Date Control issue in 64 bit Windows

Hi,
          The problem I am facing is “ActiveX control of mscal.ocx” is not working in 64 bit system [both server and client machine]. But, it is working in 32 bit machine.
I tried registering mscal.ocx from “syswow64” folder and tested it. But it is not working. I also tried from “system32” folder it still not working in a 64 bit machine. Kindly help to solve the issue.
Please advise me if  i anything done wrong

Hi Arthi28,
It seems this file is not designed for Windows 64-bit system,  I am not familiar with such function, to get more help from the related technology, it is recommended to post in Access forum:

  • URGENT: WS data control - Issue in Application server 10.1.3.3

    Hi All,
    I created a ADF web service data control and used that data control in an ADF JSPX page. When I tested the page in JDeveloper 10.1.3.3 (Embedded OC4J) it worked fine. But when I deployed the same in Application Server 10.1.3.3. it shows the following exception:
    javax.faces.el.EvaluationException: oracle.jbo.JboException: JBO-29000: DCA-40012: Failed to create a connection to the Web Service
    Similar issue is already posted in the following threads:
    Re: Web sevice data control deploy error.
    http://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=452703&start=15&tstart=240
    There is bug (ID: 5878326 ) raised in Metalink for this. I applied the patch 5878326 as mentioned in the Metalink. But after applying the patch also, the same exception occurs. I deleted connections.xml and then recreated, but no success.
    I also tried to create a new web service data control and used it in a new ADF JSPX page, again it shows the same exception in App Server 10.1.3.3.
    But the bug in Metalink is closed. Please let me if anyone is facing the same issue and the solution for this.

    Please post ADF related issues to the JDeveloper forum -- ADF is a runtime that gets installed on the app server, so the ADF folks are the most likely of all to be able to be of help.

  • ADF Data Control Issue

    Hi All
    I'm trying to display the results of a database procedure in an ADF table, but cannot get the Data Control structure return variable to appear as a structure correctly. What am I doing wrong?
    The db proc signature is:
    PROCEDURE get_employee_details(p_person_id IN NUMBER,
    p_wagn OUT VARCHAR2,
    p_last_name OUT VARCHAR2,
    p_first_name OUT VARCHAR2,
    p_middle_name OUT VARCHAR2,
    p_date_of_birth OUT DATE,
    p_gender OUT VARCHAR2);
    The ApplicationModule java code is:
    package wagnmgtmodel;
    import java.sql.CallableStatement;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    import java.sql.Types;
    import java.util.List;
    import oracle.jbo.JboException;
    import oracle.jbo.server.ApplicationModuleImpl;
    import wagnmgtmodel.common.AppModule;
    // --- File generated by Oracle ADF Business Components Design Time.

    public List<Wagn> getempdetails(Integer personid) {
    CallableStatement st = null;
    try {
    String stmt = "BEGIN Xxwgn_Wagn_Pkg.get_employee_details (?,?,?,?,?,?,?); END;";
    st = getDBTransaction().createCallableStatement(stmt, 0);
    st.registerOutParameter(2,Types.VARCHAR);
    st.registerOutParameter(3,Types.VARCHAR);
    st.registerOutParameter(4,Types.VARCHAR);
    st.registerOutParameter(5,Types.VARCHAR);
    st.registerOutParameter(6,Types.DATE);
    st.registerOutParameter(7,Types.VARCHAR);
    //st.setNull(1, Types.VARCHAR);
    st.setObject(1, personid);
    st.executeUpdate();
    Wagn match = new Wagn();
    match.setWagn(st.getString(2));
    match.setLastName(st.getString(3));
    match.setFirstName(st.getString(4));
    match.setMiddleName(st.getString(5));
    match.setDateOfBirth(st.getDate(6));
    match.setGender(st.getString(7));
    System.out.println("Match=" + match.getFirstName() + match.getLastName());
    return (List<Wagn>)match;
    } catch (SQLException e) {
    throw new JboException(e);
    } finally {
    if (st != null) {
    try {
    st.close();
    catch (SQLException e) {}
    All I get in the ADF Data Control is:
    getempdetails(Integer)
    Parameters
    personid
    return
    element
    New to ADF so any help appreciated.

    The error you see is because the WebServices policy manager app is not deployed on the WebLogic 10.1.3. If you notice the deployments on the integrated server, you will see an app named "wsm-pm". That app needs to be deployed on the standalong WL server.
    Thanks

  • Issue Installing 64 bit Windows 8

    Lenovo X230 Type 2306
    I cannot install a 64 bit operating system on my laptop. I am unsure if this is due to a bios setting or an operating system setting. I am trying to install Windows 8 Pro 64 bit from a usb flashdrive made using the Windows installer gui "create removable media". The installer defaults to a 32 bit installation on a x64 processor (i5 3320M, 8 gb ram). What do I need to fix in the bios to allow for a 64 bit installation?

    I may have found a workaround. Can you try to change the "compatibility mode" in 2008 R2 to "Windows XP SP3" and see if it will install?
    Admittedly I have not done this myself so I'm not entirely sure where or how it's done, but I have confirmation it resolves the issue from others who have faced it.

  • Uiadump32 - issue with 64 bit windows 7 recovery?

    My daughter has a HP DV6 Laptop model 2010sa.
    The hard drive has failed but when we use the recovery disks we get an error about uiadump32 failing.
    When I use the recovery DVDs for the laptop, it loads them and then restarts a couple of times. BUT, when it gets to the windows setup screen, listing "Preparing driver installation" etc, a failure occurs. uiadump32.exe has stopped working.
    From other research it seems existing partitions can be an issue, but the drive was wiped using fdisk on a linux live boot before installation.  It looks to me like the recovery manager needs to be updated in some way (WIndows 7 is 64 bit on this laptop).
    Any one a solution?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Assuming this is just an issue with the recovery process, there's a straight forward work-around you may want to consider.
    Before trying the following, make sure you can still read the Activation key on your Windows COA label ( 5 blocks of 5 alpha/numeric sets ).
    You can create an installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the correct Disc Image ( this must be the exact same version of Windows that originally came with your notebook ) from the link below and use an application such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly to a blank DVD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here.  These Images are clean and from a well-respected source, however there are only limited versions available.
    Windows-7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit
    Use the disc to perform the installation, enter the Windows activation key found on the COA Label when requested and when the installation has completed, use the 'Phone Method' detailed in the link below to activate the OS - this method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who just want a clean installation of Windows 7 without the additional software load normally bundled with OEM installations.

    Any additional software and drivers you may need can be found Here.

  • How to reference MS Access database in ColdFusion MX 7 on 64-bit Windows

    I am migrating customers from:
    Windows 2000 Server (fully patched)
    Internet Information Services (IIS) 5
    ColdFusion 5
    to:
    Windows Server 2003 Standard x64 Edition (fully patched)
    Internet Information Services (IIS) 6 (running in 32-bit
    mode)
    ColdFusion MX 7 (7.0.2) Standard
    Unfortunately, some of these existing customers are still
    using Microsoft Access databases instead of SQL Server. Having all
    of these existing customers migrate to SQL Server is not yet
    practical. On the old Windows 2000 / ColdFusion 5 server, they are
    using OLE DB data sources to reference the MS Access databases
    using the "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0" provider. None are configured
    to use ODBC drivers when referencing MS Access or SQL Server.
    I have yet to figure out how to get ColdFusion MX 7 to:
    - Create a data source that references MS Access databases on
    64-bit Windows.
    - Reference an existing MS Access data source created with
    the 32-bit version of the ODBC Data Source Manager on 64-bit
    Windows.
    A bit of background information regarding MS Access on 64-bit
    Windows:
    - At the time of this writing, Microsoft has not
    created/released 64-bit drivers for Microsoft Access and it's
    unlikely they ever will, for understandable reasons.
    - Contrary to seemingly popular belief, the Microsoft Jet 4.0
    Database Engine does exist on 64-bit Windows. See the following
    regarding version and file location information:
    How to obtain the latest service pack for the Microsoft Jet
    4.0 Database Engine
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/239114
    - You CAN create MS Access based data sources within 64-bit
    Windows, but they have to be made using the 32-bit version of "ODBC
    Data Source Manager". I'm assuming these DSNs may only be used by
    32-bit applications, but I have not tested that theory.
    32-bit data sources:
    ODBC Data Source Manager:
    %SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe
    Registry location:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ODBC
    Default file DSN directory:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\ODBC\Data Sources
    64-bit data sources:
    ODBC Data Source Manager:
    %SystemRoot%\system32\odbcad32.exe
    Registry location:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC
    Default file DSN directory:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\ODBC\Data Sources
    The 64-bit version of "ODBC Data Source Manager" (under
    Administrative Tools) only show "SQL Server" and/or "SQL Native
    Client" as options when creating new data sources, unless
    third-party software is installed that supplies additional drivers.
    The 32-bit version of "ODBC Data Source Manager" (by default,
    there is no shortcut for this in the Start menu) shows the typical
    drivers seen on 32-bit versions of Windows, including SQL Server,
    SQL Native Client, Microsoft Access, Excel, FoxPro, Paradox, etc.
    When using ColdFusion Administrator in ColdFusion MX 7.0.2 in
    64-bit Windows 2003 (IIS is running in 32-bit mode to allow
    ColdFusion MX 7 to function at all), two problems are encountered
    when dealing with MS Access (and presumably other 32-bit drivers).
    In both cases, ColdFusion is trying to reference the registry
    location for 64-bit data sources instead of 32-bit:
    1. Creating a new data source within ColdFusion
    Administrator:
    Data Source Name: whatever
    Driver: Microsoft Access
    CF Data Source Name: whatever
    Database file: (physical path to whatever.mdb)
    (other settings are irrelvant for this example)
    Error generated when submitting:
    Unable to update the NT registry.
    Cannot open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\ODBC
    Data Sources: Windows error number 5 occurred.Access is denied.
    ColdFusion stores the data source, however a "verify"
    generates the following error:
    Connection verification failed for data source: whatever
    java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC
    Driver][ODBC Socket]internal error: Data source name not found and
    no default driver specified
    The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException:
    [Macromedia][SequeLink JDBC Driver][ODBC Socket]internal error:
    Data source name not found and no default driver specified
    2. Creating the data source using the 32-bit version of "ODBC
    Data Source Manager" then trying to reference it with ColdFusion:
    ODBC Data Source Manager:
    System DSN or File DSN:
    Name: whatever
    Driver: Microsoft Access Driver (.mdb)
    Database: (physical path to whatever.mdb)
    (creation is successful within ODBC Data Source Manager)
    Reference the above DSN within ColdFusion Administrator:
    Data Source Name: whatever
    Driver: ODBC Socket
    Error generated when submitting:
    Error accessing available odbc datasources. - Cannot open
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\ODBC Data Sources:
    Windows error 2 occurred.The system cannot find the file specified.
    ColdFusion MX 7 can't find the 32-bit data source on 64-bit
    Windows because it's looking for it in the wrong registry location.
    Can ColdFusion MX 7 be configured to look in
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ODBC
    instead of
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC
    on a 64-bit Windows machine?

    Paul,
    Thanks for the insight on this. Regarding the initial problem
    I ran into with creating Access based DSNs, very early-on, I
    noticed there were two different driver options for Access
    displayed within ColdFusion MX 7 Administrator:
    Microsoft Access
    Microsoft Access with Unicode
    For reasons I'm am still baffled over, I somehow completely
    forgot about and through the wonders of apparent tunnel vision,
    completely overlooked the "Microsoft Access with Unicode" driver
    option when I was running through my tests.
    At your seemingly-obvious suggestion, I created a data source
    using the Microsoft Access with Unicode driver and it worked
    perfectly fine with the one customer's web site I'm using for
    testing (of course, this is a copy--the production site is still
    housed on the old ColdFusion 5 server). This obviously doesn't
    actually fix the underlying issue with ColdFusion looking in the
    wrong part of the registry on 64-bit Windows, but at least when it
    comes to dealing with Access databases, your suggestion of using
    the Microsoft Access with Unicode driver appears to be a functional
    work-around. So long as there aren't any surprises waiting for me,
    hopefully this will also work for the remaining ColdFusion sites I
    have to migrate that are using Access databases.
    Since you mentioned JDBC drivers in comparison with ODBC, I'm
    pointing out a couple of references in case they're helpful to
    anyone following this thread:
    ColdFusion MX 7 - About JDBC
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/coldfusion/7/htmldocs/00001736.htm
    Types of JDBC technology drivers
    http://java.sun.com/products/jdbc/driverdesc.html
    http://java.sun.com/products/jdbc/
    I don't actually develop anything in ColdFusion, so I'm
    dealing with all of this from a server administration standpoint
    since we do have some domain hosting customers that do develop or
    at least have existing ColdFusion based sites. I am all
    too-familiar with the caveats of using Access in any kind of
    production or heavily used environment and have spent years keeping
    users away from ODBC. For ColdFusion users, that meant creating OLE
    DB DSNs and often having to fix poorly written SQL statements and
    fixing ColdFusion date-related values and boolean values (the
    common problems encountered when switching CF / MS Access users
    from ODBC to OLE DB). I can only recall running into problems with
    a single SQL Server based ColdFusion site when migrating from ODBC
    to OLE DB. That customer never did get their many coding problems
    fixed, so they're the only ones still using ODBC in CF. I have no
    idea what'll happen when that one site gets migrated over--if it'll
    even work. Obviously a lot of things have changed between
    ColdFusion 5 and the MX versions that have come along afterward.
    Thanks again for the Access with Unicode driver tip and JDBC
    info. It looks like I can finally start moving forward again with
    the site migration process.

  • OBIEE 11G 64-Bit Windows LDAP Admin Server Startup Issue

    All,
    I have OBIEE 11G installed on 64-bit Windows, and can see all my LDAP users inside Admin Console just fine. When I reorder my LDAP above the DefaultAuthenticator, and make them both 'SUFFICIENT', my Admin Server no longer starts. It hangs on a line in the AdminServer.log that roughly says '<Security initializing using security realm myrealm.>'. Has anyone ran into this? If so, how do you get the Admin Server to start with a non default LDAP authenticator? I've tried re-ordering numerous ways with the DefaultIdentityAsserter in the middle and at the bottom; I've also tried switching the Control Flags on both with REQUIRED and OPTIONAL, all to no avail. Finally, I tried deleting out the DefaultAuthenticator all together, and it still won't start. At this point, I'm assuming this is another 64-bit issue that was not tested properly. Any thoughts/help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Josh

    Paul,
    Unfortunately that made no difference. I have pasted in the startup log below. Perhaps someone has some insight into what's happening?

  • RoboSource Control Server 3.1 on Windows Server 2008 64-bit?

    I was wondering if anyone has had any success running the RoboSource Control (Server) on Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit.  I experienced two dialog boxes near the end of the install.
    Item has already been added.  Key in dictionary: '_reserved_lastInstallerAttempted'
    Key being added: '_reserved_lastInstallerAttempted'
    and
    The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package.  This may indicate a problem with this package.  The error code is 2869.
    Then, it backs out all the changes it has made, and exits the installer.  At least it fails gracefully ...
    The reason why I ask this is mostly due to the fact that Windows Server 2008 R2 is ONLY issued in 64-bit editions.  There will be no more 32-bit editions.

    Although this post is three years old, I am getting the same problem now (June 2012) trying to install either the Client or Server components on a Windows 7 64-bit system. If anyone out there knows of a solution to this, I'd appreciate a reply.

  • Installed latest itunes update and computer tried to burn a playlist to CD and realized computer no longer recognizes my CD/DVD drive. This is an APPLE Itunes issue. Help!. HPPavillion DV6 64 bit, windows 7

    Installed latest itunes update and computer tried to burn a playlist to CD and realized computer no longer recognizes my CD/DVD drive. After doing some data mining, found out from community this is an long standing APPLE problem- which doesn't get much tech support in terms of fixes. I have an HPPavillion DV6 64 bit, Windows 7 OS . After reading an earlier complaint from 2009 in the support community,  I ran diagnostics from ITunes which gave the following result. Can someone please help? (I'm not enough of a techie to know what I'm doing or how to locate /reinstall CD drivers. I am searching for driver disc but cannot locate.)

  • Issue with webservice data control while invokin bpel process from ADF side

    Hello Experts,
    we are creating webservice data control to invoke bpel process from ADF side.
    When I run the application and inovoke the bpel every thing is working fine.
    But when we are changeing the instances from DEV to SIT the bpel url(hostname and port) will change.
    So we just edited DataControls.dcx file and we just replaced the wsdl url and trying to run the applicaiton.
    This time the applicaiton is not invoking the bpel process.
    If I remove the webservice data control and recreate it with new WSDL url then it is working fine.
    Can any one tell us what the exact issue is. Is there any other files do i need to modify or etc.
    Thanks & Regards
    Gayaz

  • Windows 8.1 Data reordering issue with Intel Adaptors

    According to Intel, there is a data reordering issue with their adaptors and probably this dumb WIDI software. This is from Intel site. they say some are fixed, "A future Windows 8 fix will address this issue for other Intel wireless adapters." I
    have one Nope, still broke. I get drops all the time. Brand new Toshiba laptop I7 16 gigs of ram and a SSD and a 2 gig Vid card. Would be nice to be able to play games but I get dropped all the time. Now would Microsoft quit hiding
    about this, and fix the darn thing. Also i'm a system admin for 13 years. I have build over 1000 PCs and servers. I know bad software. Please fix this. PLEASE. Its not going to just go away and its not just Toshiba, I have seen other companies with the
    same problem. If there is a Fix PLEASE POST IT. Or even a workaround I have tried everything.

    Hi,
    Have your first tried the software fix under this link for your network adapter?

    Please Note: The third-party product discussed here is manufactured by a company that is independent of Microsoft. We make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability.
    Also, you can try to check if there is any driver update under Device manager from manufacture's website.

    Yep didn't work. Still get drops all the time, had to run a Cat 5E cable to my laptop from my modem, because I have Atheros Gigabyte Lan adaptor. Works Great. The Wireless still drops all the time. Has Microsoft let out the patch to fix this or is it coming in
    April in the 8.1 patch that's coming. Funny thing is all for Widi, I don't even use widi, I got the software to do that from Samsung works better on my TV. Intel and Microsoft need to get this fixed. because their driving off gamers and that's the
    people that make sure they buy Microsoft so they can play games. With the wireless link dead and a great laptop worthless what's the point. Ive been in IT for 13 years building PCs  and Servers how I knew how to run a 60 FT Cat 5e line thru
    a 2 story house and terminate it. Most people don't. Fix the problem.

  • Windows 8.1 - Brightness control issues!!

    Microsoft - Nowhere in all the communications you've posted here have you even remotely taken responsibility for this bug! The first time we go to adjust the screen brightness after updating to 8.1 - the screen goes down to it's minimum brightness setting
    and will not adjust, no matter how we try to adjust it. My P500 Lenovo had the same issue. I talked with Lenovo support and they knew the driver that was included in your 8.1 update was the problem. We tried installing an 8.0 driver & a driver
    from the Intel site to no avail. Lenovo support finally installed a basic Microsoft driver which solved the issue! My question - at this point - is, if it's obviously a problem related to the 8.1 update - when can we expect a fix? When 8.2 comes up - do we
    dare assume that the driver in it will be solving the problem - or will it reintroduce it? As customers who purchase your product - we expect better
    communication regarding issues that crop up. We don't expect perfection - just
    integrity!

    I shall suggest you to uninstall and reinstall graphic driver.
    Intel has already come out with graphic driver designed for Windows 8.1 32bit  and Windows 8.1 64bit.It is available in Lenovo's website and it is applicable for P500.There is absolutely no need to install the graphic card driver made for windows 8
    when the driver for windows 8.1 is available in manufacturer's site.

  • Issue while installing idm 8.1.1 gateway on 64 bit windows 2008 R2

    Hi
    We have issue in installing idm 8.1.1 gateway on 64 bit windows 2008 R2
    C:\Program Files (x86)\IDM\gateway>gateway -i
    An error occured while trying to install the service: Input/output error
    Sun notes: if you're running 64-bit Windows 2008, you need the JDKTM Version 6 Update 12 and later.
    But this java version should be there in Gateway server(windows 2008) or idm installed server?
    We don't have java installed on gateway server. is this causing issue?
    please let us know
    Thanks

    I may have found a workaround. Can you try to change the "compatibility mode" in 2008 R2 to "Windows XP SP3" and see if it will install?
    Admittedly I have not done this myself so I'm not entirely sure where or how it's done, but I have confirmation it resolves the issue from others who have faced it.
