Hi Neeraj,
There are multiple ways to achieve this.
1. Virtual characteristics. This approach still requires having a placeholder of 0DATE type in the query, but you don't have to populate it in your load. This could slow down you query as well.
2. Depending of the frontend you using you can run Excel macro (BEx) or Table exit (Web).

Getting Validation Error in IE8 with CFInput

I have an html cfform filled with cfinputs that ask for dates (type datefield), validates the date, but isn't required. In Firefox, if I submit the form it works fine. In internet explorer it gives me the error message stating that there's an error in the text. When I take out the "validate" attribute it works fine in IE, but I would still really like input that *is* given some validation using the CF tools, especially since the users for this site are not Americans.

You're correct. Early versions of SPECjbb2005 have a bug which causes it to require a specific ordering of elements when iterating over a HashMap, which leads to an incorrect validation error. This is fixed in SPECjbb2005 v1.07.
If you are planning to make a SPECjbb2005 publication, make sure you check the run & reporting rules on the SPEC web site. One caveat in this case is that JRockit does not support Oracle Linux, so you cannot make an "official" publication on that platform.

Any additional comments - We have tried to export to PDF and this works successfully. However, we can not export to xls or rft formats.

The error invalid export DLL or export format may occur when exporting to Excel and RTF formats in .NET applications utilizing the Crystal Reports 2008 runtime (v 12.0)
Other export formats like Adobe PDF, Crystal Reports, CSV all export with no error
Some customers have resolved this by adding C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86 to their environment path variables
This may have something to do with the file libpng10.dll. Both crxf_xls.dll and crxf_rtf.dll are dependent on it.

I am also having the same problem, except that I am not using Crystal Report 2008 runtime but the actual Crystal Report 2008 installation on Windows XP SP2 with VS Studio 2005 (VC++). MS .NET Framework 2.0.
Cyrstal Report XIR2 was installed on the same machine but uninstalled before installing Crystal Report 2008.
So only one instance of libpng10.dll and found in C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86

There is no problem for exporting to pdf, html, word, csv, Crystal Report. If I create a testing report without any data from database, the testing report can then be exported also to rtf and xls.
Oracle 11.1.0.6 is the DB for the reports.
Adding C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86 to the path did not resolve my problem.
Any idea to fix this issue?

First, my english is not good, but this is possibly my last hope!! I have a program with EJB's, JBoos and a MySql database! The program shows the data from the database and you can do something with these data. Now my problem to print this data. I want create a formular which will be print! I've treid ut with docbook and the javax.print library.
The first problem is: with linux docbook works very fine. I transform the sgml-file in many formats with "db2pdf or db2ps......"
but the javax.print library don't find any printservice! I've J2EE 1.4.1 where the bug canceld from the earlier version!
So the next problem is: with windows the javax.print library works fine! I find the printservices and can print *.ps or *.pdf! But i can't transform the sgml-file in Postscipt or PDF!
I've tried to solve this problem for two weeks now, but without any success.
Now my Question is: have somebody experiences with this problem and can help me or is there another possibility to solve my problem!!!

Send email in html format with pdf attachment

I am trying to send an email out of SAP using an abap program in the html format with a pdf attachment. I am using the function module -SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1. I noticed that when i specify the body type of the message as 'RAW' I get to see the pdf attachments however when i switch it to 'HTM' I loose the attachment in the email generated. I got i small problem by understanding the synchronasation.
I read the data provided by the flowmeter, and then write it to a binaryfile.dat. i need to convert the data to decimal format. is it better to convert the data before or after writing it to the binary file. Coz i need to read the data out again for calculations and save it again in a new file.
I understand that the synchronization help one to see where to begin reading the usable data. is it right?

Thank you for the small program it was helpfull.
You got right about that proberly there will be conflict with some spurios data, I can already detect that when writing the data to a spreadsheet file.
I writes the data in such a way, that in each line there will be a date, a timestamp, a tab and a timestamp at the end. That means two columns.
When i set given samplerate up, that controls the rate of the data outflow from the device, (1,56 Hz - 200 Hz), the data file that i write to , looks unorderet.
i get more than one timestamp and severel datavalues in every line and so on down the spreadsheet file.
Now the question is: Could it be that the function that writes the data to the file, can't handle the speed of the dataflow in such a way that the time stamp cant follow with the data flowspeed. so i'm trying to set the timestamp to be with fractions of the seconds by adding the unit (<digit>) in the timestamp icon but its not working. Meaby when i take the fractions off a second within the timestamp i can get every timestamp with its right data value. Am i in deeb water or what do You mean!??

There is a simple reason why we cannot do off-line ABAP development:
- the <b>ABAP dictionary</b> (which contains all structures, tables, data elementes, etc.)
Because even the simplest ABAP report (except for the "Hello World" report) will reference some objects from the ABAP dictionary and, thus, requires to access these objects directly. Therefore, we are still bound to server-side ABAP development.

Label Column When Formatting With Mutliple Columns

When creating a report with multiple columns (setting the Format With Multiple Columns property in the Details section), is it possible to put a label column on the left side of the page, followed by multiple data columns? The idea would be something like this:

A quick suggestion will be to use a cross-tab instead of multiple columns to generate the desired output.
Another suggestion will be to use a subreport. The main report will be used to type the labels on the left side, and the subreport will be used to display the multiple columns information.
1. Create a report that will be used as a container for your multiple column report.
2. Add labels in the Report Footer of the report.
3. Insert your multiple columns report has a subreport in the Report Footer on the right of the labels

In the subreport, if you want to see the Group to appear as columns at the the top, you will have to include the group in the multiple-columns, and I will suggest to format the Group Footer with the option "Print at the Bottom of Page". This will ensure that your Group Header will always appear at the top like in a cross-tab, otherwise, it might display your data like:

the format with multiple columns i dont believe will show you the value 2x, but allows you to display the values across instead of down.

I have a multi document book, which includes nearly a hundred references to web pages. Each of these is formatted with a character style. The author has not asked me if I can give him a list of all of those references. Is there any way to pull out all text using that character style, and either copy or export it? I already have a TOC and index, but if there is a way to force character styles into either of these, I could do this on a clone just to get the data.
Failing that, is anyone aware of a way to do this in the resulting PDF or EPUB file?
(I'm in CS5, by the way!)

Using Disk Utility, I select the disc image that contains the data that I want to backup to a DVD and select Burn. The program asks that a blank DVD be inserted. When I do that, no format pop-up appears as is indicated in the Help instuctions. If I procede with the burn, there is no password protection. Before I converted to Lion, I used to use Disk Utility to burn backup DVDs without any problems.

AFAIK, you create an encrypted disk image and burn that to DVD. There's nothing else to do, but I might be mistaken.

How do I import music from a flash drive that was formatted with a windows PC to my MacBook - the drive is showing it has over 3GB of info on it but none of the files are showing up in finder? I had backed up my iTunes library on the flash drive about a year and a half ago before I switched from a dell to a MacBook pro.

What I found works for me is to make sure iTunes keeps the music files organzied in the iTunes Media folder according to album, artists, etc. and that it copies the music files there when adding them to the library. That way, if something happens to the library, the raw files can always be re-imported again.
