Date calculation in report

Hi,
in rpt i need to show the diff b/w 2 dates.
i.e., (END_DATE- START_DATE).
so i have created 2 formula variables on END_DATE- START_DATE.
i just wanna confirm whether i created it properly or not.
Procedure:
Under Formula Variable-->New Variable.
Type of Variable: Formula
Processing by : Replacement Path
Ref Char: END_DATE.
in replacement tab
Replace Variable with: InfoObject
Replace with: Key
Use Interval: To Value
Offset Start: 0 & Offset Lenght: 0
Currency/Unit:
Dim : Date
same procedure for START_DATE(Use Interval: From Value)
then fomula: END_DATE - START_DATE.
any thing to change ??
regards,
kv

HI SHANTI,
i have used same method, but it was done in 3.0 so there are few extra options in 7.0
iam more concerned about them... like...offset start & offset lenght.
in rpt output numbers are not displayed...its displaying "X".
regards,
kv

  • Calculation of % on Date Differences - BW Reporting

    Hi Experts,
I have a typical scenario where in I need to calculate the % for the no of Days difference b/t 3 dates(Statistical Date, Delivery Date, GR Date).
As of now I just showed just the Difference b/t all the 3 dates in no of days. Now I need to acomplish the below task, Can any one plese suggest me how to proceed to resolve all the below conditions.
Need to provide the % of orders that fall into the following buckets for each of the above 3 Dates only in Reporting.
    1. On time = +/- 5 days
    2. Greater than 6-10 days late
    3. 11-15 days late
    4. Greater than 16 days late
    5. 6-10 early
    6. 11-15 days early
    7. Greater than 16 days early
I need to do this at Query level only as I don't have authorization to create a new Calculated Key figures or Restricted KF.
Only I can do is play around with the New Selection or New Formula at Column area of designer, write some Macros or can access Exceptional reporting for above 3 DATE Char or Key Figure fields and do some math to accomplish.
    Thanks,
    Sam

    Hi Nagesh,
Thanks for your quick reply, I can say I tried with couple of options and couldn't
suceed with the minimal access which I do have.
Now I don't have much time to respond to user, If at all you do have and time
and if you don't mine can you please look at the conditions and just give me the
STEP1....STEPN for any one of the 3 diff types which you mentioned in your
reply so that I can take it up from there.
Sample Days Difference in my spread sheet now:-
Stat-Del Date Diff Stat-GR Date Diff Del Date-GRDate Diff
    -67             68                       -68
    -112                160                       -160
    -109                109                       -109
    -109                109                       -109
    0                1                                        -1
Please take any one date and do write down the step1..stepN if you have time.

  • Fiscal Calendar in Report Variant Dynamic Date Calculation

We are switching from the standard calendar to a 4/4/5 calendar for our fiscal calendar. We have a number of batch reports that use dynamic date calculation in the variant to get Month-To-Date or Previous Month date ranges. Is there a way to convert these variants to use the new FiScal calendar instead of the regular calendar?

    thanks to answer , praveen.
I know, VARI has name of FM , but not has Calendar ID.

  • Urgent due date calculation in vendor ageing(plz solve)

    hi everybody there
i have to calculate the due on date
    which is calculated as
    dueon = BLINE Date (BSIK-ZFBDT) + No of Days(BSIK-ZBD1T)
for this i am using fm
    RP_CALC_DATE_IN_INTERVAL
but it is not working .
could u suggest that what is going wrong with this

i am calling this fm in following code but it is not working , it is going to dump.
could any one suggest me how to use the above fm in my following code so that i will be able to calculate due on date based on above formula.

  • Date Calculation in BEx

    Hello All,
In my report, User wants to see a day counter which is the dfference of a date (date coming from cube) and Current date. For current date  we are using 0f_aday sap exit. How we can we acheive this, does it involve any User exits at the back end or can I use a calculated keyfigure to find the difference between these two dates.
Please reply to this as it is very Urgent Issue
    thank you

    HI AL,
Thanks for the udpate. But I believe we can update any thread if its related with the same subject if its less than 3 years. Is it not right ? I have a mail in my inbox, from some moderator confirming the same. That is the reason I have updated this thread...as its related to the same question and this thread is created n 2011.
Anyway, thanks for the answer. I will change the dimension to date and calculate the difference from the 2 variables.
Reg another doubt, from the below link...
    https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:YQS2jPhWysAJ:www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/705734f2-4e85-2e10-2ebf-891d0110de74%3FQuickLink%3Dindex%26overridelayout%3Dtrue+&hl=en&gl=au&pid=bl&srcid=ADGEESjL8dx81tAAJNL0Ln4c2MW4k3yZRDNFsop1pptOc3bQf1xU0Le9e3loFsZXJi5rWuYt3j7yoStGMktsL5XEdV9T3ONzdKay0x5yrIbaUBB3Dpz1Fr6xuggf_IZX-S0Q4WONpBhN&sig=AHIEtbTZfXXLN4gZCsw7qpZXgrkjeCYLcA
what is the field used for Interval ( from, to , range) . You have missed my other question, why am I getting X below the result while doing the date calculation . I mean I am getting the result, but below every row, there is a X . Any ideas ?
    Thanks,

  • Automatically perform calculations in report for editable items

    Hello,
I have a report which consists of some editable text items. These editable items correspond to different columns in the table. Now in the report I want to make one column item to be automated so that it can perform some calculations based on other columns data entered by the user in the report. Like, for example if the user changes text item data for col3, col4 then it should automatically perform the calculations for col10 ; similar to onchage event. Consider a situation where in a user comes and enters data in the report throught the text item for col3, so whenever user changes the data for col3 it should perform the calculations for col10 automatically.
Can anyone please help me with this issue.
    Thanks,
    Orton

    Shijesh,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
In my case its a normal report but the thing is I need to calculate based on the data entered by the users in different text items which are present in different regions.
I have five fields to calculate on the fly like based on the data entered by the users. Below are the five columns. I have the item Ids specified for each of these editable items present across different regions.
    PITIA's (f20) = First P And I Amount(25) + County Tax amount(f26) + Hazard Ins Amount(f27) + Over or Short Amount(f28)
    F/E Ratio(f21) = PITIA's(f20) / (Borrower 1 Income(f29) + Borrower 2 Income(f30)) (This should be %)
    B/E Ratio(f22) = ( PITIA's(f20) + MI Payment(f31) + 2nd Mort Payment(f32) + Revolving Liabilities(f33) + Installment Liabilities(f34) ) /( Borrower 1 Income(f29) + Borrower 2 Income(f30) ) (should be %)
    LTV(f23) = First Principal Balance(f35) /Current Value(f36)
    Net Disposable(f24) = ( Borrower 1 Income(f29) + Borrower 2 Income(f30) ) - ( PITIA's(f20) + MI Payment(f31) + 2nd Mort Payment(f32) + Revolving Liabilities(f33) + Installment Liabilities(f34) )
shijesh can you please help me out with these calculations.
    Thanks,

  • D: Dynamic date calculation

    Hello,
In BEx, when creating a variant, is it possible to use "Selection variable = D: Dynamic date calculation"?
I have created a variable for 0calmonth and in the Variant Attributes screen, Selection variable field, the only option is T: Table Variable from TVARVC.
    BW version 3.5
Thanks for any information you can provide.
    Mark

    Hi,
have a look at the below link..  ( they have mentioned the steps of customer exit variable fassigning for reporting agent)
    https://websmp110.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_FRAME=CONTAINER&_OBJECT=011000358700003598422003E
    Regards,
    Siva.

  • Enable "dynamic date calculation" variable type

When saving reporting date/period in a report variant, we may use "dynamic date calculation" to specific date as selection parameter.  But the "Dynamic date calculation" is not visible in some ABAP reports - only "Table Variable from TVARVC"  type is available for selection.
For those reports that are missing that variable type, how can we enable the "Dynamic date calculation" variable type to be visible?

    Hi Paco:
Yes, they are z-reports, both have the same almost everything, created by the same ABAPer, for the same application SD, just grouping the data differently.
It seems a screen (#100?) is missing,  In the old version, it's screen 100 where to activate the "D" and "B" variable types.  Now it goes to screen 281.

  • Dynamic Date Calculation

    Hi all,
Currently, i need to run a background PO report daily. As i only want today's PO data everytime the background job runs, i set the PO date dynamically using dynamic date calculation choosing current date, save it as a variant then schedule daily run.
Howerver, for the next run day, the report was ok but subsequent running, the report is not the current date data.
Any idea where i have miss out?
Kindly assist and advise, points will be rewarded.
    Regards,
    Eric

    Hi,
    Thanks for your prompt reply.
I am looking for ways to create a variant with changing date for daily run so that i do not have to daily modify the date.

  • Date calculations based on working days

I need to add date calculations to a worksheet to show the time elapsed between two actions.
Just a straightforward subtraction works fine, but what I really need to be able to do is calculate the number of working days between the two point (as something taking 5 days over Christmas with the 2 bank holidays is different equivalent to something taking 3 days in a normal week)
At the moment I'm exporting the data into excel for analysis of this, but would really like to be able to do it in Disco so that the end users can go straight to the report using viewer, rather than having to do the conversion for them.
    Is this possible?
    Cheers

    Hi,
Every thing is possible, the Q is how complicated is it....
My suggestion is to create a table with all the dates of the non-working days for ex:
create a table with all the MON-THURSDAYS, union to this table the holidays you know of such as christmas and so on.
After getting this table you can create a function that returns the number of working days between 1 date to another by subtracting the days exists in this table.
I started with that, you are more then welcome to get ahead with it and let us know what happened...
    create table holiday
    D_date date,
    d_day varchar2(20)
create or replace procedure holiday_proc is
    d_date date;
    begin
    d_date := trunc(sysdate);
    while d_date<'01-jan-2010'
    loop
if to_char(trunc(d_date),'Day') not in ('Saturday ','Sunday ') then
    INSERT INTO Holiday (d_date,d_day)
    (select trunc(d_date),to_char(trunc(d_date),'Day') from dual);
    end if;
    d_date := d_date+1;
    end loop;
    commit;
    end holiday_proc;

  • Activating dynamic date calculation in variant

Per the link below, I used to be able to activate "dynamic date calculation" in variant.
<link to blocked site removed by moderator>
Our system has been upgraded to 6.0 and now we do not the same variant attribues screen where I can activate the "D" variable.  It brings me to program/screen SA38/281.
Any suggestion how I may activate the "D" dynamic date calculation variable in a variant?
Edited by: Thomas Zloch on Oct 14, 2011 11:34 AM

Actually I meant the relevant code of your custom report, you just provided me with the info of the standard variant screen.
You can go to SE38, enter your custom report name, display the code, and paste the definition of that parameter. (It would be something like
    PARAMETERS: P_DATEHG TYPE XXX_TYPE.
What I am interested in is to know which data type is being used, since this functionaliy will only apply to date type fields. So, bottom line: this field must definitely be a date, which makes me think that either something has changed in the custom report or after the upgrade to ECC 6.0 this data type might have changed as well.
    Best regards.

  • To retrieve the oldest date in the report

I have a requirement to retrive the oldest date in the report, I am currently working in BW 3.5
    The scenario is as below
I have a char infoObject creation date which retrieves the date
I have a char infoobject status which retrieves open or close
For eg in my cube I have 5 records
3 records has the status open and 2 records has the status closed
When I adding the InfoObject "creation date" which has filtered for the open status , I am getting the result correctly with 3 records
Now my requirement is I need to have only one row which should get oldest "creation date" out of the 3 records as below
    Rec1 10.10.2006
    Rec2 25.11.2007
    Rec3 20.08.2009
I need only one count in the creation date which should show me 10.10.2006

    Hi Pavan.
Can you model the creation date as a key figure as well as having it as a char? If so, you can create a condition on the key figure, to only give you the "Bottom 1" record.
I think in 3.5 you cannot use a formula variable to read the value of the char in the row, but if you can, you can do it like that with a calculated key figure where you use the formula var and then put a condition on this ckf.
    regards
    Jacob

  • Could not see the data in the report

    Hi,
BOXI R3.1 is intalled newly in my sytem.Through Infoview, when i refresh a new report, though data is getting into the report ,I am not able to see the data in the report plus the Header color is blue and the rest of the row colors are displaying as yellow.
when I am logging in another machine i am able to see the data. Please help me in solving this issue.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Spandana.

    Spandana,
As suggested, JVM is problem. You can find out it at Control Panel == Java (Double-click) General tab == About button (See the build version) (build 1.6.0_20-b02). So you have to choose below 20 (I prefer 17).
Alternatively, You might have several Java's running on your machine. Uninstall all Java versions and start developing reports or Editing any existing reports, now BO will prompt for you to install JVM, Run it, Now the problem is solved.
Hope it should solves the issue.
If you want to see the data:(now with yellow & blue)
Select Column == properties == Read cell content as, change it to HTML.
    Thank You!!

  • Not getting data in the report.

    Hi BW Experts,
I have Changed the display attribute to Navigational attribute for 0BP_FSTNAME of 0BPARTNER.I have switched on in the Cube as Navigational Attribute.I have checked the table /BI0/SBPARTNER and it contains the data. In Query Designer, i can the 0BP_FSTNAME as seperate Characteristic. When i execute the query, # Values are displaying in the report.
I have loaded the master data again for 0BPARTNER_ATTR.
I have tried to laod Attribute Change run, but 0BP_FSTNAME is not displayed in the list.
But still i couldnt able to see the data in the report.
Can u pls help on this issue.
    Thanks,
    Jelina.

    Hi,
    Do one thing.
See what all records you get in the cube for the selections which you have given on the report.Give the same selection in the cubes and pick some records for you analysis.
pick the value of BPARTNER from all those records.
Now check the table /BI0/PBPARTNER and check inside that if it stores values for 0BP_FSTNAME or not for the same value of BPARTNER in the cube.
If it stores then try to activate the master data again and see if it shows up in the report.
If not then it will show up in blank.
use the transaction LISTCUBE to see all the values in the inforpovider and give the same selections and restrcitions here which you have given in the report.
Also if this query is based on a multiprovider...then you need to give proper identification...that is the this char should be identified from all the underlying cubes.
    Thanks
    Ajeet
