Date field without data

Hallo, im new,
i have a little programm,
the user edit a date-field (P1_Termin) and other fields, than the programm create a mail with xml-attachment.
Only the date-field dont works. When ther user edit the field (standard ist SYSDATE+14) then die field show the new value, but the value is not in the field (P1_Termin).
Can somebody help me?

Creation of field without data element

Hi all,
i want to create a field SLNO without data element, i.e. by assigning direct data type NUMC.
by doing so while activating it is giving the below message.
"The table must be adjusted by unloading and reloading
it in the database. This function has a long runtime and should
not be performed while the table is being used for production."
"If you want to start the adjustment nevertheless,
select a processing type and choose 'Adjust'.
Otherwise choose 'Terminate'."
pls let me know which is better i.e. by assingning direct data type, or else can i create a data element with type as 'NUMC'.

hi venkat,
when creating the db table in se 11 ,if u want to use predefined data type ie char,numc,date etc ... With in se14,in fields tab, click predefined type button which is placed in the first row along with cut ,delete icons.
When u click predefinedtype button, the field named data type will be enabled and its there ready for editing.Choose the data type u need and data length etc.
If u r creating the db for the first time, there is no need for , adjusting the db table using se14.
But if u r trying to edit a db ,that is already been created , then make neccessary changes in the db and go to se14. There give ur edited db name, and click "activate and adjust database " button...Ensure that "save data " option button is selected.
Note:
If u r making any structural changes in already existing db ,then use se14 to adjust ,save and activate the db.

Supressing fields without data in IDOC

Hi ,
I am new to IDocs and we have a requirement.
when we are sending some IDOCs (ARTMAS05), the size of the file comes to around 2 MB and the frequency is hourly.
We do not need all the fields. Is there any way where we can suppress the fields which are without data and send only those fields that are filled with data.

Why does Oracle SQL query returning a date field without the time component

I'm a novice SQL user & hv just installed Oracle SQL developer (Version 3.0.04, Build MAIN-04.34).
I made the same SQL query using "Oracle SQL developer" & "TOAD for Oracle 9.0.1" but I got 2 different format on the same date field:
On TOAD, I get the date field extracted as *04/26/2011 23:12:58*
On Oracle, I get the date field extracted as *26/APR/11*
Why is the Oracle result in a different format & missing the time component?
Is there any option/preference that I need to set in Oracle SQL developer to get the full date/time format displayed?
I've tried to set my the date format to DD/MON/RR HH12:MI:SSXFF AM under the preference -> database NLS but I still get the same format!
Plse help!

Direct database data access without data level authorization check

My customer raised issue about direct database data access. Due to the customeru2019s strong security policy, it shouldnu2019t be allowed.
To prevent this kind of illegal data access, customer ask me to list up all the possibilities to display data without data level authorization check.
The things in my mind are
SQL Command Editor (for Oracle based system) : ORASPACE, DB02, ST04
Query Based : SQVI (Quick Viewer), SQ01/SQ02/SQ03 (SAP Query)
Data Browser : SE11, SE12, SE16, SE16N, SE17
Table Maintenance : SM30
Function Module : RFC_READ_TABLE
Function Module : DB_EXECUTE_SQL (DML)
Anyone knows anything which is not listed above?

Date field - no date entered - conversion error

Hi,
i've a input text field with a datepattern attached in my jsp, whose requrired attribute is set to false. If i submit the page and no date is entered, JSF returns "Conversion error occured" for the date field.
For testing purposes i made a simple JSP which contains only this date field and a reload button, which only submits the form. When the button is clicked the conversion error is displayed as described.
What am i doing wrong here?

Hi Soniya,
Dates are internally stored as YYYYMMDD - so you must input them this way when you are doing in directly using ABAP.
IF SOURCE_FIELDS-REOBJVALTO is INITIAL.
RESULT = '20201220'.

RH6: Issue: Date Field: Altered Dates

I started a project in RHX5 and am now using RH6 for the same
project. The project has a topic named Change Log. It contains a
3-column table (version, date, details). To insert the date in the
middle column, I go to the Menu Bar, click Insert, click Field, and
click Date. From there, I double-click the newly created date. This
generates a dialog box in which I clear the Auto-update checkbox
for the date. This has worked fine for two or three months.
Yesterday, when I did this, half of my dates disappeared and the
other half all changed to yesterday's date. Any ideas?

After posting my inquiry, I remembered that Windows automatic
updates were applied to my PC after I left work Friday. When I
arrived at work yesterday, my PC had been rebooted by Windows
update. It was after that reboot that I had problems with dates in
RH6. Is there any chance that one of the updates is causing a
problem? Four were applied. They are:
1. Update for Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB931764)
2. Update for Windows XP (KB929338)
3. Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool - March 2007

Auto populate date field

I have a JavaScript that I use to auto populate date fields. However, I've discovered that it doesn't work when the form is opened on an iPhone or Android phone. Is there a way to auto-populate a date field without using JavaScript?

I have complain from SPSS end user reaching Oracle through ODBC interface that Oracle date fields are considered as datetime fields in SPSS.
It is the whish that SPSS would consider Oracle date field right from the beginning as date field without the need to reformat field...
In SPSS dictionary field is described as DATETIME20 after query from the database.
Any idea is apreciated,

I just double check and didn't see this option anywhere. You can however copy/paste text on a BlackBerry. I believe the only way would be to copy it in your email client and have the BlackBerry synchronize with it

In Standard DSO, Maximum how many number of key fields and data fields we can enter in one DSO?

Since Key fields are decide by us we can add according to our requirement.
Key fields can only be 16 you cannot exceed this. but if you have more key fields, you can combine fields using a routine for a key field
Max Data Fields - 749 data fields can be added in a DSO.

Creating process for multiple Date fields for update or insert in APEX

could someone please help me?
i have a form on Apex based on view that is based on three tables and updating and inserting ok using trigger instead of.
i have a problem now as in my form i have around 75 fileds (items) incuding 30 or more date fields which could be populated or left blank or update later.
so for each date field i have two boxs; one for date, input as dd/mm/yyyy (text field) and second for time, input as 23:45. All dates will be insert or update manually by user. so as i mentioned not all date fields could be poulated at one stage.
so i have created some process and validations and all of them work fine but i came accross if date left blank then (:) giving me problem so i have done following further process for each date field. In real table all the date fields have data type date.

so i like to ask is there any easy way that is more professional. i was thinking about the procedure and using collection or similar but honestly not much experience on that so could some one please help me?

Hi,
You can do the needful by re-using the code if you can give the item names as P8_DATE1, P8_DATE_hh1, P8_DATE2, P8_DATEhh2 etc..So your item name just differs by a sequence.
Now you write function which will return desired date value taking above items as input. Pass item names to this function, get session state using APEX_UTIL.GET_SESSION_STATE('item_name') API.
Now modify you code as

....Now you have all date valus in array. Just write one update as follows
UPDATE TABLE1

Date fields in the Maintainence View.

Hello friends,
I created a maintanence view which of 2 steps. This view contains a DATE field of data element type 'DATS". Now the problem is -"
1. In the first screen of the viewI am not able to see only the DATE field(Over view scr).
2. But I able to see the same field in the 2nd screen(Maintanence Screen).
Not only to my View I maintained ' Table Maintanence Generator" to some more tables.There also I am not able to see the date field in the first screen, unless it is a key field.

Delivery Class: The delivery class controls the transport of table data when
installing or upgrading, in a client copy and when transporting between customer
systems. The delivery class is also used in the extended table
maintenance.
There are the following delivery classes:
A: Application table (master and transaction data).
C: Customer table, data is maintained by the customer only.
L: Table for storing temporary data.
G: Customer table. The customer namespace must be defined in table TRESC. (Use
Report RDDKOR54 here).
E: System table with its own namespaces for customer entries.
S: System table, data changes have the same status as program changes.
W: System table (e.g. table of the development environment) whose
data is transported with its own transport objects (e.g. R3TR PROG, R3TR TABL,
etc.).
Data Browser/Table View Maint.: This indicator specifies
whether it is possible to display/maintain a table or view using the maintenance
tools Data Browser (transaction SE16) and table view maintenance (transactions
SM30 and SM31).
MANDT field is mandatory for Client dependant tables
Technical Settings: The technical settings control, for example, table buffering.
Indexes: To speed up data selection, you can create secondary indexes for the table
Append Structure: Append structures are used for enhancements that are not included in the standard.

Data Class: The data class defines the physical area of the database (for ORACLE

Simple Transformation when XML sometimes appears without data

Hi to all
I am doing a ST to read XML file, and update this info in SAP.
All is right, but happens some structures are sometimes without data, and this situation is normal in the business process.
Example with Data:

Exists, any form of the ST don´t throw error for this situation ? Have I to use some tag in particular?
