Hi
I can't see why you couldn't use a PL/SQL validation - you get the dates from items on the page...?
Anyway, the reason why you can't make my corrections work may be that they've ben "interpreted" by the markup-parser in the forum... I wasn't aware. I'll see if i can work around it. What I meant was that you needed:
if (amonths[ i ] == ...)
etc.
And BTW, you've got the month-numbers wrong. January is 0 and December is 11 in JavaScript.
Also it'd be more elegant to use an associative list. I'd write something like
<script type="text/javascript">
function checkdates_baseline(pStartDateItem,pEndDateItem)
  var sdate = document.getElementById(pStartDateItem).value;
  var edate = document.getElementById(pEndDateItem).value;
  if(sdate != "" && edate != "")
    var m2int = {
      JAN: 0,
      FEB: 1,
      MAR: 2,
      APR: 3,
      MAY: 4,
      JUN: 5,
      JUL: 6,
      AUG: 7,
      SEP: 8,
      OCT: 9,
      NOV: 10,
      DEC: 11 };
    var start_year = sdate.substring(7,11);
    var start_month = sdate.substring(3,6);
    var start_day = sdate.substring(0,2);
    var start_date = new Date(start_year, m2int[start_month], start_day);
    var end_year = edate.substring(7,11);
    var end_month = edate.substring(3,6);
    var end_day = edate.substring(0,2);
    var end_date = new Date(end_year, m2int[end_month], end_day);
    if( end_date <= start_date )
      alert('The End date must be after the Start Date Baseline');
      document.getElementById(pEndDateItem).value = "";
</script>But still - try to use PL/SQL - it's probably a better way...

  • How to read data from the data provider using javascript

    Hi,
    Please let me know how to read the data from the dataprovider using javascript(query assigned to the data provider).
    My query has filter charateristics, free charateristics, charateristics in rows and key figure in column.
    Thanks a lot for your kind help

    Kandaswamy,
    Assign an ID to your table item , then in JavaScript , you can use ID.innerHTML and you will get the HTML code within that table for the same , then you can find out how best to get the exact value you desire from the innerHTML value which is a string with the entire HTML from within the table item.

  • Using JavaScript to search for dates in PDF

    Hello,
    I have a question about using JavaScript in Adobe Acrobat X Pro.
    I want a script that automatically search dates which fall within one week of the date of today.
    If this is true then the pdf file have to be deleted. If the date is later then one week of the date of today then the pdf file must be moved to a different folder.
    I hope anyone can help me with a solution.
    With regards,
    Robert

    Searching is the easy part. The problem is that a script can't delete a
    file, nor can it move a file to another problem.

  • How to compare dates using javascript?

    Hi,
    I have to compare dates using javascript. The dates are in format "mm/dd/yy" for eg "10/09/06".
    I have written a script to compare the dates but the problem I 'm facing is with the year.
    For example if I compare "10/09/06" with "10/04/98", then "10/04/98" is coming out to be greater than "10/09/06" because it is considering year "98" to be greater than "06".
    Please advice/suggest.
    Thanks in advance...

    Dude, you're here in a Java forum, not in a Javascript forum. Those are two entirely different languages.
    The answer in Java is to use java.text.SimpleDateFormat to convert String to Date and use java.util.Date and/or java.util.Calendar to compare dates.

  • POST Data Using Javascript

    Hi Guys,
    I ran into this trouble, basically, what I need is to post data into this url using REST:
    www.thissite.com/comment
    now it says:
    do this with a variable name content, containing "key: value" line by line:
    id:
    Action: comment
    Text: the text comment
    now it has a sample on how to do this using java:
    import java.io.IOException;
    import org.apache.commons.httpclient.HttpClient;
    import org.apache.commons.httpclient.methods.PostMethod;
    import org.apache.commons.httpclient.methods.multipart.MultipartRequestEntity;
    import org.apache.commons.httpclient.methods.multipart.Part;
    import org.apache.commons.httpclient.methods.multipart.StringPart;
    public class RtTicketCreator {
    static final String BASE_URI = "http://www.thissite.com/REST/1.0";
    public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException {
    PostMethod mPost = new PostMethod(BASE_URI + "/1234/comment/");
    Part[] parts = { new StringPart("content", "id: 1234\nAction: comment") };
    mPost.setRequestEntity(new MultipartRequestEntity(parts, mPost.getParams()));
    HttpClient cl = new HttpClient();
    cl.executeMethod(mPost);
    System.out.println(mPost.getResponseBodyAsString());
    Now, my question is: Can I do this using javascript? If yes, could you at least give me an idea how to accomplish this?
    Thanks Guys,

  • Reading form data using javascript

    Hello.
    I want to go over the data received from the context to the PDF file using JavaScript, without binding it to any elements on the form.
    How can I access the data?
    I've tried using xfa.data or xfa.dataset, but didn't manage to get to it.
    How can it be done?
    Thanks.

    The following applies if it's a PDF generated from ABAP :
    Let's say a simple type parameter from context is named EBELN. To get it from javascript, you must use :
    $data.data.EBELN.value
    or
    $record.EBELN.value
    (it's the same)
    For example, to display the value, use:
    xfa.host.messageBox( $data.data.EBELN.value );
    Edited by: Sandra Rossi on Jan 28, 2009 7:34 PM : added $record line

  • Change Data Using Javascript

    Hi Guys,
        I'm wondering can I change a data in the data view without binding it to a UI using javascript?
        Thanks,

    Hi,
    I mean in the hierarchy node select the field to which you want to populate the value. And in the script editor write this.rawValue = <your value>.

  • ICS 2: Can I change the format of the date displayed by Calendar Server from M/D/Y to D/M/Y using JavaScript?

    Can I change the order in which the month and day are displayed in Calendar
    Server using JavaScript? Specifically, I would like the date to be displayed
    in the format D/M/Y instead of M/D/Y.
    <P>
    Yes. You can change the format of the date by editing the JavaScript variable
    in the file <I>
    loadpoint</I>/CalendarServer/cal/uicust/en/main.html
    . The variable is located in the
    "Misc" section in the
    following line:<BR>
    <P>
    i18n['def date order'] = 'M/D/Y';
    <P>
    Edit the line as follows:<BR>
    <P>
    i18n['def date order'] = 'D/M/Y';

    Hello Mark,
    yes, it is possible. In Calendar Express under
    "Options | Settings -> Date"
    "Show brief dates in the following order: Date, Month, Year".
    BTW.: iCS 5.0 P4 is out since August, 2001. It's worth upgrading!

  • Change Data Entry Template variable values using javascript

    Content ServerIs there a way to change the Data Entry Template's text/Integer variable values using javascript?

    I believe you're asking if you can change the value of a content item's property using Javascript (a content item is created from a data entry template, which defines the set of properties).
    Unfortunately there is not a way to permanently change it in the content item, since Javascript is executed client-side rather than on the server. However, if you're just interested in how the value is displayed in the published HTML, you could modify the presentation template to store the property value into a Javascript variable and then manipulate it to be displayed in whatever manner you wish.

    How to get sharepoint online (office 365) data in cloud/windows azure (provider) hosted app using Javascript?
    I wish to retrieve sharepoint online data in html page (hosted in windows azure) using javascript and then need to play with AngularJS

    Hi,
    According to your description, you might want to get data from Office 365 SharePoint Online(also known as host web) and pass to the Provider Hosted App which is hosted
    in Windows Azure site.
    I would suggest you take a look at the links below about accessing data from the host web
     for a quick start:

  • Problem with using javascript in interactive adobe form

    Hi All,
        I have a problem when accessing text field value which is present inside a subform using javascript.
    I tried giving data.page4.sub-5.<fieldname>.rawvalue but its not working. Please provide a solution.
    Thank you in Advance.

    Since this question is related to JavaScript running within the Form and not the connection between the form and Web Dynpro - it really belongs in the Interactive Forms by Adobe Forum.

  • How can I pass variables from one project to another using Javascript?

    Hi all, I am trying to do this: let learners take one course and finish a quiz. Then based on their quiz scores, they will be sent to other differenct courses.
    However, I wish keep track on their previous quiz scores as well as many other variables.
    I found this nice widge of upload/download variables by CPguru (http://www.cpguru.com/2011/05/18/save-and-load-data-widget-for-adobe-captivate-4-and-adobe -captivate-5/). However, this widget works by storing variables from one project in local computer and then upload it to another project.
    My targeted learners may not always use the same computer though, so using this widget seems not work.
    All these courses resided in a local-made LMS which I don't have access to their code. Therefore, passing variables to PHP html files seems not work.
    Based on my limited programing knowledge, I assume that using Javascript to pass variables may be the only possible way.
    Can someone instruct me how to do this?
    Thank you very much.

    If you create two MIDlet in a midlet suite, it will display as you mentioned means you can't change the display style.

    XSL-1000: (Fatal Error) Error while parsing XSL file (Extension function namespace should start with 'http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/'.).
    What kind of namespace I should specify?

    Hello, Paul.
    I'm sure you may not use JavaScript as a language for creating XSLT extention functions with Oracle XDK Parser. This is since parser might have JavaScript interpreter to work with JavaScript, but it has not.
    If you need to build any XSLT extention functions you must build them as Java class' static methods.
    After that, you define the usage of the class by mean of namespace declaration as:
    xmlns:your-ns="http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/yourpackage.Yourclass"
    (Prefix "http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/" may differs if you use non-Oracle XML parser)
    and use class' static method in XSLT:
    <xsl:value-of select="your-ns.staticMethodName(paramsIfAny)"/>
    In your case you may wish to use standard Date class:
    xmlns:date="http://www.oracle.com/XSL/Transform/java/java.util.Date"
    <xsl:value-of select="date:toString(date:new)"/>

  • How do I use Javascript to populate a text field based on a selection from a drop down box?

    Greetings,
    I have virtually no experience with JavaScript and I am trying to figure out how to add some basic automation features to an Adobe form.  I have a drop down box called "Hospital_Name" that will contain approximately 7 possible selections.  When the user makes a selection, I would like to have the text field (called "Hospital_Address") below the drop down box populate with the corresponding address for the selection.  I have the "Hospital_Address" text field configured for multiple lines and would like the address to have a line break between the street address and the city/state/zip.
    For example, if the user selected "Hospital 1", the text field would display:
    123 Main St
    Anytown, CA 12345
    Any help or examples you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    You have the element names within the object within brackets.
    Make sure your brackets are properly placed and matched.
    // Place all pre-population data into a single data structure
    var Location = {
    "--Hospital--":{ line1: " ", line2: " " },
    "Bellevue Medical Center":{ line1: "2500 BMC Drive", line2: "Bellevue, NE 68123" },
    "CHI Bergan Mercy":{ line1: "7500 Mercy Road", line2: "Omaha, NE 68124" },
    "CHI Immanuel":{ line1: "6901 N. 72nd Street", line2: "Omaha, NE 68122" },
    "CHI Lakeside":{ line1: "16901 Lakeside Hills Court", line2: "Omaha, NE 68130" },

    // some debugging code to see location names;
    console.show();console.clear():
    for(I in Location) {
    console.println(I);
    // end debugging code;
    function SetFieldValues(Hospital_Name) {
        this.getField("AddLine1").value = Location[Hospital_Name].line1;
        this.getField("AddLine2").value = Location[Hospital_Name].line2;
    This is not a beginners task but requires a fair amount of knowledge about the structure of objects, defining strings, and structure of arrays.
    Are you sure you have all the field names correctly spelled and capitalized?
    Do you get any error in the JavaScript console?
    Just trying the line that defines the "Location", I get the following error:
    SyntaxError: invalid property id
    1:Console:Exec
    undefined
    All the form field in a PDF are processed by using JavaScript and any error in any script will stop JavaScript processing.
    It might help to have a link to the problem form.
