service centre & get it checked out.
If not, try starting in safe mode by holding the shift key until the Apple logo appears. See whether the problem is still there. If not, it's a software problem almost certainly.
However you should also disconnect all peripherals and see whether there is still a problem. If not, then it is likely one of the peripherals is the source of the problem.
Failing this insert your original installation dvd, disconnect all peripherals and restart holding the D key. This will check hardware. If any errors are reported you might need to approach service.

• Get-Hotfix InstalledOn property not returning hotfix installed Date and Time on Windows Server 2008 SP2 but works on Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

Hi,
I am working on a validation script to get the list of hotfixes installed on Domain Controllers every month as part of our monthly DC patching process. I have been successful in getting these details for DC's with (Windows Server 2008
R2 SP1, Powershell v2.0) using the below command.
Get-HotFix -cn $computer | Select-Object PSComputerName,HotFixID,Description,InstalledBy,InstalledOn | where InstalledOn -ge (Get-Date -Day 1 -Format d) | FT -AutoSize
I execute the above from a jump box with powershell v4.0 (Server 2008 R2)
However, when I try the same command from the jump box to query DC's with (Server 2008 SP2, powershell v2.0). It doesn't return the InstalledOn date and time. It was giving error for the InstalledOn property and hence I renamed it to $_.InstalledOn. Now
I don't get error but still no details displayed for InstalledOn property.
I tried using the below, as could see on few forums that this might resolve the issue. I also tried removing the "where" part but still no installation date returned.
Get-HotFix -cn $computer | Select-Object HotFixID, Description, InstalledBy, @{l="InstalledOn";e={[DateTime]::Parse($_.psbase.properties["installedon"].value,$([System.Globalization.CultureInfo]::GetCultureInfo("en-US")))}}
| where {$_.InstalledOn -ge (Get-Date -Day 1 -Format d)} | FT -AutoSize
Have tried this locally on the 2008 SP2 DC but still not working. Please advise what is going wrong?
Note: If I execute the below command locally on the 2008 SP2 DC, I am getting the InstalledOn output. However, when executed from the jump box with powershell v4.0 (Server 2008 R2) to query
the same 2008 SP2 DC, it just gives the prompt again without any error or output. This behavior is consistent for other 2008 SP2 DC's in the environment.
Get-HotFix -cn $computer | Select-Object HotfixID,Description,InstalledBy,InstalledOn | where {$_.InstalledOn -ge (Get-Date -Day 1 -Format d)} | FT -AutoSize

Hi jrv, I have already tried the Win32_QuickFixEngineering option, which doesn't work either. Apologies for not mentioning the workarounds that I have already tried.
Get-Hotfix seems to be just a wrapper for Win32_QuickFixEngineering as per the below article. (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh849836.aspx)
I have seen a mention of using the WU ActiveX control on few forums, but was too lazy to read it through.
After rigorous testing, it makes me realize that somewhere the Get-Hotfix dates formatting\comparison isn't working.

• How to include install date and time in registry keys

Hi All,
Hopefully someone can help me. I am creating an installer which includes some properties in the build specs. I also wannt to include some registry keys to be added upon installation:
1. I include the install directory of the application by providing the key with the value [INSTALLDIR]. This seems to work well and I have no problem with this.
2. The other key I would like to include (but I do not know how) is the date and time of installation. Is there a way of automatically including this in a registry key (similar to INSTALLDIR)?
I look forward to your expert advice!

Larry,
afaik the setting for "Run as Admin" is per OS process. As the "Run Exe after installation" is a different process as the application you installed by it (e.g. "MyApplication.exe"), i wouldn't expect the MyApplication.exe to require/use admin-rights.

• "Date and Time" freezes System Preferences - file to delete?

Well, I've had her up and running for about eight hours now and only one problem... just checking all the settings in System Preferences and when I select "Date & Time" System Preferences stops responding.
I migrated my 12" PB so there may have been a hinky file there - repairing permissions does nothing. Any .plist I might delete? The date and time are correct, by the way although, during set-up, the time & date pane just whizzed by, not giving me a chance to select.
Any thoughts, system wizards?

I have experienced the same problem. You can try deleting the /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist, but that may not help. Be sure you have no menubar items running such as MenuMeters, iClock, etc. You might also try booting from the Installer Disc and running Disk Utility to repair the hard drive and permissions. Then do a shutdown for about five minutes before restarting. Upon restart clear PRAM by pressing and holding down the OPTION-COMMAND-P-R keys immediately after the chime and continue to hold them until you hear the restart chime another four times, then release and allow normal startup.
Migrating from a PowerPC Mac can be problematic because of the possibility of getting third-party plug-ins, preference panes, menubar modifiers, etc. that can potentially cause problems.

Bill,
reviewing the thread Dennis linked (thanks for that) reveals that it is the same account which opened this thread here three month later.
What bothers me is the fact, that the past thread is marked "solved" even though it obviously isn't. Or the OP is trolling us.....
Nevertheless, it seems like systematic error. Connected to specific machines.
What makes the machines where the time stamp issue occurs "unique"? If there are several, is that source really "unique"?
Most obvious reasons would be:
- Language settings (possibly the infamous "dot-comma-issue")
- Time zone settings (e.g. what happens if you switch Ulaanbaatar to Perth or maybe even some US time zone?)
- Missing hotfixes for Win and LV
- Is the system running as virtual machine vs. "native"?
Not so obvious differences:
- Specific CPU type
- Motherboard/BIOS
- LV ini settings
There are tons of other possible reasons (e.g. corrupt LV installation), but these are the ones i came up with within a couple of minutes....

• Network not able to set date and time

Live outside of US and have my new Apple TV set to my Air Express WiFi network but I have not found a way to set the date and time. I have set my region time zone but stll no luck. I cannot move forward with the installation until I resove this problem. So far my Apple TV is only good for Air Play of my Spotify music and YouTube. Without date and time can't even set iTunes. Help!

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Assuming this is not the first time you have used your Apple TV
You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Also try restarting the router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
If the problem persists, try a restore, you may want to try the previous procedures several times before doing this.
If restoring from the Apple TV doesn't help, try restoring from iTunes using a USB cable.
If this is a new Apple TV, in addition to trying the above, it may also be that your network router is not allowing access to the timeserver, check that your router allows access over port 123.

• How to know date and time information from Trace File defaultTrace.X.trc?

Hi, all.
i'm using EP 6.0 SP9 patch 1.
As you know, default trace is written in the <SID>\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\log\defaultTrace.X.trc.
By using the default trace formatter, it shows like the following sample messages.
#1.5#0011110E7B2000590000000100000A100003EC71562E6EBC#1104396451585#com.sap.jms.server.ServerClientAdapter##com.sap.jms.server.ServerClientAdapter#Guest#18####716257115a3f11d9b73b0011110e7b20#SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_23##0#0#Error#1#/Applications/JMS#Plain###JMS internal error at ServerClientAdapter! JMS Service is not started!#
My questions are
1. how do we retrieve the date and time information from the above message? It seems that this message has date and time info because LogViewer shows the date and time based on the above message.
2. how do we change the above date format to easier one
like "YYYY:MM:DD:hh:mm:ss"? i know that it can be configured from the Visual Admin --> Services --> Log Configurator but i don't know the exact place for the trace file.
Thanks.

Hi Sejoon,
I use the standalone Logviewer to read the log files. Works great.
"If you have an SAP Web Application Server Java 6.20 or below you may also get a standalone_logviewer.zip file at the SAP Service Marketplace at service.sap.com/download → SAP NetWeaver → Release ‘04. In this case JDK version 1.3 or higher must be installed on the system. The java version must be same on the server and the client.
In the SAP Web AS Java 6.30 installation a folder named logviewer_standalone can be found under: <path Of J2EE installation>/<SysID>/JC<nr>/j2ee/admin/logviewer_standalone. Verify that the batch file logviewer.bat is installed in the directory logviewer-standalone.

• Date and Time on Mac OS X and Windows XP running diffrently... (Boot Camp)

Why the time differently when i change OS? I was used network time server on my both OS, but the time still wrong after i changed operating system... How can i solve this problem?
Thx.
Kelvin

Hi Kelvin,
The answer to your question lies within the Boot Camp Beta - Installation & Setup Guide. Under the Troubleshooting section on the last page. I quote:
My computer doesn’t always show the correct date and time.
The Windows XP and Mac OS X operating systems handle your computer’s date and time information differently, so the date and time may be different when you switch operating systems.
For best results, use a network time server. Resync the date and time whenever you switch operating systems.
To resync your date and time:
In Mac OS X, reset the option to “Set date & time automatically” in the Date & Time pane of System Preferences.
In Windows, click the Update Now button in the “Date and Time Properties” control panel.
Alternatively, you can manually set the correct date and time when you switch operating systems.
End quote

• Equipment dismantle Date and Time - Table details

Hi,
We do Installation and dismantling Equipments from their Superior equipments/Functional Location. At that time default Date and Time is getting updated in the Field - DATUM [Date] and UZEIT [Time].
Which Table this DATUM [Date] and UZEIT [Time] can be found for a Equipment.
Please provide Table details.
Regards,

Try Time Segments for Equipments - EQUZ
Fields DATBI & TIMBI are the end date and time for a time segment, so this will change each time the equipment is dismantled/installed in a new location.

• Date and Time in Sender File Adapter Target Directory

Hi there,
is there a way of using Date and Time from XI to the Target Directory naming? To use variable substitution some fields of the message had to contain that date and time information, which is not our case.
For filename you can use "add time stamp" option, but and for target directory?
Thanks and regards,

Hi there, Moorthy
We've tried to write that shell script that you mentioned, but now we have a few doubts on how to make it create the proper directory.
In the file adapter, my target directory is "/%var1%/%var2%/", where %var1% and %var2% are variable substitutions, referencing data which comes from the payload. Now, I need the shell script to append "/<Year>/<Month>/" in the target directory. But where to archive the script? If it stays in the root directory, than how to make it create "/<Year>/<Month>/" folders inside a directory which is variable (/%var1%/%var2%/)?
Is there a way of passing %var1% and %var2% as parameters for the shell script?
Thanks a lot,
Henrique.

• Unable to insert date and time when using date datatype

Hi
I am hitting a bit of a problem when using the date datatype. When trying to save a row to the table where the field it throws an error ora 01830 and complains about converting the date format picture ends...etc. Now when I do the insert, I use the to_date function with the format of "dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi:ss". Of course, when I remove the time element, everything is perfect.
Checking sysdate, I noticed that the time element wasn't be displayed, and I used alter session set nls_date_format to set the date and time I want to save to the table, which worked!
Then based on advice in a previous thread to permanently fix the problem, I used alter system set nls_date_format ="dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi:ss" scope=spfile; This showed that it was altered, and I can see the setting in the em. In sqlplus, I shutdown the database, and restarted with startup mount; alter database open; and then selecting sysdate, it still shows the date as dd-mon-yy, and still no time! Checking the em, and looking up the nls_date_format the setting is still shown as "dd-mon-yyyy hh24:mi:ss".
So, my question is this - what am I doing wrong? Why can't save date and time using date in Oracle 11g?????
Thanks

ThanksYou most certainly can save the time. A DATE column, by definition stores date and time. What you describe is a presentation problem, and setting nls_date_format at the system as an init parm is the weakest of all settings as it is overridden by several other locations.
without seeing the exact sql that produced the error (not just your description of what you think you were doing) it is impossible to say for sure.
However, I'd suggest you read http://edstevensdba.wordpress.com/2011/04/07/nls_date_format/
