Date in JDeveloper

How can i validate date field in Jdeveloper?
When i enter date like '2000-09-45'(yyyy-mm-dd) i doesnot give any error msg but instead converts date to '2000-10-15'.
Can i override this feature? I want to display error msg instead of this auto conversion.
Prabhdeep

See the DateFormat class.
The DateFormat class can parse a date String and create a Date object (or throw an exception ParseException).
See the JDeveloper Help system for
DateFormat and see the various parse(...)
methods.
I hope this helps,

  • Expected date for Jdeveloper 11g production version

    i am planning to start development with jdeveloper (Forms 6i background). but with latest version.
    If you can help me out of dates of jdeveloper 11g production release.
    it will save my troubleshooting time.
    Also help me out some starting point to be successful projects using jdeveloper.
    In forms successful,
    It is so simple.
    1. create table.
    2. use forms wizard (block and layout).
    3. make layout change as per your need.
    4. add buttons and validation.
    5. done.
    But in Jdeveloper.
    What is the best practice. ??
    thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    there will be a technology preview 3 out shortly to christmas. There exist no concrete release date of JDeveloper 11 production.
    Start at otn.oracle.com/products/jdev and check some of the tutorials (OBE). Note that for you to learn building JSF web applications, I suggest to use the 10.1.3 tutorials and how-tos.

  • How to get DIMENSION and CUBE data into JDeveloper???

    i have build cube and dimension using oracle analytical workspace manager (AWM),
    how i can get the cube and dimension data using jdeveloper 11gR2??
    does anybody know?
    any extension? or what??

    The simplest thing is to use JDBC (java.sql package) to access the cube and dimension views through SQL. Something like this (with appropriate error handling).
    String sql = "SELECT dim_key FROM product_view";
    Statement statement = connection.createStatement();
    ResultSet rs = statement.executeQuery(sql);
    while (rs.next())
      // Process row here
    rs.close();
    statement.close();  If your requirements are more complicated or you feel adventurous, then you can use the Java OLAP API. This is the code used by the data viewer in AWM. (Look for olap_api.jar in your database installation -- olap\api\lib\olap_api.jar my windows instance.)

  • Frustrated with DATA TAGS (JDEVELOPER TEAM)

    I have been trying to delete a record from an HTML form using data tags and unfortunately I am unable to make any progress.
    It keeps telling me that I got to use either
    "rowkey" or "rowkeyparam" and when I try to use it, it gives me a jsp exception.
    This is the same case with me when I try to locate a record using the "Find" action.
    So how am I to delete or update a record which is displayed in an HTML form?
    I saw the "howto" on using the "rowkeyparam" but it simply doesn't work as advertised.
    I always end up getting a JSP exception and the end result being I am unable to "UPDATE" OR "DELETE" any record from an HTML form.
    JDeveloper Team, Please advice. Do you have any sample examples of "UPDATING" and "DELETING" a record from an HTML form?
    I am really frustrated!!!!
    null

    To see a quick example of a working UPDATE example simply use the "DataPage" Wizard.
    When you choose the Edit Form generation option from the wizard, it will generate a working example of an "Edit Form"
    JSP app using the Data Tags and a RowKey parameter.
    For more info on the DataPage Wizard see: http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/info/jdev/datapage/s000.html
    As for deleting a record, this is also done with the Row tag.
    Instead of
    <jbo:Row id="myrow" datasource="ds" rowkeyparam="MyRowKey" action="Update">
    <jbo:SetAttribute dataitem="*"/>
    </jbo:Row>
    You can use:
    <jbo:Row id="myrow" datasource="ds" rowkeyparam="MyRowKey" action="Delete"></jbo:Row>
    Providing you pass the rowkey value as the Html parameter "MyRowKey"..

  • Any date for jdeveloper 10.1.3 beta with adf features

    Hi Jdeveloper team,
    Is there any date we can expect the next jdeveloper 10.1.3 beta with more complete adf features ? I'm currently evaluating the technology stack+tool to use for our next project ( preferably jsf based ), the lack of an adf faces release with adf databinding and adf bc features means I can't do a complete evaluation of 10.1.3 now.
    Regards,
    Low

    Low,
    we don't have a date for a preview release of Oracle JDeveloper 10.1.3 with ADF. Our intention is to release a preview version on OTN as soon as possible and if possible.

  • Date format error in LOV with dates. Jdeveloper 11.1.1.0.1

    We're facing a silly problem, which no one else seems to have... ?
    When creating a LOV on a date column (eg hr.employees.hiredate) populated from another DataSource (eg. hr.job_history.startDate), the Application Module is working fine when tested.
    Building a jspx on top of the Datacontrol picks up the LOV defined and creates a SelectOneChoice for hiredate. But for what ever value you select, it will complain about wrong date format "Error: The date is not in the correct format".
    I can see, that the "real" value selected from the SelectOneChoice is an index-value, and the "format checking code" builtin to Jdeveloper can't figure out how to get the datevalue for the selected index.
    Surely it must be me, who can't see the forest for the trees?
    Thanks in advance :)

    Its a bit tricky - but its doable... We have to abandon the "Oracle LOV model" to make it work.
    Surely its must be some kind of bug in the Oracle LOV model? ?
    The way to do it is like:
    In Model project:
    M1: Remove List Of Value binding from Model layer (Business components). Both entity and view if declared both.
    M2: Create a view for the "date list" - ie the datasource for possible values in list.
    M3: Secure that format mask (hint) for all dates involved are the same.
    In View project:
    V1: Drop datacontrol on jspx as normal input dates.
    V2:Go to bindings for the page, and add (+) a new TABLE binding (And from here an iterator) to the view containing the list.
    Modify the input dates you want to be list:
    V3: Select the input date and rightclick and choose "convert"
    V4: Select a SelectOneChoice component
    V5: Pick the right column (tree) value to show in the SelectOneChoice componet.
    Switch to source view:
    V6: Drop a ForEach item from the component Palette (ADF Faces -> operations) on the SelectOneChoice (easiest to drop in structure windows)
    V7: Drop a Select Item from the component Palette (ADF Faces -> common components) on the SelectOneChoice (easiest to drop in structure window).
    Modify the source:
    V8: Insert "items" and "var" attributes in ForEach like this: +"items="#{bindings.[[Here goes the name of the New TableBinding component you made in Step V2]].rangeSet}" var="li"+
    V9: Insert "value" attribute and change "label" attribute to reference your new list variable "li" like this: +label="#{li.[[here goes the name of the new TableBinding Component attribute (columnname) you made in Step V2]]}" value="#{li.Firstofmonth}"+
    V10: Insert/edit any converters/validators needed for input validation.
    Done....
    You should end up with a SelectOnChoice definition (in your jspx file) something like this one:
    +<af:selectOneChoice value="#{row.bindings.ActiveFrom.inputValue}"+
    +label="#{row.bindings.ActiveFrom.label}"+
    +required="#{bindings.McAccountsView1.hints.ActiveFrom.mandatory}"+
    +shortDesc="#{bindings.McAccountsView1.hints.ActiveFrom.tooltip}">+
    +<af:forEach items="#{bindings.FirstOfMonth1.rangeSet}" var="li">+
    +<af:selectItem label="#{li.Firstofmonth}" value="#{li.Firstofmonth}" />+
    +</af:forEach>+
    +<af:convertDateTime pattern="dd-MM-yyyy"+

    +secondaryPattern="yyyy-MM-dd"/>+
    +</af:selectOneChoice>+
    And a binding definition (in your pagedef file) something like this one:
    +<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>+

    this approach works... But... Its important to remember that the "two" values are different now. The value in the row, and the possible value from the list. When you select a new value for the row from the list, you'll have to commit the value before its in the row - even seen from Faces. You can't reference the value in the base table in a validator before the row is committed.
    For the same reason I'll advise, that you only use the model in Single row view, since its can behave a bit funny in table views, where there's a lot of PPR.

  • Data control Jdeveloper 11g Fusion middleware Failed to execute a SAAJ inte

    hi
    I want to my webcenter Application to make webservice dataControl with external application(BPEL/Jd Edwards) consuming the WSDL url.
    I have created DataControl consuming a WSDl URL which is deployed on Server instance within the Firewall of my organisation. & I am able to browse that WSDl URL in browser of my system.
    When I use this WSDL URL in Jdeveloper making the DataControl and after that a JSF page and dragging input and output to two different JSF page and doing the appropriate mapping on JSF pages....
    I gives this error:
    Jan 6, 2010 12:20:02 PM oracle.adf.model.connection.webservice.impl.WebServiceConnectionMessages debugExecuteFailure
    SEVERE: Failed to execute a SAAJ interaction.

    Workaround:
    I have set proxy setting
    I have excluded this url and its IP (Fixed) from proxy (Exception)
    Restarted the Jdev but same error persist.

  • How to autoincrement data in jdeveloper using postgres

    hi..Can anyone help me about my prob.? I need to know how to auto increment records in jdeveloper using postgres.. hope u can give me sample codes which i can use as my reference.. hope for your immediate reply..thankz..=)

    Hi,
    the same problem is presented when using SQLServer and MySQL with ADF. There are a few things like 'Refresh After Insert' in the entity objects, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Aside from that the container will expect a unique value to be created when you add a row entity to the ViewObjects iterator and not after you perform an insert.
    A workaround i have used is to create a sequences table containing the columns table_name and last_number. Write a helper class which connects to the database in a seperate session increments and updates the last number. The helper class is called by the create method of the entity object to assign your new value to the primary key column.
    it's not ideal, but it does work.

    Brenden

  • New release date for JDeveloper 3.3?

    Hi,
    When will the next version of JDeveloper will roll out?
    (Just curious...)
    null

    Ah, but will JD3.2.3 be a [EM]genuine[EM] patch release (i.e. small zip file to be applied to existing setup) or a JD3.1.1.2 style patch (i.e. 230MB file to be downloaded, complete new directory structure eating up another 0.75GB of my hard disk and then all my work migrated to the new directory structure by hand because of course Oracle doesn't provide a migration utility)?
    In the last 9 months I have done three complete installations of Jdeveloper: I started on JD3.0, I'm now on JD3.2. I didn't bother with JD3.1.1.2 because it didn't seem worth the aggro to do a complete install for something that purported to be a minor patch release.
    It may seem trivial to Oracle but we now have three projects using JD (that's about 20 people) and doing minor upgrades by complete re-install is a sizeable overhead. IMHO the failure to provide patches for "bug fix only" versions of JD demonstrates a failure in Oracle's CRM. This is taking customer self-service a little too far.

  • Setting the inputdate component on user's time and date in JDeveloper 11g.

    Can somebody help me non this? I was wondering on how will I get the user's time and date as the default time and date for my inputdate component because it always shows the server's date and time on where my application is placed.

    This is what I did:
    <afh:head title="EvCore Suppression"
    <afh:script text="function dateTime()
    var d = new Date();
    var t_date = d.getDate(); // Returns the day of the month
    var t_mon = d.getMonth(); // Returns the month as a digit
    var t_year = d.getFullYear(); // Returns 4 digit year
    var t_hour = d.getHours(); // Returns hours
    var t_min = d.getMinutes(); // Returns minutes
    var t_sec = d.getSeconds(); // Returns seocnds
    }" </afh:script>
    </afh:head>
    but there's an erorr near <afh:script, it says that "Using HTML script tag can result in subtle/hard to diagnose bugs, trh;script should be used instead. Recommended attriibute 'type' is missing."
    I tried to change my code based on the recommendation but it still generate an error on the same place and the same recommendation.

  • Any news about release date of Jdeveloper 11g, will it have BPEL support?

    Hi
    thank you for reading my post
    Is there any news about oracle jdeveloper 11g?
    will the release support BPEL development or there is another IDE comming for this purpose?
    I know SOA SUITE 10g, but I am looking to see whether oracle release a soa suite 11g or something based on the new Jdeveloper?
    New Jdeveloper has many features that ease the developer life when working in editor.
    Thanks

    The BPM is still in a separate tool - since the people who use it are not developers and they probably don't want to use JDev for this high-level modeling.
    If you think this should be integrated into JDeveloper, I'm sure the PMs for the SOA suite will be happy to hear about this. Use their forum:

  • JDeveloper - create csv data control adapter

    Oracle 10.1.3.4
    Following tutorial of creating data control adapter. I can see the csv file in my System Navigator but 1) can't right click to select Create Data Control AND 2) can't drag and drop csv to data control pallete. According to oracle's documentation a simple CSV data control adapter ships with JDeveloper. I can see the contents of the csv and view data in JDeveloper but can't right click on csv file to get menu 'Create data control adapter'. My goal in making the adapter will allow me to use the csv as data source to create search form and then make local table for other forms.
    Therefore, proceeded with following directions:
    1) created dapter-definition.xml, extension.xml then added library files to properties and followed instructions to copy files in specific directories after creating jar file containing specific files but can't locate directory oracle/adfinternal/model/adapter/sample... for several of the needed files. Attempted to make directories with needed classes so references are not blank, not working or something missing.
    In attempt to work around, located another oracle jar file that contains looks to be similiar CSV Handler$1.class, CSVHandler.class, CSVParser.class, but can't find SampleDataControl.class, SampleDCAdapter.class and SampleDCDef.class? As a result, copied code from tutorial and it's still not allowing me to right click on a this node type (CSV) and select Create Data Control.
    Please advise!!

    Thank you so much for your reply! =)
    To answer your question, I was trying to create a new adapter because I couldn't find how to use an exising one. Sure, I'll try using the existing one as it looks like this wizard will allow me to use my spreadsheet or it can be a xml file. But note this file is local, located on my hard drive. I suppose I could move it to the server if I have to. Is there a way to do this with a local file?
    Thanks again Frank

  • CRM On Demand Web Services Release 18 from JDeveloper 10g (10.1.3.5)

    Hello,

    The principal part of my source code is the following:
    input.setViewMode("Broadest");
    input.setLOVLanguageMode("LIC");
    listQuery.setPagesize(BigInteger.valueOf(100));
    listQuery.setStartrownum(BigInteger.valueOf(0));
    listQuery.setRecordcountneeded(true);
    id.set_value("AHKA-1ME4Z2");
    name.set_value("");
    externalID.set_value("");
    integrationID.set_value("");
    //I have changed the value of the query. With different possibilities, i.e.:
    //id.set_value("= 'AHKA-1ME4Z2' ");
    //and I have tried with the following too:
    //id.set_value(""); //to query all accounts
    accountQuery.setId(id);
    accountQuery.setAccountName(name);
    accountQuery.setExternalSystemId(externalID);
    accountQuery.setIntegrationId(integrationID);
    listQuery.setAccount(accountQuery);
    input.setListOfAccount(listQuery);
    myPort.accountQueryPage(input);
    I have tried with insert operation too, but the issue is the same.
    NOTES:
    - I haven't proxy.
    - I have activated "Integration Web Services" privileges.
    - I have activated "Web Services R16 Compatibility" in company profile. And I have tried unchecked it and the problem doesn't resolve.
    The login is correct over CRM OD (in uses WS CRM OD page I can see them), but the WS doesn't do the operation (query an account). It seems can't send the message.
    I have validate my environment [ENV] and it is correct.
    "Oracle Web Services On Demand Guide (Release 18)" differences with WS Release 16 to do a QueryPage Operation:
    - Obligatories fields --> ListOfEntity (in my case, ListOfAccount), ViewMode (I have specified, Broadest).
    - QueryPage Syntax Release 18: [XML Tag] {Operator} {Value} (Page 86), with Release 16: QueryPage Syntax: {Operator} {Value}
    - Release 18: it's necessary specify the searchspec option over AccountQuery Type.
    So, I have the following:
    accountQuery.searchspec ("[AccountName] = 'Gran Empresa, S.A.'");
    // I have tried too: accountQuery.searchspec("= [AccountName] = 'Gran Empresa, S.A.'");
    // accountQuery.searchspec("= '[AccountName]' = 'Gran Empresa, S.A.'"); listQuery.setAccount(accountQuery); input.setListOfAccount(listQuery);
    output = myPort.accountQueryPage(input);
    But it isn't solve the issue...
    Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
    thanks in advance and regards.

    Hello Frank,
    Thank you for your suggestion. I tried that and I got the same error. Looked more careful at it:
    Exception java.io.IOException: /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc: cannot execute
    I tried to execute it manually:
    $ l /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc
    -rw-rw-r-- 1 marius marius 1.9k Dec 2 19:20 /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc
    $ /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc
    bash: /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc: Permission denied
    Did
    $ chmod a+x /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc
    which solved the execution. Now Hello word works.
    I got jdeveloper as a .zip archive, which doesn't keep unix permissions. The Linux distribution should be in .tgz archive, it would have avoided this problem.
    Thanks!
