Date Field has junk in 10g
10g, UIX, UIX Controller, BC4J.
I pulled a table object linked to a table straight into the page, all default code. My field has the date "Jan 1, 2004" in it but in the UIX page it displays as "26464861-20-15" -- any ideas why?
If you run your page with hotspot, not ojvm (see Project Properties..Runner to change this), does it go away? I remember a similar problem that was ojvm-specific.

JSTL sql:query date field has zero time part
I have a little JSP where I am using JSTL to do a query against a table "ph_application" that has a date field "rundate". This field has many different dates and times in it.
Here is the code snippet:
<sql:setDataSource url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@oraprd02:1521:ipp4" user="site" password="pmc_site"/>
<sql:query var="application" sql="select * from ph_application"/>
<c:forEach items="${application.rows}" var="row">
<tr>
<td><c:out value="${row.name}" default=" " escapeXml="false"/></td>
<td><fmt:formatDate value="${row.rundate}" type="both"/></td>
</tr>
</c:forEach>
The resulting date/time output always has a 12:00:00 AM time regardless of what is actually in the table. I have changed the fmt:formatDate to a c:out of the row.rundate.time value and it appears that the time part of the date is actually zero at this point.
Is there an inconsistancy between the oracle date type and what JSTL is expecting (somewhere)?
Any help and/or verification is appreciated.
RichardI'm running this from within JDeveloper 10g.

IDoc posted in R/3 but data for Date field has not generated.
Hi Experts
This is JDBC to IDoc scenarion.
Source: MS SQL Server
Date Data Type: smalldatetime
Date field Format: yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss --> example: 2009-11-13 00:00:00
XI Mapping: Source Date --> Transformation --> Target Date
Transformation: yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss to yyyyMMdd
Target: R/3 System
Date Data Type: ERDAT from VBAK table - Date on Which Record Was Created
Date field Format: Date field (YYYYMMDD) stored as char(8)
Check points:
1. Mapping is working fine in XI and transformation is done with the test data: 2009-11-13 00:00:00 --> to ---> 20091113
2. In SXMB_MONI the data is processed from the source and the IDoc XML data is generated. In the IDoc XML data the date field is containing the value <DATE>20091113</DATE>
3. But when I tried to open the IDoc(SE05) in R/3 the date field is empty and no data is generated.
Request you to let me know why the error is happening.
Regards
RamHi Ram,
First try to test the same IDOC generated in ECC Box by populating date field value using WE19 and test .
Or
Instead of passing date value from SQL Server, Just give a try with Current Date function in Mapping and test in ECC system.
then we can think on further analysis.

How to insert row where DB date field has default value.
APEX 4.1, Oracle 11.2
I'm trying to insert a row using "javascript:addRow();" where the report query is an SQL Query (Updateable Report).
1) Several of the fields are display-only with defaulted values.
2) No problem with the VARCHAR2 fields.
3) And if RUN_DT is a text field, the insert works.
4) But I get errors when trying to make RUN_DT (DD-MON-YYYY) display-only and default it to P63_RUN_DT. I display P63_RUN_DT so I see it is correct.
Now, this is not a new question. See:

apex tabular form https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2337098 (Not answered)
Various folks recommended using Default PL/SQL and SYSDATE when SYSDATE was the desired default value. That worked for some and not for others. I could not get it to work for me. The errors I receive are "•Column must have a value. (Row 1) " and "ORA-01410: invalid ROWID". I believe the ROWID error is an example of spurious error cascade caused by the RUN_DT problem. I believe it will disappear once the RUN_DT problem is solved.
I will try to replicate on apex.oracle.com
Thoughts?
HowardUpdate: At least in my case, it seems the RUN_DT date column cannot be Standard Report Column. I made it "Display as Text (saves state)". Standard Report Column works for the defaulted VARCHAR2 columns. Go figure!
(more) And I could not get it to work with "Item" (P63_RUN_DT) as the Default. However, it seems to work -- so far -- using Default PL/SQL of TO_DATE(:P63_RUN_DT,'DD-MON-YYYY'). -

HP Officejet Pro 8600 fax confirmation time and date fields has all zeros
My fax confirmation sheet for the time and date of my HP Officejet Pro 8600 prints all zeros. How do I reset the time and date for this function?
Hello rschne,
Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with the date and time being all zeros on the fax confirmation.
Is the time and date set on the front display of the printer?
Please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Write me back when you have time and I will be happy to assist further.
Cheers,
Click the “Kudos Thumbs Up" at the bottom of this post to say “Thanks” for helping!
Please click “Accept as Solution ” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

How do I populate my date fields placed on Master Page for multiple pages?
I have a dynamic form with flowing fields. I inserted date fields using the Master Pages tab within Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES2, Windows 7 OS. I have only 1 Master Page. Everything on the form is working properly, except when I have multiple pages, the date fields are blank on all but the first page. One of the date fields has javascript in the exit event to calculate the second date field. I can manually edit the subsequent page(s) date fields, but I don't want the end user to have to do that. I want the date fields on the new pages to equal the date fields on the first pages. Below is my output with notes to provide a visualization of what I'm looking for.
Many thanks in advance for anyone who can help me with this issue!
CarolineHey Mandy,
Yes, both date fields are on the Master Page. The first one is set to "User entered - Required" and the second to "Calculated - User Can Override"
And that's right, I used your script to calculate the second date field. The only thing I changed was the field name, and used 6 days instead since I wanted the calendar days to only run a full week, like start on a Monday and end on Sunday.
Thx,
C -
Hey there,
I have PopUpCalendar installed but none of my date fields has the popup calendar for selecting dates. I created a new metadata of type date but it's still only a text field.
Is there anything special I have to do to see the calendar popup for the metadata of type date?
ThanksYeah we have that installed... everything else seems to be working except this. So it really should put the popup calendar for selecting dates automatically in all metadata with of type date, right? I shouldn't be doing anything extraordinary to make it appear....
Huh then I guess my component is not working correctly ha! -
How to wait for a date field to be not empty in Designer workflow
I am working on a workflow and need to pause the workflow to wait until a date field has been completed. I am aware of setting dates to a workflow variable of type string to check for null, but there is no way in the Designer workflow to wait until a workflow variable is not empty.
Does anyone know of a workaround to this?Hi,
I agree with Andrej about using a Textfield as a alternative.
But, I think you can try to add a new task (set the date value) into your workflow before other tasks.
Let me know if you have further questions!
Hope it is helpful! -
Date field patterns and barcodes
I have a date field that is mapped to a barcode. the date field has a pattern > Data of date {YYYYMMDD} because the target system requires it without the dashes.
However when the barcode generates it always encodes YYYY-MM-DD (ie. WITH THE DASHES).
If i do a xfa.host.messageBox (this.rawValue) it always displays the YYYY-MM-DD.
If I call the this.formattedValue it does return YYYYMMDD.
To fix this i created a hidden field which i wrote to on the exit of the datefield and mapped this hidden field to the barcode.
hiddenField.rawValue = this.formattedValue
Is there a better way to do this without the hidden fields? I ask since i have a bunch of date fields..
How/where do i change the pre-generated barcode code to grab the formattedValue instead of the rawValue if its a datetimefield?Hi,
Got the answer for the first question from http://forums.adobe.com/message/4282353#4282353.
Kindly help with the validation message part.

Date/Time Field but not a date field type..
I am dealing with a table that was already created and filled/filling with data.. so don't have an option to have someone go back and fix.
The field i am dealing with is a varchar2 not a date field.
it has values like
12/31/1899
2/17/2010 10:00:00 AM
2/24/2010 9:00:00 AM
2/17/2010 8:30:00 AM
2/24/2010 9:00:00 AM
12/31/1899
Basically the 12/31/1899 dates are supplied the data source as an indicator that the real date/time is unknown until it gets updated later in the day or next day. (why its like this i don't know)
anyways.. I need to drop records that are 7 days old.
So for say the 2/17/2010 ones, when its 2/24/2010 when the process is ran, those records will get deleted but with the '12/31/1899' ones staying as they are awaiting to be given a date/time '12/31/1899' date is always used for the 'unknowns' so that is constant. The other 'valid ones' always have a date and a time given.
I've tried a few things today, but kept blowing up.

ORA-01830: date format picture ends before converting entire input string
With that command
The time in their messing with it?
>
You'd have that problem if the date format picture ends before any of your your strings end....
Eg.. your date field has "time component" and you just use... "DD-MON-YYYY" as the format picture.
However, If your format picture includes the maximum possible detail (of any of your strings) , you'll not see that error. Check this code below.
sql> select * from temp;
ID DATE_STRING
1 02/11/2010 03:10:26
2 02/10/2010 03:10:26
3 02/09/2010 03:10:26
4 02/08/2010 03:10:26
5 02/07/2010 03:10:26
6 02/06/2010 03:10:26
7 02/05/2010 03:10:26
8 02/04/2010 03:10:26
9 02/03/2010 03:10:26
10 02/02/2010 03:10:26
11 12/31/1899
ID DATE_STRING
12 12/31/1899
12 rows selected.
sql> delete from temp
2 where date_string != '12/31/1899'
3 and to_date(date_string,'MM/DD/YYYY') < (sysdate-7);
and to_date(date_string,'MM/DD/YYYY') < (sysdate-7)
ERROR at line 3:
ORA-01830: date format picture ends before converting entire input string
sql> delete from temp
2 where date_string != '12/31/1899'
3 and to_date(date_string,'MM/DD/YYYY HH24:MI:SS') < (sysdate-7);
4 rows deleted.
----In your case.. your format mask would be to_date(date_string,'MM/DD/YYYY HH:MI:SS AM') -
Hi there,
I am implementing a mail to RFC scenario and everything seems to work fine except of this: the RFC has a date as incoming parameter, which is not filled (correctly). When I look at the message being sent to the RFC adapter I can clearly see that all values are filled correctly, but when I am debugging the RFC in ECC the date field has 0000000 as a value. I already tried to pass a whole set of formats, but none of them seem to be able to get passed. I already checked the communication channel monitor, but there no errors are shown (and the message still contains all values).
I saw that the field in XI has type date instead of the xsd:date which could be expected. But this is also the case for standard BAPIs, so I suppose this won´t cause a lot of problems. :-s
Anyone who could clarify/solve the issue that I am having? A solution would be to ask the ABAP developer to make it a CHAR field, but at this time I consider that as the last option (because it should be possible to solve it like it is)
Thanks a lot in advance!Thanks a lot for your replies!
I am aware of the fact that 00000000 is the default value of a date field in ECC. The issue is that it is filled at the XI side, but at the ECC side it appears to be empty.
At the moment I am passing 2008-03-12, because this seems to be the format what a xsd:date field would expect to receive (according to http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/fe/26da4105aa3f5de10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm), but this doesn´t seem to get passed. I also tried the the following formats:
20080312 (internal format ECC)
12-03-2008
12.03.2008
12/03/2008 -

Working of SELECT MIN when data field is blank
Hi expert,
I'd like use the SELECT MIN instruction to take the older data (yyyy/mm/dd).
If by accident I have a Data value = blank, the SELECT MIN does will take it?
I should be sure that the SELECT MIN does not take an initial value.
Thanks for your support.
ClaudiaHello Claudia,
As per my understanding, If a date field has an initial value then by default it will have a value '00/00/0000'. In order to avoid the initial values you can put in where clause 'field is not initial'
Hope this helps.

How to replace blank values in DATE field with 00000000
Hi
I have a DSO with Date field in which there are blank values. I want to replace the blank values in the DSO for date field with 00000000. Because of this blank values in the DSO the report is giving an ORA error.
How do we replace the blank values in the DSO for historical data and also the new loads?
Please advise.
Thank you.
Regards,
Pavan.Hi Suman,
I'm trying to run a query built on a DSO. The DSO has a field 'Start Date'. This Start Date InfoObject has a reference Char as 0DATE.
This Start Field has blank values due to which I'm getting the ORA-01722 error. I came across many threads with same topic of discussion. As mentioned in one of the Threads I have written a program to update 'Start Date' with 00000000. The code wriiten is "UPDATE /BIC/AZ_MONINV00 SET /BIC/ZSTR_DTE = '00000000' where /BIC/ZSTR_DTE = ' '.
Now when I see the data in the active data table of DSO the blank value is replaced with '00000000'.
But If I right click on the DSO click on display data the 'Start Date' field is blank. And now the Query also gets executed without any error. But in the output of the query the 'Start Date' Field has "#" values.
Can anyone suggest on how to remove these "#" values in the report?
