Date glitch?

What I am basically trying to do is to take a range of dates
using a start date and an end date and calculate each time the
first of a month is hit, but I am having a problem with this
script.
Here is what I am putting in:

Where is April 1, 2006? I noticed this happens every 6 years
too. Same result in 2012, 2018, etc...
I am running Flash Pro 8.0 on a WinXP platform.

Although iTunes determines the date initially from the feed it must store the information with the file (because when you remove an episode from the feed it doesn't disappear from subscribers' lists), so I can't see any workaround that doesn't involve asking subscribers to delete the episodes and re-download them.

Sunday Date Glitch!

Hello.
I've noticed that this week (last week of October 2010) in the week view, I have 2 Saturdays (I'm using {scroll in week view by days}:
It's "Saturday, Oct 30", then "Saturday, Oct 30" instead of "Sunday, Oct 31"!
This happens only in the week view. But when I place the misinterpreted day (Sunday) at the beginning of the week, it changes to the actual date "Sunday, Oct 31"
Is this thing only happening with me or with all iCals of the same version (3.0.8 0n Mac OS 10.5.8)?
And can it be corrected, or it needs an update?

IOS 4.2.1 intermittent data

Wifi connection will disconnect intermittently on both my iPhone 3G and iPhone 4. This happens sometime to both at the same time, or one at a time.
I did a lot of test on my wireless network trying to find the cause of this. What i discovered shows that it is a problem with the iphones or the iOS, and definitely not my network.
When the iphone 4 would not load web pages, or App Store, I tried pinging the local I.P. address for it. It did not show any response to the ping. As if no device was there.
I also ran a network ping app called "Ping Lite" It allows me to ping the entire network. While simply trying to ping my router, i received no response.
I tested this literally for six hours. Most of that time it failed to ping. Sometimes, it would ping just fine, with 0% packet loss, and anywhere from 10 ms to 100 ms response times.
Sometimes it was both phones at the same time, other times it waas one at a time. I even went as far as having the app do a continuos ping, on both devices at the same time, while having three CMD windows open on the PC desktop pinging both devices AND my router.
The two iphones would intermittently lose connection to the router every few minutes for a few minutes at a time (sometimes 15 or so minutes). The two CMD windows pinging the two iphones would show that the devices were not responding in kind. But my wireless router never failed to respond to the PC, and had an average response of up to 2 ms (and PC is using wireless connection).
I haven't tested 3G for this problem yet. Although, I do see the antenna strength go from 4 bars to 0 bars, sitting on my desktop, not being touched at all. ON BOTH PHONES, and not at the same time. One phone will be full up, while the other has no signal at all.
I did notice immediate but temporary repair by simply turning wifi off/on again.

Oh, yes, btw, every tip to I have seen to get data to reconnect has worked. Power off, shut down, airplane mode and back, wifi off and back, reset network settings, it also fixes itself if I leave it long enough. Problem is it always comes back.
Forgot to mention this, streaming video (I.e. Netflix, Hulu) work absolutely fine. Once they start. If the data connection is good, and I get a video to start, it will run the entire video. There will be an occasional hiccup in network speed. The video quality will drop for a few seconds, and come right back to high quality (HD?). This might happen once or twice, but not often.
This data glitch seems to be on creating a connection.

T440s Systen Date Does Not Advance at Midnight

This is a brand new T440s, i7, W7 Pro that I have had for 3 days. On the first power-up, the system date was set on "tomorrow," in other words, one day ahead. I reset the date, time, country and time zone. It is set to sync with the internet. Each morning now when I power it up, the sysem date is "yesterday," one day behind. I have to manually change the date each morning. How can I fix this permanently. Other than this date glitch, it's a beautiful machine. Thanks.

Hello.
You must change the date in your BIOS (F1 during the Lenovo startup screen) -> Date/Time. Set it to correct date and time, then proceed to Restart and select Exit saving changes.
See if this doesn't fix it for you.

OSX will not boot up

I updated Safari from a prompt and clicked 'restart', as usual after updates. My iMac now only shows the blue screen with 'Starting Mac OS X', and this goes on forever - like an endless loop.
I switched to a Windows computer to try the Internet for solutions, and my modem appeared to be damaged somehow. No Internet. I had to swap out the modem. Some kind of data glitch. Any ideas on how to get my iMac to boot up properly?

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Tiger Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it finishes.
The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, or things don't load/run, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows!
If many Permission are repaired, or any Directory errors are found, you may need to re-apply some the latest/biggest updates again, or even do an A&I if you have enough free disk space.

Repair Permissions before & after re-install, then reboot again each time.
If all the above fails, then it appears to be time for a relatively painless Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space and no Disk corruption, and is relatively quick & painless...

Computer turns on and goes straight to gray screen telling me to restart.

I just finished installing Leopard on my computer and I decided to do a software update. While the computer was restarting it stayed at a blue screen for a while downloading files. This was taking too long and I had a paper to do so I manually shut down the computer. Now whenever I turn my computer on it goes to a gray screen and tells me I need to restart.
If anyone could help I'd really appreciate it

Will your Mac boot using the Leopard install DVD? If so, you probably need to do a reinstall of Leopard. When you reinstall the OS, do it via Archive & Install. See About the Archive and Install feature http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1710
Be sure to select Preserve Users & Settings. Also, repair permissions before and after the install.
A couple of Tips.
1. Before you install an update, ALWAYS repair permissions using Disk Utility. (Did you do this?) Then after the update is installed, repair permissions again.
2. I only use the Software Update window to determine what System related software is available for update. I don't use the auto update feature because there could be the possibility of a data "glitch" during download, which results in system startup/operational problems. Then I go to Apple site & download the update file. Then I install it.
For an update to an application, like iTunes, I use the auto update. If there is a problem with the update, you can reinstall the application, but it doesn't cause startup problems.

Why do i get frequent kernel panics on my G4?

I got bought this powermac g4 and it had no os, so what i did was formated the HD-took about 4 hours to format and wipe clean the HD. After that i did a fresh install on OS X 10.4-that went well. Then i did the updates to make it from 10.4 to 10.4.11 and thats when i got the 1st kernel panic. I shutdown and replaced the ram (thinking that would be the problem) with two chip set of 512MB making it 1GB. That still didnt fix the issue i still got another kernel panic. Next i reseted the PRAM and no luck still kernel's appear. I cant figure out what the problem only that maybe it could be the HD. Well the HD is a SCSI type so it makes it an external HD ( that what the system profile tells me) and i do not have an internal ATA in the machine to test it out. I need some help im frustrated i would love to use my g4 instead of my g3.

Kernel panics are usually caused by a hardware problem – frequently RAM, a USB device or a Firewire device. When trying to troubleshoot problems, disconnect all external devices except your monitor, kbd & mouse. Do you experience the same problems?

Measuring period of a pulse

Hi
I m measuring period of a pulse coming from a magnetic proximity sensor. There r two porblems.
1. I want to monitor the data coninuosly in a while loop but the moment it waits for pulse it doesn't stop and hangs for some time....
2. While monitoring the data , sometimes high values appear ....... but these values are unwanted. Once if i want to filter out thse values and see only the exact pattern , how to make it...

To monitor data continuously without hanging:
1. Configure your counter to do "buffered period measurement"
2. In your loop, query the counter for "available points" using "Counter Get Attribute.vi"
3. When == 0, do nothing. When > 0, read that # of points from the counter buffer. This way, you're never asking for any data that isn't already there and your loop won't ever have to hang and wait for it.
4. Accumulate/store/graph your data according to the needs of your app.
To filter out unwanted high values:
First, I'm assuming that your "high values" are high frequencies, thus small periods. If so, these may be caused by sensor and/or electrical noise. The best thing to do first is try to reduce/eliminate the noise at its source. Failing that, there *may* be a way to make good estimates of the correct data, but it could get pretty tricky. Here's an outline of a way to think about and deal with the simplest case -- where you know the expected measured frequency and it's very nearly constant over time.
The characteristic of such a noise glitch would be a a pair of transitions in rapid succession, either low-->high followed by high-->low or vice versa. Either way, you'll pick up one of those transitions in your buffered period measurement. The trouble is that it may happen anywhere within the nominal period, possibly more than once.
Let's first look at a case where the nominal period is 1 msec +/- 20% and there is one glitch of duration 0.1 microsecond, occurring at the 70% point of the real period. The measurement should show one period of duration 1.0 msec, but the noise glitch will cause you to receive instead two periods of duration 0.7, and 0.3 msec.
The simplest correction would be to simply trash all measurements outside the acceptable range of [0.8, 1.2] msec, including these two. Note however that a noise glitch occurring at the 90% point would lead you to trash the 0.1 msec measurement, but believe and keep the 0.9 msec measurement. Note also that if noise glitches are distributed randomly in time, you would end up keeping 40% of such erroneous data (glitches in either the first 20% or final 20% of the real period).
Another correction would be to estimate the period interrupted by the glitch. Start by assuming no more than one glitch per legitimate period. Since the glitch subdivides the true period into a pair, you can re-create the true interval by summing the pair of periods. The catch is to identify which pair needs summing.
The smaller of the pair will show a period <= 50% of the real period, and can be identified. However, the larger of the pair cannot always be identified. The larger of the pair can be anywhere from 50%-99.999% of the real period and may located either right before or right after the smaller of the pair. If you wish to recreate the real period, you'll need to make a mathematically educated guess about which adjacent period to consider as the "larger of the pair."
This is tricky enough as a post-processing exercise, but it's even worse when you process the data as it comes in. Then there will be times where the last element in the buffer is the "smaller of the pair" and you don't yet have the "larger of the pair" data. There will also be (rarer) times when the last element is the "larger of the pair" but you can't yet know that it needs to be summed with the next "smaller of the pair" measurement.
Now consider a case where there could be two or more glitches inside true period. You'll need to evaluate the best choice of summing any two, three, four, etc. consecutive periods to reconstruct the real period. {note that for n glitches and a +/-20% acceptance criteria, then (2/5)^n of the glitched intervals will produce one measurement within the +/-20% bounds.} In such a scenario, I would advise working *really hard* on eliminating the glitches at the source.
Whew, that's a mouthful and a half! Reply if you'd like an outline for an alternate approach, involving buffered semi-period measurement...

Price increased with no explanation. trying to cancel now and can't get in touch with support.

how can i cancel my account? the price increased and i have no idea why. i want to cancel account and can't get in touch with anyone in support. my account shows that i have a free cloud membership ... so nothing to select to cancel ... but I've been using for more than a year AND getting charged to credit card for more than a year. Anyone know what the hang is going on and/or how to cancel?

The monthly charge was $30/month for the first year and went up to $50/month or something similar so the price increase was not without explanation you’ve just forgotten about it or never read the small print when you signed up, which is understandable.
Not having an active subscription could be that you’ve already successfully cancelled the plan, somehow. The important thing is whether you can see any billing and/or payment transactions associated with your AdobeID, and whether you’ve been getting monthly e-mails when each payment is made or when the subscription renewed—like I do.
It’s the weekend in the US. You may have more luck with this sort of issue during normal business hours weekdays in the US when the most Adobe staff are at work in the US. I mean if there was some sort of data-glitch for your account then weekend staff in India may not understand enough about how everything works to get it figured out. At least you got some answers and it being an introductory price.

I am kinda old but maybe not as old as you . Experience before...
Much regard to your efforts for writing some exhaustive information on the MSI K7N2 Delta2 Platinum. I think I would be more than completely lost without your help http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/here-vp624299.html#624299. Now at least my system is running.
I have some specific points, and please forgive me if I'm asking something you may have answered. Got kids running around, that kind of thing. Have to run out and pick up milk in a minute, life is busy, you get it... sure? Any links are helpful too.
The existing server had an XP software raid (hack some dm* files a bit, there is a toms hardware article on it here http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/windowsxp-make-raid-5-happen,925-2.html on a Shuttle AN35 Ultra 400 and a Barton Athlon XP 2600+ 0343.
But it's a barebones board so I thought I would 'Upgrade' the file server with an 'everything' board. Enter the K7N2 Delta2 Platinum. Enter also a 0310 2500+ which I patched the mobile jumper for fun and cut all of L6. The NFORCE2 seems to ignore these settings, and swapping in the 2600+ completely stock doesn't seem to change anything below:
Questions I have which I have not got answered yet (and running 1/20/2005 bios the board came with): I can't adjust the vCore! I can only set it in the bios but not in Windows, where I have 8rdavcore - this dynamically lowered my FSB and vcore when the system was idle. 8rdavcore lists the board but there is no driver in the drop-down: this is not the giveio.sys driver mentioned on the home page, it is a driver to interface with the vcore and other settings on the board.
With your recommendations klondike the system at least boots reliably. Already I am disappointed in the MSI versus the Shuttle for this reason alone, no vcore and the settings seem really picky in the MSI Bios. The shuttle though had a periodic problem with crashes which I never figured out. LC 6420GP 80plus PS, ATI 9250 AGP, Team Value memory (identical in timing to the Value memory in your post Klondike), 3ware 9500S-8 hardware raid, NEC USB 5 port USB card and a 3com 10/100, all moved to the new system, with the 3ware newly introduced replacing the software raid. Removes the annoying rebuild when the system crashes out, prevents major disk data glitches.
I want this system to dynamically underclock, but as yet, I cannot adjust the vcore down. For example, Corecenter, or nTune, has the field for vcore and other values, but except for FSB, they are locked, and 8rdavcore log shows it cannot load the driver. The Shuttle went to under 100 fsb with a low voltage dynamically, I think vcore 1.25 with the Athlon XP Barton 2600+, and run super-cool and use about 75 watts of power vs 110w.
Any ideas?

Came back to the machine, swapped back in the Athlon XP Barton 2600+, took a look in the BIOS (don't know if I changed anything, probably), and now the vCore is greyed out again in 8rdavcore. "No ATXP1 found."
Edit: I used the CMOS jumper to reset settings several times to no effect.
Sorry I did not get the log when it was working. I will next time! I assume where it says "not responding" has something to do with the problem.

HT201210 my ipod touch had a glitch and it told me to connect it to itunes. so i did and i had to restore it or else it wouldnt work and i couldnt get my data.when i hit restore it loads and it says its extracting but there isa error & it wont retore what

last night i was using my ipodtouch and all of a sudden it starteed to have a glitch then it said i need to connect it to itunes. so in the morning i did. when i plugged it in it said i needed to restore my ipod in order to use and get my data back from itunes when i hit retore it loaded then it said extrcting data after a few minutes a error came up and said it couldnt restore. i tried it a few more times but the same error kept coming up. now i can not use my ipod what do i do?

When is the data gobbling glitch going to be fixed between iphones

I have used almost 8 GB of data on a 6 GB plan and that plan was put into effect by Verizon because I blew through 6 GB. Before for 2 years with two computers and one iphone never went over 1 GB. When is the data gobbling glitch going to be fixed between iphones and wifi hot spots like Verizon 4G?

Apple has not said when they are going to fix it. And tech people at Verizon and ATT don't have a clue as to why it is happening. At least they gave me a credit on the usage. Users on other forums think it is a problem with ios 6 making iphones use up wifi data and it looks as if the wifi 4G device is using up all the data.

Data Usage glitch?

Hello all, today I decided to turn on cellular data to recive a picture. When I went to turn it off I looked at the data usage. IT SAID I USED ABOUT 20 GB. TOTAL!!!!!! Is this a glitch because I have push notifications for apps and email push turned off. I only have 10 apps installed how would I even use that much data and BTW I was on wifi and left the screen locked for about 20 minutes! This better be a glitch or my parents will slice my head off. I know for a FACT I havent used 20 gb of data. I did reset it about a week ago and have had 3G off since then. Does anyone know if it's a glitch. I DO NOT have unlimited data. Please help me I'm about to have a panic attack I'm so scared. Does anyone know if its a glitch? I also noticed that the battery usage setting somehow turned itsself off.

I'm using data merge in InDesign cs5.5 but the merged file does not resemble the preview - if it generates at all. Most of the time InDesign closes unexpectedly trying to generate a preview. I did try skipping preview as suggested by related posts, to no success. From what I've read so far, data merge glitches are normal with InDesign but I still need to produce a working file. Any kind of solutions to such glitches would be greatly appreciated. I'd also like to attach the file I've done so far in case anyone wouldl like to review it, but I'm new to online forums (this being my first post) and as of now, can't figure out a simple way to go about it. So here are screen shots of the preview and the merged file instead. Please feel free to show me how to attach a file too, if so inclined. Thank you, and hope to hear from you soon.

So I'm having a similar issue. In Preview everything looks great. I get 23 pages of barcodes (or data merged information). I found there are 2 ways to do a merge. One is to create the merge, the other is to create PDF. I'm doing barcodes and need the file to be a PDF anyway, so it makes sense to go direct to PDF. My barcodes are 44 up on a sheet. If I create 1 page, 44 barcodes, I get the perfect 11x17 page with 44 barcodes. But if I try to do even 45 barcodes to go to the next page, I get a page full of the data box and no merged file. I tried without previewing. I then tried a new document and couldn't even get the 1 page of barcodes.
I am working in CS5. I do have CS6, I'll go try that and maybe this has been fixed.
I just tried doing a merge, not to PDF, and that was worse. That would put the first code on the page, correct position, next 43 codes next to the page, and keeps going until no space. The 45th code goes to page 2 and so on.
So weird that this would work a few months ago, and then not now. Well I did this same job a year ago. I'll also check to see if there are maybe some CS5 updates I missed.

Data usage glitch over weekend? ridiculous

I woke up yesterday and was informed by Telstra via email that i had exceeded my 100gb monthly quota.
Apparently on sunday july 12 i used 44gb of data.
So yesterday i had to activate one of my 3 top ups so i could get to the end of my monthly cycle.
ive been reading on the telstra facebook page that their was a glitch over the weekend with the data counter which has effected several users. I think i may have been one of them.
Couls someone please look into this for me. Thanks.
